A day after posting my initial review, the order finally arrived. Unfortunately, that relief was short-lived. My wife and I paid the full price for a brand-new model, and while the delivery fee was waived as a sign of good faith, the freezer we received had clearly been diverted from another store. It turned out to be a display model, not new, and it arrived scuffed and slightly damaged. It's one thing to make a mistake; it's another to repeat it. This entire process has wasted both my time and my wife's. She even had to go back to the store in person and act more forcefully than she should have needed to, just to get basic service. The store manager responded as one might expect a corporate tool, proving difficult to reason with. It's not difficult to see where the shift managers get it. It took several individuals before someone finally took ownership of the situation. Thankfully, one decent manager stepped up, had the staff retrieve the display unit, and replaced it with a new one in the original box; something that could have easily been done on day one. Instead of resolving the issue from the start, the management offered explanations and justifications, without taking a moment to see the situation from the customer's point of view. For a store with a 3.5-star rating, I would have hoped for more accountability and care. Sadly, this experience has convinced me that this will be our last purchase from Home Depot. read more

I love coming to this location for all of my indoor and outdoor needs. This location has a sense of community where locals come in day by day and know the employees by name it feels great. Employees at the paint counter are really great company providing impeccable service mixing colors, color matching and so much more. The store is easy to get around with big displays in each section. It's nice I can also bring my furry friend along. Staff is very welcoming and helpful when I have a question. I value this store more then yall know read more

While you can usually find what you need at this store, don't count on the staff to be helpful! Went there last night and was looking for a fitting to a PVC pipe. The Federal government, the Center for Disease Control and the Government in Maryland have ordered people to stay home unless necessary. They have also strongly recommended that everyone wear masks when visiting stores and to stay six feet apart. Home Depot in Aberdeen is NOT taking steps to protect its customers or its employees. Its conduct is grossly negligent. NONE OF ITS EMPLOYEES WERE WEARING WEARING MASKS, GLOVES OR PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING. I witnessed cashiers standing almost shoulder to shoulder at the customer service counter dealing with customers 2-3 feet away and acting as if they never heard there was a pandemic. A one star rating is still too high for this store. I created a "pick up order", arrived at Aberdeen HD at designated time, used my app to let them know I was there. I waited over 20 minutes (only one other person was in pick up spot and she was parked there "just because". Finally, I called the store to let the know i've been waiting (23 minutes now). spoke with someone at service desk let her know what i had ordered and that i was waiting in parking spot#3, said she'll be right out. 26 minutes now, she came out, stopped to talk with a friend (i assume since she hugged the other person). she proceeds to walk up to the lady in spot #1!! Luckily the lady refuses the package, she then came over to my truck and gave me the package. upon arriving home (20 minutes away, i looked in the bag and Yep, you guessed it, I did not have everything I ordered and paid for. called the store and spoke with assist mgr Cathy. who said she was sorry and that she would refund me...great, except that part i needed was for a plumbing project that could now not be completed!! Frustrated, I asked for general/regional mgr name and phone number. couldn't get John Atkinson number, so I called HD Corporate, who could not give me his direct number but would be happy to take my complaint. so, I told my plight. I was assured that he and/or the store manager would contact me within the next few days...it's been over a week and CRICKETS, No one has bothered to send an email or anything. My advice to HD is to take a page from the service that grocery stores and even walmart provides for their order pick up program. moral is; don't promise a service that you cannot possibly provide, it just makes you look inept and customers really pissed off. I did get that part but I bought it from Ace Hardware, where great customer service still lives! read more

A week ago I went to my local Home Depot to do some shopping. I was approached by a sales representative about a 9 dollar deal to get my AC checked before the summer months by Blue Dot @https://www.facebook.com/BlueDotOfMaryland/ Today the technician came by and Low & Behold I need my blower motor replaced for $989.00. I could not believe it. It is quite an expense that I was not expecting to have. Luckily, the technician said he could take care of it "on-the-side" for $600 if I kept it between "us". Still a lot of money. I am fortunate to have a neighbor with his own HVAC company so I gave him a call for a second opinion. Thank goodness for kind and honest people in this world. Five minutes later he had my AC blower working again by RECONNECTING THE WIRE THAT WAS "DANGLING" INSIDE THE UNIT!! , I called and was told that I could return things without a receipt when I brought all the heavy stuff back and they scanned my license they said that they could not honor the return. They have a third-party verification place that your license number goes to and that's when they can turn it down. They would not even let me leave the items there while I tried to contact the contractor to get receipt. I canceled my credit card with them I will never go back. Very poor customer service, everything that I was returning was going to be used right back into the store. I think they pick and choose who gets to return and who doesn't, if it's over 1000.00, " oh, we are so sorry". Store manager is a joke, all she did was refer me to the third party verification, you could tell she just didn't want to be bothered. I will NEVER, EVER GO BACK. This Home Depot is the friendliest and most helpful hardware store within 50 miles. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you find what you need. We were recently looking for a trash can, the size we were looking for was up on a high shelf. They offered to pull it down and bring it up to their service counter while we continued to shop. No less than 10 staff greeted us while on the shopping trip. read more

I had a super good experience with an associate named Vern, but apparently he's relocating away from this location :( Anyhow, sometimes hard to find associates, but it always is at a home depot. They are the only Home Depot I've ever been to that doesn't accept my veterans stamp on my drivers license for a veterans discount which i had to show proof to the state that i was a veteran to get. Doesn't make any sense. Also they always have people standing around where you check out doing nothing but when you need help in one of the departments they are no where to be found. When you find one, they say they need to page someone to help but they never show. Very frustrating. Never had any issue with any Home Depot before this one. I had a very pleasant experience yesterday. With a fairly large shopping list, I had several questions. I received friendly and accurate help with every question. It started in the plant department when I asked a vendor and she was able to direct me. Next I asked a new employee about something else and, after he found the information, he followed up with me to see if I had found what I needed. After I presented my military ID, the cashier was very helpful and pleasant at the self checkout. read more
