We've been coming here for many years. It's a great place to get gifts or treat yourself. When my kids were young, we always got our teacher gifts here because she has such a great selection. I've also gotten gifts for the men in my life since they added a couple of nice men's product lines. Besides it being just a pretty place to shop, they will gift wrap. I'm not sure about larger things but whenever I've gotten a selection of spa things or anything like that, they usually place it in a cellophane bag with potpourri and a nice ribbon. I have been coming to Jasmine boutique for close to 20+ years. Barbara is a Godsend when I used to work at the Sheraton Suites Fairplex I would have her do Honeymoon baskets for my wedding clients... I would have the baskets placed in their rooms while they were enjoying the Reception down in our ballroom. I would give Barbara a $$ amount and some time supply her a unique carrier to place the items in, and she would do all the rest. Since then I still will call her in advance tell her my price range and leave it in her hands... I have never once been disappointed. Exquisite pajamas (fun whimsical ones as well) cute items for Moms-to-be, vintage jewelry (perfect for Mother's Day), a broad variety of bath products to choose from whether you are looking for something trendy or something delicate and classy she has it all. Jasmine is a beautiful store, with wondrous treasures. I have shopped here quite a long time. They are always so helpfull. They let you browse, and there is never any hardcore pressure to purchase. They give you time to decide what you want from soaps to pajamas and robes to jewelry. Their customer service goes way beyond anything I've ever seen. I bought a bracelet and the lobster clasp failed. These things happen, no stress. They thought they would have to send it back to the manufacturer for replacement in three weeks. Instead? They took another bracelet with the same finish and took them both over to the jeweler across the street. Within 15 minutes it was fixed. A brand new clasp from the other bracelet, and I was good to go. Barbara the owner was called and she authorized it to be done. That is exceeding what you would expect of customer service. My bracelet went home with me and it made my day. Anything you buy there? It's just not thrown in a bag. They make the bag you're leaving with look like a work of art. Even if it's not a present. Their presentation makes it feel like a special present just for you. It's such a sweet classy touch. If you're down, by the time you leave Jasmine? You feel very special. This was a fantastic find. This little boutique had some great surprises. I bought a Shower Burst in the lavender fragrance, French Men's Cologne, and a shower sponge that has the shower gel in it. I am really excited to use it on a trip I will be taking soon. I was told it would make it through TSA with no problem. One less body maintenance product to worry about sounds great to me! What was super about this shop was the service. I talk about service regularly, but not only does it seem like a lost art but it reflects the passion of the business owner. While I waited to pay the man in front of me was getting a gift which was being wrapped and they were adding personal touches to. He stated that was one of the reasons he kept coming back. We were given the opportunity to purchase the cologne tester as the cologne was out of stock and we were travelers. Such a nice thing to do. Came here specifically to pick up a Lavendar infused pillow for my aunt who is recovering from back surgery. A lady that my aunt was hospitalized with recommended it. She told her it had a calming effect and was helping her during her recovery. My aunt asked if I could get her one. The woman's family said they got it at Jasmine's. I was greeted immediately upon arrival by two very lovely ladies. As one showed me around the store, the other one worked on gift wrapping the item. She also gifted me a nice P.J. Do not go in if you have children with you. My mom and I went in there today (on Mother's Day) with my 5 year old son. I was planning on getting a few gifts along with a wallet, but after the lady behind the counter yelled at my son for picking up a chapstick we walked out. With all the rave reviews of excellent customer service, I would have expected much more. The owner seems to think it is okay to reprimand her customers children. This is not a store to visit with kids. My daughter touched a pj, and the owner thought it was okay to tell my child not to touch it. When I told the owner to tell me, not my child, she rolled her eyes with no apology or acknowledgement and instead tried to justify her behavior. She has no right to reprimand anyone's children. It is that simple, yet hard for her to understand. I am not returning because of the lack of customer service skills towards families. It is unfortunate because I am a huge small business supporter, this is why I still went ahead and purchased from her this day, even after this experience, because I believe in purchasing small. Mind you, I visited Mother's Day 2021, which was chaotic, staff was fine, and I purchased many of their products and spent over 500 dollars. To be fair, the products are nice, and of good quality. But I can purchase this from another small vendor, one that respects both children and adults. I am posting this so families are aware of this, and not disheartened if they experience this behavior. I love this little store. I have been shopping here since I was a teen. It is always a must visit when I am back home in Claremont. I like to look at the jewelry selection and I can always find some great earrings here. My favorite part of the store is all of the bath soaps, fragrances, and lotions. I remember when I was a teenager, I was always excited when someone bought me a gift basket from here. Those were always the best gifts. The owner (Barbara) and her sister (Torri (sp?) who may be co-owner, I am not sure) are so sweet and kind. Spending $500.00 or spending $5.00, no problem! Same service, same kindness and attention to detail. They have lovely, super femm gift baskets pre-made or you can collect items you love and have one made for you. There are lovely dresses, really pretty (truly pretty, such an under respected word, "pretty" is) jewelry, fun, sexy items, elegant items...anything for the feminine influence in your life from age 3 to 93 ;) I always anticipate special events so I can take a bit to shop there. I would not recommend going here if you have any children with you. My first visit here I walked up the steps with my children. My daughter was a few steps ahead because I was pushing the stroller up. The second she passed the door threshold, a woman runs up to her and (very loudly) says, "Oh no no, this isn't that kind of store!" I was just a few feet behind her. I was very taken back. I walked in because my daughter was excited about the bath bombs and wanted to get some. However, I just felt very uncomfortable being in there. I was worried she was going to yell at us some more because my daughter wanted to pick up the bath bombs to smell them. We left and I will never return. I am a small shop owner myself and have worked in retail management for over 10 years prior. I would never yell at a child just because they are walking in a few feet in front of their parent. Jasmine's has been a family after thanksgiving shopping destination for many many years. We return like clockwork because Barbara, the owner, is a doll and treats her customers like old friends, offers beautiful, unique merchandise at a reasonable price, and takes the time to help you making each visit a real treat. Recently, while walking and exploring Claremont, I came upon Jasmine. I had been searching for some time for REAL patchouli oil, like I used to wear back in high school, and lo and behold! this store has the real deal! The girl (owner?) who helped me was very Nice and showed me all the different scents of essential oils....I ended up buying 3 vials: Rain essence, Strawberry, and my beloved Patchouli. I love them! They ARE the old oils that smell so pure and good on my skin, and are not watered down, or a cheap imitation....The girl was VERY nice and helpful and I will return next time I am visiting Claremont to buy some of those nice pajamas she sells there, too!
