And speaking of breakfast, every night you fill out a form indicating your choice of a sweet or savory meal. Arrive at your table hungry because the portions are fit for a king (huge!) and oh so tasty! (Dinner can also be ordered for an additional fee but again, king sized portions and so delicious! ) The Inn is located in Chatsworth, close to Fort Mountain and the cute town of Ellijay is on the other side of the mountain. There are so many outdoorsy places to visit near by, a long weekend is not nearly enough time to visit! We really enjoy our time visiting with Bill and Nicole and highly recommend a stay here!

The smell of fresh laundry is exactly what you want when you turn down the sheets at a new place-- so clean and cozy. I wasn't sure about our private bathroom being across the hall, but it was honestly great. Bathroom was very large & somehow also cozy [I think it was the warm heat coming out of the floorboard vents each time I stepped out of the shower lol]. Breakfast each morning was a 10/10! Bill is a boss in the kitchen. The homemade granola and lavender peach 2nd course were our two favorite things! If you plan to take it easy at the b&b one evening, go grab takeout brisket from Trinity in Dalton or truffle shiitake pizza from Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza and bring it back up the mountain. One of the best nights we had was eating pizza and playing giant Uno in the common room. [the giant Uno is in the basket to the left of the common room's fireplace!] Be sure to take a left when leaving the b&b so that you can see the INSANE views!! The road down the mountain to the left is SO beautiful! Things to Consider: -A more size inclusive option for the robe. My husband looked so cozy in his robe and I was disappointed that the size large was a bit too small for me. Having a few plus size robes on hand might be something to consider. Having a spot in the room's notebook that mentions larger robes are available upon request would help curvier guests feel that much more welcome & included :) -A way to text or send a message to Bill or Nicole when we have a quick question :) Thanks so much for having us Bill & Nicole! The owner took us on a tour, explaining how they process the wine and what barrels they use which made it a very fun and intimidate experience. The wine themselves are good. They have a large variety and it's helpful starting with a tasting to see which you like best.

They take pride in their venue and the personalized, thoughtful, and unique setting they provide. Margie has been planning weddings for years and her experience was incredibly helpful for us during the planning process as she asked questions and gave suggestions on things I never would have thought of without her! The Barn at Highpoint Farms offers SO much- first, they are a flower farm as well as a wedding venue. This means that we were able to use fresh cut flowers for our bouquets, table settings, ceremony décor, and got to take pictures in flower gardens that had the same flowers used for our wedding in them. The flowers were stunning, smelled and looked fresh, adding to the ambiance. The arrangements were well thought out and better than I could have imagined. Second, they offer some housing on site! Along with the ceremony space and the barn for the reception, there are two houses and a couple's tree house on site that you can rent for additional spaces to stay. We did a premium package where both houses and the tree house were included in our weekend. GREAT DECISION! This meant that we, plus our wedding party, had somewhere to stay Friday AND Saturday night that was right on site. Everyone commented on how much they loved that they didn't have to commute back and forth from a hotel, and that they got to enjoy the peaceful scenery of the farm all weekend. Plus no one was late or had any mishaps. We loved the venue so much that we had our rehearsal dinner there Friday night plus the wedding ceremony and reception there Saturday. It was so convenient and really reduced stress having everything in one place for the entire weekend. Finally, there is so much to do and see on the farm! It feels like a magical place, and they have done an excellent job of preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the farm. Everywhere you look there is a perfect photo opportunity, from flower gardens to old pickup trucks, to green houses and rustic barn doors. The venue has so much natural character and charm you really don't have to overdress it with décor and fluff which was a cost saver in the end. There are even horses, goats, cats, and dogs you can take pictures with offering unique photo opportunities. The two guest houses are comfy and stunningly decorated, Margie and family really have a great designer's eye, making them beautiful settings for getting ready photos as well as comfy places to stay all weekend. I could go on and on about The Barn at Highpoint Farms, but it'd be a book. Go tour the venue, you won't regret it. I highly recommend, it was the best decision we made in wedding planning.

Do not board at this facility. My horse arrived at this facility 11/1/2022. By 11/3/2022, my horse…read morewas severely injured with a career ending injury. My horse came directly off the track to this facility. She was anxious as she just moved across the country and was in a new place. She was turned out in their quarantine lot that was a small but safe area with white vinyl fencing, and she was doing well all things considered. I had requested to one of the managers to please let her stay in the quarantine lot to decompress for a couple of days until I could get her feet done. I figured this would not turn into an issue as a typical quarantine period when bringing in new horses is at least 2 weeks, and this manager assured me she would make sure she stayed put. I also requested that I be included with introducing her to a pasture as she has never been turned out in a pasture before with wire fencing, which is all this property has besides 1 or 2 pastures that have different fencing. The next morning, not even 12 hours later, I received a phone call stating that my horse had been turned out with a herd, against my wishes, and had gone through multiple fences and sustained a large laceration to her leg. At the time, it appeared to be just a laceration which would heal with time. But a year later, I am still receiving veterinary care due to bone involvement and my horse is still lame, with a poor prognosis. This is not the only major injury a horse sustained in my very short time at this facility. Another horse shattered her cannon bone due to her being turned with a horse she was known to not get along with, per the barn owner's instructions. Keep in mind, I was at this boarding facility for less than 2 months. In addition to multiple major ending injuries, the quality of care is very poor. The horses are often lacking hay and water even in the winter months. I was always the one providing hay and water to my own horse when I was paying for her to be cared for. Barn staff will skip feedings if the farm equipment fails and they have to walk to the upper pastures to feed. Gates to pastures are often left unlatched. Many of the horses are underweight and unhealthy. Water buckets and troughs rarely get cleaned out, resulting in algae and nasty black water they expect the horses to drink. Horses also are often getting moved around into various pastures depending on the day, which is just asking for more accidents to happen. The facility is in a flood zone, resulting in very wet conditions. A majority of the horses here deal with hoof abscesses and lameness due to the fact their feet can never dry out. Lastly, management talks very poorly about their boarders. As a horse owner, I know these boarders just want quality care for their horses and are getting upset that they are not receiving said care. The barn owner, her mother, and various management would often complain and do things against owners wishes. They complain when owners request round bales be put in the pastures because their horses are hungry and there is not food in the pastures. They complain when owners are upset that their horses are shivering because they are wet and cold and not being blanketed appropriately. They do not like their boarders and make it very clear to those around them. I have given them over a year to make things right with me which they have been unable to do. They keep beating around the bush and will not just own up and take responsibility. Do not come here if you care about your horses.
