Home Depot has always been SUPER friendly to me over many locations, and this location is no exception. Their prices are affordable and their staff members are good at helping "doers get more done". There are a few points that they could improve upon, such as making sure the shelves stay stocked so I don't have to get a rep to help get an item down, and not leaving a forklift in the middle of an isle so I cannot get my cart past, but compared to their friendless and helpfulness at getting me what I need, I will not criticize them more than a mention. I am a disabled 73 year old male, I do not look disabled except a small limp, I was on full disability for 2 years at the age of 21. I lost my right hip to 4th degree burns, my right foot was ripped off but put back on lost the use of my right hand, but I did not want to stay on disability, I fought continually for a coupe years and was able to get gainfully employed 50 years ago. I have never applied for handicap placards or asked for help until yesterday at home depot to get a couple of green peeler fence posts. so I asked an employee of home depot who also had white hair and the first thing he did was size me up and must have thought I did not need hep. I was told to drive over to the loading area and the helper came there with two on worst post I have ever seen. lthle posts had splits that ran the length of the posts. when I walked to te back of my van the helper just nodded his head in the direction of the posts. long story short posts were loaded. took them home and looked the new posts looked worse then the posts I wanted to replace. long story short, I am done with home depot and a new lowes customer. Coming to Home Depot is always a treat for me. My recent shopping trip, I was in one of my moods and just wanted to get in, get what I wanted, and get out. I work so much, I really just wanted to get a few pots for my pants at home, some dirt, and move on. This shopping trip was so quick, I easily found some nice indoor pots for my monstera plants at a really good price! I usually have a grand ol time whether I'm looking at flooring, appliances, electrical... lamps, lighting. There are so sorts of things to find here to improve your home! ... but every once in a while.... In the garden area, they have quite a few check out stands. Some are self check out and when I approached, there was an employee that insisted on helping, not knowing I was trying to be left alone. I told her I was going to do self check out. As she was watching me, she jumped in and told me that I didn't scan one of the 4 pots that was in my cart. I told her if she had looked at the screen, it would show I had scanned it already. I stood aside and asked her if she wanted to count the items in my cart and count the items in the screen. She said no and went on that she thought I missed it and customers do sometimes make mistakes... I replied with, "so do employees, like right now..." I think this employee was irritated I did not want her help. I felt pretty uncomfortable. I was already not in a good mood and this person was crowding and hovering over me. Just ask around awkward and very negative. Other than that particular experience, I enjoy the garden section the most. All the beautiful colors, the seasonal plants are gorgeous... the help I have received with deciding on what misters to get. Which refrigerator, which washer and dryer. Grill and black stone accessories... I really appreciate the help and advice I have received and am now looking at cabinets! See you guys soon!! read more

Never Again! hired Home Depot to do my kitchen remodel. from the very beginning, there were big problems with this entire process. To begin with, you took them four months to even get started, even though they demanded payment in full before anything was done. I kept calling and asking for a start date and they seemed to have amnesia. Finally, I got the first group of workers out, but nobody seemed to know what they were doing. Each phase of the project was filled with major problems, mistakes, and poor workmanship. Each time I tried to get a problem resolved it was again as if nobody knew what project I was talking about. It's been almost a year and I still have unresolved issues with this remodel. every single thing that could have possibly gone wrong did, and then even more. There's too much stuff stacked in the main aisles. It's hard to navigate when the store is busy. Sometimes they even stack stuff down the middle of the lumber aisle so that you can barely move your cart around and you can't stop and load lumber without getting in the way of people trying to squeeze through. It's nice that they want to make it seem like there are great deals to be had, but this isn't a good way to do it. read more

When you place an order online and choose curbside pickup and you let them know 10 min before you're on your way, let the know you're there all via the app. Wait another 20 min to then have to go into the store, then wait another 10 min, not a time saver but I will say they were very apologetic and kind. Yeah, it goes without saying that if you need custom cabinets, Home Depot is not the place to go. We had them custom order our cabinets, sat down with their cabinet person for 3.5 hours and designed "custom cabinets" only for them to come and the things that were "custom" either didn't fit, or was done poorly. Then, when you call them and complain, they say that your 5 figure cabinet set that you just purchased is "semi-custom" and there's nothing they can do. Which is fine, just would have been nice to know before dropping $10k+ in cabinets. Horrible customer service, uninformed employees, and too much hassle. Ongoing problem with delivery and customer service. The end panel that they sent with the original order did not match the cabinets. When entering my kitchen, you notice it before your eyes are drawn to the cabinets because it is so light it looks like cardboard or just a cheap, different type of wood. Sorry I can't show a picture because I don't know how to put it in my computer. We still don't have a sink, or water. The end piece is another 6 weeks. The original order for the cabinets and countertop was placed last year! Do not buy Kraft Maid or use Home Depot unless you don't care about customer service or quality. read more

ONLY after I submitted a 1star review did anyone attempt to help me regarding my custom window coverings that were ordered in the incorrect size. November 5th I received 2 calls from Home Depot, one from Roman and one from Eric, both left voicemails for me to contact them. The next day I called Home Depot and attempted to reach one of the guys but once again, nobody picked up the phone so I left a voicemail message. Nobody ever returned my call. On November 14th, Angelo called me but it was ONLY because I filed a dispute with my credit card company. This Home Depot had deplorable customer service and only attempts to help customers after complaints have been made. I've been here numerous times since moving to Auburn 6 months ago. I've always had a good experience and pleasant interactions with helpful staff. That is, until today when an employee at the self checkout accused me of stealing. I had a large cart with 10' PVC pipe and a bunch of 2' rebar. I was making two separate purchases. I rung up and paid for the PVC and was about to do the rebar when she stood in front of my cart as if to block me, asking if I paid for it. I told her I intended to "search" it on the screen. I didn't know you weren't able to do that, I don't work for Home Depot. I assumed I could since you can do it at pretty much any other store in self checkout. She asked why I "hid" the rebar inside the PVC. I kindly explained I had the rebar inside the PVC to keep it from rolling off the cart as I maneuver the store and that I intentionally left out 2 pieces to remind me of the size and length rebar that needed to be rung up. She then got several other employees involved and scoffed as she made statements about how she's worked there for 10+ years and you cannot "search" for rebar. It must be manually entered by an employee. Okay. How am I supposed to know that? Why the need to further embarrass me for making an honest mistake? Had she given me 30 more seconds to realize I couldn't search it on my end, I would have asked for help. She continued on, involving other employees and loudly asking "hey 'so-and-so' can you search for rebar? Yeah, didn't think so." Another female employee intervened and nicely explained she would need to manually input it. I kindly said "great, can you help me then?" The woman who helped me ring it up was very kind and made no issue of it. I should have gotten her name. I'm uncertain as to why the former employee jumped to the conclusion that I was stealing as opposed to kindly inquiring if I needed help. I'm sure she was just doing her job and felt a need to step up, but sadly, one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch. Can't say that I'll be back. read more

Spent over an hour on hold for them to hang up before answering three separate times in one day, then while picking up materials they told me to wait in the loading bay, 45 minutes later they brought out almost my full order when it was 3 small boxes missing. Sometimes it's next to impossible to get any kind of assistance at Home Depot. Finding somebody is the first challenge. A couple weekends ago I placed an order ahead of time for 16 bags of mulch. I placed it as a curbside pick up, thinking that this disabled girl would get some assistance loading that way and it wouldn't take too long to get the order together. Yeah... Six hours later, they notified me it was ready. (Wtf the day was shot by then!!). I'm not sure what was going on in the garden department, but the helpers refused to help. One of the cashiers, Cyndi (I think) was desperately seeking help for me. I ended up with the manager (& I think) Steve- after 20 minutes of waiting. Two days later we need six more bags. Needless to say it was another struggle getting assistance. After 20 minutes of searching, and or waiting for somebody, a lady named Pam with a smiling face who was doing something else, stopped what she was doing, and looked at me and cheerfully said "I can help you!". Oh man- you need a a lot more of her Home Depot!!! Seriously! Damn- take care of your customers! Where would you be without them?! Thank you, Pam. Much appreciated. read more

I have become a Pro Xtra member and do enjoy the added service as I rebuild my property. These guys have just about everything, Amazon does beat them in price but when you need something, you need something. They have been extremely helpful w large wood orders and have gone out of their way for prompt delivery to replace my deck and the paint department has been very helpful. Most of the staff are former contractors so they know their stuff and are helpful, you need to search them out when you need help. I had to return a few items due mainly to over purchases, no Swett. First of all, never make a special order at this store. We ordered a skylight. Gave measurements. First time, it was wrong. OK. That happens. My husband went over the measurements and, again, the measurements were written into the work order. We went to pick up the second skylight. Again, it is wrong. We were told we'd be called the next day by the people who deal with those items. Still haven't been called back 3 days later. Couldn't get a hold of corporate. Why would we be able to? My husband called the store a half dozen times today and is disconnected each time. Hopefully, third time is a charm, but I'm not holding my breath. I went to Home Depot today to purchase a whiteboard. The gentleman that I asked if he could show me where it was located was very rude, I told him hello and asked him how he was doing today, he stated well that depends what do you want? After finding the whiteboard I want to check out the lady at self check out with purple hair also very rude. I had gone to one machine at first not real realizing that it was out of service because someone was there before me. She rudely told me that I had to wait my turn and I would get out of here soon. I told her that I was sorry I didn't realize that it was out of service. When I was finally able to get to register and check out, she came over to me and said see I told you you would get out of here soon and when my card for the purchase went through, she said oh look in you're approved. The only good experience I have there today was after I found the whiteboard. They missed their own appointment for delivery, and on the second attempt the driver parked in front of my house and then drove away, hung up on my wife and then blocked our numbers. I'm in the middle of a remodel & go to this store every weekend, sometimes multiple visits in a day. The stars are for the (mostly) wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable staff. But I HATE GOING TO THIS STORE!! They let every idiot with an out of control mutt into this place. It's a damn zoo! I've literally seen a dog fight in a aisle I needed to get a saw blade from & I've seen POOP on the floor. Trained service dogs are more well behaved than the animals who bring their pets to this Home Depot location every weekend. Edit: I actually love dogs & have a dog! But I wouldn't dream of taking it with me to Home Depot every weekend so it can bark at people, get in a dog fight or get nervous & crap on the floor!! read more

Went into the store and was looking for keyless door knobs. We ask the 1st person "could you please tell me what isle would we find the door knobs" the lady said isle 6. Went to isle 6, there was cabinets hinges and no door knobs.. The next person, was in the paint section, she acted as if we were wasting her time she said "What" asked the same question, was sent us to isle 30. No door knobs on 30. Now going from one end of the store to the other, this was a horrific, unnecessary event. Now I understand why people say Just go to Ace they know their store and are extremely helpful.They deserve no Stars, this has not happened only once . read more

Went to home depot in auburn for some samples for our bathroom remodel. I had looked online last night and knew what samples i needed to grab. Once at store, i looked all over for the samples i needed. Couldnt find them so i picked something else. Looking on shelves for samples, none. So i ask for help...nobody i found worked in tile. Had a lady call for tile person. Waited 10 mins. Nobody came. Finally a lady comes over and i ask about samples for the tile i found. She looks at wall and tells me that any product that says "order online" home depot doesnt have in stock. I walked out. How are doers suppose to get anything done if they have to order online and wait for delivery?? Why wasnt the product i found online labeled as " order online only"? Rented a truck from the rental area of the store. What a pleasure it was doing business with Fred! Fred explained everything about the rental and gave advice on driving the truck and what to watch for, wide turns and side mirrors. He was professional and entertaining all in one. I left Home Depot with the biggest smile on my face. When I returned I was so happy to see Fred's friendly face again. He explained all about the bill and the charges involved, no surprises. I purchased a beautiful washer / dryer set from Home Depot 12 weeks ago. The delivery was back logged 3 weeks. I was ok with that wait. I received and email with my delivery window the day before, 12-4 But on delivery day, no one showed or called. I called at 3:45 to check in and I was told they were still within their delivery window. The next thing I know, it's 5 pm and no one called or showed up. When I called back the office was closed. When I got a hold of someone the next day there was no apology, but a reschedule date was made for the next week. Again, the day before I was given a window of 12pm-4pm. Guess what?! I called at 12pm and 3pm and was told they were on their way. At 4:30pm no one had shown up and no one had called. I called the delivery service again and they offered me a delivery date 2 full weeks away. I went to HD and asked for a refund. I eventually purchased the exact set from RC Willey. Received it less than 2 weeks later. I needed to purchase some supplies for my dryer vent and my mother and I went to Home Depot for this. I spoke to the first person that approached me and asked if I had questions. My mother started to explain and ask some questions and the man was so curt and rude to my mother that I grabbed her arm and said we are leaving. I am DISGUSTED by this store and its employees. I was mortified by how rude a 50-60 year old man that was wearing a HD apron and name tag spoke to my mother. I will never visit this store again. I will always just use the local ACE hardware and RC Willey from now on. I hate that I have to leave a single star- I wish I could leave none! read more

When I was looking for a headphone adapter to listen to my music & charge my iPhone at the same time I had to ask several different employees because none of them knew where it actually was in the store. I find Home Depot's stupid rules to be absolutely ridiculous! Just because I did not buy a new water hose to hook up to my new washing machine, the installers would not hook up my new washing machine. What difference does it make? There is absolutely nothing wrong with the water hose from my old washing machine. Home Depot just wants me to spend more $$ and get richer off of me for something I don't need. And the existing pedestal from my old washing machine fits my new washing machine. But because I didn't spend more $$ so Home Depot could get even more richer off of me, they wouldn't put my new washing machine on top of my existing pedestal. I'm pretty much through with Home Depot. I'm not one who is sue happy and would have been more than grateful for them to help me. But for me to have to spend more $$ for things that I didn't need because I already had them and there's nothing wrong with them is totally uncalled for and a terrible way for Home Depot to do business. Especially in these terrible economic times thanks to the Biden administration. I have spent thousands of dollars in the past at Home Depot doing a remodel. But now, I'm done with Home Depot and their bullshit and will be shopping elsewhere after this purchase. My $$ is as green as everyone else's. Had I known I was going to get this kind of service (or I should say NON-SERVICE) I would have gone elsewhere to begin with! Once my new washing machine is paid off, I will be closing my Home Depot card and never shop at Home Depot again. At least the delivery guys were nice and understanding. I don't blame them at all. This store helps highlight why online companies like Amazon are so successful. I've fought through it for years now but today, I've decided, I'm done. They have literally forced me to move on to other, online options or company. I can handle the long lines, the lack of items available, the lack of employees available and a number of other things but I cannot handle a store that doesn't trust their customer and forces them to "prove it". Today I just wanted some Treager wood pellets. I saw if you buy 4 the "bulk" price was $14.96 vs. $18. I grabbed 4 and went to the register in garden. They rang up $18. I explain to the cashier that they should be $14. She said I'd need YOU to go take a picture of the label or sign. I was a bit confused as there were people waiting in line behind me. I asked if I was supposed to do that right now, and she sternly stated that I wouldn't get it at that price until she could see the label. She also said she couldn't leave a register. Okay...I ran to go get a picture of the tag and then ran back. Showed her the picture and she typed some stuff into the register. She then quickly stated, ya, that's what I thought. It's for a boxed item not bagged. I thought to myself, okay not my problem but then she said hat it was for the item above. Huh? The item above is a Treager grill cover...not only that, but they're four different pallets that all say the same damn thing! I sarcastically asked if I should go back and take another picture. She said yes. I couldn't believe it. I went back and had an employee call a manager. Manager came and said that she wasn't sure what the cashier was talking about. At this point, I'm going to be late picking up my daughter so I'm pretty angry. The manager tells ME to tell the cashier to call "102." I yelled...sure, it seems I'm doing everyone else's job already, so I'll do that too. I get back to garden and there are four people ahead of me. I'm about ready to walk but the manager that I had spoke, arrived as well...she walked right by me and said something to the cashier. I was thinking, okay cool, she's going to jump on a register and check me out...nope, walks right by me again not saying a word. About 5 minutes later I get to the register and the cashier says, sorry, we're required to ask for a picture. I said, but I gave you a picture with a confused look on my face...she mumbled something and then said most people don't even waist the time. What. A. Joke. That's fine though. Don't trust me while you're banking on the customer being too lazy to call your ass out. I'm done with you and will ensure the rest of my family is as well. read more

If you are looking to build a boat then they have the lumber for it. Out of 30 or so pieces I found 3 boards I needed that were semi straight. The isles were full of carts that had lumber on them that belonged to nobody and employees standing around talking shop and doing nothing to straighten the isles up. The slots that were supposed to to house the boards I was looking for were unorganized with broken pieces and other sizes. Will give the Roseville Home Depot a shot for lumber until this one gets organized and decent boards! read more
