I'm really not that impressed with any Home Depot. But out of convenience, I find myself in one from time to time. My main problem is the store website lists that items are in stock and upon visiting the store, you find out it's not the case. I am very disappointed when one employee of a company knows what initiatives the company values and implements when other employees do not have the same knowledge. Home Depot takes part in recycling programs as it's clearly stated on their website https://ecoactions.homedepot.com/blog/home-depot-recycling-programs/ When I called the Home Depot in Copiague the day before, an employee said they recycle Styrofoam and to bring it to the customer service. Today I went to customer service and the employee working at the front desk said the complete opposite. I spoke with the general manager of the store and then she referred me to call 1-800-HOME-DEPOT (1-800-466-3337) . Once I called 1-800-Home-Depot they said the company does recycle Styrofoam, but some stores based on state policies are not required to offer these services. I suggested this should be noted on the company website as what states take part in this initiative versus which ones are not recycling Styrofoam as an example. read more

I THOUGHT I HAD HOPE, BUT IN THE END I WAS THE DOPE. THEN I COULDN'T COPE with just being left out there on the floor thinking that a HOME DEPOT ASSOCIATE was really helping me. I wanted to purchase one 60 inch wheelbarrow handle. The store online indicated there was 102 in stock on Aisle 1 Bay 11 but there was ZERO TO BE FOUND. I found an associate women (picture enclosed) who ran the SKU said she had to find someone to retrieve them from storage. As I waited for her to return the clock was ticking. 20 mins later I found her in the garden center helping someone else? When I confronted her about leaving me hanging, she told me her boss who knew where the stock was in the store was at a meeting. Now why on earth couldn't she tell me this earlier??? She freaking waisted my time!!! So bounced and drove over to the HD Farmingdale NY Location, and guess what? Right in my face, stocked with 8 just like I found on the Home Depot Farmingdale website. I mean like WTF !!! SO IF I PLAN TO GO TO HOME DEPOT AGAIN I WILL STICK WITH ROUTE 110 IN SUFFOLK COUNTY. Looks like all stores are NOT created equal and neither is MANAGEMENT. Besides you'd be doing yourself a Favor in the end because there is a LOWES and a WALMART 10 mins apart from HD FARMINGDALE. This way if you need to bounce out of HD Farmingdale at any time you'll have options. I gave the Copiague HD just 2 stars because on several occasions I have been aggravated at that store. Customer Service these days are JOKE, and after 6pm I noticed Copiague HD is a ghost town for hired help on the floor. I ordered a microwave online and it was curbside assistance and the box was unbelievably destroyed and they said oh it's not damaged inside it's just the outside I took it home and it is damaged inside I need to let microwave for my 96-year-old friend. I went all the way to your store from Valley Stream for you guys to bring out the box looking like that and damaged microwave it's disgusting now I have to go look for another microwave and I wasted my time. For a Home Depot, this one gets all my stars. The Copiague Home Depot is always well organized. All of the aisles are labeled, some with icons of the items as well. This is the best time of year to visit if you are looking to get your back yard or garden ready for spring. They have recently put out all of the nice patio sets, outdoor fireplaces, BBQ's, and plants & flowers. They also have an excellent assortment of Easter themes flower baskets as well. Lots of displays with different succulents. Hanging baskets, window boxes, and more. I added a few pics of these, because they looked really nice. There were even some succulent planters in the shape of owls and snails. Succulents are great for those of us who do not have a particularly green thumb. You can get away with watering them as little as once a month and they will stay plump and healthy. Some will even flower once or twice throughout the season. The staff here is very knowledgeable. They always seem to know where even the most obscure type of screw can be found, down to the eye level of the shelf it's on. It's as if they have been trained for some sort of home improvement Jeopardy challenge. Also, the self-checkout lanes move fast thanks to one of the most up to date checkout systems I've seen in any store. You don't even have to remove larger items from your cart. Just scan everything with the scanner gun and you're done. Easy-peasy! All in all, I really enjoy shopping here. :-) read more

I needed to buy more driveway sealer for a second coat and my local Home Depot was out. I checked the HD app and it said the Copiague store had it in stock. I call to confirm and was told they did have it. I drive 45 minutes and get to the store and find out that there are none in stock. I tell the story to the guy in hardware who says "This happens all the time". I go customer service and ask to speak to a manager. I'm told she just walked by. They get her in the phone. She never speaks to me but tells them that the product is not in stock. So this manager who manages the person who gave me wrong information, never comes out to talk to, never apologizes to me and makes no attempt at providing any kind of customer service. Two hours out of my life wasted and I didn't even get an apology from someone in charge. The management here is a joke. My first experience with this store is also my last. read more

I came to Home Depot to purchase sand to fill weight bags for outdoor cantilever umbrellas. The only person outside was the cashier. I asked where the bags were and if there was someone to help me. He pointed indside and said there was someone in gardening who could help. I went to the back by sand to wait for help. Suffice it to say no one showed up and I had to load the bags myself. Scratching my arm up pretty good in the process. I was pretty perturbed and went right to customer service. I had to load 200 pounds of sand myself the manager came by and said he would help me put it in my car. Too little too late. The worst costumer service. I ordered a nest thermostat online. I did not like the color I went to the store to exchange it for the color I wanted and they had it in stock. The customer service rep said he can not exchange it. I asked to speak with the manager who he called on the phone and the manager refuse to speak with us and would not meet with us. Let me preface this by saying the service at this Home Depot is subpar. There are two Home Depots in the area, here in Copaigue and Farmingdale at the airport. Farmingdale is a big one, and the service is meh. The service here is even worse than Farmingdale. Farmingdale is busy so at least they have a legitimate excuse. This place is sleepy to moderate. Pro desk seems understaffed and confused. One guy comes to work and serves the guy right behind me in line. When I questioned this, the employee simply said, "I thought (the guy behind the pro desk) was helping you" So if you come here be sure to be very proactive and et the employees attention otherwise they'll serve the person behind you. You'll also find that items are misstocked even at 8 am. For example, you'll find 50 dollar items shelved where the price tags say 25 dollars. In general you want to match the 6 digit SKU numbers to always be sure but they seem particularly sloppy here. read more

I went to this Home Depot on Sunday to order a Patio Heater that they advertised on their website. I was told they had just gotten a delivery and I would have to purchase and get it another day after they unloaded the truck. I stopped by on Monday the holiday to try and get it. I was told it was still on the truck and I would receive an email to pick it up. On Thursday 10/15/20 I called to see if I could pick it up. I spoke to one of the managers and he informed me that it was written that I picked up the item already. I told him I never received the item and asked if I could speak to Tom the manager I dealt with when I ordered it on Sunday and tried to pick it up on Monday. Recently just ordered 17 boxes of Weaber weathered board in the color Nantucket gray. Had to get it delivered due to COVID19. After bringing 17 boxes in and opening it I discover the grey is actually more of a blue. I love the store itself and the employees that work there. However I bought a beautiful ceiling fan for my kitchen. I had a contractor install it and no remote receiver. I called the company and they sent me a new one, I called my contractor back to install it,, that one did not work,,, so again weeks later still no fan working I called them back to tell them it is not working. Karen W at home depot "customer care" gave me such an attitude almost like it was my fault. After I explained what happened she told me to bring the fan into the nearest Home Depot,, I told her it was on my ceiling and I would have to call my contractor back to remove it, which is not free, I again explained the remote receiver was what I needed. She sends me an email on Dec 22nd saying she emailed them to obtain a new one. Haven't heard anything at all,, not an email, no remote receiver,, nothing,, talk about not caring about the customer,, I am so disgusted every time I look up at my ceiling fan. If I could give her a negative 0 I would. If you ever buy something with any parts missing/defective do yourself a favor and if Karen W answers hang up and call back again. They don't know how to measure nor count here. Get a truck, take your wood home and cut it. They will never get it right, and they won't make good on it either. This review is for a workshop taught by Thor/Devin! We came for an interior paint & drywall repair workshop today and learned a lot. The instructor wasn't a super duper pro but he definitely knew what he was doing and kept it interesting and fun. We learned about types of paint, types of brushes, when to use each, and obviously about different ways to repair walls and install/repair molding. It was great that he let us spackle, sand, paint and install molding ourselves instead of just watching him do it. Officially ready to fix some walls! read more

I went to buy a barbecue at Farmingdale after already picking it out online and making sure it was in stock..... half an hour of waiting in the store and they tell me it is NOT in stock. They sent me to copiague which is supposed to have 5 in stock.
