I've compared them against a couple of other local shops and even many vendors at Frank & Sons, and A&N usually comes out ahead. What really stood out during our latest visit was how fair they were with store credit. I brought in some cards from my personal collection that I was willing to part with, and they offered a value that felt reasonable and honest. That store credit quickly turned into Pokémon packs for the kids, which immediately made their day. Seeing my kids walk out of the store excited and holding their new haul reminded me why we keep coming back. Good prices, fair trade values, and a family friendly experience go a long way. First, the gentleman that was working in the store was so busy watching TV. He paid no attention to us. Then, once we got his attention, she asked about the card. My daughter, a little on the shy side, looked at and inquired about the card. He said he would match online value, we found it at about $173, he said he needed to get $190. My daughter offered $180 and he seemed to ignore her. I told her we are not paying that kind of money for this card at this shop. That card will sit there and has been sitting there probably for months. We left the shop and will never return again. Paying fair prices for individual cards is something we do often. Do not buy here unless you wanna get shafted on your prices because they do not constantly monitor what they have with price guides. Hence the $280 price tag. Their packs and boxes are fairly priced. Its head had a lob-sided head, rather deformed, due to heat I supposed, but it was way too deformed to be fixed so I contacted them. THEIR policy says they will cover any DEFECTIVE products, and cover shippings both ways like sideshow collectibles. Their resolve? They said I was a troublesome buyer and that they will not send a replacement and will only refund me the total and not the remaining store credit. PLUS, they said they must blacklist me on the website to prevent me from buying again. HAHA I bought like 4 figures from them and had only one small problem. No real business would do this to a customer who have bought 4 figures over 100 dollars EACH from their website. They clearly dont know how to do business. My friends, stay away and beware. As of this review, they're currently having a 40% sale of the entire store with a section that's 50% off. I've seen them vend at a lot of SoCal anime conventions, always seeing attendees carry around their logo shopping tote bags with purchases, but alas I feel like the location (swaths of closed shops in the mall) things didn't line up, sadly. There's some cute photo opportunities and there's a decent mix of nerdy collectible goods there like Pop Up Parade figures, Nendoroids, Figma, Funko Pops (ugh), some western media (Star Wars and Stranger Things), Poke'mon goods (cards and some vintage figures), and blind boxes. Was very neat that they had Fate figures since I don't see that as often anymore, unless it's only prize figures, but they had the Figma for Okita Alter, the scale figure for Skadi, and Saber Alter Copoche. I found Carpe Diem. The store is small and off a highway in some industrial shops. It's not a huge shop but is not limited in what they have. They are also open every other day due to schools being out of session. And they ask for your drivers license when you go in... I'm not sure why... but it is what it is. I think they require student ID if you're a student. They said they gave teacher discounts too but I was not offered anything when I went in. They had everything I needed and more. I like to get copic refills, and they have them behind the counter. I'm sure it's to prevent theft. Michael's and Blick does the same thing. You can find all the painting and illustration supplies you need. They have a selection of craft woods and tools along with clay, etc.... Carpe Diem is my new home base for the art supply. I'll definitely send my design students here and will be back for all my artistic supplies.
