Food: N/A Drinks: I got a Campfire. It was cool and my friend got a Bitter Farewell and said it was good. I tasted my friend's Bitter Farewell and I'm not a fan of Gin AT ALL but it wasn't that bad so you Gin drinkers should like it. Service: The Bartender was cool. Atmosphere: Good music playing! Final Thoughts: Go grab a drink!

The cocktails were great and decently priced. Staff was friendly and quick. Ambiance was quiet and chill. I would definitely go back.

Loved this bar! Great drinks and they also have a Photo Booth! Nice that's it is above Slippery Slope too so you can start your night at Heavy Feather and go downstairs there to dance

We got there exactly at open because we are early birds and it was empty obviously so we got to pick the best seats and we just absolutely loved the ambiance. So cute and eclectic this place rates high on my list of quaint little cocktail bars. The drinks were fantastic and the staff was super friendly. Definitely check it out if given the chance!

I can't wait to come back. Vibes are immaculate. We arrived around 10:30 on a Friday and had no wait to get in Slippery Slope (downstairs) or The Heavy Feather. With standing room only we grabbed a menu (complete with photos of their signature cocktails) and placed our order just before a booth opened up. All the drinks were great and themed to the 70's decor and music. I was begrudgingly drug out the door after one drink to make our reservation down the street. I could have sipped cocktails and danced to ABBA all night!

I agree with a few other reviewers-great "speakeasy", strong drinks, but no food at all?? I really needed a handful of peanuts or something to wash down a very strong bourbon based cocktail. I do love the ambiance, decor and vibe, hence the four star rating. Check our Monday night's music themed events, I went for Teena Marie night. Lots of seating available and attention from bartenders.

They make good drinks well as far as execution. Measured well. They make on the menu items in addition to things that you want not on the menu. The lighting scheme is cool, bartenders are professional and friendly.

Love this speakeasy! I recently came here and love its 70's vibe. My BF and I pretty much tried every drink on the menu and every drink was amazing. Tips Sit at the bar for the best experience. Sunday's are the best highly recommend it! The paradise garage was my favorite drink!

4 drinks. Not well made. Not full. Tough look. Not a cocktail bar.

The pictures here are extremely misleading. 4 of us were having a good time, bar hopping in the Wicker/Logan area and we wanted to continue having good cocktails and saw the Heavy Father when Billy Sunday had no room for us. Looking at the pictures we thought it was going to be a nice cocktail bar, not that loud, easy to carry a conversation. However it was really none of the above. The Heavy Feather is the 2nd floor of Slippery Slope. The Heavy Feather is basically Slippery Slope 2.0. The place was packed and playing old school music which I liked. We were able to get seated at a table (there's no host or waitress). We were waiting for someone to attend to our table but no one came after about 20-30 minutes of waiting. When we got to the bar one of the bartenders rejected us because we said we were at a table, however no one was walking around to take our order. Odd. At the end of the day, the cocktails were amateur hour. This is not a cocktail bar. This is slippery slope 2.0. I got the jailbreaker. It was awful. Bartender shorted our drinks big time. Never filled to the top and had to use ice to make it seem like it was full. Amateur hour. If you want to go on a date trying to get some action, or trying to get some action not going on a date, this place is for you. It's Slippery Slope 2.0. I won't be back, I'm to old for this. LOL. Nice try making it seem like it's a nice cocktail bar. But to each their own. I was in the mood to just chill and talk. Not stand, dance, shout to carry a conversation. My expectation was a cocktail bar and this place is not it. Carry on.

Came here for a more chill night and I couldn't believe a place like this existed! It was kind of tricky to find. You have to enter through the slippery slope and then go up the stairs. I loved the bar and the rolling chairs, plus the big booths for a group. The cocktails were delicious and something I've never had before. They will also make you things not on the menu if you ask. Will definitely be back!

Logan Square is full of outstanding bars! This is definitely one of them! The 70s disco music and the dimly lit and beautiful bar make this place so fun! The cocktails are great too! Just be careful that some chairs are on wheels and some tables are a little wobbly which might lead to an accidental glass breaking (the bartenders quickly cleaned up the mess which were just glasses of water thank goodness). This is one of my husband's favorite bars. He loves 70s music and the vibe here is very chill. Great place!

Dope AF. Came here on a rainy Thursday, made friends with bartenders. Got the best STRONG cocktails, free yummy shots to go, and good conversation in perfect complexion-friendly candlelit ambiance. Plus, I love a good taxidermy with my moody toe-tappin blues.

Gold Cadillac was so good even my friend couldn't get enough across the table

"Welcome back." I…read morehesitate. I know with absolute certainty that I have never stepped foot in Chicago. Yet, the bartenders greet us with such a warm and friendly energy that I know with absolute certainly that I have been a regular at this bar for years. Decades. Centuries. I know within my soul that this was my go-to bar in a past life (and hopefully in the next). Just as welcoming as the awesome people are the $1 PBRs and $3 shots of tequila. And of course they hand out free hot dogs every night at midnight, which in my (intoxicated) mind was cemented as the definitive Chicago dog, even if it comes with no toppings whatsoever. And fittingly complementing the amazing energy of the bar is a 10 hour Youtube video of that memed Ukrainian kid dancing at a club playing endlessly on the TVs. Rocking sunglasses and looking like a stud, absolutely grooving without a single care in the world, and effortlessly matching every single song on the bar's playlist. That kid truly embodies the spirit of this bar. No matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or who visits, the bar's energy always works. Vibing to Black Eyed Peas on a Monday night never felt better. Imma be... back one day, rest assured. I genuinely can't wait for the next time I'm greeted with, "Welcome back."

They collected all donations and did not clarify that they were going to take 90% of them for expenses for their DJ and other costs, which is very misleading for the people donating. For the actual donated money itself after expenses were taken out, I reached out three separate times to confirm if the check was being paid and the lady three times I got completely ghosted. We never received the money, so who knows what was done with it. TL/DR: this is a warning to not partner with them for their charity bingo.

The meal started strong with crispy, golden flatbread paired with creamy ricotta. The ricotta was silky and lightly tangy, topped with olive oil, shaved cheese, herbs, and a sweet-savory jam that added depth. The bread had that perfect crunch on the outside with a slight chew inside -- simple but elevated. The pasta was the star. Wide ribbons cooked perfectly al dente, coated in a rich, slow-simmered ragu that tasted deeply savory and comforting. The sauce clung beautifully to the noodles, and the generous sprinkle of parmesan tied everything together. It felt rustic but refined -- the kind of dish you keep going back for.

We sat in the back so it was quieter, but still kinda loud overall and felt more casual than expected. Better for groups than a romantic dinner. 6.5/10. Service was great though. Our server was funny, super attentive, and paced everything perfectly. Loved the little details like switching plates and checking in at the right times. 8/10. The sweet onion toast was sooo good. Reminded me of Au Cheval's bone marrow + jam combo. Crispy & flavorful. 9.5/10. All the pastas were cooked perfectly al dente and not oily at all which I LOVED. The strozzapreti was super comforting with great duck flavor. 8.5/10. The beet agnolotti was really unique, tasted like a cream cheese lox everything bagel. 8/10. The cappelletti was more mid for me, good filling and sauce but nothing crazy. 7/10. The pork collar had an interesting texture like medium rare steak, but I'm just not a big pork fan. 6/10. Now the desserts... BEST part of the meal. The chocolate pavlova was insane. First time trying it and the textures were crazy good with the sorbet, mousse, and crunch. 9.5/10. The cookie dough brownie ice cream was also one of the best flavors I've had. 9.5/10. They also gave us a free chocolate cake for our celebration which was a nice touch, but it tasted pretty basic. Overall, really solid pastas, amazing desserts, and a great app, but a litttttle overhyped for me.
