There are about half-a-dozen Montessori programs in Lexington but absolutely NONE like Providence. I almost didn't want to preview the school due to the cost, but I decided to do so in order to view it as a benchmark. Unfortunately, once I stepped on the grounds I absolutely fell in love with the campus (which is about 5 acres, or so). The quality of the program, teachers, and personal attention is worth every penny! Although there are a couple other "good" Montessori schools in town, there is a very big difference between the Providence and the rest of them. We realized it was a large financial commitment, but the interviews we had with the school director, one of the teachers, and past parents made us realize that this school offered something very special. Our daughter is definitely above average in her verbal and certain other skills, but in just one month at Providence her various skill developement was astonishing. We also just had our first Parent-Teacher conference which even amazed my husband (and he took some convincing to go to the investigative interviews). Our experiences so far have proven to us that for the little extra cost over what your average daycare/preschool charges, you can get something so extraordinary that the decision is a no-brainer. I think the best testimony to the school is my daughter; she LOVES going to school!!!! Not that she was ALWAYS kicking and screaming when we went to her previous school....but she has NOT ONCE said "I don't want to go to school today". Just after a week of going there she insisted that I sneak into her classroom with her after school so she can show me all the cool "toys" she has played with that day. She's so proud of her school! We are now very excited about our son starting their toddler program there next fall. And even more so, we are thrilled to have the first Montessori High School coming here next year!!!

While there are quite a few private preschools and elementary educations to pick from Sayre blows them out of the water. The quality of the program, teachers, and personal attention is worth every penny!   Our children have grown as individuals and have been exposed to amazing learning opportunities. The community really cares for each other. Communication between school and home is amazing. I am able to check in periodically with my children's teachers and get real time info. They really want the student to succeed! I think the best testimony to the school are my daughters; They LOVE going to school!!!!  Our children are so proud to show us their work and to tell us about their daily learning.  They are so proud of her school! We believe in Sayre so much we have wholeheartedly chosen it to be all 3 of our children's educations until they graduate. I attended 11am service which started off with band singing few worship songs, then went right into the message which is delivered via video from Crossroads main location in Cincinnati and then wrapped up with local pastor giving updates on local happenings with the church. After the service attendees went back into the atrium and on their way to enjoy the rest of the day. My wife suggested we try this place, she'd driven by it every day for years and been curious about going to services one day. Well, we e-mailed the priest to ask about parking, since it didn't look to have much parking at all. Apparently the lot across the street is usable by their parishioners. Most mornings they have a police officer there acting as a crossing guard. They are open-minded, friendly and accepting. They genuinely embrace diversity, of both people and ideas. The worship service is beautiful, the clergy are friendly and energetic, and the actual Church itself is a beautiful "old world" style place that looks like some centuries-old chapel from Europe, complete with stone pillars, stained glass windows ornate wood fixtures and a massive pipe organ. The choir there is practically unearthly in the beauty of their music. I'm quite happy to have found Good Shepherd. I wish I'd known about this place decades ago.

My son (5 years old) just finished preschool at St. Johns and my 3 year old will continue there…read more Our family LOVES this preschool! We have been so impressed with not only the warmth of the teachers and Director but also their expertise and depth of experience. The teachers have been part of the program for years; many are church members at St. Johns. Our family moved to Lexington from out of state in the middle of the school year. The teachers went above and beyond to make our children feel welcome (sending pics of classroom activities in advance, planning for us to come early on the first day) and the transition was incredibly smooth! The STEAM program is one of a kind and gives the kids great hands-on activities to practice and learn. My boys always had something exciting to tell me about!!
