I have been to many Home Depot locations all over the state and a few neighboring states and I must say that one thing that sets this location apart from all others is that there is a very nice young man named Alex who always asks me if I need help loading my plywood into my truck. That right there is enough to want to make me come to this location over others. Great customer service! read more

I usually have positive experiences at this Home Depot and pretty much all of the employees are helpful and kind when I ask for assistance. However, my recent visit to customer service was disappointing Amanda and Johnay made it feel like helping customers was an inconvenience. They made speaking with them uncomfortable. Of course, No one is asking for fake happy employees and I understand that working in customer service can be stressful, but basic patience and respect shouldn't be optional. We ordered a gas stove on the 13th of February, they had 5 in stock at the warehouse. They were supposed to deliver it on Wednesday the 17th, but we were put off because of the winter storm. That I understand. They called on the 17th and scheduled us for Wednesday the 24th. Then on the 23rd they called and said that GE would call us within 48 hours to reschedule. GE called and said we didn't get our order turned in on time (which was ordered on the 13th). Now they are saying March 4th (maybe). DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!! Update 3/4/21 They called and said they would be there within 45 minutes. It only took them 1:37 minutes (with no call) and they brought out a damaged unit. HECK NO!! Our church ordered a mini split air conditioning system from college station home Depot. When it came in we were surprised to find that we had just paid almost $2,000 for a box of broken floor tiles. We were blessed to be able to get a refund and then make a reorder. When our mini split system finally came in we were happy that we received the condenser unit and the air handler unit and what seemed like the rest of the components. But during the middle of installation process we came to the realization that the copper line kit was missing. So finally after some wrestling and negotiating we were just now recently called by home Depot that they found our copper line kit for our mini split tucked away somewhere in their warehouse this was an infuriating process that I hope to never have to go through again. read more

Management does not give AF about its clients. I rented a tiller from here.... was told if I did not have the physical Home Depot credit card on me - I could not use it. "Because I could be anyone using the credit card" regardless of the fact that I had my ID and social. I was told a week prior it would not be a problem. Hence why I signed up for the card in the first place. I rented the tiller, then no one offered to help me load it. A 265+ machine - I brought a trailer but geeze a little help Would be nice. I called the store manager - he legit seemed concerned and said he would be there when I returned the unit later in the day and he wasn't there. I've shopped Hone Depot for decades. I'm certainly not one of their big clients but I spend a fair amount of money. Year before last about $45,000.00. Last year around $7,500.00. Their Military Discount was a great advantage saving me thousands. However, last year the Depot started removing inventory that was eligible for a military discount. First it was lumber, then this, or that. Today I purchased a $16.00 broom and a 100' of PEX. Total of $75 and change. That's about what my military discount was, change. A $1.69 to be exact. They gave a discount on the broom. They got the PEX back. I'll go to Lowes or McCoys later today for the PEX which will come with a 10% military discount. New first time homeowner so I've become very familiar with this Home Depot. Always a good experience but recently it was especially great. I went in before work at 7 am. The employee that normally worked in the lumber department wasn't there yet, so Louis from a different department helped me, called a manager on the phone and made sure I walked out the door with exactly what I needed. Ordered the Air compressor May 21, the shipper (Estes) made an appointment to deliver on June 3 between 3:30 and 5:30pm, but never showed up. Estes voice phone uses "extended hold times" and then drops the call. I asked Home Depot (using Chat) to cancel the order and refund my payment, but they told me I have to wait till after the promised delivery date of June 9 and then refuse the delivery. Now the delivery day is extended, and the compressor seems to be stuck in Houston. My shop can't run without this tool. This will be the last time I buy anything from Home Depot. read more

December 2018, I purchased nearly $2,600 worth of material and items for a home improvement I was working on. My military ID is expired, but I always carry a PDF of my DD-214 on my phone. I also have Honorable Veteran Plates, and my Drivers License shows I am a Veteran. Though all of this was presented at checkout, they refused to apply the 10% discount because I didn't have a military ID. I don't think the store manager, or the floor staff really understands the military policy at all, especially with how many veterans are employed there. $260 is a large chunk of my paycheck and I was hoping to get that discount. Maybe a 2 Star rating isn't fair, but it isn't the first time this has happened at this location... I've recited my Credit Card from memory at this store to pay for my items (got a thing with numbers), but they won't accept a DD 214 or DL as proof you are a veteran... Capitalism at its finest I guess. So long story short, unless you have gone to a VA and obtained a military ID, don't plan on using a military discount on any of your purchases at Home Depot in College Station. Customer service is non-existent most of the time unless big bosses are there then you can't take three steps before someone asks if they can help you. Today I went in to get Some 8 ft cedar fence pickets the website showed to have 327. I could not find them but it was hard to look because they had about two truckloads of lumber stacked in the isles. I walked around for 30 minutes looking and trying to get some help but never saw one employee. I was not going to walk the whole store to get help. I've been to Home Depot more times than I care to remember. They always seem to have what we need, though. I was at Petsmart the other day picking up my pup when I remembered my darling husband asked me to pick him up an energy drink on the way home. Now that I had the dog, I didn't want to leave him in the car while I ran into a store. Then, I had an epiphany! Home Depot is next door, they have energy drinks, and they allow doggies! I had three copies of a key made Saturday that were a terrible match. Did not work and got me locked out of my house! Went back and I was happy that they recut them without any fuss. However, this set of keys did not work either. At that point, I gave up and went to the MinuteKey kiosk at Lowe's and had my key properly duplicated. I go to the C.S. Home Depot when I'm pressed for time, since its half as far as Lowe's. But each time, I end up spending longer than if I went to Lowe's, because I have more difficulty finding what I need. Also the variety and stocking is inferior to the Bryan Lowe's. Two weeks ago, I needed some standard sized wood screws, but I had to settle for a different style and length in that gauge. And that's not the first time they've been out of stock in bolts & screws. For years, unlike the nearby Lowes stores, they used to carry Toro-brand sprinkler parts (heads, extenders, etc.), but not anymore. All they have left is just to parts that aren't very useful. Home Depot contracted my water heater installation to ARS Rescu Rooter. It was the actual contractor that was horrible but since Home Depot told me there wasnt another company that they used for hot water heater installs, it falls under them as well. So I had to buy from Lowes to get way from these people. Hot water heater installers never showed up. I took off work because the window of 10-2 was such a huge gap of the day.They weren't even apologetic. I was so upset I called hone depot to make a complaint. This contractor was rude and unprofessional from start to finish. The killing part was I called to get an estimate and they couldn't tell me. They said it depends. I just wanted high end to low end kind of estimate but I said Ok well let me call a few more people and I'll get back with y'all. They called back 20 minutes later on my work direct line which I never gave them and doesn't show up on caller I'd. This means they called the operator on the main number and got transferred. Then didn't want to get off the phone when I said I was in the middle of something and I'll call back. They kept saying it will only take a minute. Well I wasn't alone in the office and didn't want everybody to hear my business so I insisted that they let me call back. I asked what the callback number was and the woman had the audacity to say "the same one you called on", Well I didn't have the number because I just dialed the number from the website and thought it would be easier for her just to give me the number. They did all this harassment and didn't even call or show up. I called them at 130p on the day of the install to see how far out the tech was. They said they don't come in to College Station on Tuesdays. I asked why hadn't someone called and told me they made a mistake. They should have saw on a calendar or through dispatch thar I was scheduled wrong. The answer to my question was "I don't know". I asked for a manager. He got on the phone and let me ecplain what happened. His response "that is correct we dont come to College Station on Tuesdays and I dont know why they didnt call you". Probably one of the best Home Depot stores I have visited. I visited the store today, May 9, 2017 around 3pm. A young lady, Kelsey, was extremely helpful. I needed to purchase some tool boxes that were on the top shelf of the top stock. I got the first box down myself using the smaller yellow ladders for customer use, but needed the bigger orange ladder for the other two boxes. She had no issues with me using the yellow ladder, which is nice because, according to store policy, they are designed for that purpose, yet every other store always seem to scold you if you try to use one. She started to attempt to get the product down off the top shelf. She ended up getting some assistance from another very helpful young lady. They actually seemed like they weren't inconvenienced by helping a patron and appeared to enjoy helping me. The gentleman handling self checkout was awesome. I had forgot some items and when I came back through the self checkout, he made some small talk with me, yet, he didn't hinder my ability to checkout. Overall, I can't commend them enough. Being that this store is over 60 miles away, I may entertain traveling to this store more frequently, passing by two other Home Depot stores. read more

I've had supremely terrible service here in the past, but needed some lumber, so decided to come to this location instead of going a little farther to Lowe's. HUGE mistake. We had our cart filled with lumber, got to the front and FOUR workers stared at us for a good thirty seconds before one finally said "do you need help or something?" Nearly left the lumber there, but it would have just been more work for us. My advice is to avoid this place like the plague. The absolute WORST customer service in the area...sales people walking around, either on phones or like zombies! Not ONE of them askef if I needed help finding something. So, I decided I would order what I needed online since it appeared the item wasn't in the store. But when I got to the pay page, it appeared that the store DID have some in stock. I went to the customer service (that's an oxymoron, of a sort) to ask if they have them or not, so I would know if I needed to go ahead with the order. The girl at the register in front of me was talking on the phone ...it WAS business. But, when she hung up, she walked away to the side register where someone had just come in to return something. I didn't say anything (out loud, that is) and figured I would get helped after that. But noooo...appears a friend of hers came in to return something before she had finished with the first person, so she was friendly and helpful to thethem! When I was about to lose my mind the other guy working behind the counter finally came over because he was finished with his customer and asked if he could help and I told him the problem I was having standing there while three other customers were waited on and I was being ignored. He informed me that "oh she doesn't even work in this department". I don't care! If that WAS the case (obviously she CAN do something in that department, since she IS!! All you had to do was say so instead of ignore a customer (me), who had waited patiently (at first) like they hhadn't been standing there for 10 minuted! She was the final straw! I left, I WON'T place that online order and I won't go back. I hope a lot of other people end up going to the other big box stores, where you CAN get waited on, even if it is eventually! This week my wife and I decided to add to her kitchen cabinets. We found a match for them in this store, but they did not have the size in stock. When we inquired about ordering it in or if there was another store to find the cabinets, the store was not very helpful. It was quite difficult to get someone to help and it was not professional service. We finally made about a dozen phone calls and found what we were looking for at a store about 100 miles away and had to drive there to pick them up. HomeDepot.com was unhelpful as well, and we could not connect with their national line. This was not a good experience. We will go to Lowe's, in the future, and only shop Home Depot if they are the only game in town. read more

Had an absolutely wonderful customer experience here courtesy or Jim, Nelson, and Ragan of the tool Rental department of home Depot on Friday August 27. Jim introduced himself and pointed me towards the product that fit my need the best, and showed me every feature of the product, how to set it up, pre cautions, and ways to get the job done efficiently and effectively. He was very thourough and encouraging. Nelson and Ragan we're very friendly and knowledgeable with the equipment and gave us friendly smiles and advice, and altogether made our day very bright. We left knowing we'd be back again after having a discouraging experience with a competitor. read more

Do not use Home Depot for any plumbing services. They use ARS plumbing out of Houston. ARS will not show up when they are supposed to and keep making excuses. They also overcharge. $1200 for a 2 hr. water heater installation and I bought the heater. read more

We were having simple kitchen installs and updates done and what should have been a week project has turned into a three month nightmare. Miscommunications between Home Depot, their employees and sub-contractors has made this project horrible. On top of it, our contact at HD left during the middle of the chaos and didn't tell us and didn't reschedule anything. The work that's completed is beautiful, but not worth the hassle this has turned in to. The management has not been organized in dealing with this and not very friendly.
