The main living space has a wall of glass for spectacular view. To me, this is why you opt to pay the big bucks. We stayed here five years ago and noticed a lot of items in need of repairs, so we stayed away from this house for several years. This year we returned assuming that the conditions had to have improved. We were very disappointed to find the condition much more deteriorated. There were wobbly railings, difficult beach access, many nails sticking out of the decking, exposed wiring in ceiling fans, sun rotted window treatments, the cheap plastic lounge chairs were all cracked and one man in our group fell hard onto the deck while simply sitting in an already broken chair. When we told the realty company of our disappointment, no one addressed our concerns. We paid a lot of money for a large house in poor condition. We have stayed in other beautiful rentals on Kure Beach and none of them were in poor condition to the extent of the Big Kahuna. My overall summary would be: The Big Kahuna is a lovely location full of great views but unless you're certain that they have made repairs FOR YOUR SAFETY, I would suggest staying elsewhere.

This is a older recreation area but they have everything you need for a getaway. The location is on the Atlantic ocean coastline of North Carolina. Make reservations before arriving they do sell out all yr long. Check- in is easy, jus follow the directions on your email receipt. If you forget anything there are some items for sale inside the visitor center. They have several lodging options, rv hook ups, canoes and bike rentals. There is a beach house with food, lots of area for cooking out with seating. You can also go boating or bring your own jet skis. The views off the dock are absolutely beautiful stayed in a cottage which was rather nice for the price. I was literally across the street from the Kure beach. Houses in the area start at 1 million dollars and up. Hotels and house rentals in the area are a bit pricey, but would be worth it for a short getaway. Just a few miles down the road Ft Fisher has a state park & a aquarium that is close. Call before you go to for hrs and operations. Im sure I will be back for a future visit! I was happy to see that they have several pet friendly properties to choose from and their pet fee was not a bazillion dollars. (Our dog is still unemployed and some of these companies charge up to $300!!!) I reserved a property online late Saturday evening and received a call from a representative at 0900 on Sunday. I wish I remembered the lady's name but she was friendly, helpful, and was able to answer all of my questions about the property. We received an email 3 days prior that the property would be ready by 4:30 pm (the usual time is 4:00 pm) I wondered why it was 30 minutes later but we never manage to get the beach before check in time anyway. We were informed that the door code would be provided the day of check-in. We received an early text at at 3:00 pm that the property was ready! We have been vacationing at Carolina Beach for several years. Our property, Tide & Seek was hands down one of the CLEANEST we have ever rented. (I travel with my own cordless vacuum and cleaning supplies - yes I am that kind of special.) It was so nice to not have to clean while unpacking! There was a nice 3 ring binder with all property and local information and little cooler bag with a few extra starter items (paper towels, trash bags, and tissue paper) which are always appreciated. I also liked the fact that I could opt to bring my own towels and linens to save a few dollars instead of having them added to the rental price. Be sure to sign up to receive their emails with specials. They have been running great promos offering gas cards, % off, and offering short stays. Every little bit counts ... so you can go get more Britt's Donuts! We had an issue with our stove a few days into our trip. I called the office and a very nice maintenance guy came out right away. A second electrical repair guy came out a little later, figured out the wiring issue, and was back with part before lunch! He was super nice and very knowledgeable about the area. Talk about fantastic customer service!! We loved pet friendly, Tide & Seek so much that we are already planning to rent the property for our next vacation! Super clean, great location, and fantastic customer service!

We dealt with 5 nights of the renters above us having kids running around, screaming, jumping off furniture, and banging on the floor until 11:30 at night, and doing it again at 7am. We could hear the children jumping off the bed in the bedroom above us. Tried to address it to the renter and they were rude. So we contacted Victory and they did nothing about it. Won't rent from them again.

Not only was the room inviting and nicely decorated, the place was clean and bed comfy. The pool was fantastic, very clean and refreshing. No sight of any bugs, in or out of room, and I love the bird wallpaper accent and old timey fridge! Thank you. Seabirds for making this one night stay a great one! The beach here was super clean, I felt safe walking it in the morning for the sunrise, also! I will be coming back here!

For what we paid for three nights over Memorial Day weekend, we could have bought an international airplane ticket. $244/night plus the pet fee is fine, but not for the quality I got. My biggest issue is when we called to report another guest threatening us and our dog, we were told only to file a police report "if we feel threatened." There was no offer to try and talk to the offending guests. I have the friendliest dog in the world and we abided by all pet policies. A guest beside us walked outside at the same time we did and said "I'll punch you and the dog in the teeth if he bites me." The dog's leash never tightened and he didn't approach the man. We called the help line provided and was told to make a police report and got no offer to speak to the guests. If I owned the property, I would have made some attempt to assuage the situation so that a review like this would never reach Google. I won't return. Security: I DID NOT feel safe. We were threatened and the staff made no attempt to talk to the offending guests. The security chain could be removed by hand on the back of the door, so there was no backup security if someone tried to bust down the door. The owners said that maintenance "was called," but the issue was never fixed. Beds-okay, but I woke up with a sore hip everyday because they were a bit stiff. Per-friendly- great option for families with pets. Spaces for dogs to relieve themselves and LVP floors for any accidents. Location- AWESOME!!! Checkin and staff: Super easy self check-in, but at the expense of no one on the property. You have to text or call for problems. Someone parked in our spot, so we had to call. We got a super fast response and the issue was resolved when we returned. Amenities and room: not as spacious as the pictures imply. Bed was a little stiff. It really bothered me that the security chain was so loose that the screws popped out of the wall. I also had to arm wrestle the shower handle to get it to turn on, and the bathroom doorknob was holding on by a thread. I called the helpline and they said that maintenance was called, but the problems were never fixed. The body wash bottle was empty as well.
