I am a loyal customer of Home Depot. In recent years, my major purchases from Home Depot. Included, but not limited to, a self-propelled gas-lawn mower with starter, a shed, and a gas range. My recent experience with Home Depot (Richmond), after purchasing a dishwasher, however, is a great disappointment. I ordered a compressor and then found out that it was going to take a moth to arrive so we cancelled before it was shipped. Then a week later we got an email saying that it had been shipped. Called home depot refund escalated by supervisor, no refund, called again and again and again and again and again same story. Still no refund. As pensioners we are paying interest on this money that we can't afford. This is disgusting! Frustrating! Time consuming! And the worst service ever! I was in this location to purchase a new washing machine that I had already picked out at the south common location it was the last one left in thier system. We called and reserved unit before traveling to the location They had the price @ southcommen store for 1034.00 for a display model and the assured me they would match the price. I get into the location working with a helpful man named Henry, I told Henry that the associate said they would honour their price at his location. They were selling machine for 1549.99 plus delivery. Henry said he would have to get a approval from assistant manager Tiffany, She was abrupt and said no way are we matching the price to one of thier sister stores a mark down of 500+ dollars. I said to her that is unfair we just drove across city to get unit at price they had tagged on floor, she belted out you can't call me names. At no point did I call the manager names I had 2 other people with me that will verify that. I decide to keep cool and walk to front of store and speak to a general manager but they were not in. Chris appeared and he already was given Tiffany's version of the story and he said best he would do is a markdown of $200.00 bringing machine to 1349.00. I being a educated consumer look on line and for CAS APPLIANCES had machine on for 1179.99 with a free 3 year warrenty. I asked Chris if they would honour thier price match on the unit. Chris said that the would only match price not beat because it's a model they are still carrying. I said fine and paid for unit cause I had babysitter waiting for us to return. The unit was supposed to be brand new in box. I though I could work out something with the General manager at a later date after delivery. Henry said to me and my wife that he would call us first thing Tuesday with the delivery time, we called back 2 consecutive days to get time frame NOW THINGS GET WORSE!!! Day of delivery I see drivers pull up in front of my home and start to unbox the unit and they looked puzzled, the unit had scratches on top of machine due to it being open before they place it on my drive way and I did walk around of machine and notice marks and said I would be in touch with Home Depot due to the fact that it was the last one in box, we paid for a white glove delivery service witch the connect the unit up as long as all hoses were disconnected witch I did prior to them arriving. Driver left and I go to washer and notice a bunch of whit scuffs all over side of machine, further investigation showed they hit my railing and damage my wall witch was recently painted. The management team obviously dosnt know policy's or anything about appliances. I made compliant day of purchase at Home Depots Canadian head office. Obviously they just care about taking peoples money and do not care about customers cause as of this review I had to call and update them on the issues on delivery, they just forward that compliant back to the store witch I had issues with. Most likely same managers I was dealing with just ignored my compliant and no call back whatsoever about the horrible experience from this location. Since this I have found better price at Best Buy Canada for same machine for even cheaper then CAS appliances of 1144.98! Had them come out to steam clean my carpet Nov 6. They used a company called Steam Dry. The carpet looked worse than when they came. It only took him roughly 3/4 hr to do living room and inside 2 bedrooms and hallway and stairs. Looks like he reused dirty water as really stained now and was not like this before. I contacted and sent pictures and they came out again 2 days later but it still is not clean. I would not recommend. I contacted customer service for Steam Dry and they said that sometimes happens. Unreal now I have to live with stained carpets due to them not using proper cleaning products or having professionals that know what they are doing. Not contacting them again as if not clean after 2nd time probably won;t be good even after a 3rd time. read more

Normally I wouldnt take the time to write a review but I get pretty frustrated with HomeDepot American prices vs Canadian prices that I feel compelled to say something. In some cases the price is more thsan double for the same thing. I get our dollar is worth less but we are only talking 21 percent right now. Terrible service. We placed an online order for over $18,000 it has been a nightmare spanning from january through to mid May. Wrong items, broken items and literally over 17 hours on hold trying to talk with customer service. It is still not resolved. Partial refunds for their screw ups have cost me thousands of dollars. we were promised a discount due to the dammages. Then the next time we called they denied that anyone would have told us that. The call center people are 100% not english speaking! Making translation very difficult! I will not ever place an online order with them again. I went into the store last weekend to try and sort it out, while the people i dealt with were nice, they were not wquipped to deal with my issue. home depot used to have people who know about products and were helpful. Ordered a garage rubber matt x 2. It is a heavy product so I kind of have to be here to receive it. Went on their webpage to get up dates on delivery, every time get an error message saying try again later. Finally contacted them via phone and was told sometime next week for delivery. No date given, just sometime next week. I have never seen such a piss poor web page and I cant help but feel they just dont care about you after the sale is made. We purchased a new Heat Pump and furnace as well as humidifier in our home for $15,000 from Home Depot. Home Depot subcontracted the installation to A Plus Air System. After the installation we had very dry air in the house which caused us discomfort sleeping at night. We often called A Plus Air to service our system annually. 9 years had passed and we finally discovered that A Plus Air had never cut a hole into the furnace duct to allow moist air to flow from our humidifier through our heating system. They attached the humidifier flange to the solid metal wall of the exterior of the furnace with 8 screws but never cut a 6 inch hole into the furnace. They have the sales contract yet denied they installed the humidifier and refused responsibility unless I provided my receipt. We are very disappointed with The Home Depot Canada as they have not supported us in our claim. Home Depot likewise has proof that we paid them for the system but they are denying our claim unless we can produce our contract - suggesting that it didn't include the humidifier. All our components are Trane. We would never shop around for a $500 humidifier when I had them instal everything including a tankless water heater. I went to the store on 137 ave in Edmonton looking for some copper wire to make some colloidal copper with my 9-volt battery-powered colloidal silver machine. As I was about to look for some help in the wire section, a man asked me if I needed help. I said yes, and explained to him that I was looking for some copper wire to make some colloidal copper. He then took the time to explain the differences in electricity flow through various thicknesses of copper wire and advised me to go online and check to see what other people were using before making the purchase. In seeing some wire that looked like the right thickness, I asked if he could lower the conveyer so I could get a better look. He did so and I thought since it was only .92 cents a meter, I would buy 1 meter and try it out. Well, I am happy to say after stripping the insulation off the wire and installing it in my machine, it worked perfectly! I made a liter of colloidal copper with a nice blue tint in about 6 hours. A subway what?! What a good choice for employees who work here. This location is the same as any other home depot, although their season for christmas decorations are quite pricey. A great place to get household tools and replacements. They are equipped with modern appliances even the fridges have built in camera app monitoring if you want to check what's at home when grocery shopping, but it's pricey. You can also find specific items online before coming to this or any other location. I find it saves time but if your old fashion then come on down and take a gander by browsing around. Staff is friendly and parking is moderately big. They have self check out stations which is useful if you want to be quick and on the go. One out of two items I ordered never arrived despite it saying delivered. I received the item that did arrive directly from the delivery driver and asked him if the other item was in the truck as well and he said it wasn't and that, that was the only item he had for me in the shipment. When I contacted Home Depot the support I received was in adequate and I was told that there was nothing that could be done other than for me to wait until a manager could review the issue. When I asked how long that would take I was told it would be at least a week which is unacceptable for an item that was already 1.5 weeks late. When I pointed this out and asked for the item to be refunded I was told that was not possible. Home Depot has my money and I don't have what I ordered and Home Depot will not give me my money back. So I would avoid ordering items online from Home Depot at all cost and I would recommend doing business, either online or in person, with a company that cares about it's customers. read more

So I ordered a dishwasher in January with the install and everything. The next week I'm told that my dishwasher is delayed. However they took the money out of my account in January because it had 'shipped'. They send an email a few days later saying my order has been cancelled, so I talk to customer service to make sure that my money will be coming back. Customer service tells me that the order is not cancelled but the dishwasher is now delayed until March. March rolls around and still no dishwasher, so I talk to customer service and they said that the order was cancelled back in January. So I ask where my money is then and when will my refund be coming. They tell me because it was cancelled it was just an authorized charge and the money was never taken out. However my credit card statement from January says I was charged and the money was never returned. As Home Depot customer service has no idea where my money is and why I've been waiting for a cancelled dishwasher since January, they suggest I call my bank. So now I've had to call my bank to dispute the $1500 charge. Basically, I'm missing $1,500, still have no dishwasher and I've lost over 5 hours of my life in trying to deal with this. I ordered a washer and dryer set from my local store, for delivery. Big mistake. Home Depot uses Canada Cartage and Kore Logistics to ship and warehouse/deliver orders. The problem is Kore is incompetent. I'm told by Kore the Edmonton warehouse is literally full and orders are blocked in. It has been this way for at least 4 months. I had to learn this on my own after hours of 'communication' with Home Depot and their customer service people. Everyone I contacted was unable to answer any questions, and unwilling/able(?) to find out. Why have a customer service number that doesn't know anything and can't find out? Why have customer service if they cant advocate for their customers? Eventually I got to the Kore number. Good luck getting anyone to answer the phone. At least I was able to learn that my washer and dryer are in Edmonton, since July 30, just buried. Why does Home Depot work with known incompetent companies? They've known for a long time, and have had complaints about Kore. Why have customer service when they just pass the buck to the next company and tell you there is nothing they can do? They have no problem taking your order and promising great things. They just are unwilling to deliver on the promises. They just say sorry and nothing happens. My Dishwasher was to arrive on Saturday and my installer was to come in on Monday for the instal. 30 minutes before arrival of the dishwasher i get a call that the delivery truck broke down and I will get my delivery on Tuesday. Spent over an hour with home depot on the phone trying to reschedule the installer but nothing was resolved. After an hour they told me that the installer will call me back. Would like to start off and say the in store staff are wonderful..but that's where it stops. I had ordered a washer and dryer from the Home Depot which was back ordered 6 weeks (which we were fine with) when it came to the week of the delivery we were contacted and told it was going to be another 6 weeks. When the operator told us this obviously we were upset as had we known this we would of gone elsewhere. The operator ensured me that once the order was delivered we can call back and request compensation for the delay and they do it all the time, this turns out was a complete lie not only did they refused to do anything about it. After fighting with them for over an hour on the phone they gave me $100 back (0.04% of the total order). When the washer arrived it was scratched down the one side. The operator then offered me a whopping $170 for the machine, at this point I would of been further ahead purchasing this exact unit from a scratch and dent store for 25% less cost and much less headache. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE FRONT DOORS AT HOME DEPOT!! My experience has been terrible after paying over 5,000 for my front door. I complained numerous times when they were first installed and they finally came and replaced the door and it has the same problem sunlight coming through at the bottom of the door and ice in the winter. To top it off the trim around the door is MELTING from the sun and all distorted. I did some research and found a family in Nova Scotia that had to get a consumer advocate from CBC to finally get her door fixed and she also had ice due to he gap in the bottom of the door. I had a professional door company come and look at my door and they informed me the entire door has to be replaced but I can keep the same glass and the estimate is about $2500 I am also going to send a complaint to Consumer Protection Ontario. DANGER DANGER !! Do not buy Home Depot gift cards !! My son bought me one for my Birthday and when I was going to use it in the store it did not Work. The lady watched as I took off the security sticker on the back so she could scan it and couple of numbers came off. She told me they had this problem and there is nothing they can do. You have to get the person who gave you the gift card and try to take it back where you bought it. I demeaned to talk to the Supervisor she said there is nothing they can do. I even called corprate customer service and they told me the same think. You are probably out the money if you don't have the receipt They didn't real care that this is an on going problem with gift cards. "Probably a bad patch" he said. I feel it necessary to share my ordeal with Home Depot, so that others won't go through what I did. On May 14, 2021, I ordered a Rheem water heater at Home Depot. The heater came with a 12-year part warranty. It is a top-of-the-line product they sell. I also purchased an extended 10-year labor warranty on top, and asked Home Depot's installer to install the new heater for me. I thought the whole process would be drama-free. After all, it was a one-stop-shop experience with a major retailer. How could I go wrong? I was wrong! On May 19, 2021, the installer brought in the heater and installed it for me. When the installation was about to complete, the installer found that the heater had a defective part. The water heater could not operate. The installer ordered a replacement part. I was told that the faulty part would be replaced in 2 days at most. Six days later, there was still no replacement. I called and emailed Home Depot and the installer multiple times. Emails to Home Depot got only auto-reply. Phone calls to Home Depot, I was put on hold for half and hour before connecting with a human. Sometimes, my line was even dropped while waiting. Ironically, I was asked to leave a feedback at the end of the call. What a joke! If they truly want my feedbacks, here it is. Despite the multiple contacts, the replacement part was nowhere in sight, as if no one cared. With the new, top-of-time water heater, I had no hot water for almost a week. While the heater was dead, my credit card was charged the full price on the date of installation. The warranty including the extended warranty also commenced on the day of installation, even though technically the installation was incomplete and the heater was not operational. On the 6th day of waiting, I called the installer again and yelled at them on the phone. The lack of hot water had became unbearable. I escalated the issue to Better Business Bureau as I felt cheated in this purchase. Finally, on the 6th day after the first installation, the installer came and swapped out the faulty part. The multiple visits of the installer was by itself unacceptable in this pandemic time. However, I had no choice but to let them in, or my new water heater wouldn't be fixed. The installer only knew how to blame the manufacturer. Home Depot only knew how to pass the bug to their contractor. In the end, I, as their customer, was hanging out to dry. Soon after the repair, I escalated to Home Depot for proper resolution on this matter. Initially, Home Depot offered me a $150 gift card. It was an insult for what I went through. Later, they increased the offer to $250 and asked if it was fair. No, it was neither fair nor reasonable. It's a shame for the poor customer services and defective product they provided. Finally, they increased the offer to $450, and suggested me to either take it or leave it. More importantly, for a multi-national retailer in the business, the way Home Depot behaved is no better than a mom-and-pop corner store. When I ordered the water heater and the installation service from Home Depot, I was told that if I rescheduled the installation for whatever reasons, I would be charged $125 + HST every time. However, when they failed to meet their end of the bargain, all they offered me as a concession is $75 a day. Also, none of my warranties (be that the factory or the extended) was adjusted to start on the date when the work was substantially completed, contrary to the industry standard. This is terrible for a company that prides itself as a reputable retailer in the renovation business. I feel the need to share my ordeal with Home Depot, so that no one would face the same experience as mine. If Yelp allowed me to give me zero star, I'm sure I would. I've lost track of the number of times I've been to this Home Depot. Let's just say it's many. I think we're purchased something from every department. The most recent purchase as chair rail and base boards for our rec room. We looked at many other hardware stores and found this to be the best place. Part of what we liked about buying these things here is that there was room to maneuver in the aisles and lets face it, when you have 3-4 meters of chair rail and base boards you need to be able to move with it. The service we received was good (as usual) and the gentleman helping us cut our lengths of chair rail and baseboard carried on a long conversation with my husband about carpentry - common interests. oh if I could give a - number, I certainly would. We ordered a Saluspa online and it was delivered to our carport. We were not able to inspect it and did not sign any delivery paperwork. Upon set up the very next day, the pump is faulty (leaking from the bottom), we immediatly within 12 hours of receiving this item, called and live chatted with home depot. The agent confirmed the return, looked into replacing the pump only, looked into how we could get it packaged back up and returned and then confirmed the retun. He then put us through to the return agent. The return agent then denied the return as spas are not returnable(which isnoted) but we mentioned, we were not able to inspect it and accept it and that the original agent had gone through all of that and then some. They proceeded to tell us that that agent didn't know anything as he was frontline only????? We were escalated to the Dashboard team that basically said the same thing and then shut the chat. So here we are with an $800 unit that doesn't work. I really expected more from Home Depot. I would like to take legal action as I feel this is just disgusting but not sure what the next step is. If your system is not working: fix it. if you don't have the product: update it, dont sale it, call a few days later and tell us to come back in to wait for an hour just to get a refund and not be able to reorder the product due to the fact that you only have one person trained. This is a bit long, but I'm hoping you please read all of it. I've been waiting on the finish of my renovations to post this for the end result. I started a kitchen renovation last October. Worked with a designer from Home Depot. She was difficult from day one, and at times rude. Annoyed at any of my changes. I thought that was the idea of a designer, was to help you get the right fit for your space and needs. Unfortunately, lowes could not do the things I needed in their mid line cupboards. Was promised my custom order cabinets from Home Depot for the last week of November. Enio took the week of December 12th off to allow for a couple week delay. Cupboards did not show up. When I started to press the designer in December about the delivery, she would not take my calls or answer my emails. I find out the first week of January that she retired December 31st. I guess the reason of her lack of enthusiasm for my order. As the order showed up January 14th, it was clear there were issues from the moment we opened them. As we started installing, drawers were breaking, doors were falling apart, there was damage to several pieces and somehow the sink cabinet was water damaged?? Worse, the island was completely the wrong color and there were many wrong cabinets. The designer missed the measurements. The window wall was short space by 9" for the cabinets. The over range cabinets allowed only 19" of space to the range hood. Code is 30". My 48" gas range is in her pictures. The pantry wall had 3 sets, to be 24" deep, one of the uppers was only 12" deep. I guess to attach to thin air?? The designer sold me $400 worth of soft close hinges as she said my order did not come with them,but they did. She should know her product. The pantry wall was 5 1/4" from the ceiling when the rest of the cabinets are 4 1/4". Leaving issues with the crown moulding. The island is a very, very dark grey, nearly black which was to be light grey for a mild contrast to the white cabinets. The fridge upper and panels are so tight , you can hardly fit the fridge. Etc, etc, etc. As I obviously made complaints to Home Depot immediately. I was given what they call a resolution specialist. This person promised everything fixed. By this point I have been living with no workable kitchen for 3 months. 7 people. The specialist took longer and longer to get back to me, each time promising answers by the end of day. One of his emails,tells me that he has such serious problems far greater than mine that I was not a priority. He said things as gas and roof leaks. SCARY TO THINK OF BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS! It took until march for the order to go back to the cabinet maker for correct cabinets. Then several more weeks to get the doors replaced. I canceled their counter people as I would never use Home Depot again. My deposit for the counter I'm told is at the Woodstock location as a store credit and I can go drive and pick it up. Originally, I was told to consider it a service fee? I was promised compensation for all the trouble and the wrong island colour. At the end of all of this ridiculous situation, my resolution was NOTHING. The BBB tried to resolve things but we were unsuccessful. Home Depot's answer is they gave me $2,800 is extra cabinets. The cupboards I got were the replacement ones that were wrong and damaged. One of the replacement cabinets fell apart as we were placing it up. Their holes, fasteners etc. we had to L bracket to reinforce and create completely new screw holes, glue it and more. They sent no fasteners for any of the new drawer fronts. Most of the replacement doors are mitred very poorly. This was to be a very exciting project and beautiful custom kitchen for me. It has been completely ruined by this company. I'm my eyes a horrible, horrible rude, lying company. I urge anyone who needs goods like what the Home Depot Carrie's that you find another store. I WILL NEVER, EVER USE HOME DEPOT FOR ANYTHING AGAIN. As there are still unresolved problems that they do not want to address, I have had to hire a lawyer . read more

The customer service is beyond disappointing. It's been 1.5 months since I made an order and no one can tell me when the item is coming, if it all. I was charged when I ordered the item so not sure how they can't even get a specific delivery date. The store is insanely confused, told me the item is there and to come pick it up only to show up, wait 45 min and be told it's not there. They keep giving me these fake delivery dates forcing me to call every week for a status. Insanely frustrating. Being fed up I will now ask for a full refund and go elsewhere. read more

Normally I wouldn't bother writing a review on Home Depot since it's a hit and miss with good customer service, on the most part I think I would give them a 3. This review is on a guy name Chris (or Kris can't remember) not only is he very helpful in finding things for you, he actually will take the time to talk to you and find out what you need for your project. He also went above and beyond when hubby's husky tool box was broken. Husky guarentee's for life for their tools, but the box it was in well some guy in the tool dept said not so much...when we were passing the till, Chris (Kris) overheard us, he said it should be covered and called a manager, it was and the entire tool box and contents were replaced. It's amazing that there still are people out there that are about the customer! read more

Thought I'd share this. I had a service guy assess a noise coming from our whirlpool fridge purchased July of 2019. A noise at which id never heard before as it was loud enough to wake you from your sleep. ( And still does) There's a paragraph on a home depots as that states if they come to your home three times for the same problem and can't fix it, it will be replaced or your money refunded. Not true. Comerco is the warranty company. This is the explaination as to why there will be no further warranty work. This was under whirlpools 1 year warranty. Extended warranty wants nothing to do with it as it was within the first year. Comerco does not take into consideration what the vendor's technician has done within the period that the manufacturer's warranty is in effect. So regardless of how many times the technician visited/made repairs, that is not a basis for them to replace an appliance. If Comerco's technician finds the appliance irreparable on the first visit, a replacement will be processed. As per the terms and conditions of the esp (Section 3), depending on the appliance, unless 4 main parts have been changed, no replacement will be issued. This applies to both fridge and unitized washer dryer. read more
