Because of this, there's a great sense of community going on there, but new faces are always welcomed here too. I used to gig here in my younger years as mick and jackie had always been into music and promoting the local music scene. Quiz nights are always great fun and the service there is very quick. A really great place to go to and I think it caters for people who don't exactly feel accustom to gastro pub vibe. It's a very honest place with nice friendly people. The atmosphere is that of a large country pub. It has a large menu and a blackboard which always has several specials. The food is good quality pub food but not 'fine dining'. There is traditional food served alongside some dishes with a more modern twist and some hearty desserts too. There is a large outdoor area with lots of tables but it's not grassy or particularly child friendly since it is right by the car park. My daughter has always been accommodated here with ease as have my vegetarian friends who have a reasonable selection to chose from.

The reason I've given it three stars is actually because I've had a couple of very pleasant Sunday afternoons (well, couple of hours!) sat in the bay windows in the bar area.
