To be honest, I looked at these apartments. They're not too bad but the only thing I'm very…read moreconcerned about is the area downtown Akron there was a lot of junkies bad people rolling around definitely up to no good. Very scary. If you're a woman that wants to move here I think it's a big mistake. If you're a single man yes, a single man can live here by himself with no family Because it is reasonable to live here but otherwise, if you have a family or you're a woman, please turn around and go the other direction because it's not safe. There's a lot of shooting down here in Akron, Ohio, and you could tell by the people when you walk up past the sidewalk and past them it's could be very scary for a family or a woman don't even go find something else go find somewhere else to live. It's more safe, but if you're a man, you man could probably handle it but otherwise it's definitely a maybe.

Overall good 2 years living here in one of the 4-room apartments, esp. out of the last 7 years of…read morerenting. Since the landlords don't live on site or nearby, always take before & after pictures of your rooms. Pros - Maintenance responds quickly & takes care of the property: leaks, cleaning, spraying for bugs etc. - At least one resident event is held every month, usually free food/coffee/donuts. - Staff is friendly & helpful, & some live at the apartments too. - Recently, they repainted the hallways & cleaned the carpets in the main hallways. - Dishwashers, washers, & dryers are great - Small quip: if people live above you & open their dishwasher in the middle of a cycle, occasionally you will see leaks from the ceiling. - Trash rooms are emptied almost every day. - Security cameras around the main halls, common rooms, & outside. Cons - If you have problematic roommates, management's attitude is generally one of "sucks to suck". - It would be nice if families were put on the first floor. I had a couple bad months of sleep because of the family that moved in above my apartment. - Computer lounge is outdated (software/OS = 2013, some Macs & Windows desktops) - Printer is not reliable: sometimes no paper or staples, doesn't connect to internet anymore, & scanning/emailing yourself is not much of an option. - It's on Main Street, so when the city has events every couple months, can be difficult to navigate or get to your car. - No covering for cars, yet premium parking is $135/month (within gates) or $90/month for standard (adjacent parking lot) - Management buys passes from company that owns the lot, ABM Parking, who charge $35/month - Won't let you remove a parking pass for the entire year even if you're not using their parking anymore - FYI: Free parking is available from the city underneath the bridge across the street from the apartment - Get a wagon for grocery halls. - You have to provide a 3-month warning about leaving the apartment; otherwise, they will charge you thousands of dollars - Wifi is great but some issues: - First year, wifi was public, which isn't secure & made it difficult to connect devices like an Alexa, HomePod, etc - Second year, they switched it to private per apartment but delegated the password control to one roommate for every apartment - Beds take up a large fraction of space in the bedrooms

Never received a response! I then called to get updated pricing/fees, etc. after 3 days & Charles answered & was quite rude. WOW! I guess they don't understand who pays their paychecks! Their CUSTOMERS do!! I asked to speak with Janella, as she was familiar with my circumstances as I had spoken to her at length before. She "wasn't available." I asked him for a breakdown of rent, fees, charges. He told me a 4x4 was $439.- + $300/mo. extra for short-term!! ARE YOU KIDDING? To share a 4 BR place is $739 w/out all the fees added?? I politely told him, "No thanks" (as there are 1 BR (alone) places in Akron for that amount or less than that that are nice). Charles proceeded to hang up on me!!! I have NEVER had a business hang up on me before. We are raising a bunch of spoiled brats that have no sense of how to treat customers. Sad, sad day! He has NO business talking to customers or being on the phone w/ prospective tenants, If he was my employee, he would be fired over that! Happy to say, I def will not be giving them my $$ for The Depot!!! Something is def wrong with the (lack of) training and respect levels from employees today. Thanks to the other 2 women for posting the truth. So happy i saw their comments as it solidified my decision NOT to live there, even temporarily!!

**This leasing office has no problem terminating your lease, without cause, even if you pay rent…read moreearly every month. The reason they may give is they "just want the unit back" so they can overcharge one of you reading this review** To get the 1 star out of the way - it's for the pool. It's clean and usually quiet and they open it early in the season and close it late in the season. The other reason for the 1 star is 1 person -  Ben Boyd. In the 4 years my boyfriend and I lived there he harassed us both, specifically targeting me by directing all his communications to me. I'm SURE he will comment on this review and make an excuse or place blame on us or personally attack me (he's the one responding to all the reviews, bringing up personal details of individuals because they left an honest yet negative review. If that doesn't speak to the type of person he is, just keep reading!) I could write a book about our time here, but here are the highlights: - Threatened to remove my emotional support animal due to him not getting the signed ORIGINAL letter from my therapist he insisted on during COVID when the mail system was a mess. - Left multiple notes on our door stating we didn't clean up after our dog when there were literal bags of poop outside to be thrown away when he left the notes. Admittedly we were lazy when we first got our dog. But one mention to be better at picking up after him and we immediately made that change. But the notes and accusations continued. - We had literal sewer water leaking into our living room and the solution was to cut a gaping hole in the wall, leave it for a week while drying off the sewer water soaked carpet by blowing a fan INTO our apartment. We ended up getting a fly infestation and I had to ASK for a carpet replacement...they were going to tack it back down once it dried. - We went through 3 dishwashers, 3 fridges and 2 stoves in our short 4 years. - We got an "official notice" saying the office had been made aware (by someone unnamed) that we had a second dog that was above the weight limit, we didn't pick up after, we didn't pay for, we didn't keep on a leash and was aggressive. They had ZERO proof, because there was in fact NO second dog, and chose to issue an official notice anyway. When we confronted him about the blatant harassment and completely false accusations, Ben actually THREATENED my boyfriend saying "you don't want to make me an enemy..." and when my boyfriend asked if that was a threat, he simply reiterated that we didn't want to make him an enemy. Our only assumption as to why he targeted us was because my boyfriend is black. None of our requests were beyond the standard duties of a decent leasing company, but we were treated like we were the problem. - Our 3rd dishwasher leaked sometimes and got underneath the cheap ass laminate flooring and they chose not to fix it. - We had to BEG to have them look at the black mold in our laundry room. They tried to tell me it was because the dryer vent was backed up. Turns out the toilet upstairs was leaking. Again. - Ben cowardly left a notice to terminate our lease taped to our door one day saying we needed to be out by the end of the following month. There were people that had lived there for 7+ years that were sad to see us go. They didn't get asked to leave. Our direct neighbor (who had only lasted a year) also moved out. So if they wanted a unit so badly, why didn't they just use hers? The answer is obvious...Benny Boy bided his time and then finally followed through on that threat he made. The real kicker? His management was well aware of his mistreatment toward us and chose to do nothing. I've heard horror stories of Ben treating other residents poorly, specifically women, kicking a single mom out for false noise complaints, making people wait days for their AC to be fixed when it's 90 out... I would never suggest anyone move here. If you do move in, you may have a great experience if you're white or old and don't care for cheap appliances. Just whatever you do, don't make the big bad tough-guy Ben angry.

The apartments were recently redone with beautiful granite countertops and wonderful appliances. Another great perk was the trash shoot on every floor, no need to drag your trash to the basement or anything. They also have a spacious outdoor parking lot and also underground parking. A huge bonus is the cement walls - I never heard a peep from my neighbors the whole year I was there. The building itself is pretty quiet, no kids (probably due to the fact there's only one and two bedrooms) and most times I would walk into the elevator and to my apartment without running into anyone. The population here is a lot of young professionals in their 20's and 30's, as well as some older folks who had been there for awhile. Like I said, it is quiet but the community was so nice, everyone is friendly! And it is in a very safe area, I was nervous to live on my own as a young woman but never once did I feel unsafe here. Flory had also mentioned at one point that they have never had anything stolen, people have lost wallets/purses and yet everything was returned. The only downsides are that there are no in-unit laundry and no pets - two of the reasons that caused me to move out. However, they are currently in the works of redoing the community laundry in the basement and I am sure that will be wonderful once it is finished! Another huge perk here is the staff! Dan from maintenance is extremely kind and able to quickly help you with whatever you need. Flory, the manager, is a total gem. She truly pours her heart and soul into this place and does whatever she can to make all the residents 100% happy. She is always at her desk working on the first floor and whenever I run into her, her face lights up and makes a point to have a meaningful, personal conversation. She remembers every little detail about everyone and simply put - one of the most genuine and kind people I know. These apartments and the building itself are amazing, I would recommend this place to anyone!
