This is my local IKEA, and it is definitely a good location. I think they've done some renovation recently, and of course IKEA is always coming up with new things for us to enjoy. The service from IKEA staff was very helpful and very friendly. The selection of products was tremendous; and as we were walking through the store, we picked up what we were looking for, but at the same time we saw a bunch of items that we weren't looking for that we decided to get as well. We saw the items either on display and decided that we would like to get them or we saw them on the shelf at the value that we could afford so we decided to pick them up as well. We only had one issue with the store; its layout. We had a hard time locating items when the screen said to go to certain aisles and locations. We had a hard time finding out where those areas were to find the products. The store didn't exactly have a well written out description of where aisles and locations were at. To find most of the items we were looking for we had to actually ask staff members for almost all of my items. It might be a better idea for future stores to show a better written plan of where the aisles are located at as in if somebody asks for aisle 7, the screen will tell them something like second floor. Just passed the light section and possibly show a floor plan/map to where aisle 7 is, and a spot where you are and possibly a line for a direction of how to get there. It might be the most useful idea because me and my mother looking for specific things even though we had the numbers for the items we wanted couldn't find probably 90% of our products in the store because of it's funky set up. Sorry about me dissing your store set up, but I had no idea where I was or where to go in your store at least half the time I was inside it. read more

More specifically, the Swedish meatballs. The last time I ate at IKEA was at least a decade ago, but those meatballs have been living in my head rent-free ever since. I've been daydreaming about them like an old flame -- comforting, flavorful, reliable. So I finally decided to make the trek back, ready to relive the magic. At 11 a.m. on a Sunday, I was in IKEA's Swedish Restaurant, cafeteria tray in hand, grinning like a fool as I ordered the 8-piece Swedish meatball meal. The gentleman behind the counter looked like he'd rather be launched into space than be standing there serving meatballs, but hey -- we've all had those days. I paid my $9.99 + tax and found a quiet spot by the window, practically giddy to reunite with an old favorite. And then... heartbreak. The first bite was pure disappointment. The meatballs, the mashed potatoes, the peas -- all completely flavorless. Like, were the spices on strike? Did the salt get lost somewhere between the showrooms and the self-checkout? The only thing with any flavor was the lingonberry jam, and bless it, it tried its best, but it couldn't carry the whole team. I added salt, pepper, and sheer hope -- nothing helped. It was edible, yes. Enjoyable? Not even a little. I finished the meal only because I was starving and still had an entire floor's worth of shopping ahead of me. I'd planned to treat myself to a slice of cake afterward, but after that sad plate of nostalgia gone wrong, I just couldn't do it. So yes, IKEA is still great for shelving, storage, and spontaneous home redecoration decisions -- but if you're hoping to recapture the glory days of their Swedish meatballs, brace yourself. IKEA can sometimes be overstimulating for me, but I love coming here to see what's new, to get ideas, and of course to eat some swedish meatballs! Although this location is closest to me, this was the first time I've been. I was coming to look at their kitchen countertops for a project in my home. What I enjoy most about Ikea is how they have rooms set up to give you ideas and they take you on a little journey. Of course, even if you come here for just one thing, you'll end up leaving with more. Which of course was the case for me. And I also left with some great ideas to come home and take measurements to see if certain products would fit what I had in mind. I took a break to have some Swedish meatballs which I can't come to Ikea without enjoying. For me. It's all about the linganor berries. But I always get the same thing. The meatballs with mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans. This time I got some rainbow cake as it was for a good cause. I came during the weekday so it wasn't that crowded. There are plenty of parking spaces and everybody I dealt with was nice and helped me when I needed it. Last but not least, let's talk about their plants! I'm a plant lover and you can always come to Ikea to get a great deal on plants. I almost forgot about that. In the end I did finally come across the kitchen countertops and took some pictures so I could come home and decide which one I wanted. I can spend hours walking through IKEA, picking up lots of items I don't need...I always try to visit with the intention of picking up only one or two items and always leave with much more. They offer great deals on many items and it's hard to resist. I especially like the kitchen section, where you can find everything from pots and pans to various kitchen gadgets and tools. I visited here during their Spring sale and found many useful items at great prices. I also had the chance to visit their restaurant, hoping to grab the Swedish crepes. However, they had already switched to lunch service and I had the Swedish meatballs. This was a decent meal, but a bit lukewarm. It would have been nice to have it hot. Also, just a tip, IKEA members receive free coffee & tea. Overall, I think IKEA is worth a visit, there is so much to explore, and you can find many items at a fair price. read more

Long ago IKEA used to be a day date for my husband and I when we had four young children. returning today with my daughter and one of her friends. I enjoyed walking around childless , as my daughter and her friend were off on their own, and looking for small items that could add to the aesthetic of my home and also practical items like Bowls, glasses, and utensils. after walking around for about 30 minutes on my own, I checked out, returned to my car to place my purchases in my trunk under a shaded parking area, and then returned for a cheap snack/lunch a slice of pizza and a small drink for less than five dollars. It's not Costco worthy pizza. However it was a good snack after some time walking around the store. I always will suggest IKEA for a wonderful day date as you imagine what you would want your living spaces to look like. I suggest picking up a few low cost items to add to your own home. read more

ordered $2100 in furniture, never got delivery window. Tried app day before delivery, app says IKEA canceled my order for no reason. I call, clerk says order had been canceled, he doesnt know why, he cant re-place the order, i have to drive back to Balto store do everything all over again even though I can provide proof of purchase, invoice number, etc. I get on chatbot - it says" no payment received" even tho I have paid receipt in my hand. I ask to re-pay and set delivery/assembly up again. System wont accept that billing address is different from delivery address (wont accept the order) . "Bot" finally sends 3 payment links, none work, 3rd and final one works, we set up everything in military time (had to Google) - then try to set up assembly. Task rabbit suggests 3am ???? When I said "no" to 3am, it suggested 530pm ???? for 10 pieces of furniture? We set date for 29th. Confirmation comes through with wrong date for assembly (28th). read more

Looking for bunk beds, we found medal beds and wooden (not solid) beds, but nothing to our liking, although the prices were reasonable.We did end up with two bags of Swedish meatballs, however, and several pouches of Swedish meatballs gravy mix, so it was not a total loss. of all the stories ive reviewed not show how IKEA is the one that slipped through the cracks! I am in this location about as often as I visit target and with the same mantra.. I go and wander and let the store tell me what I need. I love that i can walk through the show room and get inspiration without a lot of staff hounding me or I can use the app to add the items i need to my cart and go right to them in the self service area. I havent tried the click and collect so I cant talk much to that. Generally the staff are helpful if you need them and back off if you dont which is nice in this type of store. I have been re-doing my closet so Ikea has been seeing a lot of me lately and even without buying everything from the same system i still managed to have a very cohesive closet system! read more

Bottom Line: A ginormous store with lots of inspiration and organization goodies. I am fascinated by IKEA but I don't go very often. After watching some YouTube videos featuring IKEA products I was craving a trip so my husband and I made the trek. It was a Saturday afternoon during COVID and much busier than I expected but we still weaved our way through the entire store. Because I was trying to avoid close contact with others and didn't want to crowd anyone's space I didn't get to look as much as I wanted but I still left with a few gadget-y items for the kitchen. When I visited in early February 2021 the restaurant/bistro was closed which was a bummer because I really needed a little caffeine to keep me going. But, I did discover the Swedish Food Market . . and the cinnamon buns. I expected the buns to be stale and mediocre but ohhhh they were good! I wish I didn't know how good they are. But now I know. And they are good. I think IKEA furniture definitely has its place. It is stylish, reasonably priced, functional and easy to get home and I really admire that business model. But when it comes to furniture I'm still more of an investment buyer. But when it comes to cinnamon buns, IKEA has my number! I would love for IKEA to come to Annapolis. I liked the partitioned rooms that gave me a better sense of the space and how different furniture would fit in the layout of my home. To have the comfort and understanding of spatial knowledge and how it fit in proportion with the rooms in my home, I feel like I made a good choice for the price. Went to the IKEA in College Park this afternoon looking for locking cabinets, but they were out of stock. Website indicated Baltimore location had them, so I drove north. When I arrived, I wasn't super impressed. This location seems considerably smaller than College Park. I found the section with the locking cases but there was only 1 physically present (of the 2 models I was looking for). I went to ask an employee for help and walked thru at least (5) different areas before I found someone. Once I did, I had a GREAT experience. Meelan in textiles is your team's rockstar for sure. She was super helpful, walked me through the "click and collect" process, and answered all my questions. If not for her, I wouldve given this store a 2 star (maybe 3 star review). She clarified that both models Were actually in stock despite one not being on display, helped me order and was very pleasant and cordial the whole time. Give her a raise. Pictured is the vegan balls (with vegan sauce) plus veggies in white rice, and green beans. Pricing for this meal varies upon how many vegan balls are ordered. This IKEA location has the restaurant upstairs but ALSO has a Bistro downstairs. While I didn't get to try it this time, they have a vegan hot dog as well for cheap. The staff at the restaurant was very helpful and informative answering all my questions. I recommend trying the food out, whether vegan or not. read more

Neither IKEA in MD are conveniently located for me, but I will make the trek to the White Marsh location when I need specific items that only IKEA can provide. Recently I needed a Ribba frame, so I headed out to IKEA. I've bought many of this type of frame over the years because all the various sizes are very reasonably priced, and they look as good, if not better than frames you find in other stores such as Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I found the Ribba frame with no problem, and found so many other things, including wine glasses, serving bowls, place mats, pillows, and plants! Considering all these things, I was pleased my total was under $100! All told, I'm really happy with my purchases! The frame that was my main goal from my visit looks great in my living room. I've used the place mats when I hosted some friends for dinner, so they came in handy. We also used the wine glasses and I served up some snacks in the serving bowls. Plus I love the added dimension the plants add to my space! Only thing was the pillows were tightly wrapped and didn't fluff out the way I wanted, so I'll have to return them, but that's ok. Gives me another opportunity to lose my mind in the store, lol! And, as I've found with all IKEA locations, the store is clean and orderly given the sheer amount of stuff in there. The parking lot is large and even if you have to park far out, there are always spaces. I'm not sure if the cafeteria area is open now, but when it has been, I've always had a decent meal there. IKEA is that store were you can get some unique or modern items for your home. Inside and outside items. They even have plants that's are so beautiful. There is normally plenty of staff that are always around and normally willing to help. When buying these items IKEA does have a small tools tray you can buy for a decent price that has extra items just in case you may need other tools when building. One thing that made me sad about this location is they don't carry the pets stuff. This is one of the smallest location in America so that's why but it still saddens me. My babies are so important to my life. After all that shopping or maybe even before you start you can enjoy a meal in the cafeteria or when you are checking out you can get some easy food such as hot dog or pizza and they also have sweets such as a cinnamon bun to enjoy as well. I've been going there for months trying to get the required length of railings for already purchased PAX closets. For 8 months my newly built PAX closet can't be finished because IKEA doesn't have all inserts ( shelves, railings, mirror doors, etc). 4 stars for the convenience of parking, efficient cashiers and relatively clean bathrooms . Last week I came to my faithful spot yet again for a much needed shelf unit for my dressing room. I looked online and thought I could save time by purchasing it online and pick it up later, but found this practice is not capable. If you order an item plan on picking it up days from now or you may have to shop elsewhere, which happened once awhile back. I took a photo of where the shelf would be for easy access. I did want to browse, but decided against it since the atmosphere has been a little lackluster and unfriendly. I did stop in the picture frame area to look for a corkboard, but after seeking assistance on the floor was advised they were out, but had a small and darker alternative, which was not what I wanted. I pushed my long cart to the aisle and bin for my shelf unit. I didn't have my handy dandy hubby to assist me in picking up the two boxes. I did spot two employees talking and try several attempts to get their attention. Eventually after waving my hands and yelling through my mask, the two came and the male employee grabbed and placed the two boxes onto the flat cart. I asked about assistance to my car, but was told someone should be available at the exit to help. Once I made my way around the social distancing maze to checkout, the female employee informed me of which register to go to for checkout. The process to wait was less than 10 min. Once I got to the female cahier, I asked about the IKEA discount card, but she advised I didn't need it. In the middle of the checking out process, again I asked about assistance and was advised someone was outside to help, but I asked where could leave my cart since my car was parked far away from the store. At some point, I asked the other two female employees for help. The one advised that the other was a manager and that one tomd me I could leave my box near a desk. I went to my car and parked it in the pick-up section near the exit. The parking pick-up area can be better, since some people do not know how to park or back up. I quickly grabbed my cart and went straight back to my car. While I waited for assistance I started moving my seats to make adjustments and room for the long boxes. After nearly 5 to 10 min and seeing no one with a vest or anyone wearing an IKEA shirt, I began to look around the platform for possible employees for assistance. I went inside and asked a female employee at the pick-up countwr if she would help me find some assistance or a manger. She walked up to another female employee and I advised her of what I needed. She waljed outside and just pointed to someone wearing a vest and said they cab help you and left. The person was putting away the carts, and Iwatched them utilize their cellphone more than offer assistance. So then I finally tried to get their attention but they advised they don't speak English. In frustration I went back inside asking if someone could me a manager who assist me. Finally the lady at the pick-up counter found someone, and they were able to gey the large boxed into my trunk. What would've made my day, if O could've purchased a ice cream cone, but I guess due to COVID they are no longer serving food to the public. read more

You can live in here! Haha. There's a restaurant located in the ground floor and on the 2nd floor. We went here to eat and their menu is ok, not great but still tasted good. We had their meatballs and the chicken. The cake we had was good too. After eating we burn our calories by walking around by following the arrows that lead us to all their products. This review is solely for the Ikea restaurant inside of the store. Came her to grab a cheap meal for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I always heard that IKEA's food was slap but never tested it. The restaurant is set up cafeteria style- you get a tray and utensils then wait in line for an employee to serve you the food you want according to their menu board. We got the classic dish - Swedish Meatballs. For $1 you could add four more meatballs. It same with the meatballs, mash potatoes, gravy, lingonberry sauce, and seasonal veggie. It was a whopping $7 for a full plate of food and a glass for water. I can now say it is true what they say, the food does indeed slap. I will definitely be dropping into the food court here anytime I'm shopping because it was an absolute steal. Highly recommend. And that's the truth. read more

Like most people, I have been going to IKEA on occasion for 15+ years. I have a shelving unit they don't even make anymore (it was way too nice) in my dining room that I bought in 2006. It has always been fine and full of things I really don't need, but 1-2 I absolutely do (please go get their garlic press!) Anyway, I stopped at this store yesterday due to being out that way for an errand (it's over an hour out of the way), and it is a HOT MESS. Normally this store was always well stocked and organized, but shelves are half empty, stuff is lying around out of place, things aren't labeled well, etc. Maybe supply chains have been affected because COVID, but that doesn't excuse how it seemed just dirty and sad. I bought a rug from IKEA in white marsh less then 3 weeks ago, never opened as decided to buy wall to wall carpet. I brought the rug back only looking for store credit as we intended on spending at least $1k on a bed room dresser set and end tables. Two cashiers were unhelpful as they took 20-30 min to try and find my purchase as I did not have receipt. I did have my BofA bank statement with date of purchase 1/20/23. Their manager Scott got involved and was equally unhelpful but eventually found my purchase/Receipt. I opted for a refund to my debit card, took my business down the road and bought a new bed set for $1k. Nice job Scott and associates you lost me for good. read more

It's IKEA - we know it, we love it, many of us depend on them. As far as the store goes though this is my go-to spot in the area. It's the closest one but not by TOO far so I actually just prefer this location. I find that even though by this point I know what time to get there, exactly where I want to walk (and what snacks to convince myself I need) I still enjoy the customer service and layout here. The employees usually go out of their way to try and find something or help you out. Sometimes the check-out lines can be nuts but again that depends when you are there. I find when busy the cashiers do a great job of helping you get things scanned in and paid for. Fun Fact: If you are here for plants make sure to check out some of the larger ones in the self-serve area. read more

IKEA stores give me anxiety. Too big, too many people, too many options. (I mean if a store has shortcuts to other sections, it's probably too big?) Having said that, it's nice to be in a city with an IKEA nearby for the few times I will NEED to go. I lived in Nashville for 5 years, and there wasn't an IKEA within driving distance (I think there may be one in the Memphis area now), and it was too bad because sometimes you just need an inexpensive bookshelf or chair or wine rack. And I will put up with the anxiety I feel at IKEA when I need to. We just moved to Baltimore, and we needed to furnish a few (mostly organizational) pieces of furniture for our apartment. There's no place like IKEA to furnish a room or an apartment or a house on a tight budget. This IKEA is pretty standard - same size, same products as the other IKEAs I've been to (I don't think there's much variety in IKEAs in the States; they seem pretty standardized). The store is very crowded on the weekends; it's not bad at all if you can get there on a weekday! We found everything we needed but if you're going soon be aware that - due to COVID - they are sold out of A LOT. Check the tags to make sure the piece you want is available. So, I love and hate IKEA. But it's a convenient place to get a lot of affordable pieces if you're furnishing a new place! read more
