I had a wonderful experience shopping at Lamphere's! It's a beautiful showroom with a great array of furniture, TV's and appliances. The prices are great and financing is easy. The store has been around for decades and has become an Aurora institution. Everyone that works there has been the for ages and are so nice and knowledgeable. I have to mention by name Sandra who has helped me many times in the past. She treats everyone like they are her favorite customer. And I have to acknowledge Jose the delivery driver. He's been there for over 25 years and is a superb delivery guy. He is quick, kind and careful of everything in my place. He even set the clock on my new oven which was the icing on the cake! Pros: Cheaper than many, furniture. Con: Furniture always seem to be lacking in quality, if I had to guess it's because of the materials. Pro: Furniture looks visually nice, for the most part. Con: will more than likely loose its eye appeal after only 6 months. Pro: They do delivery. Con: If no one is home during delivery, they will leave your stuff outside. Company sold me furniture they no longer had in stock. Gave me a date and time for delivery just to call and cancel then attempted to sell me something else. I decided to WAIT for the furniture. Call back furniture is in. But they didn't give an ETA just a.m. when they did call they called saying they were 10 minutes away. This business is totally unprofessional. read more

I am a huge proponent of soliciting local businesses. I went to Lamphere's to buy a sofa and was hoping to find something I liked. They had a lot of sofas that seemed to be quality goods. I found numerous sofas that I liked very much. I had cash in hand and was very eager to buy. Unfortunately, the sales people seemed unwilling to sell to me. I told them I wanted the measurements of a couple of the sofas and they were unwilling to help me. I tried asking questions and the man stood there saying, "I don't know." He also flat out refused to measure anything saying that was my responsibility. There were other workers behind the desk just watching our progress through the store. It was about an hour before they closed and there were no other customers. Perhaps the worker was new and didn't want to ask another employee. Although, he didn't seemed new, just rude. I am still confused over their behavior and it's been a long time since I was there. For whatever reason the only thing they seemed to want was me out of the store. read more

Our family has been ordering from Lamphere's for more than 30 years. The staff is very helpful and always polite. Recently, I purchased a love seat, but the owner, Dave, explained it would take two months for the item to arrive, due to the pandemic. I checked with other retailers in the neighborhood, and they are all experiencing similar delays. One week prior to the delivery date, Dave called my wife personally to let her know the factory pushed our delivery back a couple of weeks. Sure enough, 10 days later, our love seat was delivered. While nobody likes delays, Lamphere's follow-up is exceptional. Their prices are exceptional, and since our family recently ran into some credit problems associated with medical bills, their liberal credit terms are a breath of fresh air! I highly recommend Lamphere's for their high quality furniture, appliances, and electronics. They never fail to impress! read more

Purchased washer from Best Buy. Added pick up of old washer and installation of new to the order. We have an old house I re- measured old to make sure new would fit. Same measurements. First delivery team removed door and the old washer made it pass plumbing pipes by the stairs and then they stated due to dry wall need to be removed. I know when had added it so I removed and called to reschedule . 2nd Best Buy team started to remove door . I left to look at news and the called me stating could move pass the overhead beam. They showed me and didn't make it to the removed dry wall section. I said tilt it a so part on stairs higher. The guy on the stairs shouted my back even though he didn't have the weight. Also door never removed as hit the screws but didn't remove .15 minutes later went to Lamphere's and picked out floor model same washer from Best Buy. Delivery set in 2 days. Third attempt was the charm. Jose and helper with straps came , removed door and with a little maneuvering moved old washer out and new in one in. Door back on frame and just like that a new washer. Horrible service, the warranty is such a hassle! I have been waiting on a part since June and still till no part! I bought a couch in March didn't get it till May because it was on back order and no one informed me that it would be on back order. Had I known I would't of purchased it. I finally received the coach finally for it to break less than a month of me having it. They keep giving me the run around and nothing gets resolved. I am tired of calling, and calling when they don't know what is going on. Sandra is the worst at customer service. I definitely do not recommend buying product from this furniture store. read more
