Beautiful grounds and house with the garden, plants and flowers. You can tell the grounds were kept impeccably. This particular hotel is honestly a great option. It looks like they are renovating the place and while it is an older and more value based hotel, the rooms were clean and the woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and professional. In fact, I called the night before to ask if they had the AMC Channel, not only did she check to see if they had the channel, she went and put it on in one of the rooms to make sure they had it. This is truly above and beyond and I did not have to miss an episode of "Dead City" (a part of "The Walking Dead" franchise) and it was an excellent episode. There are plenty of restaurants close by, as well as shopping options. This is a great place to stay and I would definitely recommend here.

The place was lovely but we were treated terribly by the owner, Ann Hill, who shares ownership of the place with her husband Ray. As Ann showed us to our room it seemed a lightbulb went off and she realized we were a lesbian couple. She then tried to convince us to stay in separate rooms, first saying it would be for our own comfort then outright lying and telling us the bride had paid for two rooms for us. My best friend is very supportive of our relationship and of course booked only one room, which I confirmed with her after the fact. My friend had also gone out of her way to book what was billed as the nicest room in the bed and breakfast; after refusing to sleep apart we were then shown to the smallest, dingiest room off in a corner by the bathroom. Right across the hall from us was a much nicer, larger room, complete with fireplace. I asked Ann if that was not the room we were supposed to have but she lied yet again, telling us that it was reserved for someone else that had not yet arrived. Needless to say, that "other guest" never did show up. The next morning I attended a bridal brunch on the grounds, with Ann serving. The bride's mother, bless her for noticing, had to repeatedly tell Ann to refill my glass and offer me the brunch trays. Ann acted as if I simply was not present at the table. After the brunch we went back to our room, packed as quickly as we could, and left. We were booked for two nights and did not even end up staying 24 hours. If Ann had any scruples she should have refunded the bride the extra that was paid to reserve the nicer room and for the night that we didn't stay, as it was her vile attitude that drove us away. Although if lying comes that easy I don't suppose she is too concerned with fair dealing either. You are entitled to disagree with whatever you like about who I am, but you are NOT entitled to treat others the way we were treated by this woman. She took a time of celebration, an event that I was looking forward to and proud to be a part of, and foisted her ignorance and classlessness onto it and turned it into a dehumanizing experience for my partner and I. If you are at all supportive of the LGBT community or just prefer to deal with honest people, I'd steer clear of Oden House.
