Impossible to find staff, I found what I was looking for and headed to check out. Again no one at check out only to be told to check my own items out when an employee walked over. I set everything down and advised "this is how it is now". Not for me, and never again. Self checkout cost workers their jobs... and now cost them customers. read more

So this was my first time placing a curbside pickup order I brought a broom and a debris dustpan. So it was a big dustpan meant for outdoor pickup. What I didn't know was that it would come with the dirt already in it! I kid you not this guy actually put this thing in my car I didn't notice till I got home and took it out that someone had apparently used it before he brought it out to the car it already had dirt in it and was scuffed up! I wondered why it was taking him so long to put my items in the car since I only got three small items. Now that I think about it I think he was trying to knock some of the dirt out of it but clearly there was some left! It was a really bad rainy day so I didn't bother taking it back because it was going to be for the outdoors anyway but just knowing that this was the value they placed on the items that they sold that they would bring a dirty used dustpan and put it in my vehicle. After all I did pay the full price for a new item and didn't expect to get a scuffed up dirty item even if it was for the outdoors. I don't think I'll be placing any more orders here again. read more

I had a warranty problem with my table saw. The Rigid Company gave me bad information by giving me a list of their service providers. It turned out none of those providers still did warranty work for Rigid (or the business had closed). Went to the Cartersville Home Depot for bathroom faucets, paint, and other related items. Waited 15 minutes trying to get help with the faucet while I could see employees standing around talking and not helping customers. This is not the first time this has happened to me in this particular store. Also there are never any registers open other than self checkout. We were left stumbling around the paint isle early in the morning for about half an hour before going out of our way to find help. Then we were provided with insufficient supplies needed for our job. Went to Home Depot Cartersville to purchase 15 bags of cement. For what ever reason the forklift was not available to retreive the bags from the shelf. First employee literally some how injures his finger immediately and disappears. 2nd employee struggles to lift and load the bags so my husband (at 67 years old) basically has to take the majority of them off the shelf and put them on his flat bed cart. Goes up front to pay for them and original employee is still playing in the first aid kit. If this company does not hire staff with the understanding they are to actually be of assistance to it's customers it should be posted at the door so customers know to go somewhere else with their money read more

Got ready to checkout and noticed several contractors being checked out in the pro service area, while only self checkout available for the individual sales. As I approached cashier to assist she frowned and said well can you tell me what you have (as I had a large cart with much of it being molding which has to be measured to be priced). She frowned and started to scan one item when another cashier approached and asked if she had started the transaction. The first cashier lied to her and told her no. This second cashier looked at the cash register screen after the first walked off. She then took an accusatory tone with me and asked if I scanned something in an angry tone. I answered no. The new cashier then said something in regards to wanting to harm the first cashier and grumbled about her saying once she started a transaction she should finish it. She then asked me to hold all the boards upright while she sorted through them. As she added them, I got to be overloaded (like holding a tree of giant spaghetti sticks), and the boards started unfolding in a teepee shape on me. I continued struggling with the boards for several minutes managing to keep them from sliding everywhere . Meanwhile, another employee filled the cola cabinet next to me never offering his assistance. The cashier then said, in an unfriendly tone, you should have got one of the other type carts. She then said you can just put all those boards on the floor; without concerning herself to assist me. I struggled getting the boards to the floor without damaging them. I ran outside to the lumber end to get one of the other carts and returned with it. The cashier apologized to other patrons saying she was sorry about the mess and all the noise I was causing (not in a joking manner). She rang them up first while I picked up the boards. She did at least move some of the boards on my first cart to the second cart so there WAS that. As a former associate and long time customer this was the worst experience I have ever had at a store I really love. C'mon Cartersville! :^( read more

Three workers standing at the end of self checkouts talking and pointing people into self checkout. No registers open except line to return at customer service. Why can't at least one of the workers talking and pointing open a register? I had three long skinny items that would not fit in a bag, Did not need a cart,no place to lay them after scanned except on wet floor (very rainy day). Ughhh read more

Wanted to take a moment to offer a shout out to a young woman in the gardening department, Randi. I have had some difficulty trying to find some of the plants I wanted and was dismayed at several stores when the "help" had no idea how to answer even the simplest of my questions. Randi fixed all that. What she did not know she was prepared to find out for me even if it meant having to stop whatever she was doing. Always greeted as soon as we walk in. Each department has courteous and knowledgeable staff who take the time to assist with customers. We especially love christmas time, and always purchase our live tree from this Home Depot location. Our service has always been exceptional. They even trim our tree to our liking, wrap it up, lay down paper, and strap it securely to our vehicle (ensuring that the tree doesn't leave scratches). I ordered a grill on line Black Friday for a Christmas gift. The conformation stated it would be delivered between 12/8 and 12/12. I called just to check the status and was told it would be the end of December before it would even be processed and sent out the first of January. The lady I spoke to in customer service said she could get me the grill in the store and I could pick it up since they are in stock. Once she gave me the location I told her I could go there to get it. Then she came back and said I would have to pay the full price of $169.00. I asked her why would I pay $70.00 more for the grill when online it was $99.00? She told me the store price is different, but had I ordered it and requested store pickup instead of home delivery, I would have got it for $99.00. I told her to just forget it. This is poor customer service and it makes no sense at all to me. I will not be ordering online anything that Home Depot has. In the future I will go to Lowes. read more
