We've given this location a bunch of tries since it is located near us, and unfortunately recently the customer service has been poor, at best. It's the type of place where the employees are visibility annoyed if you ask them a question, and they lack knowledge of products (or don't care enough to help). We spent 10 minutes today trying to purchase mulch that was not in their system, and we were treated as if we were the issue (and had to investigate the issue ourselves, since the manager was unwilling to step in (she was standing next to us and knew what was going on), and the nice employee helping us did not know what to do. I absolutely hate to bash local businesses, but the manager at this location has set a toxic standard for customer care, and I would unfortunately avoid this location if you can. This store is the best! Never too busy, great selection, and stellar customer service. I was in on Sunday, 6/14, and Kenzie helped answer all of my questions and select a drill. I just finished ordering a barbecue grill from ACE in Circle Pines. We have been dealing with them since we moved to Lino Lakes 11 years ago. We now live in Blaine, just down the street and we have always had great service from everyone there and all are extremely accommodating. I just got off the phone with Johnny, one of the managers. This is our local hardware store. I can walk here in 15 minutes. I can find what I need in under 10. If I'm an idiot, the helpful staff can find it for me much quicker. They cut glass, make keys, mix paint and do all those little things that can speed a homeowner through his chores. Are they the biggest? no. But they are here when I need them and open plenty of hours. They are the only place in town I could find a waterbed drain kit. Why didn't I look here first? read more

I have been coming to Frattalone's Ace Hardware for over 16 yrs. They are the best! Figured it was about time I wrote them the review they deserve & have earned over and over. Ten yrs ago in a nasty Minnesota blizzard my old one crapped out at the most inopportune time. Roger said no problem and delivered our brand new snowblower at 7 PM. Employees at ACE Hardware Circle pines have always been knowledgeable, pleasant, and helpful. Today wanted to get a window screen replaced and was told to see Tom. Wow, not sure if he suffered a family tragedy or something similar but he acted "grumpy", his advice was inconsistent, he had no interest in helping me, and acted like it was an imposition that I was there. I wanted to know what screen fabrics where available and he made it clear that "we do fiberglass" and anything else is more expensive and takes much longer. "In fact, aluminum and other materials don't fit most frames". When I pointed out the frame I brought in had aluminum screen material already, after a deep sigh, he admitted that maybe aluminum would fit this frame. It was time to leave and take my 34 x 70 screen to a professional. read more

Horrible! Wanted $75 for a new car key w/chip. Bought two on-line for $19. They wouldn't cut them unless I bought the blanks from them. Ok $75 X 2 = $150 + cutting fees vs. $19 + cutting fees. Went somewhere else and cost $3.84. I used t go there for everything, had my snowblower and mower tuned up each year. But will never frequent them again all because they were greedy! No other reason to refuse to cut the keys! Just said it was co. policy... Greed! They would have done it if I paid them $150 for their blanks. Don't go to this store! Steve B. First of all, I wouldnt give the time of day to give my rating for Frattalones in Circle Pines. I dropped off my lawn mower 4 months ago, for a simple tune up. No one told me how much the tune up would cost to begin with, or how long it would take, then I waited, and waited AND WAITED........4 WEEKS AND STILL no word and NO LAWN MOWER!!!!! I finally had to take time off work to go to this CIRCLE PINES STORE to ask what the problem is with getting my DAMN lawn mower back!!!! When I got there some kid told me to go downstairs to the service department. Well, what can I say, What a cluster mess of equimpent I had to fight with just to get to the stairs that lead down to the department, It's amazing the fire marshall allows them to get away with this, or maybe the fire marshall has no idea. The staircase leading to the service department was dark as night and I was a little concern that I may trip over something. When I finally arrived at the bottom of the steps, I WAS ABSOLUTLEY SHOCKED!!!! MORE CLUSTER MESS of open boxes, and not just 1 or 2, I mean there were several, and the smell coming from this area is enough to make ANYONE VOMIT!!! I also saw a SEA of lawn mowers and a few snow blowers crammed into this arear. Mike Frattalone, I thought, This is how you RUN YOUR BUSINESS??? I saw someone moving lawn mowers fighting there way through a mess of mowers, I asked what they were doing, they answered, I have to move all of these mowers just so I can get to the mower I need so I can work on it. They told me that a part for this mower, that has been here for 3 months finally came in. I asked why it took so long for the part? Well, they said, we don't have a full time parts person to help us manage the parts so the mechanics are forced to scamble with ordering parts whenever they can, answering the phones, reading daily e-mails, AND PLAYING secretary. I asked why don't they just hire someone for that, there answer was,,,,,,YEA RIGHT!!!!!!! I heard the phone ring and then saw another mechanic come over to the phone to answer it. So now, I was beginging to understand why it may be taking FOREVER to get MY lawn mower back, it looks like to me, these guys have NO TIME to work on lawnmowers, they are too busy with other distractions and interuptions!!! By this time 2 more cuatomers came down and another mechanic came out. So now I saw 3 mechanics struggling to answer the phones, looking through boxes for parts, sorting through what looked like a note pad of parts. UNBELEIVEABLE, I thought. Does MIKE FRATTALONE even care enough to get these guys some help??? Again I thought, how can these mechanics possiblly concentrate on fixing mowers if they are SO BUSY ANSWERING PHONES, AND HELPING OTHER CUSTOMERS!!!! IT'S simply amazing how a company can allow this CHAOS TO HAPPEN. And then the most scary thought of this is, if these guys are constantly being distracted with all of this CHAOS, want kind of QUALITY WORK can I expect form this store??? TOO many questions went through my mind. I finally had seen enough and told them that I just want my lawn mower back and I will take it to another shop!!!! After spending 15-20 minutes looking for my lawn mower they finally found it. By this time an hour went by. What A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I HAD WITH THIS STORE!!!! MIKE FRATTALONE should be ashamed of himself for allowing this to happen!!!! I will NEVER COME BACK TO THIS STORE AGAIN.....These mechanics are under WAY TOO MUCH DISORGANIZATION AND STRESS FOR ME TO BELIEVE THEY CAN CONCENTRATE ON PROVIDING ME WITH QUALITY WORK!!!!!!! read more

The staff are very helpful with questions and the store is loaded with products that are worth cruising. It is possible to get into and out of the store in short order when one has a specific need, but it's also possible to spend entertaining shopping time, looking at all the stuff on the shelves. read more

Wanted to stop by a local hardware store today - instead of the big box 5 miles away. I was purely disappointed. Joe the Asst. Mgr was super sarcastic (in a patronizing way). The store was clustered and it took three people to figure out where the Round Up is in the back. Tough trip, don't think I will be back. read more
