Paid 3500 for hearing aids. Now with new law, I can buy the same for 500. Hope this law ends…read morethese medical professionals from screwing us.

I wonder if anyone will even read this review as hearing aids are often a thing for the elderly and…read moreI don't think many elderly people use Yelp... Prompted by a newspaper ad, we made an appointment. They offer a free hearing test and a no-risk 30 day trial for hearing aids. The staff was pleasant and competent. The testing seemed adequate but after trying another place I think now could be more thorough. Just as a general suggestion: If you're young and happen to be reading this, start saving. They tell you to save for all sorts of things but not hearing aids. That's crazy because these things are big bucks...like 5-7k for the model we needed. If you've at all abused your hearing with loud work, military service or music, you're going to start feeling the need in your 40's, believe it or not. This is not something to wait on as your brain will lose its ability to "hear" if you live with silence too long. There's no getting it back then. (Regarding this facility...they didn't offer us any better options than a mid-line product that we later learned would be less than adequate for our lifestyle.) If you're going to buy a hearing aid, the equipment is all the same so choose a store that is close to home. Getting started with your new aid can require several visits while you go through the initial adjustment. Shop around. At this time we didn't see a lot of variety in price but we did see different approaches to testing and we learned good stuff at each of the places we visited. This is big bucks and getting the right equipment is essential. Don't be cheap. This is your hearing. We bought the best model for our situation. For less than $3 a day for an item that should last maybe 7 years and will vastly assist in having a high quality life, it's totally worth it. Don't be vain. No one cares. If you're over 40 you're too old for that nonsense.

My visit to the Chicagoland Hearing Aid Center in Bloomingdale was hands down one of the best…read moremedical related visits I've ever had! My husband and I are buying some custom in ear monitors, and in order to do that, one must find an incredible audiologist. Cathy is just that person! Cathy and her front desk receptionist Sandy were so accommodating and kind in their service, from the initial phone call to the ear impressions. When getting my ear impressions, Cathy walked me through each step of the way, asking questions and making sure I was having a comfortable time, as getting silicone poured into your ear canal is definitely a new and possibly strange experience. When I asked her a few questions at the end in regards to mailing the impressions and the anatomy of the ear, she was thorough, professional, and obviously very knowledgeable about her field. The only issue was finding the Bloomingdale location. The audiology center is on the second floor in suite 200 alongside the Wohl Eyecare Center. Once I got there, the paperwork took about 10 minutes, and the ear impressions took about 15-20 minutes. The visit and impressions were $65. All in all, the entire visit was incredibly pleasant! Musicians and singers in need of ear impressions, go find Cathy! She's also at the Wheaton location! I promise you; Cathy is the only audiologist you'll ever need!
