When you hear "indie bookstore" this place is what you picture. Books lining the walls, everywhere you look is some little detail that adds to it. It has a fair range of selections. Nice little place that is a refreshing change from the chain places. read more

I do love a good bookstore, especially a quaint one with a lot of charm. I found the store by accident, snagging the last spot while trying to go to a nearby coffee shop. The space is smaller, but the walls are lined with all genres. There is an excellent selection of biographies and memoirs of non-mainstream names. While browsing, I took note of many people whose names i didn't know, but who I am curious to learn more about. There is a history section full of many time periods and things to learn. Fiction and young adult selections are plenty if you are looking for an escape while at the beach. They have cards and games and puzzles, as well as gifts, journals, stationary, and children's toys. The gentleman at the counter helped a few people while I was there. There is a group of chairs where you can test drive a book or two and just relax. The store itself is small, but has the feel of an old English tavern. I certainly plan to return on a future visit. read more

I came here while staying in Panama City Beach for an experience at a local bookstore and was not disappointed. The book selection is comprised entirely of new books that are mostly contemporary. They cater particularly well to the Colleen Hoover crowd with a whopping two rows of her books. Sadly they did not have anything I particularly wanted to read and I ended up just buying Acid For The Children by Flea even though I knew I could have gotten it for $10 on Amazon. I just didn't want to leave without buying a book. Puzzles were fairly priced at around $18, I wish I had gotten one of those because they had a great selection. Everything else that wasn't a book was overpriced. A 60 page notepad was $15 which I found absurd. It all makes more sense though once you take a walk through the other shops in the area and find this is a strange neo-traditional community that makes far too much money off of people with more money than they know what to do with. Book buyers beware (unless you make over $200k annually). read more

I loved the dark wood bookshelves and dark wood beams on the ceiling. Feels very old school in keeping with the feel of Rosemary Beach. They had very orderly bookshelves in your standard categories. I asked for UFO books and he told me where they would be and I looked but then a few minutes later he came by and put a book in my hand. He had looked it up in his computer and found one book. Such a charming little bookstore, I really enjoy coming here with my children. They have great story times during the days and the whole area is absolutely picturesque. If I was able to take more things with me back to Texas, I would definitely splurged a little more in the Book store. As an author for children's storybooks, I was able to come in after taking to the owner over the phone, and I am really happy that the owner it's a great advocate to have diversity and representation involved with his bookstore. Really appreciate that. read more

The bookstore have a small gallery annexed, and although it's a cute and small bookstore with a (very) limited curated book selection, their careful selection is not inclusive, as I noticed that they do not have books in Spanish on site-- Spanish is the world's second-most spoken native language and the world's fourth-most spoken language overall. It should be considered for their collection but the person taking care of the store explained to us that (sadly) they can't have books that don't sell taking physical space on the floor. What a shame! read more

It's a charming bookstore in the main town area of Rosemary Beach. I walked into a clean, air conditioned establishment and was thankful. I walked through and saw lots of books that would be great reads during my lazy beach holiday. I needed help finding a book and the woman in the front was delightfully helpful. It's a small establishment and the selections are limited. However, they will try to order a book for you, if you are staying long enough to receive it. (Unfortunately, I was not) Every time I visit Rosemary Beach, they always seem to have a book signing event and special children readings and activities. read more

While visiting Rosemary Beach, we noticed they had a story hour on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. We took our granddaughter several times and she absolutely loved it. MaryEllen was great... She knew how to gear the books to little kids as our granddaughter was only 2.5. Overall it's a great little bookstore!! read more

This place is super cute. There's even some couches inside for sitting for a bit. They have a pretty decent amount of genres though not an extensive amount of books in each (what you would expect of an indie store). They also have card games and puzzles and some stuffed animals too. My 2 year old niece absolutely loved it and we did too. Highly recommend visiting this store. read more

A treasure! The only book store we could find near PCB. The town it is in is the most lovely place around. Glad to have found it! Of course, it's not Barnes and Noble, but still the selection was wide enough that we bought two books. read more

Yes, this place is awesome. You don't come here for the selection, you come here for the charm and ambience of a local bookstore. Everything is very well thought out and it boasts a great little seating area that is surrounded by walls of books. While the selection is small, it is well curated and also features a section dedicated to local authors. The art gallery connected is also very nice. read more

As a huge fan of bookstores, when we passed by Sundog Books in the evening as our last stop before heading back to our hotel, I was impressed by a well organized and large (and fun) bookstore with so much to see. We didn't roam the second floor as we arrived shortly before closing but there is a record store on the upper floor. We did see apparel and gear for sell including sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops, hats, mugs, bandanas, and tote bags. In scanning the various sections of the store, I quickly found some of my favorite fiction, historical fiction, and young adult fiction sections along with non-fiction favorites. I also found some new ideas of what I could read next, which I promptly added to my Goodreads account. I also enjoyed roaming the fun gift items, which were very creative but perfect for book loving visitors like me. Established more than 40 years ago by Bob and Linda White, the logo features their former dog Patty. The store was founded on individuality and a respect for independence though nowadays continues to focus on community. Check out their website at https://sundogbooks.com for online shopping, upcoming events, the Bookstore Buzz, and to learn about them. They give out their own Seaside Prize each year to a worthy author or authors. They also have multiple book signings in a typical week (listed on their event calendar). They are open from 9 AM to 8 PM year-round. While I love music and regret not seeing the second floor of records, I was very happy I made it to the store while it was still open. Now, if only I had enough room in my luggage for a number of books to buy while I passed through. Rather, I'll have to settle for online ordering from Sundog Books, which has some rather reasonable prices for a bookstore. I certainly recommend that visitors visit the bookstore and record shop!
