The employees I interacted with seemed more focused on shutting down questions than actually helping. Instead of listening or trying to resolve the issue, they spoke over me, dismissed what was on the website, and then proceeded to invent policies on the spot -- policies that directly contradicted what BestBuy.com clearly states. When I pulled up the information on their website and showed it to them, they still insisted on their "in-store policy," but couldn't point to anything written, official, or even logical. It felt like they were improvising excuses instead of providing service. That's not professionalism -- that's laziness and a complete lack of training. If Best Buy expects customers to take their brand seriously, the very least they could do is ensure their staff follows the same rules listed on their own website. Right now, it feels like you get a different story depending on which associate you talk to and what mood they're in.

I've been Lowe's hopping trying to decide on paint colors for a Spring Refresh. Carl, in the paint shop, was especially helpful today! He walked me through my options and helped me decide based on interior/exterior, etc. It was a pleasant experience finally making those decisions and checking it off my list. Of course, I can't visit Lowe's without a visit to talk with the plants. The last Lowe's I visited didn't have many plants, but now that Spring has sprung, they're out! I didn't mean to buy six plants, but who can resist. Some were on clearance and my new fetish is buying cactus plants. AND, I had to buy something colorful to plant in front of the house. There you go. Done. Oh, and a monstera that I've been wanting. It was on clearance so, it doesn't really count. I don't think I'd been to this Lowe's before, but I like it. OH, did you know they have a section called "The Back Aisle"? It's like a clearance section for the whole store. I hadn't seen it before but found it on accident. At Trible's I went into store, they pulled part from stock, and I paid 42% less than from manufacturer; and I suspect I might have also had to pay manufacturer for shipping. Installer goes to pick up 11 custom cut blinds after I was called by the project specialist, Jackie, and the supervisor Michael promised to refund a portion of my money and that the order was correct! The installer gets to my home 5 blinds were not cut at all. Another set of blinds was labeled for the bedroom and they were cut too short! And of course when I call the store, Jackie is out of the office and Michael is on vacation! I will be calling for my all of my money and then some back. This is bad business and a waste of my time! But, some things have changed! She couldn't just go to the aisle and pick up her item. When she looked it up on the kiosk she was confused, but an associate came to the rescue. That's how we found out that certain things have to be ordered & paid for right at the kiosk, then picked up at another area. What? Sometimes change is good except for the fact that we had to wait almost 40 minutes for them to bring her items. Ugh! This change is not good. And, while we were shopping, I wanted my usual Swedish meatballs. How about, they don't even provide real plates anymore! Booooooo! Your food is served on a paper plate. That's SO not the same. And instead of peas, which is how the dish is supposed to be served, I was given some yellow looking green beans. What the helly?! AND, even the drinks were served in paper cups. Wow, such a downer. I don't know if it was the presentation or the actual food, but my meatballs didn't taste the same. The thrill is gone. I guess this was my last time opting for my mandatory trip to the kitchen. Even now, as I type and compare pictures from this most recent trip to previous trips, I can definitely see the difference. I wonder if this is happening at ALL IKEA's or just this one. It's not a good look. So, yes, IKEA is always fun. I picked up the French press I've been needing for awhile at a great price. I can always find the few gadgets I need and generally leave with something. But my trip to the food area is over. So sad.
