The typical Home Depot, but without anyone checking you out. That is all up to you by using the self checkout, really a pain in the bit.

My wife was looking for some native plants to plant in our yard. Poor Boy's Garden Center had quite…read morea collection of these. What I liked: *Huge selection. We easily spent almost an hour walking looking through their various offerings *Great information. The plants had thorough written descriptions with them that allowed us to know exactly what we were getting. *Competitive pricing. I didn't feel like the prices were any more (or less) than other garden spots we've visited. *The koi pond. My kids were along and they were entertained by the koi pond. This helped as we weren't constantly hearing "I'm bored" as we were trying to make final decisions. All in all, very pleased with our experience at Poor Boy's Garden Center.

However,…read morewith my recent garden obsession I decided to pay them a visit to see what they had in stock. I was blown away with the selection of house plants and all of themat a very good price too. Considering the astronomical price tag that some plants have today. For $9.99, I couldn't leave without buying a new plant. Poor Boys has all of your needs to tend to your plants and garden. From soil and neem oil to planter pots and worm castings. They carried a good selection of annual and perennial plants for your garden as well as a smaller selection of herbs, greens, and lettuce, given the major gardening season is starting to come to an end. They even had different types of fruit trees with fruit already on the limbs. The young guy working in the garden center was really nice and answered the various questions I had. He even helped me bring my items to the car. If you've got a green thumb and are in need of some new house plants or new items for your garden, then definitely give Poor Boy a visit.

Ventured here today looking for some fresh fruits and vegetables…read more Was happy with the selection for today. Picked up some yummy fruits and veggies. Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The bakery side had a variety of yummy treats from doughnuts, pies, cookies and cakes. Definitely grabbed a few for later. The Apple Pie ice cream my hunnie ordered was delicious. Tasted just like Apple Pie. Looking forward to our next adventure here already.

The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.
