We bought a large and heavy item the other day and someone asked if we needed help getting it into our 4-Runner, turns out the person helping was just another customer! I've been to this Home Depot before, and my first instance was trash. One particular worker wouldn't listen (had his airpods on while we asked for help) and acted like me and my family were a bother. It was redeemed by the Tool Rental department employees that proved to be very friendly and helpful. But after today and encountering the assistant manager, Donna, and this nice associate named Kat, my opinion of the place totally changed. Donna was so attentive and helpful - I couldn't believe I was in the same place. Shout out to her and her superb management of the store. Looking forward to coming back. read more

Had Home Depot installed hardwood flooring in my home. They lost my order at least three times and when the job was supposed to be complete, it looked so bad on my steps, th told me they would deduct $100 and give me a can of stain to fix it myself. I would never use Home Depot to install flooring ever again! They would like to know where their money is, but they do not want to finish the job!! They did send someone out to put caulk over top of the unfinished piece, which made it look worse! read more

Mark at Rockland Blinds in Bel Air, MD did an installation for my 84 year old mother who lives alone. Upon finishing the installation; he left the large heavy blinds which they had taken down just laying on the floor for her to "figure out" how to dispose. When I visited her from Boston and saw this, I called to inquire about this and he told me she could just "cut the material off the frames and then bend the metal" and see if the garbage men would take them. Again; she is 84 and lives alone. I said we would be happy to pay a clean-up fee if necessary for them to come and do it, and that every other contractor I've ever worked with cleans up the job site when finished. Mark just responded and said "we don't do that." Really poor service, as they only did 50% of the job and left their trash on the floor of my mother's house. Had I not come to visit her from Boston, it would still be laying there for weeks to come. There are MUCH better companies/contractors who will ensure clean up is a part of the process. Service was fast, reliable, and staff seemed pretty friendly and professional. Just bought a dishwasher and had a great sales rep. Unfortunately, it all went downhill not because of people but because of process and unexpected problems. Delivery was late. Install was scheduled for a day later. The installer arrived on time and noticed the frame was bent and the door clicked when it opened. Per the contract, I had 48 hours to reject the delivery. I called Home Depot. After 30 minutes someone picked up. I was referred to a phone number in the contract for Whirlpool. I spent another half hour in the phone que and was told they would reschedule delivery/pickup. I asked if install would be rescheduled concurrently. They referred me to Home Depot and back to Whirlpool and so on on. Go to Best Buy or a local appliance outlet. Ask if Delivery and install are on the same day with the same person. I've wasted two days with nothing to show but a lonely dishwasher sitting in the middle of the kitchen. Now it's almost a week. Second install was terminated because my valve no longer shutoff. That was my problem. Had a two day delay waiting for my valve to be replaced and reconfigured by my plumber. Next a two day delay waiting for install to be rescheduled. Then the suspense of the install. Jockeying it in and out to fit. Now it's in and it works. All the delivery and install people were polite and professional. However, The whole process is flawed and is guaranteed to be have built in delays. Pay attention to detail. Only go to a place that guarantees delivery and install the same day. Make sure the install people do plumbing work too because inevitably the old valve may need replacing or reconfiguration. Pay up front for service if you value your time. read more

This store is completely incompetent. I placed small orders and after a month they never contacted me or returned calls. Once I reached someone, they said only part of the order came in but wouldn't call someone until it all came in. After another week I called back and they had cancelled my order inexplicably. Multiple messages were left with management and I dealt with a different person every time, none of which could assist. Poor communication, management and resolution team. Finally they told me my purchase that was cancelled was refunded. After a week I checked with my HD credit card and NO refund. Shady location. read more

Always have a bad experience at the Bel Air, Md location. Danielle and Chris, both of these women are rude and nasty! When I asked for help (from Chris), after standing in line while they continued to take people ahead of me as if I wasn't there. She says I don't have a register open, without asking what I needed. She seemed to not want to help so I said I'll wait for someone else. Danielle comes over and once again I'm met with attitude. I gave her the name of the product I was looking for and instead of her putting in the name she says they don't sell it. She tells me to come around the counter and look to see because she doesn't see it. Of course you don't Danielle. You didn't listen. When I found the product she then decided to tell another associate to handle my order. It cost you nothing to be kind. You ladies may need a customer service training refresher. read more

I've always had very good in-store service here but unfortunately my recent experience with their door installation contractor was very poor. The company they used was unreliable with multiple no shows and wouldn't even return calls to reschedule. I go to this Home Depot when I'm in the area. I tend to prefer the location on Route 40 because it is typically easier to find someone to help us. This location can be a little bit harder to get help; especially when its busy. When its slower the people can are very helpful. It also has the best garden area during the spring/summer months. read more

Working overnight stock at this Home Depot was only my second-ever job in my early 20's. Multiple health conditions, not yet diagnosed, made it incredibly difficult for me to keep up and I was simply treated like I was lazy. One of the two supervisors shamed me in front of everyone else for having to use the restroom longer than he liked. I injured my back working for them and had no money for a lawyer or disability, so I've just had to live physically more impaired ever since. Maybe the night management has changed since the early 2000's but they were ungrateful, disrespectful and inhuman people. read more

I will never buy another appliance from this company. If I could I would give them a negative star. No one stands behind anything. I have bought a Maytag washer and dryer and a Bosch dishwasher. I took out extended warranties with each item. The Maytag dryer $1000 is a month old. It does not dry the clothes. To get a service tech I need to wait 7-10 days for an airflow test kit. Then they would determine if it indeed is a service issue which will occur another two weeks for repair. So a month long wait for a dryer that is a month old. Maytag refused to work with me to get the kit here sooner even after telling them we have 9 people and we are air drying. Then we needed a dishwasher. Bought a Bosch dishwasher on 9/05 and to date, I have had one DW installed incorrectly and it gauged the top of the door. So it took 10 days for two people who could not speak any English to come with what we thought was a replacement DW, only to find out that they were to adjust the door, leave the gauges and leave. I then called Home Dep to have a new DW sent. Ten days later the new DW is severely damaged and was rejected. Called to address this and was given the runaround until I had to get forceful in requesting a new DW. DW #3 was delivered and DAMAGED. We still do not have a DW since Sept 2020!!! Home Dep could care less. When the delivery people call them, they don't even offer an apology! The level and quality of service from this company has seriously declined. $5000 in appliances and nothing is in good condition! BUYER BEWARE! Go to Jarvis or Appliance Distributors on Raynor Rd. You will get personal service for less money!! read more

We bought a package deal on kitchen appliances ( Refrigerator, dishwasher,microwave and Natural gas stove). Their delivery/instaltion guy sent a email asking for pictures of the shutoff valve in back of the stove and smoke detectors. Sent pictures back and he said evrything was good. When they brought the appliances out the guys told us they could not install the natural gas stove and called his boss. He was the rudest person I've ever spoke with from a delivery service. They end up leaving with all the appliances. I went to the store to complain and get a refund but the manager talked me into trying again the following week. They brought the appliances out and installed the dishwasher and refrigerator and then told me they could not install the gas stove AGAIN! They left it in the garage. I called the manager back and forth for 3 days and had to call a plumber myself to get the stove installed 2 weeks later. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING BUT NUTS AND BOLTS FROM THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN! DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES HERE!! Buy them from Lowes where they WILL install a natural gas stove. read more

I wanted to have Bel Air Home Depot install some laminate flooring after a less than stellar experience with Lowe's. Everything started out great; they measured and got me a quote within 2 days. Sadly, it all went downhill from there when they were unable to deliver the job for the price they quoted. In fact, they missed the mark by a whopping 50%. That's not 50% of the installation costs, but 50% of the entire bill, including the cost of the laminate flooring. I realize there's a margin of error on everything, but a 50% one is just absurd. They chalked it up to unforeseen circumstances, despite the fact that they had all of the information they needed ahead of time. In other words, there was absolutely nothing in the floor plan they didn't already know about - how could anything be unforeseen? After about a week's worth of back and forth with Home Depot and the installer, they offered $200 off (that's why it's 2 stars and not 1); however, it was still 40% more than the original quote. Moreover, Home Depot never wanted to accept responsibility for an obviously flawed process, shifting the blame to the contractor who measured or to the installer. Yet, it was Home Depot that compiled the info and prepared the quote. Furthermore, since Home Depot is the one through which the business is conducted, they should be the ones to answer to any problems encountered. read more

Purchased a combo 4-1 grafted apple tree. Thought it was doing ok but after several months it died. Turns out, the roots never took. This is the third fruit tree from Home Depot (hopewell nurseries) I've had the same problem with. All my other trees purchased via mail order have thrived. I'm out about $60 because I could no longer find my receipt and had paid with cash (return counter couldn't look it up). Store credit would've been nice. Will longer risk buying trees or shrubs from there again. read more

Never had a problem here, except with the poorly designed parking lot. This is in the plaza just across from the mall, in the same plaza as Michaels, AC Moore, Red Lobster, and Barnes & Noble. The plaza is all connected, so you can drive around to get between the stores without going out to the main road, it's just kinda hard to find your way until you're more familiar with it. read more

Home Depot has been my first store in seeking resolutions for any expenditures including repairs and upgrades on my home and gardening projects. The Home Depot employees and contractors have been doing an excellent job for me without any sale's pitch since I moved to Bel Air, Maryland in 2004. On April 21, 2017, I became more convinced that the Home Depot community care for their customers beyond their homes. I became disoriented when my blood sugar dropped at the store. The Home Depot associates realized my struggle and courteously offered their help. All I remember are several Home Depot employees attentive in comforting me despite their busy schedules. Brandon and his team constantly monitored my status until I fully recovered. He contacted my spouse regarding the situation. My spouse arrived to escort me out happily in a safe and sound manner. I could not ask for any better. I will never forget those moments and the utmost care and professionalism I received from the Home Depot employees of Bel Air, Maryland. First, let's start with "Bo" at the Pro Desk. Very helpful and squared away. Great product knowledge and very professional demeanor, so, kudo's to him! Secondly, went to pay for items at a cash register which was attended by a very bland young woman (shall remain nameless). As I was checking out, I told her that I was also interested in making an $800 tool box combo purchase. Further, that I was a combat Veteran and wished to know about the military discount at that specific store location. All other Home Depot's have honored Veterans with this discount, but she informed me rather krassly that the Bel Air store only gave a discount on Veteran's day. This was okay with me, but when I showed her my credentials as proof of my Veterans status, i.e., my VA Identification card, she said it was invalid because it did not have "Service Connected" stamped on it. That made me feel insulted, as not all Veterans who served have a service connected disability, or disability at all. Because of this, she cost the store the $800.00 sale and any future purchases from me. read more

I stopped in here because I needed three things: mouse traps, a squirrel proof bird feeder and some blinds. They only had the crappy mousetraps which you have to bait, none of the nice Victor ones with the fake cheese that work so well (but I have a mouse problem, or more precisely, my wife has a mouse problem that is my urgent problem) so I bought in inferior traps (and ordered the better ones off of Amazon this morning). The bird feeder selection was mostly lame as well. A bunch of plastic ones that the squirrels can gnaw through with a minimum amount of effort. I bought one wire enclosed plastic feeder, which I have had before. The plastic breaks down from exposure to the elements in 18 months. Lowes has the nice wire only feeder which I know will last much longer. Lastly blinds. They only had two packages that were the width I needed, both boxes had been previously opened. I also wanted to get some extra hay for my chickens (none there) and a replacement snow shovel. They have an outstanding selection of snow shovels, get yours now before the first flakes fly. Lots of employees walking around and talking to each other, but none asked me if I needed any help. read more

I am a woman in my 60's who has been doing home improvement on my own for the past year. Finding anyone to help is a seldom experience and when you finally do find someone rarely are you greeted warmly or given proper assistance. Apparently this has become general public opinion in the Bel Air area as many of my friends, family and co-workers recommend going Loews and by-passing the Bel Air Home Depot altogether. In the pass eight weeks I have been in at least twice a week and have only had 2 floor people that could only help me briefly before returning back to their conservation with 2 or 3 other floor personnel. Being that I do Customer Service for a living I find this to unacceptable for behavior. read more

This is for online ordering. I purchased a patio set on June 20, 2014 and was told it would be delivered to the Bel Air, MD store between June 27-July 2. In time for the holiday weekend. Yay. Oh...no email so on the 2nd I stopped by the store and the lady there called online ordering, they traced it and said it would be delivered on Monday. Monday was yesterday and still no patio set or word. I called online ordering and the young man I talked to contacted the carrier and said it would be in today. I expressed that I was very disappointed because when I bought it I was given a delivery window that was not honored. He said, well we don't really have control over the vendor and shipper. I said, that's interesting and all, but I bought and contracted with Home Depot. So basically we got no where. Maybe I'll get it today, more likely I won't. I will never deal with Home Depot again except for miscellaneous cans of paint and heater air filters. read more

I ordered double front doors from the Bel Air store costing $3500.00. They sent one delivery driver to carry 500 lb doors, had to get other men to help him get them off the truck as one man could not carry those. The next day, my contractor had just removed my original front doors to find out the doors I special ordered were the wrong inswing. So I had to pay my contractor to put my old doors back up and re-order new doors. Three weeks later I was called that my new doors are finally in and I set up delivery for today, Wednesday April 12, 2017, and arranged for my contractor to install them Friday, only to be called last night and told they couldn't deliver them because they have other orders. Then they said they could be delivered Thursday (had plans to go out of town for the night and canceled so I could receive the doors) to only be told today that they now can't deliver them Thursday...again because of other deliveries. I have no idea when or if I will ever get this delivery and have a contractor scheduled for Friday and no doors. I called the district managers office and they as well do not care and are of NO help. They don't care about other people only their bottom line. I will not ever recommend Home Depot to anyone! I have been waiting for these doors since early March and have been very patient when they made a mistake, but now they are very nasty and have an I don't care attitude. I guess when you as big as they are, customer service is not a priority. Extremely disappointed. read more
