I rented a 4" wood chipper from the 99 Northtown Drive Homedepot. The employee that released the chipper to me said it was a new machine and the blade had been replaced the day before. The chipper that was advertised on the website was a blue colored chipper with the inlet and outlet chutes inline with each other. The listing also advertised "Two double edge reversible hardened steel cutting blades." The chipper I received was orange in color, the inlet and outlet chutes were perpendicular to each other, and the cutting wheel only had a single blade on it. When I went to use the chipper, I had to feed the wood in by hand, if I did not push the wood into the blade the wood would simply "dance" inside the chute without getting chipped. I brought the chipper back and asked for a refund because the chipper was not doing its job. I spoke to an employee, Steve, and a manager, Adam, who explained that since I had the chipper for 7 of the 13 hour rental they could do nothing and I would get charged the full day rental. Steve asked Adam if the rental would at least get pro-rated or if there was something they could do, Adam indicated that they couldn't do anything because of the duration I had it, and they were already "over for the month." Adam did offer to discount any other purchases I needed to make so they would be free. I chose not to do anymore business at this store and do not plan to be back. read more

I filled out the form as suggested. No response. I tried a message here no response. I found another way to message, no response. Of course, no response to the complaint lodged in the original phone call. I haven't given up yet. The Better Business Bureau might have something to say, that is next. Maybe something is not going thru, but after so many tries that is doubtful. I would be less upset if they would at least acknowledge they even got a message from me. Less than that makes me more inclined to think it was a scam all along, as it should me thought of. One of the case numbers is 8612963, if anyone from HD is paying attention. I give them a 0 if I could. My 88 yr old mother ordered carpet from this store. The salesperson wrote the wrong color code on the ordered. They installed the incorrect color carpet. When she called to notify them (prior to installation) they said it was HER fault for not checking the invoice! Why is it not the fault of the salesperson?!? The people she talked to at Home Depot were rude and yelled at her! It's not right to treat a paying customer, let alone an 88 year old woman!!! read more

I would rate this place a 0 if I could. We came in to set up carpet installation for our whole house. No one came to talk to us we had to search down a rep. Once we sat with the rep he didn't know what do do and called a rude lady that kept making condescending comments the whole time. We decided to still do the large project. As we were finishing talking about measurements and all that the rep picks up the phone and helps a customer over the phone for like 5 minutes. We got up and walked out. Ended up spending over 6 thousand dollars at Lowe's where they treated us extremely well. DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR LARGE PURCHASES. read more

I was looking for a new dishwasher. I went to the Home Depot closest to me and they refused to match a price that was lower at another store. So, I called the Northtown HD. I talked to Dorisha at customer service. She agreed to price match the DW. I got to Home Depot about 30 minutes later. Di in appliances helped me get set up for delivery and installation. Dorisha and Di had everything done and all I needed to do was pay and sign! Great experience at this Home Depot! read more

I will give it a one star simply because they offer to pick your order and have it ready when you arrive...in a perfect world. Placed order before noon because I have time constraints. Got here at 6:30...oh we are shorthandeded, it hasn't been picked yet. Maybe I can find somebody to pick it. This is a service you offer. You took my money when I ordered it. We moved into our home (whattup, front and backyard!) 2.5years ago. As new homeowners, we were excited to tell people how much we "worked" on our home together. But reality check: it was a new construction and all we really did was slap some cosmetic paint here some closet shelves there. But we couldn't have done it without having Home Depot so close and accessible. When I first went in, I was mortified to realize I don't even know how to paint a god damn wall. Do I need primer? What brand should I get? What finish is best? Am I a dum-dum? But the employees on the floor were super helpful and patient, bless their hearts. We've since been back through the years for supplies such as closet shelving units, miscellaneous hardware, lumber, and garden supplies. However, sometimes the service and assistance can be hit or miss. We've come across both extremely knowledgeable employees and super dismissive ones. But overall, we've always found what we were looking for. And so far our brand new house is still standing ;] read more

The store itself is fine. But one male employee who couldn't have been more than 5 years older than I walked past me and said "How's it going, young lady?" and then another one was hitting on me while I was trying to pick out a succulent for my office. I don't need this kind of sexism in my life. I'll be shopping at the Fridley location from now on. read more

Stay away from RIDGID tools. They don't last as long as the big names and the warranty only looks good on paper but is not honored.

My son died. We need to get out of our home. Memories here hurt every day. We got a realtor on board to help us get out of here ASAP. I went to this Home Depot to order carpet, and they promised a rapid turnaround on installation. I told them about my son because I thought this would assure their support which I desperately needed. I wish I had never opened up my broken heart to them because a week later Karen, the assistant manager, reneged to honor their agreement of a speedy carpet install. She looked me in the eye, as I was crying and begging her to please back their promise and absolutely refused. This is inhumanity at its absolute cruelest. We had painters, and electricians and other workers all scheduled around this carpet install, and after losing a week based on Home Depots initial commitment, (I have this in writing), we have lost the ability to list our home at the time we scheduled. I feel utterly hopeless now. Home Depot is responsible. read more
