Very rude workers. Went in to buy a miter saw stand. The only box available on the floor was damaged/missing parts. There were 2 staged above. I requested to have one brought down that wasn't damaged. The employee was very rude about having to bring one down for me. Told me to "get out of the way". He ripped the whole side out of the box that he brought down for me. This was a Christmas gift, so I just accepted it and left. They really need to work on their customer service at this location. read more

The customer service you get here is impressive. Yesterday I was looking for something and an employee noticed and asked if I needed help, which I did. He explained the tool I needed was in the garden area and showed me where that was. After a while I was unable to find exactly the item I was looking for, and another employee in that area noticed and offered assistance. She was able to locate the tool I needed. At the checkout I wasn't sure when to scan the coupon, and the man at that area noticed that and offered to help, which was great. I will definitely shop there for other projects. read more

We have been dealing with Home Depot for two months attempting to get new carpet into our downstairs bedroom. The carpet that was installed was defective and required us to re-order. The second delivery of carpet was also defective. We recommend using a local company that can check carpet at the warehouse before it is delivered or installed and who has some sense of ownership over the products that they sell. Lots of inconvenience. Big lesson learned. Pay the money and go local! read more

We've been living near this HD for about a 2 years. It's terrible. A few weeks ago I asked a sales person to help me with a door, I'm 8 months pregnant, he refused. Sat at his desk in door department. We used to like that HD kept track of our purchases through our account. But Somehow (this location alone) customer service can never look up your order, either through your HD account, with email, or with your credit card. We tried online ordering, to avoid the staff, but they're so rude over the phone. They tell you your order is ready, but also it will take them 30+ minutes to retrieve it and 'bring it to the front' what's the point of ordering in advance. I can 'retrieve' it on my own in 30 minutes. Thank god their is a lowes nearby. read more

Do NOT believe their price matching "warranty". I tried to match prices on a Google Nest Learning Thermostat today with a Duke Power offer and was absolutely refused because they "don't price match from on-line retailers". Wrong. There's NOTHING in HD's web site area on price matching limitations from such a source. The discount was simply too big for the store manager to swallow, and they had to make up a reason to deny the transaction. I buy a lot of stuff from HD; I'm there on an almost every other day basis. I'll be going to Lowes for the next 6 months and maybe forever because of this. read more

I can't say enough good things about customer service at Home Depot. They are so knowledgeable, helpful, and go over and beyond to help you do a project right, save time, and so on. Lowes is closer to me, but anytime I have something more complex, I always make the trip to Home Depot because​ I know they will have what I need and they will help me get it done! They are just so so much better than Lowes it's not even funny. Yes, I agree, there are still a few glitches with their online ordering system. I knew this going into it from past remodeling projects, so this time, I just made sure to follow through with their customer service to help things happen on time. For example, I ordered flooring, and they said it would take between 10-14 days. At 10 days, I checked in to see if it was on schedule. Whoops​, there was a glitch, but they caught it in time and my floors will still arrive within their original forecast. Plus, if you have questions, THEY CALL YOU BACK which is what I would obviously expect, but it rarely happens. So when it does, I really want to applaud Home Depot for making my home improvement process a little more wonderful. read more

I planned a big party for my only son's high school graduation this past June. Friends and family came as far as California to attend, and I hosted them at my house. I wanted to refresh the guest spaces (bedrooms and lower level) so ordered new carpeting. I bought carpet from Connie at Home Depot in Asheville on May 27th, and she rushed the order for installation prior to June 15th (graduation weekend). However, when the carpet arrived at my home on June 12, the installers discovered that the person who measured my rooms, had made mistakes by confusing the rooms and measurements so that the truck had the wrong carpeting, in the wrong amounts, and even some missing! I agreed to let them install what they had on the truck because I'd packed the house up in preparation, and my guests arrived in two days. The installers pulled out the old carpeting upstairs and exposed the sub floor in the hallway and my son's room. Then they rolled out the new carpeting to cut, and saw it was moldy and dirty. I decided not to continue with the installation. A new team of installers came out 2 weeks later and discovered the measurements of the rooms were mis-labeled and incorrect in places, and again carpeting was missing. After lengthy conversations with the Installers, I decided to visit my local store and speak directly to management, who said the installer would be back the next day with the correct carpeting, but likely they wouldn't have enough.(?) From June 12th (the original installation date) until now, July 7th my life has changed. I've been accepted to a Culinary School in California. I now need to rent my house to pay for my lodging while going to school. The color of carpeting that I originally chose is too light for a rental property, and so I asked if I could (as long as the carpet hasn't been installed yet) change the color. Management said that I could as long as I paid 20% restock fee ($1500!). I couldn't believe it. I suggested that if they'd installed the carpet on June 12th that I'd just accept the color, but since they hadn't--perhaps we could even split the restock fee? They refused. I reluctantly agreed to let them install them install the originally ordered carpet. I feel coerced. I STILL do not have carpeting in my home that I paid $8000 for in May! I have not heard from Home Depot, and my house is still packed. The graduation has come and gone, and still exposed staples and nails riddle the floor in my upstairs hallway and the entrance to my son's room. It's hazardous to walk. I told the management of Home Depot about this, and still no carpet. I feel disappointed, angry and have lost faith in Home Depot. Home Depot insisted that I pay 100% of the carpet and installation up front. If they didn't have my money--I'd choose to do business elsewhere. read more

As far as big box hardware stores go, I'd say this is one of the better ones. In general a lot of them tend to leave you on your own and nobody really knows where anything is. I've had a better experience with this in Home Depot's as opposed to the blue place. The staff is here is friendly, and the customer service desk is actually knowledgeable with the product on the floor. Good Hardware selection. I'd say my only negative is that it seems to be set out quite differently than any other that I've been to before. I'm familiar with it now so I pretty much know where things are but I have to somewhat recalibrate every time I first walk in. read more

This is your typical box store home improvement shop that is placing all the mom & pop stores out of business. Having said that I have yet to have a bad customer service experience at this store. The staff is always helpful and provides good advice with alternative solutions. The store is generally well organized and clean with signage around to display what is on the isles. I wish the mom & pop places were closer to where I lived, provided better pricing, etc as I always support the local business if I can. read more

Went to this Home Depot location just to pick up a set of pack outs I purchased the day before. While I was there I decided to get another 2. I paid over 800 and as I was attempting to leave one of the employees called to me. Saying "hey", giving me an judging look and raising his arms at me. Then proceeds to walk towards me. Where I'm from doing something like that is disrespectful and is someone looking to start a fight. This older man is not a friend nor is he someone I know. It wasn't til after that he asks me to show him my receipt. At the point I'm already upset. I tell him as calm as I could I came to pick up an order I made everything was paid for. And if he would of looked and done his job from the start instead of wasting time chatting it up with another customer that mostly all the boxes have a pickup label with my name on it. I'm sure that's not how Home Depot employees are trained. I've never had an experience like this at any Home Depot before in all the states I've been too. The problem isn't showing my receipt even at Walmart I show the employees my receipts if they ask in a professional manner. If he would of came up to me in a friendly manner saying "hey sir, may I see your receipt" there would of been no problem. But that was not what happened. He came all confrontational. It felt like he was already insinuating that I was stealing. I spoke to his manager about it cause that man needs to be trained again. I rarely leave reviews but I felt I had to after how rude that employee was. He does not need to be working the register if he doesn't know how to properly treat customers. read more

I purchased a GE range from this store the sensi technology plates in the center of the burner elements got discoloration from heat I called GE they said "That's a shame" offered to replace the parts but since I've had it less then one month I saw no point because they would only discolor again very poor design went in to they store management refused to even come and talk to me about it was told by store associate it's too bad but I was free to pursue anything I wanted with GE I've been a customer of Home Depot for many years have never been treated like that before I guess it's time to switch to another box store where they might actually care about there customers satisfaction! i walked into h/d at Acton Circle simply wanting to buy a washer & dryer. a brown skinned shoulder length black hair heavy set woman stepped up and what i thought was going to assist me decided to lie/trick and even tried to cheat me. i was told my w/d would be delivered saturday and after waiting most of the day the delivery never came. monday i went back to ask for a refund and was told they did not have w/d in stock so it couldn't be delivered ... my lie! i was also told my refund could take up to 10 busniss days. i did not receive my refund when i was told i would .... my being tricked! i finally had to get Chase involved in my refund and after an additional 4 weeks i finally did get my refund. i NEVER will return. not to return to a business who obviously doesn't want someones business. for some strange reason this woman cost h/d a $1600 sale. oh well, Lowes was appreciative to help me and collect the $1600 sale. i am now in search for a $2300 log splitter. h/d doesn't have a chance in h*ll for any further business ..... too bad ... i had been a customer at this h/d for several years. read more

I bought home depots best Vinyl Siding with insulation attached and new Soffit two years ago. The job took four months with multiple redos and their installer turned out to be a convicted felon who I now have three felony charges against for theft. Since the install the Siding has been coming loose. Currently 5 feet of soffit is falling down. The warranty service is poor, they make you wait for weeks for service, and when they came the last time to fix loose Siding when I was gone, they just pushed it back in place with no screws or nails to hold it in place leaving me to fix it myself. The Siding is high quality. read more

My husband and I went into the Home Depot in Asheville and they have horrible customer service. One kid just stood there and started while my husband tried to find whatever it was he was looking for. I saw him just standing there starring down the aisle at us so I began to say excuse me. He noticed I was talking to him, he turned his head as if he didn't hear me. I walked up to him and said excuse me are you able to help us? He says he'll get someone over right away. My husband and I stood there about 5 minutes before we heard over the intercom that we needed help on our aisle. Stood there another 12 minutes to see if we were going to get assisted while the guy that I spoke to just continued to stare. My husband decided it's best to leave since they were no help. While walking out, the guy that I asked for assistance just started at us waking out without trying to help my husband or anything. Thanks Home Depot. Your customer service sucks!! Went to this Home Depot today. I had some of the best customer service I have ever had. Walked in, people were smiling. It was a lovely Asheville afternoon, and the lawn and garden section was so well laid out and gorgeous. Everything was easy to fine and well organized. Went to the paint section, no wait at all. There were people being helped as the mixers were running, but Tina grabbed our order and we picked it up on the way out with our key/stick and extra paint label were all together on top of it. Then Pete helped us find twine and some home accessories, cool dude. And dang Coach near the door...I've never smiled going out the door before. You were so damn chipper and happy. We signed a contract with Home Depot to have our kitchen cabinets refaced for a whopping $15,000. Home Depot wasted no time in hitting our credit card for five thousand dollars before we had a scope of work in writing or an itemized list of what we were getting. The next day, on Wednesday, a second person came out to measure. Because he was in a hurry to get to his next job (he tried to cancel that appointment so he could finish with us but was told he could not), we were assured that he would draw up the plans and get them to us the next day on Thursday. NOT! The "boss" took off on Friday morning for a long weekend and did not get back to me until this morning, Monday. We were informed that they were canceling our contract because they could not work with us! We did, after all, ask for a written list of what we were getting for our $15,000! The two men who came to the house were professional and courteous but the business owner, Patty, was rude and snippy when we asked questions and asked for a scope of work in writing before payment. Home Depot demands payment in full before they even start the job which should be a red flag to anyone. (There's your sign!) My husband has been a self employed licensed contractor and accountant for 35 years and never does a job without a full written scope of work nor asks for final payment until all work is completed to the satisfaction of the customer. Buyer beware! Do not go to Home Depot for cabinet refacing which is a separate sub-contractor from the in-store kitchen cabinet department. Patty is very unprofessional and just wants your hard earned cash without the service that should go with it. We escaped in time. It could have been so much worse! read more

I really like this store . It is close by. The only problem I have had is I was gathering pressure treated wood for deck, The bottom run was almost empty. Couldn't find no one to let the next rack down or fill it. I was having to climb on the second rack and go through the material, let it down then get down and load it on the cart. This was a little aggravating , but sometimes it has to be done.What got me with this is 3 not 1 but 3 guys that work there started own the isle, seen me doing this and they turned around and went the other way then scattered. I'm disabled with my back as it is. This want happen again. If I cant find help or have them turn and walk the other way, I will be using a different store. read more

The West Asheville location has signs posted that they honor military veterans by offering a discount. My dad, a 72 year old army combat veteran, had his veteran card rejected because It was not marked "service related." It has an Army stamp, so we're not sure what "service related " is supposed to even mean. My dad was cool about it, but I'm livid. No vet needs to be humiliated this way. If you're not going to give a veteran discount based on a weird technicality, then just don't advertise a veterans discount in the first place. read more

If you are thinking about ordering an appliance from the Asheville Home Depot, spare yourself frustration, days lost at work, and hundreds of dollars in unnecessary contractor visits due to the complete ineptitude and terrible service of their delivery company, R&D. Home Depot employees themselves admit to ordering from Lowe's to avoid dealing with this delivery company, and that there is a years-long history of daily customer complaints regarding R&D delivery. Their incompetent delivery/haul away service has caused me miss to work 3 times over 3 weeks so they can show up and do nothing (once they didn't even knock on the door before driving away after I'd been waiting for a 4 hour window I'd taken off work for). The company lies and falsifies the records of their "service calls", they had me call a plumber and pay him over $100 just to tell me that the delivery service was too lazy to locate the water shutoff valve located under my sink, and, to make it all as frustrating as humanly possible, because you can only schedule a full week out after each time they make you miss work for nothing, I'm now outside the window where I can return the refrigerator and simply purchase one elsewhere, so I'm trapped in this frustrating situation looking for another company to haul away the old fridge and install the new one because I can't miss work again for R&D to show up and do nothing a week from now. While the employees of this Home Depot location have been very sympathetic (albeit powerless to help), the store continues to use a subcontractor with known and regular complaints, which means they are not interested in your experience a a customer. Seriously, go to Lowe's. This isn't worth it. With the amount of money I've lost in missed work and needless plumber calls, I could have bought a much nicer fridge and have had it installed a month ago. read more

I purchased a pressure washer here a few months ago. I've been in three times over the last 3 months trying to get them to resolve the issue. It broke the first time I used it... This last time I was told they were going to charge me and it would be 4-6 weeks to repair just the wand. The staff didn't want to take care of me or the issue. The folks in the service/rental area were condescending and rude. I was there to look at buying a new fridge and a ladder, but after they treated me like a nuisance I left.
