Firstly I want to say that the massage itself was great. Aura was very sweet. She was very firm which I needed and really got into my sore muscles. However, I still have to say my experience here was quite negative. As others have mentioned below, I too did not feel very safe in this environment. It was not professional or welcoming. I did not have Aura's contact info, so I had to wait until someone else left the building so I could get in (I tried the call box but no one answered.) When we went in to the studio, another man (presumably another therapist) was wandering around outside and inside the studio. Aura set me up in the room and closed the door, so I undressed and got under the sheet on the table. A moment later, the aforementioned man burst into the room to "get something." I was completely uncomfortable and startled, seeing as I was naked and not expecting a man I did not know to come into the room unexpectedly. It was such an unprofessional thing to do especially when you have clients who are trying to relax. I have had many massages at many different places and never have I experienced anyone other than my own therapist coming into my room (and even then, they always knock!) Aura must have been uncomfortable too, because while he was rummaging around in the room, she started awkwardly massaging me. Not the way I planned my massage to begin. It was very difficult to relax after that, especially because the other therapist was playing loud more upbeat music in the other room which could not be covered up by the soft spa music Aura was playing for me. All in all - not a comfortable or relaxing environment. I would expect this atmosphere from a massage studio that is only charging me $20. To see that you charge $150 full price is unfathomable to me because I can go down the street and pay less for a much more professional environment, which is exactly what I will be doing next time I need a massage. read more

I just have to say that HMS is a hidden gem in the hustle and bustle of Beverly Hills where their office is located. The space is quaint, quiet and very welcoming. The setting is comfortable and very relaxing and soothing. Even though there is quite the hulabaloo just outside the studio, I've never once been distracted by outside noises. The area's always clean and nice and Brett always has the best ambient music going during my sessions. Speaking of which, I can't say enough about this, deep tissue work that leaves me feeling relaxed and energized enough that I frequently walk the 3 miles back to my place after a session (I usually Uber there :)) The complex is a bit hidden and you do need to be buzzed in, but that's cool. I wouldn't want just anybody off the street to be able to wander in when I'm starkers. Anyway, if you've got stiffness, soreness and such and want to get relief, try HMS. read more

Everyone that knows me, knows how much I love my massage therapist Brett! I have tried so many different masseuses in the past because of my horrible sciatic lower back, neck and shoulder pain from a car accident and none of them could help me the way Brett has. I remember the first time I went to him, it was as if he's psychic and knew exactly where my pain was and how much pressure to put on it. His technique is also very different from any other I have experienced, it's gentle gliding motions but still deep tissue with a mix of energy work... something everyone should experience! His kind and calming energy also helps you relax after a long stressful day. I have now been going to him for about 2 years and every time I leave I feel like a brand new person. One of the best massages of my entire life. I can't tell you how many masseuses I have gone to in LA that have not been able to do a good job on my upper back and neck. To start, if you're looking for the full-service spa experience, you're better off going somewhere else. This location is pretty much just for massage. HOWEVER... I LOVED my experience here! Wonderfully convenient and relaxing. I had Laura and she was very gentle and mindful of my needs, using just the right amount of pressure and not being afraid to ask if it was too hard or too weak. She also, gave me some good stretches and advice in regard to helping my posture at work. So, yeah, this place doesn't have a storefront. Someone described that on here as "Sketchy", but if you think WeHo is sketchy then I don't know what to do for you. Yes, the location is a bit unconventional, but Brett does really great work communicating everything you'll need to find their location in a timely and non-stressful manner. so bad I went to my computer immediately to post the review. I had a young 21 year old male therapist. He started my massage late and ended it early. He had weak hands and it often felt gross because he wouldn't apply any real pressure so it was just a stranger running his hands over your body as if it was for his pleasure and not mine. I was supposed to get a 30 minute facial massage and 60 minute full body massage. The facial massage lasted 10 minute and WAS NOT A MASSAGE. It was just some dude puting his hands on my face and half heartedly rubbing lotion on my cheeks. The full body massage was soooooo weak. I kept telling him to go harder but I realized he couldn't. He is not strong enough to be a massage therapist. Tiny little asian women are WAAAAYYYY stronger than this guy. I told him my lower back needed the most attention and he told me he decided not to work on that area. ???!!! HUH? The part I needed rubbed did not get rubbed. The space is dingy and oddly arranged. There is no waiting room it is a bunch of rental offices from the 40's. You have to stumble around in a hallway full of doors trying to find your room. They have no breaks between clients so you can't get your full massage time. You have to wait for the person before you to leave and that will cut in to your time. Lastly, FINGERNAILS!!! Holy Crap! This guy scratched me like crazy. Do not go here. I feel like I wasted money and I feel really gross like I just got molested by some weird guy. Going to take a shower and try to move on with the afternoon. It sucks to feel ripped off. read more

One of the worst massage experiences I've ever had. I had a 2PM appointment set, only to be cancelled when the owner (presumably) TEXTED me an HOUR before my appointment to tell me that my scheduled masseuse was sick. I was forced to reschedule for the next day. This is fine and all but it messed with my schedule and is a bit of a double standard. If I cancelled my appointment at any time within a 24-hour time frame, I'd be held liable for the cost 100%. The person who texted me (again, presumably the owner) did not even offer me any form of reimbursement. I arrived for my massage the next day at a a small little room in an upstairs office complex. The room was extremely stuffy and very warm even with the air conditioner on. It was not a zen-like atmosphere at all. The massage itself was pretty bad. I don't normally need a lot of pressure but I didn't feel any pressure at all when she pressed into me. The massage also ran under the hour time allotted. Overall, extremely poor experience. You certainly get what you pay for here. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Brett Chilton, CMT! I have been going to Brett off and on since 2015 and he is awesome! He is very intuitive, and knows exactly which technique(s) to use without saying a word. If you have a problem area, Brett will focus on that area to make sure any knots and kinks are taken care of. Each time I have had a massage with Brett, I leave feel rejuvenated and relaxed, as well as feeling back to normal. He is not cheap, but trust me when I tell you he is worth every penny! read more

I never post review on yelp but had to log in for this one! I had such a great experience with my visit at the studio last night! I was professionally greeted by my therapist as I entered the building at a very nice location, then escorted to the massage room which had a very cozy, cute and private feel to it. My therapist spent a good amount of time to ask me about my trouble areas and what I wanted to achieve from my visit. My massage was truly amazing, one of the best I've ever had! And let me tell you, I've had a lot!!! Every trouble point discussed earlier was addressed, the pressure and techniques used left me feeling rejuvenated. I felt the weight of stress I was carrying on my solders gone. I walked out feeling amazing just like you expect from a great massage. The price paid for the service received was amazing. Just had the most incredible massage with Jack Ford. I have residual back problems and he was able to really dig deep to assess problem areas and how to treat them. A+ I have been going to Salina for several months for desk job related neck and shoulder pain. Not only is Salina available after normal work hours, but she is great at her job. On top of that the massages are very affordable, which has allowed me to go as much as twice a month. Salina has been able to reduce my neck pain more than chiropractors or physical therapy and has given me advice on what to do outside the massage room (stretching etc.). She also digs deeper than most massage therapists who are afraid to really get in there and get to the knots. As a side note, she is also an interesting person and very sweet. She does comedy in addition to her massage work, so I always like to hear her stories. TL;DR - Salina is the Best. A+ read more

I have been going to see Carina every week for about 2 months now and she has done more for me than ALL the physical therapy I've done. My back is looser, my neck is not as tight and she is one of the sweetest people ever! Another bonus is that the 60 minute massage is 60 minutes. Not 10 minutes of chatting, changing, prepping the room then 45 minutes to massage and 5 minutes to let you get dressed. It's a FULL 60 minutes. Talk about getting what you paid for! read more

I found that very unfriendly, hostile place, terrible, horrible customer service. It's not even a proper shop or massage studio. Looks like illegally operating this place. I got a Groupon so I have to use it. But the contact number was the nothing but leads to an instruction how to make an appointment on app. I got an email about appointment confirmation and where the location is. But on the appointment day, I couldn't find the location which was situated on busy Santa Monica blvd but nowhere to called. I emailed them but absolutely no response. I finally found the door that lead up to the second floor and found the suit 222, I was already 15 minutes late. I saw the sign on the door " massage session in place, please wait", so I waited for about 15 more minutes. But I thought that I'm not sure this wait is pointless or not so I called the number posted on the door and a lady answered and told me, my masseuse is in suit 216. How would I know that? I was waiting in that empty hallway for a while. Long story long, I finally met my masseuse and she blamed me that I was late and not contacted them. I explained to her what happened but no apology or any kind of sorry for the confusion or nothing. I rescheduled it because at this point Groupon will not refund me after I successfully made an appointment. It was so terrible I literally wanted to cry. I hope massage should be ok on the day of my rescheduled and I will never ever go back there again after that. This place looks shady and illegal. I have all the email sent to the company and attempted to call while I was lost. They cannot blame me that I'm late. I have all the proof that I did everything to reach them. first of all, this yelp page and the website is solely for the owner to handle coupon customers only. he has a separate website(exact the same look and content) and the yelp account for his real(non-coupon) customers. being that said, he tries so hard not to massage you by himself but to give it to his assistants. i had this lady massaged me and honestly it was a joke. she had absolutely no clue what she was doing. she seemed trying to find out what massage is about by rubbing some oil on me. she did completely different things on the right part of my body from the left. super sloppy works with some tickling technics(?????). i assume he hires random unprofessionals just to handle his coupon "customers". very disappointed. read more

I was not sure what to expect seeing that I was using a Groupon. To start with, they use an automated texting system- and although responsive I found it very confusing. I requested an appointment and was notified via text that there was an available appointment this evening with Thomas H. I also was told I would receive an email with confirmation and all details to my appointment. It has been hours and I still have not received an email. I later (1 hour to appointment) get a personal phone call from Thomas that he didn't know he was scheduled and if we can push the appointment to 30 mins later- I said it was OK even though the massage was a bit later in the night. I found the place (which has no signage outside whatsoever) and was more like an apartment building complex rather than a commercial building.The unit itself had no signage. It was a very uncomfortable feeling and setting especially if you're waiting to get a massage at night time as a female by herself- it felt shady. Then 5 minutes before my appointment that I accommodated to move- Thomas texts me and says he cannot make it. I found this experience to highly unprofessional and uncomfortable from the start. I guess you get what you get when you get an affordable Groupon. But this not a professional establishment the experience from the beginning was a sketchy uncomfortable experience. This is actually the 2nd time that I've been there. Last time I got a treatment from Carina from Sweden and this time I got one from Brett. Both therapists are excellent with Brett being a little stronger and much more in detail on tackling my trigger points and pressure points releases. Although it is a little difficult making appointment with him, it is well worth the efforts. I have been a therapist for over 15 years and I can immediately sense that I am in good hands. Although we only have 60 minutes and we can only concentrate on my shoulders which have always been my sore spots due to my profession, I can assure you that that he will leave no stone unturned. It is a little pricy but it is a worthwhile indulge if you can afford it. First of all I'm not a picky person and I'm always more prone to just not leave a review when I have poor service, because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. This was hands down the WORST "massage" I've ever had so I just had to say something. Save yourself the time and hassle and just pay more for a professional service somewhere else. I attempted to contact the owner and in their defense they offered me an appointment at no extra charge with another "therapist." The fact that the owner defended the employee and never asked what the actual problems were sealed the deal for me. I would never go back. Notice below after Brett responds, he resorts to name calling stating they assumed I had a "bad day." I can honestly say I was nothing but respectful and nice to the employee. Since Brett decided to be ugly, I will add more information I decided not to include on my initial review. Consider too Mr. Brett, how professional is it to accuse someone second hand of being "curmudgeonly" who presented to your business because they had an injury, and were in pain, and looked to you for help. Anyway, here is what really happened: First of all Salina, called RIGHT before my appointment to reschedule me an hour and a half later. Luckily I live around the corner. In LA most people would already have been in their car almost to the "Studio." The studio is a tiny room. You will wait in the hallway for her to arrive late to her already scheduled appointment. Salina was wearing some kind of fashion or dress shoes that made a loud noise on the floor every time she walked around me. She seemed like she couldn't figure out where to stand. she had some kind of cheap lotion that she just kept putting on me. She was COUGHING over and over again, open mouth coughing LOUD. she was massaging me with ONLY ONE HAND, I swear I think she was texting with the other hand, the one hand she was using felt like she was distracted and just thumbing at me. I kept waiting thinking something would feel okay, when she lazily thumbed at my hand and pulled my finger in a manner that felt equivalent to a McDonalds worker that just can't wait to be done with their shift, I POLITELY asked if we could end the massage. I was NEVER rude. She stated "you have 10 mintues left" which would have given me HALF of the massage I paid for, it was suppose to be an hour, but because of her double lateness I was only going to receive 30 minutes. SO, UNPROFESSIONAL. Brett who on Yelp is advertised as a "business owner" (just look at his profile) while claiming there is no owner there (who cares) did respond and offer I could have a massage with another "therapist" which I gave him credit for in my initial review. AGAIN Mr. Brett the reason I would never return to your sorry studio is that you never even asked me what the problem was, so how could you have truly addressed anything. AGAIN all Brett did was defend Salina. Also Brett updated his response to mine over and over and over again, attempting to make me look like an unruly customer and unreasonable person. Brett if you would have put a fraction of the effort you did into writing your dishonest response to my review, there would have been no review. One thing, I politely asked for a refund, Brett is dishonest and states I "demanded" one. Simply not true. Also it's my about the money. This thing was so cheap and Groupon refunded me anyway. So why would I go out of my way to write a crazy long review when I got my money back and cared more about the principal in the first place? It's because this business is hands down terrible. I'm SHURE I'm not the first in 3000 to have a problem with you or your business. I have been to many therapists for massage. Some where amazing, some were okay. I have never had such a horrific experience as with the massage and Hollywood massage studios lack of professional experience and customer service. I will end on a positive note. I truly hope this was a fluke experience and that Salina truly does help others. I hope this business seeks to do a professional job and that this was an exception. All the best. read more
