I've lived here for four years on both sides of this 10 story building, in both a 1 & 2 bedroom…read moreapartment. I'll try to be as comprehensive as possible while keeping it brief. Pros: - Apartments have a modern feel with updated appliances. - Concrete walls make for a great noise barrier. - Everything above floor 6 has pretty incredible views, especially in the east-facing units. - Lobby is nicely renovated. - Management and cleaning staff keep the place looking good. - Shoutout to the maintenance guys around here who are quick, polite, and do a great job. - The neighborhood is the best in town where something is always happening. Great local cuisine, a variety of bars, and new development popping up everywhere. - Diverse community with college kids, young professionals, families with kids, and senior citizens. - The building has multiple businesses on the ground floors providing a busy and working-class vibe. - Management has always been great, especially Shelly from when I first moved in. (Shelly where ever you are now, you rock)! - Includes vending machines, a turtle sanctuary, and a fitness center. - Extra storage in the basement is always nice. - Plenty of above-deck parking, and a good amount of covered parking. You can get a private underground spot for somewhere around $40/month. - UPS Box and USPS box directly out the front door. - Metro has a stop for the 1 bus right outside the door. - Secure package room with pretty easy access. - Nice community garden and flowers all over the place. - Rent is a little higher than other parts of the metro area, but the location is worth it. Cons: - The elevators are something out of a horror movie, and have been my #1 complaint about living here. They slam off of the walls when they are riding up, they miss your floor, you wait for up to 15 minutes, they smell horrid, and the doors have no sensors and will slam into you. A few weeks ago there was someone stuck in the elevator on the 6th floor, and it took the fire department almost an hour to free them. I have exited the elevator with it halfway between floors. Management has said that the elevators will be updated by the end of 2014, so keep your fingers crossed. - The laundry room is pretty terrible. I swear I've lost well over $100 to those wretched machines since I've moved here, plus, they beat the crap out of your clothes. These could really use some updating, but until that happens just take your laundry elsewhere if you can. - If you park under the deck and it rains, a nasty combination of concrete and run off water will drip down on your car. This unpleasant white stuff is like paint, and is nearly impossible to remove from your car. All of the cars under the deck are covered in it, and it pretty much ruined the roof of my vehicle. - There are two doors on the first floor, one on the outside and one in the lobby. The outer door is locked at random times throughout the week, and even more sporadically on the weekend. The kicker is that the intercom is on the inside, meaning you'll have to go let your guests in, sometimes even at 3 in the afternoon. - The parking policy is very strict on paper, giving you only one guest past per apartment. I have yet to see them enforce this policy, but if they did, some of the rules are quite ridiculous like, "don't leave your car in the same place for more than 72 hours or we will assume it's broken and tow it." - It's hard to keep up with Ohio's winters. That being the case, watch your step because the grounds often go unsalted. I typically bust my face at least twice per year, and I'm a fairly balanced person. - In my experience, the west side of the building experiences much more noise from drunk hipsters than the east. - This is still Akron, you will see all of the fantastic hood things that come with inner-city living, but it is still quite safe. Overall, I have little qualms with the building or the management, and I had a very pleasant experience. The management is always understanding, the neighborhood is awesome, and the people who live here are great. With a little patchwork, this could be THE spot to live in Akron, and it definitely beats the overpriced "campus suites" down by UA. 4-stars for a great 4-years, thanks Highland Square!

I was lucky enough to…read morehave a corner unit on the 8th floor - one balcony overlooking the beautiful downtown Cuyahoga Falls and the other overlooking trees and residential area. The apartments were recently redone with beautiful granite countertops and wonderful appliances. Another great perk was the trash shoot on every floor, no need to drag your trash to the basement or anything. They also have a spacious outdoor parking lot and also underground parking. A huge bonus is the cement walls - I never heard a peep from my neighbors the whole year I was there. The building itself is pretty quiet, no kids (probably due to the fact there's only one and two bedrooms) and most times I would walk into the elevator and to my apartment without running into anyone. The population here is a lot of young professionals in their 20's and 30's, as well as some older folks who had been there for awhile. Like I said, it is quiet but the community was so nice, everyone is friendly! And it is in a very safe area, I was nervous to live on my own as a young woman but never once did I feel unsafe here. Flory had also mentioned at one point that they have never had anything stolen, people have lost wallets/purses and yet everything was returned. The only downsides are that there are no in-unit laundry and no pets - two of the reasons that caused me to move out. However, they are currently in the works of redoing the community laundry in the basement and I am sure that will be wonderful once it is finished! Another huge perk here is the staff! Dan from maintenance is extremely kind and able to quickly help you with whatever you need. Flory, the manager, is a total gem. She truly pours her heart and soul into this place and does whatever she can to make all the residents 100% happy. She is always at her desk working on the first floor and whenever I run into her, her face lights up and makes a point to have a meaningful, personal conversation. She remembers every little detail about everyone and simply put - one of the most genuine and kind people I know. These apartments and the building itself are amazing, I would recommend this place to anyone!

Lived there 2 years and the rent increased nearly $500 per month from the time we signed the lease…read moreuntil we moved. Management not at all responsive to resident's needs unless you are one of their favorites. Very few activities, with little participation. Observed crimes on several occasions in poorly lit back parking lot. Management refused to install additional security lights, citing cost as the reason. Moved out in May 2025 and as of August 2025 still waiting for return of security deposit, although we were promised it would be "expedited and sent by overnight delivery". Although the apartments are nice, there is no benefit to living here.

My mother just moved into Glenwood Square apartments and is happier than I have seen her in years!…read more First, I have to thank Jen and Frank who run the place. They have been very helpful and have gone further than expected. Frank came in on a Sunday to fix the door handle as it was having some difficulties for my mom to turn the key (tight, new lock). Jen went over to Drug Mart and purchased a splitter for the cable, put it on herself and got my mom's bedroom and living room TVs, phone and internet working. Both have gone out of their way to help their tenants. Second, the place is so lovely and quiet. The view from my mom's apartment is so beautiful and everywhere is very quiet. Everything is so new and clean. And it is great that there is a washer and drying right in the unit. No public clothes washing. Also, the gas and water are paid for by the apartment, which reduces my mom's bills significantly. Last, the other tenants are very friendly and nice. My mom is enjoying being able to sit and drink coffee and chat with everyone every day. She never had that being so alone in her big house. She is so looking forward to all of the social activities that are planned, like Bingo, new tenant welcomes and especially going to the Note-Oriety Showchoir shows. I would HIGHLY recommend this Senior Community.

Having to change my review again. In April I was asked if I was going to renew my lease (ended June…read more30) and I asked them what the increase would be. I never received a response. I assumed my rent was not going to increase since I heard nothing. My lease expired at the end of June and I continued to pay my regular amount for July. Imagine my surprise when I came back from vacation to a notice that my rent was $150 short because they upped it $150! Management claims that they sent me a letter on April 27 by mail and attached to my door. Having a letter in your computer is not the same as proving you sent it to me ! I explained I never received either and I would not have agreed to paying $1400 a month and would've opted to leave. We are now and he said she said situation with rent. I can't afford and a lease I can't get out of. $150 a month increase after living here one year is a little excessive especially when you don't have proof that I received the notice. If you're going to increase someone's lease that much you should have new paperwork signed! I'm contacting the Housing Authority to see if this is legal Edit: by state law, since they excepted my rent at the old amount during the new lease period, and no new lease was signed, that should be what I'm paying. But I'm not risking eviction or fees, so I'm paying the new amount till I can move out next year.

**This leasing office has no problem terminating your lease, without cause, even if you pay rent…read moreearly every month. The reason they may give is they "just want the unit back" so they can overcharge one of you reading this review** To get the 1 star out of the way - it's for the pool. It's clean and usually quiet and they open it early in the season and close it late in the season. The other reason for the 1 star is 1 person -  Ben Boyd. In the 4 years my boyfriend and I lived there he harassed us both, specifically targeting me by directing all his communications to me. I'm SURE he will comment on this review and make an excuse or place blame on us or personally attack me (he's the one responding to all the reviews, bringing up personal details of individuals because they left an honest yet negative review. If that doesn't speak to the type of person he is, just keep reading!) I could write a book about our time here, but here are the highlights: - Threatened to remove my emotional support animal due to him not getting the signed ORIGINAL letter from my therapist he insisted on during COVID when the mail system was a mess. - Left multiple notes on our door stating we didn't clean up after our dog when there were literal bags of poop outside to be thrown away when he left the notes. Admittedly we were lazy when we first got our dog. But one mention to be better at picking up after him and we immediately made that change. But the notes and accusations continued. - We had literal sewer water leaking into our living room and the solution was to cut a gaping hole in the wall, leave it for a week while drying off the sewer water soaked carpet by blowing a fan INTO our apartment. We ended up getting a fly infestation and I had to ASK for a carpet replacement...they were going to tack it back down once it dried. - We went through 3 dishwashers, 3 fridges and 2 stoves in our short 4 years. - We got an "official notice" saying the office had been made aware (by someone unnamed) that we had a second dog that was above the weight limit, we didn't pick up after, we didn't pay for, we didn't keep on a leash and was aggressive. They had ZERO proof, because there was in fact NO second dog, and chose to issue an official notice anyway. When we confronted him about the blatant harassment and completely false accusations, Ben actually THREATENED my boyfriend saying "you don't want to make me an enemy..." and when my boyfriend asked if that was a threat, he simply reiterated that we didn't want to make him an enemy. Our only assumption as to why he targeted us was because my boyfriend is black. None of our requests were beyond the standard duties of a decent leasing company, but we were treated like we were the problem. - Our 3rd dishwasher leaked sometimes and got underneath the cheap ass laminate flooring and they chose not to fix it. - We had to BEG to have them look at the black mold in our laundry room. They tried to tell me it was because the dryer vent was backed up. Turns out the toilet upstairs was leaking. Again. - Ben cowardly left a notice to terminate our lease taped to our door one day saying we needed to be out by the end of the following month. There were people that had lived there for 7+ years that were sad to see us go. They didn't get asked to leave. Our direct neighbor (who had only lasted a year) also moved out. So if they wanted a unit so badly, why didn't they just use hers? The answer is obvious...Benny Boy bided his time and then finally followed through on that threat he made. The real kicker? His management was well aware of his mistreatment toward us and chose to do nothing. I've heard horror stories of Ben treating other residents poorly, specifically women, kicking a single mom out for false noise complaints, making people wait days for their AC to be fixed when it's 90 out... I would never suggest anyone move here. If you do move in, you may have a great experience if you're white or old and don't care for cheap appliances. Just whatever you do, don't make the big bad tough-guy Ben angry.

We were lucky to have wonderful neighbors. The staff is incredibly responsive. Anything that needs to get fixed gets fixed in a timely manner. The price is a little steep for Ohio, but overall I believe it is a good value. The only thing that happened was that one of our neighbors' pipes burst and part of our room was partially flooded on the ground floor. I think it was handled as well as it could've been -- when we got home they already had fans blowing, moved everything upstairs they could and had cleaned everything up pretty well. We also got a small gift certificate for a nearby nice restaurant for our trouble. I don't remember much being damaged if anything. Our move-out was a dream. No hidden or surprise charges. The staff are very kind and very professional. Would highly recommend. I hope this place stays as classy as it was when we lived there! :)

My husband and I rented a townhouse for six months at the Villas at Prestwick. During our stay we rented a townhouse facing the Golf course, and we were very pleased with our unit and the overall management team. It is very clean and safe place for the families and children. We had no problem about the noise,and I asked my neighbors if they could hear us because we had kids, but they said there was no noise coming from our unit. Besides, the City of Green School District scored 10 out of 10 in federal scores. If you are looking for a clean, safe and that has great schools, then Prestwick is your place. I was very impressed about the management team; The Manager (Tama) and staff are very professional and friendly.

For example, when we were having problems with our WiFi, she offered office space on the 2nd floor, with WiFi, so I could take my work calls. The apartment we rented was not, originally, furnished but we needed furnished, so Jacqui organized a designer and furnished it for us, with very pleasant furnishings. The apartment we have rented is great. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, fairly spacious, well maintained, good kitchen, HVAC and decent internet/Wifi. The facilities are great - good parking, restaurant, bar, gym, easy access to the Goodyear Theatre and in a good location, with Starbucks next door and easy access to downtown Akron nearby. It is worth mentioning the building is an excellent example of solid, brick-based construction. We have really enjoyed our stay here and will miss it.
