Ugh HD is SO bad with customer service. The Oxnard store is absolutely the worst. When a Ryobi Rep suggests looking up product info on you tube (seriously true) and their "customer service desk" is appalling and not 1 employee could direct me to the correct isle (plus side, I got my 10k steps in hunting down items on my own!) At the start, I was bringing in an exchange I had delivered, so no receipt but was ready with my purchase history. I entered the store at customer service I had to wait for the employee to be done texting on his phone to let him know I was bringing the item in, so they didn't think I was trying to steal something. He waved me off and said "yeah, yeah, fine" but never looked up from his phone. I am giving away my extensive Ryobi collection and going back to Dewalt, just so I never have to step in HD again This particular HD is over the top bad. read more

A last minute trip to Home Depot became the highlight of my evening thanks to Daisy! I needed to find project boards for two signs that I'm putting together for an outdoor event. I asked the first person I saw for help, a young lady named Daisy. Daisy was quick to show me the different selections of project boards, help me pick out wood stain finishers, and helped me select the proper brush for an oil based stain. We were in full panic-mode, but the crew treated us like long-lost cousins. Cheerful Chad the manager radioed Rick the Chop-Saw Legend for an emergency precision cut, while Drill-Bit Bob guided us to the exact pre-drill bits like some sort of hardware wizard. We were in and out in 20 minutes faster than it took us to break the bed. Left with smiles, a perfectly cut slat, and a renewed faith in humanity. Highly recommend these heroes! read more

This is a shout-out to Michael. He is not only the most helpful associate, he is knowledgeable, kind and patient. He has assisted me about 3-4 times now and ALWAYS helps me find what I need. I also appriciate that he explains options and how to do things. Usually when I walk in the store and ask other people for help they just point the finger to someone else that can "help" but often get misled and have to come back. Went there this afternoon to pick up some supplies and I asked a vendor about the special that ryobi was having where if you bought a kit you would get a tool free. The vendor worked for Milwaukee tools but spent about 15 minutes helping me find what I was looking for. He located the last available kit in the store and helped me find the tool I was to receive free. When I went to the checkout, of course it is only self checkout the item didn't come off my bill as being a gift. I asked the Hispanic lady running the front end about it because my total of $350 worth of merchandise didn't remove the speakers because I bought a kit with a saw and drill with batteries. I had to walk to the other side about 20 feet away to get her attention. She didn't even acknowledge my issue. I went back and found the vendor that was helping me and he confirmed that I bought the correct tools to qualify for the one free item. He scanned them on his handheld device to confirm. I told him the front end cashier ( I presume she was in charge). When he told her she just looked at me briefly, didn't acknowledge me and just kept doing whatever it was she was doing. She wasn't helping any customers because she was just chatting with another female associate. I waited for 5 more minutes while nobody assisted me or even acknowledged me while I was standing at a register that was locked up and other customers were not to pleased that I appeared to just be standing there. I thanked the sales representative from Milwaukee for his help and I just walked away not buying anything. I ended up having to drive to oxnard home depot where there were two sales reps from ryobi working there. They helped me find exactly what I needed and they even went in the backroom to get me an item. They helped me with all my questions and I ended up spending over $600. The front end manager at the Oxnard store dealt with the same issue of the item not coming up free. He personally verified the correct items and price corrected it for me. He apologized for the item not ringing up correctly. There was an actual price difference of $10 on one of the tools. I have been working retail for over forty years mostly in management and the camarillo front end supervisor needs to be trained on how to do her job and be polite to customers. Maybe she would be better suited for a different job in the store. I called the store to speak to the manager and the self service phone line had me on hold for my entire drive to the Oxnard store without the manager picking up the phone. The only friendly employee I have ever interacted with in Camarillo was the guy in charge of lumber. He has always been very friendly and helpful. The rest of your camarillo store needs to be re- trained or find a different job. read more

I've been shopping in this location for months now because our house has gone under an extensive overhaul. Every time I go to this location I'm treated way better than the Oxnard location. Over at the Oxnard location, I had an employee give me attitude for returning something at the return area. I gave that employee a friendly advice to find another job if he's not happy doing simple returns. This is why the Camarillo location is the best one in the county. I get what I need and given no issues even when I have a legit return. read more

Nightmare appliance delivery. Will never buy from Home Depot again. Were were told the delivery would be between 9am and 1 pm. We have been home all morning, but got a notification that the delivery could not be made because no one was home. To address this, I have been passed around on the phone now for over half an hour, being told this department and that department is not responsible for the delivery. Another 20 minutes: Now, they say the item is backordered... When I asked, "Why would they schedule delivery for something they don't have?" I got a long pause, then a promise to "look into it." I am waiting... and waiting... After several more phone calls, they now say they attempted delivery and knocked on our door. This is simply not true, as we have been home all morning, and we cannot miss a knock on the door -- our place is small, and our door opens to our living room, where we have been all morning. It's a lie, or they went to the wrong address. On hold now with yet another person, trying to sort out what comes next... Had to reschedule for another weekend. I took the last big skeleton they had and the friendly girl in customer service (who I think was new) was very helpful. I told her I couldn't take it that day because the box was too big. She had to ring it up as will call. There was a snarky woman with a bad attitude working in customer service as well and didn't really help the new girl. (Put a bad taste in my mouth) (Also was not friendly when I went to pick up my skeleton) Onwards with the story I changed the pickup date but I guess it wasn't updated. The new girl called me to make sure I came and got it so they wouldn't put it back on the floor. I was very impressed. JOE IS THE MAN! Love this Home Depot! I've always had the best experiences getting what I need from this store from plants to tools but today was special! I dropped my phone down the drain outside the store and left thinking I was going to have to purchase a new phone (no less than $800). I came back the next afternoon on my lunch break to check one more time. I prayed that I would find it... JOE being the great guy that he is comes over and asks me what I've lost. I tell him what happened he calms my nerves by saying he can open the drain and check for it. He goes back into the store, gets a tool, opens the drain and goes down and gets my phone. He is GOD SENT and just made me more of a believer in good people so much more! JOE... words cannot express my SINCERE gratitude for your help. Such a great guy to have helped me. I appreciate every time I go to Home Depot and get an employee that genuinely wants to help or is creative. Or knows where things are. A week ago I had been trying to figure out the best way to add a board to my work desk and how to mount it. Even as I was in home depot I didn't consider melamine board because I thought it would be too expensive, not the right thickness or too big or small. But when I went to the lumber section and briefly told Scott what I was trying to do, in seconds he pulled out the board in white and it was only $20. SERVICE: I was looking for a folding table last and the website said there were 14 left in the store. However, I couldn't find them and two other employees could not as well. On my way to check out the first employee, Joe flagged me down and said he found them. The were located atop the pellets. Therefore, he had to get a fort lift to grab the wrapped up tables. Though this took a few minutes I did not care because I appreciated the effort and time to assist me with my table search. He could have said, "sorry can't find them" and gone on with his night. Besides, it gave me a chance to call my mom :). This all turned out to be team effort and now I wanted to simply make the effort in thanking employee, Joe for his customer service and professionalism. I went to Home Depot today to purchase some indoor-outdoor carpets. When I arrived in the carpet and Appliance department, I could see only two sales people. One salesperson was helping a couple buy a washer and dryer and there were two other people waiting to be helped for washers and dryers. The other salesperson was helping a couple with a home improvement project. I stopped two other Home Depot employees for help, and they said I had to wait for the two salespeople in the department. I was not going to wait an hour to get help so I left and will start going to Lowes from now on! read more

From managers stealing customers Apple Watches, to The store giving out expired candy to veterans on Veterans Day, this store is a joke! They don't care about the customers at all! The store manager, Abigale, is the RUDEST person I've ever met! I am a very happy human and say hi to any associate I see, and I praise the ones who do help me. But I've had a few encounters where she was gunna help me and she just either talks to me like I'm stupid, walks away, or points me down a completely wrong isle. But she's not the only one who's done this! My dad is a contractor and has told me many times that the manger for lumber, Gil or gilroy, something like that's, walks away when he needs help so now he avoids that store all together. I've known multiple people who have had the same experience. Wish there company cared more about the customers...I can only imagine how the associates feel. The arrogant and condescending female working in paints said that these products are banned in California. I went to Home Depot tool rental to rent a mini x and spoke with an older gentleman that was extremely nice and professional and said he would put a hold on the Mini X for me to come pick up the following morning at 7 AM so they didn't rent it. 7 o'clock the next morning, I go to pick up the Mini X an Oscar rented it out from underneath me and even took the tag out of the trashcan from where he threw it. Home Depot just cost me a lot of money with guys standing around doing nothing. I will no longer use them an Oscar is a horrible employee. read more

I have ordered 2 Kohler sinks three times in the past week. Each order has been cancelled due to damage in shipping and the transport company returning the shipments prior to bringing it to my home. Each time you call the number provided and they refer you back to Home Depot .com number and the order is cancelled and refunded. The customer then has to reorder at Home Depot.com . You are not notified of the destruction of your order but have to go to the tracking site and see that the order is damaged and will not be delivered.This is absurd and inefficient. read more

I was looking to buy a metal hose reel since my old plastic finally cracked from being exposed to the direct and indirect sunlight UV rays . So I did some research on quality and price . On a rainy Thursday evening I looked at Home Depot website and the reel that I set my sights on , a Liberty Garden aluminum hose reel was in stock, actually 10 in stock. I go there and I don't see the the paricular hose reel on the shelf where it should be. I walk to the service desk and ask Joette ( I think it's spelled ) to contact someone to assist me on finding the hose reel. I guess their phones and intercom system went down , they couldn't contact anyone much to my chagrin. After around 20 minutes of waiting , they found the manager Joaquin. He took me to the isle and shelf where the hose reel is located and found one box of a Hampton Bay reel , apparently Joaquin assured me it was exactly the same as the brand that I was looking for .. he pointed to me the SKU number matched. For my extra waiting I asked Joaquin if they can price match a similar hose reel that Lowes was selling..$10 dollars lower .. Joaquin went above and beyond and lowered the price by half ! I am a general contractor and I buy a lot of things at home depot. I usually spend around 1 to 3 thousand a week there. I also have purchased many tools there. So I had a Makita drill (that I purchased as home depot) and it stopped working after a few months, I have probably 10 Makita drills and many batteries as well as other Makita tools. So I thought that I will bring it back and get a refund? Well, It seems that Home Depot in Camarillo has a thing against bringing tools back. I did not feel like the person at the customer service desk was very interested in helping me. She asked me for my receipt or the card I used. Since I have tons of receipts for all the different jobs I do, having the receipt is nearly impossible as it would take hours to find the receipt. So I swiped my card and for some reason it did not work. So I asked to manually input the card information. I was told no that is not their policy. So basically I was out of luck. So I left the store and I went to the Oxnard Home Depot to see if they were also against returning tools? Well there I found a friendly customer service person gladly helped me with my return. I am not sure what is wrong with the Camarillo Home depot they should treat us contractors a little better, unless they really don't care abut us professionals who by alot of materials from them. read more

Someone had used my account unauthorized and I had questions about it spoke to RENEA the head cashier because I was transferred and she basically told me to go "F" myself not in those words, because she's busy. Kept talking over me instead of listening. Saying things like" have you ever been in Home Depot" obviously I have, I have an account. She then hung the phone up on me as I was speaking. I have been to Home Depot stores all over the United States. At least 20 different states and probably 50 different locations total. Minimum. So I can tell you with confidence that this Home Depot in Camarillo is a great place to spend the majority of your day. If you need some wire or something else cut, don't worry, they will be on it within three hours which doesn't leave you a whole lot of time to see all the sites like filthy bathrooms, employees that look and act like they would rather be in court facing 5 to 10, ad their woefully inadequate hardware section that has every fastener on earth except what you're looking for. Four or five trips to the front to ask for help is all it takes and they're ON IT. Not too shabby if you ask me, and I wish you would. I was once in this Home Depot in Camarillo, trying to buy a fair amount of lumber for a gazebo project. It was probably $2000 worth of lumber if I recall, and the manager flatly told me that they just didn't have the time to pull down the lumber from the racks. Imagine my astonishment at his valiant, selfless attempt to save me from a ton of work building that gazebo, but like I told him, I really needed to get this thing done, though I did appreciate his efforts to unburden me from my task. I finally persuaded him by telling him that maybe I could call somebody at corporate to see if they could send some over someone over with a little bit more time, and then he reconsidered and forced me to complete my construction project. What a bastard, making me work like that. All joking aside, this place sucks. read more

Zero stars for "Phill" (I believe that's his name) in paint. I walk up at 4:40 pm on a Sunday afternoon just to mix a paint sample. Ole "Phill" is busy mixing some paint for someone else, which is fine that's not the issue. Phill proceeds to ignore me like I'm invisible for a few minutes (I'm the sole customer at the counter BTW, who ever he's mixing for isn't there). Finally Phill acknowledges me and says he'll be with me in a bit. I thought that was a great gesture and I instantly felt better. Then ole Phill continues ignoring me (WTF). He then called someone else doing something down an isle to come help him, but never mentions that I'm waiting for assistance. The person he hollered at was a nice woman, but she had no idea I was standing there looking stupid while good ole Phill ignored me. I'm still the only customer, only now two employees are ignoring me. Finally Philly Vanilly just walks away to go do something down an isle. Yep I'm still standing there waiting. FINALLY, the woman looks at me and says "You've been helped right?". I said, "NOPE!". She looks over at Phill the animal, rolls her eyes and asked me what I need. Finally I got assistance after 20 minutes waiting by myself as their only customer. Thank you nice woman for compensating for Phill the jerk's behavior. Oh and there was nobody to complain to because I found out that Phill is the freakin SUPERVISOR!! Fail HD!! read more

He found and cut me planks for the project I needed. He even sorted thru the selection of inventory for me that was on the sales floor. Home Depot is STEALING from its customers! I tried to return a broken faucet and sink they sold me with a receipt and they would not even give me a store credit because it was over 90 days. I am being blamed because too much time has passed. The counter top was delayed because of shipping issues by over two months, not all the counter stone was shipped so we had to cancel the one bathroom. No need for the one sink, still in box as new as the day I picked up the order. The faucet was put in but the cold side was broken so we used the second one, I had no idea a store can sell you something broken and not give you at least credit back. They told me to go to a website for Home Depot that doesn't help me at all. It just states 90-day return. They still sell the same sink in the store, its up on the wall and in stock, they could re-sell this one. Why can they not just give a store credit! read more

After having a terrible experience with Lowe's delivery service, I purchased a new washer and dryer from Home Depot, and their delivery team was amazing! I have a three-story townhouse, with the laundry on the top floor and a very narrow staircase, so the drivers had an extremely difficult job. George and Andres never complained while removing my old washer and dryer and installing the new one, and they were also very mindful not to damage the floor or walls.
