I have been switching between Lowe's and Home Depot for years. The past few trips have been to Home Depot, with the most recent visit being on Saturday. Upon entry, I was warmly greeted by an associate who asked if I had any questions. I asked her two and she correctly pointed me to the correct aisles. When looking at sealers for concrete, I wasn't sure about my choice. At that moment another associate was passing by. She didn't know the answer, so she volunteered to find someone who did. A short time later she returned with the answer that confirmed my fear. As a result, I had another question, for which she one again went and sought out the answer. It was the most incredible experience I've had at either Lowe's or Home Depot. Period! Thank you, Nia, for all of your help. Your personality was warm and kind. Your help was priceless. As long as this type of service continues, Home Depot will be the home store of choice for the family and me. read more

Amazing store, the prodesk Mike, Marlene, Tiffany& Sheridan at the Pro desk have helped us through corrective actions from contractor, axiness, shortcuts and errors during our 4 year home and property renovation. They have either had or helped me source every item or part needed. This store not only gixef delivery issues when the wrong product was attempted to be delivered or in a few cases delivered from colonial heights, but made sure I got the right items quickly They are awesome with price matching and markdowns if product is damaged. Least helpful associates to date - which says a lot! I ask associate, after associate, after associate, and they don't even bother to look for the item. They automatically assume it's out of stock and instruct me to place an order online. Which I did, and selected store pick-up. It will be ready for pickup in 2 hours. Which means it was ALWAYS in stock! They're just too lazy to put any effort forward into resolving an issue. If there was another available option in the nearby area, I would go there, any day of the week. By the way, this is coming from a customer that spends thousands upon thousands of dollars. You would think they would have the smallest interest in fostering a positive customer experience. All they care about is clocking in, and clocking out. read more

I do not know why this store only has 2.7 stars on Yelp if I can put the store at five stars I would the Manager David is absolutely amazing. The store manager David goes above and beyond the call of duty he helped me with an online situation of a refrigerator that wasn't even linked to his Store. I love going into the store particularly to shop. ....I always find somebody to help me and take the extra time to explain things or to lead me to a product that I don't know where it's at so I highly recommend this store to anybody. I am pro HOMEDEPOT you get the best quality of stuff for the greatest value. Their selection is great. I grew up being from the West Coast and being pro HOMEDEPOT I personally cannot stand Lowes or anything that they represent their Customer Service is the worst. Please don't ever buy any riding mower from there to be delivered. they woo deliver you a beat up piece of equipment and charge you full price. I purchased a $3600 zero turn mower and received a display model with everything on it rusted. I've spent over $10'000 dollars with Home Depot since December of last year and haven't had any issues until this one. They had 8 brand new in the crate in the back. I'm confused as to why wood you give a customer a display instead of a new model that they purchased. I will not be spending my money there again if that the type of service they provide. read more

This location has some bs with them. First of all I go online to look at interior doors. So then I call the store with questions. Ok, if you're answering the phone and you are CLUELESS find someone who knows the answers to the question. This idiot tells me you can't schedule a appointment online for someone to come to your home to do measurements you need to come into the store. And right now we don't have any door people here. Hmm, really Smdh! So I call back the next day I speak to a different associate. I assumed she took down my information because she evidently LIED but anyway she said someone would call me back for the appointment. Ok it's been over a week. We ordered a countertop from them. They got the dimensions wrong and we sent it back. The person overseeing our countertop moved and no one took over managing our order. We waited WEEKS to get the countertop and had to keep calling and checking in to make sure they were actually working on our order. When we finally got the counters, they were warped and not straight but we didn't want to wait additional weeks for a new one. They offered us a small gift card in compensation for their error, but we have now been waiting WEEKS to receive this gift card. We have showed up at the store and made numerous phone calls and they keep giving us excuses. I would recommend you stay away from working with this store. read more

We have always had good luck with this location. Upon my most recent visit on a Saturday we were warmly greeted and asked if we needed any help finding anything. We were able to find staff pretty easily to help us as sometimes in these stores the staff act like you are taking them away from something but we had no problems and the staff we spoke with in the plumbing and electrical departments were knowledgeable and helpful. When we checked out there was only one lane open so we had to wait a little bit but wasn't a big deal. This is our go to for home supplies in the area. read more

The staff at Home Depot on Jeff Davis is lazy and don't help customers . I asked 2 staff (Jayla and Brando) if one of them could help me with some plants They both said they had to stay there and count people Qhen I asked the manager (Chip)he said onnly one person was at the wnttrance and one at exit. So they lied and at leqat they should have called the manager and just laughed after I started walking away. Brando was not there when I brought the manager back. There was also an older woman that was counting the people leaving and she just stood there and ignored me. I have been going to this Home Depot for over a decade and although I had issues, it was rare. Almost always had a very good experience with the staff and the contracted installations here. From ordering window blinds, to having lumber and concrete mix delivered, to purchasing new floor tiles and kitchen backsplash ordered and installed, I have been pretty happy with this Chester Home Depot. read more

The woman I spoke with had blonde hair and said she was a manager. I had my mask on because they have a sign up to wear a mask. She said "I can't understand a word you are saying" very rudely. Honestly the worst Home Depot I've ever been to. Normally I can't wait for 5 minutes without an employee asking me if I need help. Well here I am in this one spending 20 minutes just trying to find an employee and then once I do, another 30 for him to come help me. Then the employee was acting like a smart ass for no reason. I had visited another Home Depot store to get stain samples for my fence. Unfortunately, the associate at that location was unable to find the correct tints in the computer. The next day, I went to the Chester location, expecting that I would get the same answer as the day prior. Albert was manning the paint counter by himself, and had several orders going at once. I thought I was going to have to explain what I was looking for, but Albert is a true professional! He knew exactly what I was asking for, and told me it would be ready in a few minutes. As I waited, I saw him completing orders for other customers, handing them their paint as they returned to the counter. He was clearly busy, but remained calm and friendly throughout! I am in love with this store. I have to restrain myself from spending more time there. I normally shop online and then have supplies delivered to the store or my house. Home Depot has an outstanding selection of everything I need for my house at reasonable prices. I shop elsewhere but usually end up buying here. Some of the employees are great, but some seriously need customer service training and lack traditional, good manners. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. I'm not crazy about this Home Depot location I typically have gone to the Mechanicsville location in the past and have had better experiences. This location personally I found it difficult to find help on the floor or even someone who knew the store pretty well. We were looking for patio/porch chairs what I've learned is that they don't have that big of a selection to begin with, but it took a while for the sales associate on the floor to help us find out where else in the store they were located. I guess they were too busy talking to other coworkers to actually walk us around to where they were. That's why I'm giving them 3 stars because their customer service could use some improvement. read more

What a PITA! Working so many hours I had only 1 day off to insulate my house and decided on Home Depot since it was so close by. I really don't feel like typing the whole story out with details but long story short what should have been simple 2hr max job turned into an all day ordeal. Basically the employees were more than helpful, from the front desk to the floor guy in insulation, but the rental machine did not work properly so we had to hull it back up there and the only other machine they had on hand was out of order. Seems somebody slipped up not inspecting the machines upon return or corporate was not doing their part providing them with replacements in a timely manner. Had to travel to CHeights location for another machine after returning the 1st. Had even more problems in cheights which I will review that location separately. If it weren't for good employees and that everything was settled in the end (no extra compensation for all that lost time however) this would be a 1 star review. Very bad experience, will be traveling that extra mile and shopping big blue from now on if I'm able. read more

Stood around for 10 minutes waiting for someone to come help us get a bathroom ceiling fan from a box on a high shelf. The guy that showed up first claimed he would go get someone to help us (not sure why he couldn't). The guy he got said he wasn't allowed to lift anything. Finally had to go to another section and flag down a guy that could move the ladder and lift a 5 lb box. Unbelievable. read more

I bought three Glacier bay toilet, more than a month ago. I install one of three, then I notice the toilet was poor design and quality. I returned the other two at the Home Depot on Jeff Davis. The lady and the store manager told me some stupid story and it's was on clearance and you can only get a penny back. Yes, they said a penny for two toilets I paid $129.00 each. I didn't have my receipt, so store credit was just fine. Because I was buying two KOHLER toilets to replace two Glacier bay toilet . I check at a difference Home Depot in Colonial Heights and NO; the store did not have it on clearance the price was still $129.00. They lie to me about the clearance. I went to the original Home Depot where I purchased three glacier bay toilets in Colonial Heights. They did not hassle me, and got my store credit and bought two KOHLER toilets. What really upset me was the Manager said" are sure you didn't buy it at Lowes, because you wearing a Kobalt shirt. I found my receipt for the three toilets two days later. I felt like they treated me like a thief. The same Home Depot on Jefferson Davis, I try to find E clip a month or so ago, before this toilet incident. I spoke to five Associates and they did not know what that was. I recommend Lowes with the no hassle return and the MyLowe card that keep track of all my purchases. I wasn't going to return the third toilet. I found the receipt two days later and the customer service upset so much. I going to return the third toilet as soon I install the other two. I going straight to Lowes and buy the KOHLER toilet. Now, they open up a can of worms. My wife and I, order 2 Vanity cabinet. Before they arrive at the Jefferson Davis store, they told us we can get the 10 percent Military discount when we pick up the special order. They gave us the run around why we can't get the military discount. Those reasons above are enough, not ever to shop at any Home depot. read more

Horrible costumer service. So i get there at 958 granted it close to closing but there were still people in, and coming out of the store when i walk to the doors. the big lady at bulk pick up door area thats watching me walk to the doors from the parking lot tries to hide as if i don't see her. i walk in the main entrance and a tall black gentleman informs me that they're closed and i cant go in because he has already closed out All of the cash registers. As if im not looking at people paying right in front of me. Then i respond OK well i just would like to get a price check so i know exactly what i want and how much it cost. To which he replys " Oh i know we have what your looking for but all the registers are all ready closed out." Even though i just stated that i just want to look at prices. They must train them to talk more jive than a used car salesman here. Horrible customer service here go a min up the street to Lowes where i arrived at 10:06 (after they closed) and they served me letting price check my items for future reference. read more
