It was my first time at The Hen's Kitchen Shoppe. I don't know how I didn't visit this elegant shop before! My first impression was that I was walking in one of the Magical Hallmark movies and I found this shop. I explored every inch in the shop since I am fond of unique kitchen supplies, gadgets and utensils. I found them all in this shop.. They have lovely and stunning ornaments too. The shop was very organized.The staff were so sweet, welcoming and friendly. I wish I could spend longer time there. 8/1/24 This is MY DREAM kitchen! Staring at this cute shop across from the Village Grill was making me curious. It's like I couldn't eat fast enough to get there. After breakfast, I walked on over & it is exactly what I pictured it AND MORE! Cute, darling kitchen items, gadgets (some I would not even know what to do with) and cooking paraphernalia abound! I couldn't stop staring & just wonder in complete awe. Wow! I barely had time to process & check everything out do the photos posted are just cursory pictures, for now. Must stop by another day when Hubby is not in a hurry or take one of my girlfriends to explore this shop & all of what Claremont has to offer. I am SHOCKED! I tell you flabbergasted that I had never reviewed this place before! This is my 2nd home away from home for all things culinary. I love everything about this small shop. They are consistently changing the products seasonally and this is a place you can come into and wander about to find that special gift for someone. I come here often for Nordicware or for Beekman body products. The gift wrapping here is so special (psst it's one of the reasons why I keep coming) their buyer takes the time to purchase little unique items that would go wonderfully in someone's kitchen. Bought a Christmas gift and needed to return it. Lady at the counter refused the return and would only give store credit. Says that is their store policy, but that policy is posted nowhere. I looked. I always try to shop local, but businesses that behave this way make Amazon more and more compelling. Two stars instead of one because the store is nice and that is worth something. read more

This is an adorable little shop in Claremont Village. They have a great baking section next to the entrance, and there are cookbooks, dishes, and bath items throughout the store. The ladies working the store are very nice and helpful, and I haven't had a bad experience each time I've come here. Come check it out whenever you get the chance! read more

Super cute little shop with unique gifts and artisan treats. The items are fairly priced for a mom/pop shop and they do have sales periodically. Stopped by on the way to the Farmers Market and picked up some hot chocolate packets, a whisk, and a flour sifter. The cashier was pleasant and recommended some other products while we were checking out. We will definitely be back! read more

Came here to Claremont for the weekend. This shop is so cute filled with beautiful table top items, housewares and more. Every nook and corner has something beautiful, sweet and sometimes humorous. They have a lot of Claremont tribute items which is nice! The women who run this shop are very friendly but professional. My friend and I browsed the shop at length while our husbands got bored, but that was okay. I will definitely return to this cute shop next time I am in Claremont. Nothing like walking through Claremont Village just to find a little diamond in the rough. The Hen's Kitchen caught my eye, so i couldn't resist the urge to explore all the unique knick knacks. Ironically while drifting through each aisle, I came across an old bread box that brought back memories when my mom use to make homemade fresh bread. Of course the homemade fresh bread mom made disappeared faster than it could stay in the breadbox. Quite a variety of dishes, flower vases and older styled items. So I saw a flower vase, but didn't quite like the flowers and as I rounded the corner I saw another flower vase that i was able to come up with a presentable selection that I liked. The lady that works there was very accommodating and helpful. Unquestionably a beautiful little store that's just starting out. Has only been open for a little while. If you're in town stop by and check it out. You may find your little Hidden Treasures just like I did. read more

The short: High end kitchen wares with a dash of vintage and sprinkle of good customer service. Tasty! The long: Kitchen shop is great description of this store. It is kitchen stuff minus the appliances. It's the pretty and cute things that make my wife happy. It is also the useful gadgets that make me more productive in kitchen. I do our daily cooking and I handle it like a short order cook. Cranking out food for my family is my happy place. The customer service is amazing, they are genuinely nice people who love what they do. Recently I attended the holiday appreciation celebration (one of the many reasons to sign the email list). It was a lot of fun. They even hid gift coupons around the store! The verdict: I have listed many reasons to visit this shop. But, if you and your spouse dont cook or you dont have a kitchen or maybe you hate cute things. Then this isn't for you. However, I can guarantee that there are other people in your life that would enjoy a gift from here. Or maybe they live under the same bridge you do. read more

Saw "Kitchen Shoppe" overhead as I was walking down Yale Avenue... That's all it took. The mere mention of KITCHEN! I love to cook and I'm a sucker for kitchen gadgets & gizmos so I had to pop on in! It was so bright & crisp... fresh yet cozy! For such a tiny space there was such an array of items from utensils, baking pans, and luxury soaps, to knick-knacks and greeting cards. And yes, a $400 dutch oven in the richest, garnet-merlot-ish color, that I now want! ;) So I'll TRY to stay off the naughty list in hopes of Christmas! *fingers crossed* :P There was one lady working in the shop; said her hellos but didn't hover. Displays were super cute, but not sooo cute that I felt I needed to run out of there. There were a few things I could see picking up for myself & a couple as gifts, so I think I will be back when I'm in the area, but it's not a place I would intentionally seek out. The pretty space, well-organized merchandising, and customer service were all so enjoyable The Hens' made my list of 'must see' stops while visiting Claremont Village. I am not a fan of 'country cute' but this shop offers enough creative and/or vintage items to hold my interest, and all at a reasonable price. I purchased a 1950s Retro Radio lunch box for my husband's many remote controls (he loved it) and we had a great time surveying the shop while the owner/sales lady offered us free samples. She was incredibly welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back for holiday shopping! read more
