This is a decent home depot. It has decent parking , good lighting , decent prices and the customer service is fine. I've only been here at this location a few times and there isn't anything that really stands out . Maybe if I was here more frequently I would have better insight. I'd give it zero stars if I can. I ordered a special order door for my house. I spent over $4000 on it. When it arrived at my house, my son and my wife needed to help the delivery guy take it off the truck and place it in my garage until my installer can install it. When my installer and I unwrapped it to install it after taking my old door out, we noticed a dent on the door itself and not on the sidelights or the transit on top. I'm surprised at some of the reviews on here! Within the past two years I've had assistance in the washer/dryer and paint department and both were extremely pleasant. I think as long as you are nice to the workers they are nice to you! I wish I remembered his name but the employee at the washer/dryer Dept was honest, diligent and very helpful. The paint department employees also really worked with me to find the right wood stain for my project. I will update this review once I go back to HD after this Covid pandemic blows over somewhat with names.The short haired woman at the paint Dept was so nice to my 2 young children, which helped in picking my stain color with no distractions! read more

The Appliance associate Mr Tim Abbinanti was extremely knowledgeable and helpful as I reviewed my options. He was very courteous and not pushy but listened intently and offered suggestions through out the selection and purchasing process. I've almost always had a great experience at this place. However, today when I went in to do a return I can't say that the cashier Mayela was very much helpful let alone friendly. She had a very dry unhappy look, it was by far warm or helpful. When I asked for a cart to bring in some large returns she said oh you'll have to go find one. Not even offered to help me with one or get someone that can help me. Instead it was "you'll have to go look for it yourself". When I finally was able to hunt one down and take it outside to bring my large heavy items all by myself she was very short and unfriendly when trying to do my return. I really think they need to replace her because she has no real customer service skills. If she she does and she completely failed I'm showing that. I really hope that future associates I encounter aren't as dry and then unfriendly as her. I'm going to continue coming here and hope that the service is just limited to her. read more

This Home Depot is awful. If you're a woman, avoid shopping here because any employee will avoid helping you or asking if you need any assistance with anything. Any time I went to ask an associate for assistance with finding the products I needed, they avoided eye contact, went down different aisles, acted as if they didn't hear me, looked at their phones, and just walked past even though I was very CLEARLY in need of assistance. In my 30 minutes in the store, I counted 6 employees that walked past me and not once did they interact with me or ask if I needed assistance. Yes, I could have asked for assistance, but I was trying to look at items and figure it out for myself. Not one person asked if I was finding everything okay. I left the store FUMING, went home and continued to have more issues with ordering online, and had to go BACK to this awful place a 2nd time within 2 hours of each other. Luckily, Itzel and Chissell were in customer service and were very helpful. They got to the bottom of my problem when literally NO ONE ELSE WOULD. The ONLY reason I would shop here again is if Chissell and Itzel were the only associates I would have to interact with. read more

I had the best shopping experience at Home Depot in Aurora (Orchard Rd) today. I have been shopping here for most of my projects for the last eighteen years. I was a little nervous as I walked in the door at 7AM this morning. This project is the biggest one I have ever done and I am responsible for buying all the material. As I walked in the door, they directed me to the "PRO Desk" where I met with Max. Max looked at my one page list of material and did not have many questions about the list, he knew what I was looking for. He was very patient with me, put the order thru and scheduled the delivery and not only that, he followed up with a phone call that afternoon. I've never had a problem finding what I needed here. Very good stock but higher than typical prices. Look for deals! Staff is ALWAYS asking what we need or are looking for. *Best tip-Try not to go during busy times if you need attention quickly. Just called kitchen and tile dept and asked them to hold tiles for me as they were running low in stock and needed them asap! An Associate named Raymond helped me out and was more than willing to do measurement over the phone for what I needed and happily offered to take it up front to hold it! A++ read more

I'm done with this place. Today is 3/13 and I had the rudest lady help me at the self check out. I believe her name was patti. Couldn't tell because she hid her name tag from me. Came in asking for some water softener salt and she proceeded to be snippy and ask "what kind?". I replied nicely "water softener salt." She replied snippy and rudely "what color?" I proceeded to tell her and she rudely said "go pay over there." I come here out of convince. I'll gladly start driving over to menards in oswego/Montgomery. Prices and customer service are 1000x better anyway. Furthermore every time I come in here it is nothing but a bunch of idiots who don't know anything about their department and don't know where anything is in the store. LOVE LOVE LOVE this store! I bought my first home this past November and EVERY inch of it (even the bathrooms) was covered in wallpaper. Through ripping down paper, repainting, tearing out carpet, patching plaster and beyond, the people here have been able to point me in the right direction and have always had what I needed in stock. The service is extremely friendly and everyone I've dealt with has been willing to go the extra mile. Not always the cheapest place, but then again, when you "save big money" you usually have to exchange an item 3 times before you get one that works. read more

The Propane never works at this store. They keep saying they are going to fix it but it's been over a year and I always have to ask for an associate. Then even when I ask it takes 10 mintues plus for an associate to come out even though there are multiple people standing around at the registers. Compared to Ace where they actually fill it promptly with maybe 75% less staff its hilarious. read more

Left my wallet on the counter at self checkout on halloween evening when the place was EMPTY and the self checkout attendant was staring right at me as I was literally the only person there, at this location they stand behind the self checkout or she was that day and I was at the checkout immediately in front of her. Got to Walmart and realized what I'd done. Called this Home Depot, immediate attitude. Remember the place is dead empty. I tell them I'm coming back in 5 minutes. Wallet is gone no one saw anything. Assistant manager in charge of the store at the time tells me he has to call his offsite security manager to see the tapes. I'm panicking and everyone can see it and in fact the place is still empty and no less than 5 employees came to watch the excitement. He says he'll text this offsite person who has the only access to the security tapes isn't answering his texts and someone says someone needs some key and he says he'll be back in a few minutes(!?). This guy is strangely unenthusiastic or concerned. Comes back takes my name and says someone will call me the next day which never happened ie if there really had been an offsite security officer who was contacted about a wallet left right in front of 10 cameras with literally no one but me and one other customer in the store, he would definitely have called me. The Oswego police called me a half hour later to say someone brought the wallet in with no money in it. There was $400 cash in it. Bottom line the freaking ASSISTANT MANAGER IN CHARGE OF THE STORE ON HALLOWEEN 2019 EVENING STOLE MY DAMN WALLET. 100% no question. Overweight youngish white guy. I should have followed up, the Aurora police offered to meet me there and stress the management but I was already out a day messing around with the credit and debit cards I had already cancelled when Oswego police called me which couldn't be turned back on. read more

I went to this Home Depot to rent a drill because the bolt on my wife's license plate was so tight it had to be drilled out I went to AutoZone they didn't help that much so I went there with the anticipation to having to rent a grill not only did I did not have to rent the drill but the guys at Home Depot in the rental tool department help me with the license plate that is quality customer service that's just not seen that often anymore I really do appreciate it and I hope that this review helps. The home depot online purchase system is a pain. Ordered 3 items to get free freight. One item was shipped to me (freight charged) and the other 2 scheduled for in-store pickup. Tried to cancel and replace the order, or pick it all up in the store since I had to go there for part, and Home Depot would not cancel the order! I used to like this store but the help they gave my grandpa was just sad. He ordered a bunch of deck rail and gave them all measurements and specs to make it easy. Took 6 weeks to come in and it was still missing stuff along with stuff that was not even on the order. Then took another 3 weeks for the correct stuff to come. Nobody could find his order and then his order was supposed to be delivered and he had to get it. Sad sad world a war vet cant get help or assistance with this and has to deal with people that just dont care. Nice job home depot read more

Lost my business after trying to rent a penske truck yesterday to deliver about $600 of construction material from your store and to move some items. You have some very talented employees who provide great service, but it ceases to amaze me you have alot of employees who stand around and do nothing for the customer. 1 hour to check out a Penske truck and then having the current damages on the truck not documented on the paper work really makes me question some of your hires commitment to customer service. I would like to preface this review buy saying I'm not a professional contractor or anything, but I am a homeowner who prefers to tackle my home projects on my own to save time and money. I've been frequenting this particular location since it's been open, it's very close to my previous house and my current house. I've always loved shopping here because of the selection, prices and my ability to get the help I need it with questions I don't know the answer to. Unfortunately over around the last year or so something has really changed for the worse. It seems like every time I go in there now an employee is nowhere to be found the last time I was there I was needing some help with power tools and I had to walk all the way to the flooring department before I even saw an employee, there was a nice gentleman at the flooring desk who was trying to help two people at the same time and told me he'd help me as soon as he could and apologized because he was covering 3 departments at the same time. Normally when I go in there now, I just go to the contractor service desk because someone there can usually answer my question or help me find an employee for the department I need help in, but sometimes I come in later at night when no one is there and I have to find help on my own. I'm not normally one to complain or write bad reviews, but it's like this almost every time I go there now and I'm hoping maybe someone higher up will read this. This store used to be my favorite place and was head and shoulders above most other retail places, but now it just seems like a Walmart with different products. ((( THE WORST HOME DEPOT WE'VE EVER BEEN IN! HORRIBLE ALL THE WAY AROUND! ))) The ONLY REASON I even gave this crummy one my business is our new bathroom contractor lived between it and us and he wanted to just pick all the equipment we needed there! We naturally had to pick out some of the stuff up ourselves, but EVERY TIME it was an awful experience! This was a very expensive project for us, but we wouldn't have minded if we were treated right! For example: I would ask if a different clerk multiple times if they gave me my much deserved Military discount, and they'd say yes. But then I'd check my receipt outside, and always have to go back in to get it! I'm a former Marine, Vietnam Vet, and we just didn't get much back then. So I feel I want to take advantage of it now! One of the asst. Mgrs. (can't remember his name) was absolutely NO HELP when I reported this to him! I'm a Purple Heart recipient, and have to always use a cane or a shopping cart to get around stores. One time when I was leaving this store with a cart with two bags PLUS a 3 foot long Vanity light box, an employee said to me, "Do you have to use that cart? You know we have to go out in the parking lot and get them!" I was rightfully furious and told him off!!! I went back in to report it, but another asst. Mgr. said to me, "no reprimanding of employees while their still working!" And we would go THREE DAYS AHEAD to order (AND PAY IN FULL) things like drywall too big for us to get in our car, so our contractor would have to do it. BUT EVERY TIME, NOTHING WAS EVER READY, so he'd show up ALL TICKED OFF TO WORK ON OUR NEW BATH!!! I could go on & on! AVOID THIS CERTAIN HOME DEPOT AT ALL COST!!! p.s. We've been dedicated customers to this store for many years. Given the flooring experience we've just had with them, that will most likely change. We've waited over 5 weeks at this point for our laminate flooring to be delivered and installed. While we understand that it takes time for product to arrive, what we find unacceptable is how the buck was passed every time we called for status. We were told product was in and we would get a call.. we didn't. When we called back, we were told they tried to call us at least 4 different times.. they didn't (I have phone records to prove it) and when we finally got product to the home, they didn't bother to tell the scheduler/expediter so installation could be scheduled. We had to call the installers ourselves. Now we will wait another week to have installation done and our home sits in a state of mess since we had already moved things to accommodate delivery and installation. They definitely need a refresher course in customer service here as pass the buck seems to be the only thing they know how to do. Very disappointing all around. Would not recommend to anyone shopping for flooring. read more
