I could visibly see my bride and mothers shoulders relax after meeting Mary for the first time, a few weeks before the wedding. Mary had all sorts of supplies we could use (all for free) and really knew her stuff. During our rehearsal, Mary instructed everyone to come to her on the day of the wedding. Not me (the groom), not my mother, not the bride, but her. She played the QB and handled everything. Guys, and girls, in a world where couples getting married are nickled and dimed for every little thing, this place is the opposite. Never once did Mary say something like "Sure, we can do that for an extra fee". Everything was "Oh sure, here's what I have, what do you think?" You can tell both Chris and Mary really enjoy their work. I have nothing but glowing comments to say about them and their facility. I would recommend them a hundred times over if I could. Because of the design of the nave walls, you enter in almost relative darkness and it's only as you turn and return to the rear that the whole building shines. And then you'll see the Reddel Memorial pipe organ which has more than 5,500 piles. The building is open to the public between 7am and 6pm. There are active services here and if the Lutheran persuasion is your thing, you will enjoy them. If not, stop by when there aren't services and tour the open building. It's bound to impress. Aside from some of the public events that you can attend, you can also walk through to enjoy the architecture whenever the university is open and there are no events taking place (so most weekdays). There are also daily tours of the tower and carillon; if you are comfortable walking up all the steps it's very interesting and provides an amazing view of the campus. Every day at noon on campus you can also be treated to the carillon bells being played. Sometimes it's classical music, but other times it can be the sesame street theme song or a pop song; it's up to whoever is playing that day.
