Recently, I've had a few above average experiences, where store employees have help load my truck with pavers and concrete border, which was great customer service, but it's the exception. Wandering aisles looking for help can get frustrating, needing help in plumbing and ending up in electrical because there is no one around has caused me to leave the store more than once. Rarely will I visit Lowe's without knowing what I need and where it is, the mobile app has come in handy. Again, that's a lack of customer service, if I have to turn to my app for help. Returns have been very easy, which is nice, using my Lowe's Reward, especially if I no longer have the receipt. Self checkout is hit and miss, if there is an item that doesn't have a SKU and they need to look it up. Even if I present them with a picture of the item and stock number, they still feel the need to look it up. Policy? Maybe but my time is valuable. Overall, if you don't need sale help, the big box store is average. Go in knowing what you need and it's a good experience. Don't go in expecting knowledgable, readily available sales associates.

The inventory quantity (or location on the shelves) doesn't even remotely match the app. Many products on the shelves are broken - especially bricks, pavers, lumbar, etc. Doesn't seem like anyone monitors inventory or quality control. So unlike other Lowe's we have visited over the years. Good luck trying to find an employee willing to help. Most walk right by and won't make eye contact. Trying to reach someone by phone is even worse. Our most recent (and last!) purchasing experience was atrocious. Waited almost an hour to buy a dishwasher. Ended up purchasing it online since no one would help us (or the three other families trying to purchase appliances that afternoon). Upon delivery the dishwasher arrived damaged so the plumber had to cap our line while waiting for another to be shipped. While we waited, the cap burst, flooding our kitchen & ruining our hardwood floors. So that added a HUGE headache to get cleaned up safely and repaired - and was not handled well by Dominic or other Lowe's employees we engaged with. After THREE deliveries of consistently damaged dishwashers, (over almost two months time) we decided to purchase instead from Idlers. What a difference!! They match prices. They deliver pristine appliances transported carefully and install them with care. Their install team was incredible - truly went above & beyond and made us realize just how low the bar is at Lowe's. Save yourself major hassle by going to Idlers instead. You won't pay a penny more but they will treat you, your purchase, and your home with respect. You actually build a relationship with their sales team and want you to call them directly if any issues arise. We are so glad we found another option. Unfortunately this Lowe's is a huge NO for us. It's worth the drive to go somewhere - anywhere (!) - else.

Eventually after browsing, we made it back to the rocksalt area... And we were met by Chris a manager who said that the salt is on back order, but will be here Friday. Throughout the entire conversation, he was happy, and composed, and extremely helpful. We asked him a question about the rocking chair that we passed and he said it might be on sale. If they don't have that one left in stock, we can actually take that one off the floor. He offered that because we asked for that one, so I didn't have to put it together! He understood why we wanted the assembled one. He ran back to the back room and checked, and the one on the floor was the only one left so we would get it for a discount he said. He checked and then said...said we are going to give you $50 off! We didn't even ask that yet! This made our day as did the thorough explanation about the rock salt being not being available but explaining about shipping rotation that will be happening in the future to avoid depletion of their stock. Next thing Dave walks out to our car and helped us get the chair into the car. " A hatchback". His help is greatly appreciated and again we did not ask for help they just volunteered. Two were delivered the following week, but the other two never arrived. After we were told several times before purchase - that it would not be a problem to deliver the other two pots. Over the next two months, we stopped by the store several times, called multiple times, and were repeatedly told the same thing: they're on order, we'll follow up, we'll call you next week. We had to initiate the communicating. Today, my husband called again hoping to finally get an answer. Instead, he was met with a dismissive attitude, the issue was blamed on the corporate office, and he was made to feel like he was the problem for asking about merchandise we had already paid for. Delays happen--we understand that. What isn't acceptable is taking a customer's money, repeatedly promising to follow up, never communicating, and then treating that customer poorly when they ask for an update. The saddest part is that I loved this store, especially the garden center, and intentionally chose to support it. After months of patience and broken promises, that trust is gone. I hope management realizes that good customer service starts with communication and accountability.

We've been buying our Christmas tree from Hopper in Paso Robles for just about 25 years. Less expensive, but you don't know what you're getting once the tree is removed from the netting. You know exactly what you're choosing from Hopper Brothers, and the prices were better this year. The trees stay healthy if you take care of them, and we don't have to cut it down ourselves. Yes, we did give our family that experience back when they were young, but nearing retirement age means I'd prefer the tree already be cut and ready to take home! Take in a wrapped present or canned/boxed foot item and one of their coupons, and Hopper also offers a discount. Merry Christmas!
