They had a nice variety of cone flowers. Prices seem to be decent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They had perennial hibiscuses, very healthy looking hydrangea varieties, lavenders, clematis, elephant ear plants and a good collection of other sun and shady perennials along with annuals. Found the most pretty looking sedum plant, forgot to buy it though. All plants looked healthy. They were selling proven winners brand too.

Really, the whole staff is awesome, helpful, and oh-so kind. You cannot go wrong here. And their prices are terrific. They carried a good selection of annual and perennial plants for your garden as well as a smaller selection of herbs, greens, and lettuce, given the major gardening season is starting to come to an end. They even had different types of fruit trees with fruit already on the limbs. The young guy working in the garden center was really nice and answered the various questions I had. He even helped me bring my items to the car. If you've got a green thumb and are in need of some new house plants or new items for your garden, then definitely give Poor Boy a visit.

When the pallets were delivered and my husband started the project and opened up the pallets, what was inside the pallets was rubble, small, and some medium sized pieces. Not many large pieces - maybe 15 in all. When I called to speak to the owner he said he didn't know anything about what was in the pallets. He I saw the same thing he saw. My suggestion to him - let people know before purchasing. Put a sign up. We assume, as the owner of Genes, that he knows what he is selling to the buyer. Now we need to buy more bluestone, and I won't buy from him. I'll go buy from somewhere who deals in stone. I suggested he give us two pallets for free since most of our product was worthless and said - "I won't do that". Oh and lastly - one of the bigger pieces had already been cut around a 4x4 post.

My cousin and I decided to stop in at the greenhouse and had the please of being helped by Sarah. Let me start with the fact that Sarah is such a beautiful bright light! She welcomed us as soon as we walked in the door and was available for any questions or help that we needed. I came here to get a white rose bush to plant in my background and they just so happened to have one called Champagne Wishes which is gorgeous. She even gave us tips on the kind of fertilizer to use to keep our rose bushes vibrant. I most certainly would return just to see Sarah. She is a big asset to the greenhouse and I can't wait to return to get some more beautiful flowers and experience her genuine uplifting energy:)

We ended up purchasing 30+ shrubs and trees (a good bit of money) and one of the plants died within two weeks of planting - it was the same as three others, all planted in the same place, same watering, and same sun exposure. We called to ask if we could have this one plant replaced as this clearly was a plant issue vs. a care issue (matter of fact all other plants are thriving) the manager Todd said he would not guarantee his plants, said this was a care issue, and then hung up on my wife. It's a true family company, but having tried to work with them…read moreseveral times, I continue to find them unhelpful, pretentious and almost bothered to help customers at times. I don't understand why a local family owned business would act this way, so I hope I've just been catching them at a bad time. Seems a shame that they just don't want to help customers and seem to be 'grumpy old men'. I take my business to nurserys over the PA line where they are actually nice to customers, or down into Hunt Valley or Sparks and pay the premium.

After we purchased the tree they planted it for us and continued to communicate about how it was doing. The plants they have are unusual and have been cultivated by their loving hands over months and years. Visiting their nursery is a special experience. We are planning on going back and would recommend others take the time to visit this extraordinary nursery.
