My husband and I are fixer uppers and do all our own handwork. Home Depot is great in helping with this task. Unfortunately, they don't always have the parts in stock you need but they do try to help. For this trip I was returning a hose for my kitchen sink spray arm. It did not have all the parts and did not fit. Luckily they are great with returning things that don't fit your project. I recommend Home Depot for easy projects that you know are common. If it is a detailed issue or project you may need help with- I recommend going to a speciality store for that project - for instance washer and refrigeration had the piece we needed for the spray arm. read more

This is a big box store with nothing special about it. They might have what you want or they might not. You might run across someone that knows everything about hardware or whatever it is you are there for or you may talk to three people who don't know anything about their products. I bought a washer on Labor Day sale so it was a great price. Less than a year later it broke and instead of repairing it they just refunded me the price I paid for it which was about half of the price of what the machine was selling for then. The Staff, that was walking around, I noticed was not asking me, did I need help, finding anything, but I did notice the staff telling random, people what aisle I was down, so they for whatever reason would know where I was at. Yelp! My mother in law needs some mulch! So, My husband is a professional member with Home Depot, so it's a no brainer, off we go to the Home Depot. We get there at 7:10 pm on this Sunday evening and they close at 8 pm. We got time! Well I thought we did? So we ask 2 managers passing by, they say nice go down there where they are working on the other side. Well on the other side was Haley and Brian working. It's obvious, she is ready to go home. She is frustrated and sighing a lot. Even asked, what time is it? I replied 7:20 pm. She was even more irritated that I answered her. So, she went on to leave my husband to load 12, 20lb bags of mulch. Then over cones Brian, he sees my husband loading the mulch alone, so he steps in. He stops what he was doing, helps my husband load the mulch with a smile, then return to his task. Thanks Brian, good service and help should always be commended. And, frustrated employees, ready to go home and not willing to help should always be exposed. Y'all already know, I can detach. But, Bae loves Home Depot. read more

Do not use the curb side pick up, I ordered online for same day pick up as it stated, day 3 I had to call the store as I had not received the text. They finally filled it and I got the text. I showed up and called for the curb side. The lady came out with what I though was my full order. Well it was not, she shorted me 6 items that were already paid for... so I had to walk in and get in line. So needless to say I had to wait for over 27 minutes for anyone to actually get the rest of my stuff.... that and what I had ordered which was in stock at the time was not when I picked it up 3 days later.... needless to say I believe I will not shop here anymore. I guess Lowe's at least gets their orders right....... I do not recommend ordering online at this location. Update, after eating for a half hour the manager came up. I love Home Depot. Better than Walmart in all regards. You can find someone to help you here, but they seem reluctant. Not the best customer service. They all seem ridiculously busy and sick of being bothered. I almost felt guilty asking for help. But you can seriously find so many things here. Fairly priced and you won't leave disappointed for the most part. Self checkout is awesome when working. Mall location makes me annoyed with traffic but other than that, it's fine. Garden section is beautiful and has so much to offer. If you need a spare key made come here. If you need a plant indoor and outdoor come here. They have a large selection of batteries, parking supplies, home supplies, bulbs, DIY stuff, hardware etc. etc. I even picked up some affordable welcome mats and a few fire extinguishers. I ran into Home Depot 2 hours before closing for Thanksgiving. The staff was strategizing I guess for Black Friday. They were not too busy to assist the minute I had a question and informed employee who worked in the area to assist. Maybe other Home Depot stores can learn GREAT customer service from beginning to the register checkout like your store with staff who were genuinely authentic. So, I was looking for a 12-24 inch Christmas tree for my office space at work. Ibotta is offering cash back for shopping at HomeDepot.com so I decided I see if they had an small trees. After a quick search on their website, I found several trees that matched what I was looking for. I also was able to find a small string of lights. I chose to pay online and pick up my items in the store. Their pay online, pickup in store process is much smoother than other merchants I've tried. I walked in and was greeted right away. They found my order quickly and brought my things to me. I am now contemplating on buying my large Christmas tree for my house from them. I had no issues, my items were reasonably priced, and the employees were helpful so I have to give them 5 stars. read more

Came here recently to get supplies for a project. They had a large selection of lumber. Most of it was good, but had to pick through it to find really good pieces. We found our other supplies easily. I've always had great experiences at this location (super helpful staff, especially in the paint center). Today was busy ( it's Saturday so that's expected), but they had plenty of staff working and the check out lines moved quickly (signs out to promote proper social distancing). I came for some of their 5 gallon buckets (can't beat the $3.48 price on those!). They had a great selection of hand sanitizers and antibacterial soaps when you first come in. My real reason for reviewing today though is the BATHROOMS! Low expectations since it's a hardware store but they were SUPER CLEAN! And felt pretty upscale for public bathrooms. I've been here a lot and haven't write a review yet, sheesh. Hard for me to write a review about hardware, it's not really my thing. My husband could probably write a book. Here are the things that I like. They have a nice garden area and I usually get my hanging baskets, tomatoes, etc from here. I always enjoy a walk through that section. At Christmas you can get your tree here too. They have a good variety of grills which is good because it seems like we need a new one every other year. They have nice outdoor furniture including umbrellas if you need something for your backyard patio. We come here a lot and purchase what we need for the house, usually boring stuff like wood and screws and duct tape and more wood, screws, and duct tape. Went in to pick up gallon of porch paint to finish my porch job. The app said has 88 gallons in hand. I could not find any on shelf in its spot. Asked employee in paint who looked again for me. I was told they were out of stock sorry. Showed them their app showing 88 in stock. Stood me down they were out of stock. Went to customer service where employee took item number checked stock. She asked another employee to find it. Pallet on top shelf got ladder and got me what I traveled 45 minutes to buy . I asked original employee to have my paint shaken so they said sure. They put in machine after a few minutes got product and returned home. Then restarting painting paint had not been shaken properly. I had a bad experience. read more

One of the big do it yourself stores, they really have anything you need for the DIY project. Door greeter asks you if they can help direct you to where you are going (really amazing how they have all the aisles memorized). One think I have discovered is that the HDX brand is very comparable to and in many cases better than the name brand (This is the Home Depot brand). Perfect example, weed killer. If you compare the active ingredients they actually are comparable with the higher end and much more expensive Extreme Round-up. They also have electrical, plumbing, wood working, tools, hardware, paint, doors, mail boxes, plants, appliances, etc. When you first walk in if you walk down the main aisle to your left, this is where they place everything that is on special. They really have some deals that are too good to pass up at times. 50% off on Dewalt Drill and Impact Driver sets are hard to pass up, and sell out pretty quickly too. Customer service, specifically help, can be hit or miss. But, I really try to remember that they are trying to help all the other DIY customers trying to do the same thing I am. There is no way they could sufficiently staff to help everyone the second they need help. That being said, when they recognize you need help they do acknowledge that you need help and let you know they will be with you as quickly as they can. They are always friendly and often times can give me a different approach than what I had been thinking of. read more

Update: After getting a call from the local store manager, we did buy a washer and dryer. They gave us approximately $350 toward the purchase and the delivery occurred as scheduled. It took the store about a week to resolve this, but they did to our satisfaction. Lesson: continue to change your purchase and challenge the store. If they want your business then they need to earn it. Better if they do that without having to reduce their profits. We ordered a high end washing machine on 11/23 and agreed to delivery in 12/1. Today, we called to verify delivery and was told at 11am that we'd get a call 30 minutes before the delivery crew would arrive and if we didn't here from them by 430pm, to call back and they would get in touch with the driver. Sounds fair....until.... At 440pm I called and the HD delivery line via their phone system, just as I had done in the morning. Well I got out thru to the store..1st fail. I called back and got someone on the phone and this time they put me on hold and then disconnected me. 2nd fail. I decided to call the store and ask for their help and was connected with the appliance department. When I explained the situation they said they couldn't help me and that I needed to call their delivery team and gave me a new direct number. Why didn't someone own getting this resolved??? 3rd fail. I then called the 800 number and spoke with a young lady who listened, understood, and then called the delivery company only to learn that they only operate M-F and their call center was closed. She had no information other than to tell me to wait and see if they showed. 4th fail. I then decided to go back to calling the original phone number and process again, contacting a young lady by the name of Daysia. She listened and asked me to hold while she called the driver and check the system. The system said they were enroute at 459pm. Daysia asked if we could give them until 6pm to deliver the washing machine and I agreed. At 545pm the driver called to say that they would be at our house in 45 minutes or so. Let's think about this, at 459pm they were enroute to my house and 55 minutes later they needed another 45 minutes. Preposterous in my view. 5th fail. I called the store and asked for the appliance department to cancel the order and asked to speak with the store manager in duty. I was told s/he would call me to discuss this but that the delivery isn't a reflection of Home Depot but of the delivery company, JB Hunt. 7th fail. Seems to me that Home Depot is where I went and bought the washing machine and I agreed to pay to have it delivered while I never said I cared about what company they use. If they don't have confidence in JB Hunt then I suggest they find a new carrier. They lost. $843.72 sale, not a big deal when your company is multi-billion in revenue but I do care how company's treat me and in kind think taking this away from them is best for both of us! Get your logistics service squared away or they will lead to more of the same! Oh yeah, the store manager in duty never called!!! read more

Went to the Hoover location in Alabama to purchase granite. Was helped by GiGi. Purchased granite along with the plumbing service. Was told the granite company would call me to set up an appointment for measurements. Phoenix Stone design called me and said they would contact me in a week to set up a time. More than a week goes by so I called them and was given a time. My daughter works from home in the kitchen so she took off for work that day. Phoenix called to say I was given the wrong time and was given another time causig my daughter to have to take another day off. On the granite installation day they called to say their truck broke down. I had cleared all my cabinets and countertops and my daughter had taken off work again. Was rescheduled for next day and was asked if the plumber had com. Gigi failed to tell me that the plumber would call me to set up a time so I assumed she had set it up. Called her and left several messages but she didn't return my calls. Asked to speak with the store manager and was told he was unavailable and would call back. He didn't. Called the corporate office and they sent an email to Gigi and the store manager to contact the plumber as I didn't know what company they were using and needed the water cut off before the installation. No call back! Called them again and got Ama'ya at the service desk. She was wonderfu. Apologized saying GiGi should have contacted the plumber. She actually set it up and solved the problem. The installers did a rushed and messy job. Seems GiGi wasn't interested in giving any customer service as I had already paid up front. Horrible experienc. read more

Ever since buying our house last year, I have continued to come back to this location for various projects and supplies. They always have carried what we needed and the associates are always very friendly and truly want to help you find what you need. They are also very knowledgeable, and even if you don't have a clue what you are doing, they will explain it well and how to get it done. At one time we even had a mixup on a door order, but they were apologetic and fixed our order and found the door quickly. I will always keep coming back here because of the service, friendly staff, and selection of products. read more

If you're looking for help in lumber, go somewhere else. I've had to repeatedly load and unload large items on my own. I'm a property manger who has to pick up items for my maintenance staff so I'm generally in heels and dress slacks buying deck boards and plywood. Even when I ask for help, it's never answered. So at 5' 100 lbs, I can only do so much. Ive never been in a Home Depot or Lowe's, in the middle of a work day, ever receive this terrible of service in all 5 states I've worked and shopped in. And it's so far been every time Ive come here. At least the cashier is trying to get me help, just no one is bothering to respond. There's probably not much I can tell you about The Home Depot that you don't already know. But what about this... It is a pretty darn good place to find a good, inexpensive Christmas tree. For real. While Christmas tree shopping, we continued to run into $65 and up trees. Surely there were other options, right? We'd been to some great farms in the past, but just didn't have time this year. That's when we decided to stop by Home Depot on a whim. Turns out, they've got great 6' Frazier Furs for only $29.99! We ended up getting a great 7' for only $39. The two guys working in the outdoor department were very helpful and courteous. After I picked out the tree, they did all the dirty work. I usually don't review the big box stores, but I was pretty impressed with this one (and their trees). read more

Stood for 30 minuets waiting, after asking three times, for someone to get a pallet of pavers off the upper self. They never showed up . Sad that I have to drive Fairfield and shop there. I was helped right away and they loaded everything. Attention to the customer makes a big difference. After buying carpet for every carpeted area in my house (5 bedrooms, living room, large den, staircase, closets and hall) I waited for delivery and instillation until October, which was understandable due to Covid, ROMANOFF RENOVATION sent inexperienced installers and the entire job was botched. After many conversations, e mails, pictures 2 inspections it was determined that the entire job had to be redone. My whole house was upside down. They reordered carpet, could not schedule me until 1/21/22 even though the carpet arrived 12/17/21. So, day before instillation I called ROMANOFF RENOVATION to verify the schedule and make sure all carpet was in and ready (last time after tear down of beds, closets etc. they called after 5 on a Saturday night to inform we would not get carpet on our scheduled day) I was assured we were a go. I emptied all rooms and closets AGAIN. They ordered the wrong carpet for part of the job and not enough for the other. During all of this Home Depot and ROMANOFF have failed to do what they offered to do. They don't return calls, they lose everything that is requested by them to be sent so never have reference info or photos when you do get to talk. Given this info, I strongly urge that you avoid doing business with HOME DEPOT in Hoover Alabama or any other of their stores that contract with ROMANOFF. Total frustration. read more

Hey it's Home Depot! The commercials say "you can do it, we can help". I have learned I can't do it but I can buy anything I want here. This place has everything you need and lots you didn't know you needed. Just be careful. I found a lightbulb for my landscape lights. 4 lies away I found the same light. Same manufacturer. Same packaging. Half the price. Hmmmmm not sure what that was about. They have a nice selection of everything. Lots of brands and options. It can be hard to find an employee that actually knows what you need. Most just know where it is on the shelf but they can't help you figure something out. It is my go to for hardware. read more

I used to shop quite a bit at this store but I will never go back after they cut me two blank keys that did not work. After they sent me packing with the second key and told me to try it and it did not work I went up the hill to the old hardware store and got it cut the old-fashioned way, by an expert. First of all, the staff is so helpful that they don't leave you till you are done with your questions. One of the best employee they have is Ron A. He knows everything about the houses. He has all the info you'd need to repair something or to build something new. He would even tell you the easiest way you could get done with your job. He has helped me numerous times.
