Crazy amazing. I looked all over the Internet for a particular product. I needed it yesterday. Finally decided on Home Depot in Dahlonega. Doug was at the customer service desk and quickly got the manager that I requested. Denise was the manager who met me on the designated aisle. I had a very special request. My husband, daughter, and I just left your store. We went to this location to look at and order a refrigerator. We looked at refrigerators for approximately 10-15 minutes, and no one asked us if we needed help. Employees made eye contact with us but did not speak or ask if we needed help. I was extremely frustrated with the level of customer care we received, so we left that department. As we walked through the store, not one employee spoke to us. Some of the employees would not even make eye contact with us. It became a game with me as we approached a new employee to see how the employee reacted. Not one spoke- it was bizarre. DELIVERY DRIVER THREATENED ME AND MY WIFE ! First of all, this is my local HD and I shop here all of the time. The employees are almost always very friendly and helpful. This review in no way reflects the in-store staff. We recently purchased new refrigerator from this store (free delivery/install included) and it was to be delivered yesterday between 2pm-6pm. To get the new fridge into our house I had to; widen the kitchen doorway, trim the cabinet above the fridge, remove the storm door, and take the front door off of it's hinges. I was working on these tasks when the delivery service showed up without any warning at 11am. I caught them before they unloaded the fridge and told the driver that it couldn't be delivered until after 2pm as scheduled and explained why. He said "Well, I'm not coming back", then got in his truck and left. I called the # on my invoice and was told that the driver would return after 2pm as scheduled. The driver returned at 3pm, unloaded and unboxed the fridge in the street. There was a large diagonal gash on the freezer drawer front. I told him that I couldn't accept delivery. While he loaded it back into the truck, I took photos of the damaged fridge, his license plate, and the company name/USDOT# on the side of his truck. Up until this point, he was smiling and seemed happy. He then became very angry and loud, telling me that I was not allowed to take photos of his truck. I told him that I was just documenting delivery of a damaged item, no big deal. He kept repeating loudly that I could not take pictures of him or his truck as I took pictures. My wife asked to see the box from the fridge and this made him more agitated. The damage on the box did not match the damage on the fridge. My wife said that we should just go back into the house, so we turned and started back up our driveway. I heard the driver say "Hey!" and when I looked back he pointed two fingers at his eyes and then at us and said "I'll be back, I'll see you again" in a threatening manner. Now because of this, my wife couldn't sleep last night, she is scared that this guy will come back and try to vandalize something and/or try to attack us or our kids. As unhinged as this guy was, I can't say that I blame her. It has me on edge as well. I am going today to purchase security cameras and lights because of this incident. We have filed a complaint with the delivery service, HD, the USDOT, and called the Lumpkin Co Sheriff's Dept, who sent out a deputy to make an incident report. All of this drama over a refrigerator. I am a far too frequent Home Depot customer and a big fan. I shop at about 5 different Home Depots and they all have different strengths and weaknesses but by far, my favorite Home Depot is the Dahlonega store. The folks that with there are generally older, more knowledgeable and much more customer friendly. Life hack: load the Home Depot app on your phone. Search on the product you are looking for and ironically you won't have to "search" in the store. The app will tell you exactly which aisle, which bin and how many they have. Saves a lot of time although if you are in the Dahlonega store some will normally see you looking and go out of their way to help. read more

We've learned the hard way to never have any order shipped to home. The website will say delivered even when it wasn't. This has happened to us twice in 6 months. In chat, they tell you everything is fine on their end and imply you're lying or a neighbor stole it. If that happens to you, you'll need to contact headquarters in Atlanta. They did make it right for us one time, but only after a lot of hassle. read more

Today was the second time that I've walked out of this place in anger. I was picking up a small number of flagstones, which are in the garden center. No cashier there, and so I went to the nearest register back in the store, pushing the heavy-duty metal cart. This was the "return" register, and they were working a return for a customer, so I was moving over to the "Customer Service" register next to it. Nope. After serving one customer, the cashier walked away to work on another issue behind the counter. The nearest regular register open was all the way across the store at the contractor checkout, so I left the stones and departed. My previous friction was with the help in the lumber section. Two floor personnel were in the middle of a conversation and refused to be interrupted by me standing there to ask a question. When they finally wrapped it up and got around to asking if I needed help, I told them in no uncertain terms that they should continue the socializing, and just what they could do with their lumber. Let me preface this with I do not hate men. This is not a male-bashing post. But I hate this store. I can't get timely or willing service in this store to save my life. I stood in the main aisle for 45 minutes today trying to get help. Every male who walked down the thoroughfare had an employee helping him. I wouldn't mention the gender issue, except for two things: as I was standing at the end of the aisle, I saw another woman in the aisle across the way try to flag down three employees. Three. They all passed her by. When I finally did get some help, it was because I more or less threw myself in front of an employee and cried, "please help me!" Well, he sort of did. Remember, I've been standing there for 45 minutes. He takes one look at the part I need and tells me - and I'm quoting here - "your best bet is to go to County Electric and Plumbing. It's past the outlets mall. And you better hurry because it closes at noon today." He hands me back the part, looks past me and says, "Can I help you sir?" He leaves me standing there. It's 11:30. County Electric and Plumbing is 30 minutes away on a good traffic day, and it's raining. So, I'm screwed. I ran out of the store before I could start crying. I've never been so frustrated. The woman on the other aisle still hadn't gotten any help when I left. I hate this store. It happens every time. In order to get any assistance, I have to throw myself face first in the aisle in front of an employee, a la Gonzo in the Muppets Take Manhattan. Ugh. read more

How can one location employ so many idiots. Together the entire store has the mentality of of person. To make matters worse they don't even try to be helpful. The management is non existent. When you ask a question the answer is always the same. I don't know. read more

Becky Jo was amazing. She helped us from the time we entered the store until the time we left. She personally escorted us to the service desk for help. She was personable. She cared. She knew her stuff. She was hilarious. Nothing but pure badassery. Nice to have an employee who has permission to be a human being. So refreshing. I will definitely shop here again read more
