This Home Depot needs an extreme store makeover. Employees (many, but not all) lack communication skills and are not knowledgeable about products. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER! buying a simple dishwasher. I've never been so frustrated by incompetent staff as I've been dealing with the staff at Home Depot in Cedar City, Ut. We paid to have the dishwasher delivered and installed. The last straw was when the delivery person refused to install the dishwasher because they didn't want to hook up the drain line???? Recently purchased an appliance that was delivered in seemingly good condition. They told us we had 48-hours to report issues. Our initial inspection failed to notice this unit was used and damaged. We waited a week to install the unit before noticing the damage. Home Depot stood by their 48-hour window and refused to do anything. I understand standing by their policy but to deliver used and damaged things is unacceptable. Beware when buying from Home Depot! read more

The paint department has been like an extended home for our company. Every time I come Jordan is taking care of 3 people at once. And some how always so efficient. Me: standing in the relevant department, asks "do you have wall paper adhesive?" Associate: "we don't have wallpaper" Me: "I'm looking for wallpaper ADHESIVE." Gone in 4 times, at different times of the day, window dept, nobody there. I walk up to the customer service desk to ask if anyone is working on that dept after wandering around 20 minutes looking for someone. Their answer? Someone might be in the pro dept, walk down to the other side of the store to see if they're there. How about you call down there instead of wasting my time searching? Worst customer service ever. I truly despise Home Depot, I worked for them 25 years ago and they are now just the typical too big to care store now. Unfortunately we're stuck with them in this small town. Phenomenal customer service. This store is the friendliest Home Depot I have ever been in, and I've been in several in various states. As I walk the aisles I am greeted and asked if I need anything. I am working on a remodel and bought cabinets, wood pieces, stain, hardware, etc. and each department has been very helpful. It is a pleasure to shop at this store. read more

I will never buy from Home Depot again!! I purchased a refrigerator from the Cedar City Utah store. The FIRST thing I asked was do you deliver to Brian Head, will you deliver to the third floor up stairs and will you remove my old appliance. She assured me that would be no problem. They didn't have it in store, but she again assured me it would be there and ready for delivery by the following week, about 9 days. Well it didn't arrive for almost a month and then they told me I would have to schedule the delivery and that would not be available for another month. I'm patient at this point and said ok. Scheduled the delivery. I live 300+ miles from this condo being delivered to. I plan a trip and drive down. The delivery day came and they send me a text. "Your delivery time will be between 6am and 8pm" I'm starting to get a little irritated at this point. Finally about 5:00 pm they call and say they're on their way. They get here and tell me they won't bring it up to my condo and they would leave it in the parking garage. At this point I'm beyond irritated! I call to talk with the store manager and he's too busy to handle the problem. They person I talked to told me they would refund my money BUT. I might need to drive another hour to their store to get it! I will NEVER buy anything from ANY Home Depot again. This is the WORST customer experience I've had, EVER! read more

One star only because ZERO stars isn't an option. I called the store on 1/12 to verify that they had a 20" stove in stock, put it in my cart, paid for it, and arranged to have it delivered. On the day (today) it was to be delivered, I received an email that my order was cancelled. Called the store and spoke to the ASM Scott. All he could say is that it was never in stock, that the computer messed up. No the computer didn't mess up! You sold my stove to someone who walked in and bought it and now you're tap dancing to get another one delivered to me! It'll be delivered done time "mid-February". read more

If you buy a storm door here expect a crappy job of having it installed! Paid $200.00 for one and installation was a very unprofessional job. He not only scratched our new door he left a gap all around the molding. When asked all we heard was that was the way the doors are made to fit now and any trim work was an extra cost! After complaining at the store the installer said he would make it right but at his own cost but after watching him installing the door I could just imagine how it would look! At my age of 79 I thought I was though with home repair but I see I have one more project, at least it will be done right! read more

This home depot is now a dictatorship, until today I have spent thousands of dollars at the Cedar City location, I will now make ALL purchases at Lowe's in St. George, and I live in Cedar City. The home depot employees have and will come at customers aggressively if they enter or exit a door that THE HOME DEPOT EMPLOYEE(s) considers to be the wrong door. (example that has happened to myself and others) If I walk in the entrance and Immediately turn around to go back outside an employee will attempt to stop the customer in an aggressive manner, VIOLATING THE 6 FOOT RECOMMENDATION, and will definitely yell at the customer. There is NO stay at home order in Utah and if there was how would home depot be considered essential services. I am consulting my attorney on this and will seek out others who would want to seek legal action against the Cedar City home depot. This treatment does not happen at the St. George utah location (s), and is in NO way acceptable. An immediate boycott should happen against the Cedar City, Utah location if not other locations. read more

All that AND: They keep the motorized scooters charged so that a person who has a little trouble walking all those aisles can use a scooter and save strength for the job at home. I was in search of a new front door for my house and ended up at Home Depot in the door department talking to Lucy. I was told the process is that they have someone come to my house and measure my door and then they will get back with me as to what doors would work. Knowing my house, I knew the door would be standard sized. So while I was there I chose a standard door that and took a picture of all the info on it. They came and measured for the door and confirmed its a standard door. The next day I received a call from Lucy telling me that I will have to special order a door and it will be at least $800 for the door and $800 for the installation. Floored, I let her know the guy who measured said it's a standard door. She then insisted on the custom door, I said no and would appreciate if they would double check with the guy who measured the door. Lucy, seeming very inconvenienced with this request attempted to call the guy and was unable to get ahold of him. We continued going in and calling Lucy for over a week before my husband finally had enough and went into the store and talked to a different person in the door department, who looked at our measurements and in moments knew it is indeed a standard door. After fighting this battle for over a week, my husband was upset and decided to talk to the manager Derrick about this. The manager said he would get to the bottom of it and call by noon the next day. Lucy called instead and said she had approval for a standard door. So I went into home depot and noticing the door I had picked what's not where I had seen it, asked if they had it in stock. Lucy then assured me they did and so trusting her I paid for the door and installation. I then got a phone call the next day asking if they could install it the following day. 20 minutes after they were suppose to be to my house I received a phone call from Home Depot service desk saying the door I had already bought and paid for was not in stock and would not be for another 10 days. They then tried to sell me on a cheaper door that would require painting. I asked to speak to the manager. He once again said he would get down to the bottom of this and get back to me. He then called me back and said he had located a door like the one I had already bought at a store in Richfield and would be trying to get someone to go and pick it up. Agreeing with this, I left it at that hoping to get my new door potentially still the same day since it was only 9:30 a.m. at this point. After not hearing back from the manager, I called at 4:30 p.m. to inquire about my door. The manager had gone home for the day and had not found anybody to go pick up my door from Richfield. After hearing this and feeling very frustrated that he had not communicated this. I then asked if my brother could go pick it up from the Richfield Home Depot and bring it over to me. With being refunded some of my money back as compensation, which I was told they would do. I was told of course they could do that. I then asked if they would make it easy on my brother, who goes in for back surgery in 10 days, by having it at the service desk with his name on it and have somebody help load it. I was assured they would. The next day, my brother went into pick up the door, when he got there the door was not ready and nobody at the service desk had any idea. He then spoke to the manager and called me. The manager had no idea. She was very snappy and I had to tell her the story over the phone and all the door details. The Cedar City Home Depot had not done what they said they would do, again. My brother was able to take the door, but only one person helped him load it while others were talking. The install was then scheduled again. The gentleman that did the install did a wonderful job, he however had to make a second trip to the Cedar City Home Depot since they had given him some of the wrong parts to install. I was expecting the Cedar City manager to follow up with a phone call to discuss the compensation and refund he had promised. But two days after the door was installed I still had not heard from him, not shocked, I called Home Depot to discuss it. He of course is not in and so here I am, still waiting for a phone call from the Manager. I can't say all door buying experiences from Home Depot are terrible, but this was certainly out of the book of nightmares and I would not recommend it. read more

Unfortunately this is the only large hardware store in The town of Cedar city Utah . Seems they have an overabundance of employees in the store but not too many of them are willing to help, A lot of standing around and talking to each other. A lot of this you have to deal with every where you go but when it comes to being rude the girl at the front desk was the dealbreaker.
