Bad Install--3 days of flooding from washing machine all over basement floor and HomeDepot is "Closed for the Holidays". I ask if I can call a local plumber. I have 4 appliances and a $25K boiler sitting in feet of water. They say, you can but we won't reimburse you. We MIGHT send you a gift card. I have used this company for my resort--lots of business--for a decade. I will NEVER use them again. It started leaking heavily day after install. I have been waiting 4 days for help. DISGUSTING. I would like to shout out one particularly kind human who helped me. His name is Erik. He is the night manager. I had a very complicated problem involving my AC unit. It involved Home Depot and another company and it seemed that everyone dropped the ball and did not want to help until i met Erik. By the time i called him, i had been hot for several weeks with no ac in a small ADU with animals i was worried about. It was very often hotter inside my little house than outside even when it was over 100. It didn't cold down at night very much so even with fans an d opening the door and one window for as long as possible before bed (I didn't have a screen door) it was always too hot. I would lay with literal ice packs all over my body and even on my dogs as they panted (sometimes it was actually hotter outside). I tried hosing down the roof (which helped a little), i bought cooling pads from PETCO and slept on one myself. This actually helped too. I tried whatever i could think and it began to consume my life as i patiently waited to hear more about my case and slowly began to lose my mind. I began to feel like i spent a lot of time in literal survival mode daily to keep myself and my animals not only alive but as comfortable as possible. I thought another AC unit was on the way to rescue me, but when i learned that no one had any answers, i called Home Depot Atascadero and met Erik. Erik listened patiently and was not bothered by my frustration and completely understood. He took considerable time to investigate the situation and figure out where things went wrong. He ended up coming back to me with a sincere apology where Home Depot had dropped the ball and a clear explanation about what he could figure out that happened. It finally made sense. Erik was the only one who helped. He delivered an immediate solution to my problem. He also delivered kindness and truth. Erik went above and beyond to help me. He understood my frustration and literally fixed the problem immediately. Humans like Erik are very rare in my experience. I went to this Home Depot to buy a couple of 4 x 8 masonite/hardwood boards & get them cut. I found 2 x 4 boards, but couldn't find the 4 x 8 sheets at first. I looked for a while. I asked a guy putting up items in the lumber section if he knew where they were. He said that he didn't work in the lumber section & that I should ask the guy with the black hoodie. I didn't see him, but eventually saw what looked like the boards in section 32, which was closed off. No one was working in the section. I waited for several minutes with 2 other people waiting to buy things from that section. I finally went to the front & talked to someone. He said that since no one was working in that section & there was no forklift in it, we could go in. I found what I needed & carried it to the wood cutting section. Then I finally found the black hoodie guy. He told me that the blade couldn't cut the board. I have been buying the sheets & getting them cut at Home Depots in 2 states over the last 30 years. They all have had the same cutting system. It has always worked just fine. He said that it would damage his blade. Basically, it took me much longer than it should have to find what I wanted because the section was closed off for no apparent reason & then was told I couldn't get it cut the same way I have dozens of times. Reserved a 6" wood chipper. When picking up clerk asked whether it was dry or green wood, I said both mostly dry and some mixed green branches up to 2" . He said it doesn't work on green branches, clogs it and "makes it dirty" and it was a new machine. SERIOUSLY?! Wouldn't rent it . What a joke. Will your branches and leaves make my machine dirty?? Went in today with a lamp from goodwill, was just looking for a lightbulb. Chuck helped me find one and we tested the lamp, I wouldn't turn on. I was pretty disappointed w/ this branch, even more so because I grew up here. I went in for a simple question, asked for someone to help me four times and on the last ask an older lady said she was coming back from her lunch break but that she'd get someone however, by then my brother had had it & explained that this was the fourth time I had asked for help & that we were going to just take a chance w/ the product & we'd be writing a negative review. The lady replied, " Well I'm moving anyway" We laughed thinking, wow, wrong answer which just proved our point. Set up a date for carpet measurement - it's a two-story house - measurement guy contacts my wife, and she directs him downstairs and tells him that the plumber is downstairs working and that he can let himself in - measurement guy knocks on downstairs door - no response so he leaves - two minutes after contacting my wife. This is the perfect example of someone that does not want to do their job and makes Home Depot look bad. It's fine, I will simply give my money to someone else. I've spent over 15K in the past 10 months on renovation supplies from Home Depot. Until now, I've continued to give them my hard earned $$$ despite there never being anyone who has actually offered to help me in the dozens of times I have been in the store. This last order was the final straw. I special ordered a bath/shower door in August. The website stated that it would be in within a week or so. Having never received a phone call, I checked my online order and it kept saying that my order was partially received at the Atascadero store. I finally get ahold of customer service and they tell me that they "lost" my shipment. No other explanation but to say that they would re-order it for me. Fine. I was annoyed but it wasn't the end of the world. Fast forward to yesterday. The same partial order received message popping up on the website. I sent my contractor to pick it up despite the message and he was told that it was already sent back! So you receive a product, don't notify anyone, then just send it back? Does this sound like a good business model to you? WTF Home Depot!?!?! You don't call, do don't write... But seriously. Y'all need to get your $hit together. We have used their free curbside order pick-up service. It is easy, quick and convenient. Most warehouse stores are pretty much average, but since the associates at this location are friendly, helpful & knowledgeable, an added star is definitely in order. read more

Clearly, there's been an indisputable uptick in pandemic spread, including in our area. A renewed order went out requiring that people wear masks in public places, especially if they'll be going into an enclosed facility. Reasonable and necessary measures to keep us all safe ... one would think. But safety measures are only as good as the people who adhere to them. So if staff stands around, unmasked, talking to each other less than two feet apart, and allow in -- despite clear signage to mask up -- customers who couldn't care less and don't, then it's a pretty clear indication that it cuts both ways. Shining example!!! Today I stopped by this Home Depot (I never go to this one) and walked through the entire store without a "May I help you?" yet the moment a female employee stopped what she was doing to ask if I needed help was exactly when I needed help! Haha! The employee offered help with actual eye contact and not only did she help, she literally assembled all the parts I needed, while walking from section to section, made suggestions along the way, was very helpful and kind the entire time. I told her I would follow her to any section of the store because I had no idea how to fix my problem and she was very knowledgeable and understood my problem even with my bad explanation. On top of it all, the parts fit perfectly and I'm back in business now. I may just make this store my new home base store of all the staff was more like that. Thanks Home-depot! read more

Went in this morning to pick up an online order and was helped if that's what you wanna call it buy a woman name Christina, she never once looked at me much less even a hint of a smile and I figured well maybe she's had a bad morning, then she proceeds to tell me that my order was picked up and I said that's impossible unless you gave it to the wrong person, and then says my order has been sent back. Then the next thing is half my order has been sent back, but she just couldn't find the order or number at that point she walked away to help another customer and just left me standing there, at about that time a associate came over to help ,I didn't get his name, but he had a tattoo of a seven on his neck, he was AWESOME! five minutes later I was walking out of the store with my order. Poor customer service. Multiple service reps approached us and "disappeared" soon after. Finally, we decided to find the item ourselves. While grabbing it from the shelf, another rep came by and asked if we needed help but "I'm going on lunch". I told her that we didn't need her help and I was going to write a poor customer service review on Yelp. She said (while walking away), "I'm moving away anyways." My bf and I first went to Lowe's to look for a tree just because it was closer to our house but their selection was so sad.. they barely had any tress left, only little 3 feet ones. We ended up making the drive to Home Depot instead and I'm so glad we did!!! They had a GREAT selection of trees of all sizes and types. Even found a pretty wreath for $20!! We paid $70 for our Noble Fir Xmas tree that is about 7 feet tall and another $15 for the stand which I thought was a good deal :) Totally recommend coming here for your Christmas tree needs!! :) HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! read more

I've been shopping at home Depot in atascadero for 17 yrs. I spend 1000s a year at this store. Today I needed some more PVC fittings and I had to bring in one of the pieces I bought yesterday to make sure it fit. When using the self checkout I was called a thief by a 17 yr old idiot who somehow got my credit card info and claimed I didn't buy the $1.35 PVC coupling that I bought yesterday. She told me it wasn't on my credit card. I asked her how she got my credit card and she didn't tell me accept to say I didn't pay for the item. I told her I used a different card that my wife had in the car. She called me a thief in front of customers and employees for a PVC coupling I brought in and showed the camera as I entered. I was r to know how this little bitch got my credit card purchase history shen I never gave my card. The manager didn't do shit about it and started to blame me for being pissed about why she had my card info. Tomorrow I'm calling the corporate office to file a complaint with them. I've never stolen anything from home Depot. I pay for every washer. Now I'm a thief according to them. I'm really pissed. read more

The Home Depot is the type of hardware store that you go to to get a great deal. It certainly is not the store that you would go to for an expert opinion. Actually you might not get much help even if your looking for a product that they already have in the store. For instance yesterday I had to pick up a few select items and I finally found a worker near a cash register and ask for shelving. She pulled out her phone and an app and said what type of shelving? I said wood shelving. And she stated, plastic shelving? And I said no actually I need wood shelving. So finally her app told her where shelving is kept and she said all of our shelving is on aisle 43. On aisle 43 I found of course, plastic shelving. Anyway if you want cheaper wood, cheaper paint, a cheaper version of power tools, any consumable hardware type products and you know exactly what it is, what you need, then the Home Depot is probably a okay place to shop. If you need help in understanding what type of tool you need to, what type of coupling, screw, nail, chemical, our anything else that has to do with hardware, this is definitely not the place to shop. The workers not only have little clue as to how to complete projects, they probably don't know what you need to complete a projects, and there is a good chance that if you know what you need, they won't know where to get it. read more

We've been coming to Home Depot since it's opening in Atascadero. It's a nice place for DIY'ers. Usually the customer service is ok. Lowes is better in my experience. Prices are competitive with Lowe's. Usually I get what I need ,except during COVID times , which it was miracle to find anything anywhere. What do I like about Home Depot: 1) their app tells me if it's in stock at store and it's location. 2) prices are decent. 3) it's in Atascadero. 4) it has most things I need.
