Given the area, this is actually one of the better Home Depot locations I've been to. I almost always find what I need, and most trips are quick -- I'm usually in and out in under 10 minutes, which is not something you can say about every Home Depot. The selection here is solid and well maintained, making it easy to grab both everyday supplies and project-specific items without hunting through multiple aisles. Shelves are generally stocked, and the layout makes sense for fast, efficient shopping. Service is another strong point. When I do need help, employees are approachable and willing to assist, whether it's locating an item or answering a quick question. It feels functional and efficient rather than chaotic. From a value standpoint, pricing is consistent with what you expect from Home Depot, and the combination of fair prices, dependable inventory, and time saved makes this location a reliable option. This location is good. It's been here for a number of years. The service has remained the same in my opinion; adequate, but not exceptional. A lot of the employees seem to say just enough to get you out of their faces. The information doesn't flow; one person says one thing and another person says something different. The parking lot is huge and typically has trash on the ground; despite there being trash cans throughout the lot. The inventory/selection is extensive here. I've never come and had something be out of stock. I like their prices and the variety of products. Today I had the pleasure of interacting with Brian in the paint section of your store. Not only was he extremely polite and exhibited the best manners, he responded to my "Excuse me sorry to bother you" with "It's no problem Queen". I'm wasn't expecting that but it was much appreciated titled from him. He was so helpful and answered all my questions. As a woman in a home improvement store it can be quite intimidating because I'm not handy AT ALL. If y'all have employee of the week, month, year whatever he deserves it. I miss the old Sears where you order an appliance and they show up and install as promised. Not so with Home Depot. I ordered a double wall oven and after a delayed shipment, they "dropped it off". Customer Service said there is no installation for this unit. I know I selected installation and paid $100 and an additional fee for them to haul it away. None of that was on the order. They removed the installation line and haul away was changed to "move to another room". Now I'm stuck trying to find an electrician to get it done. read more

A favorite HD store! Customer service: I frequent this store a lot! Always a delightful visit and the staff is very helpful. On my most recent visit, I encountered Mr. William in electrical. He came to work with a smile on his face and was ready to provide some knowledge! I loved it! I thought that HD sold dog products for some reason, but he let me down easy (and playfully) and told me to just go to Walmart. Lol. Store: I don't always find what I need on the shelf, but a staff member will either ask to provide assistance or I'll find one and they do. The first step is to always look at the very top of the bay for a box with the 6-digit sku to see if they have it available at all or look online. Saves a ton of time!! Also, if you need work done on your home, there's usually some kind of contractor shopping just like you. I met two on my visit. Love killing two birds with one stone (Wish I could find a different quote because that sounds gruesome!) HD would make a killing if they sold pet products. Just an idea! Would I recommend? Yep! I moved to the Decatur area back in October and was stoked to find out that The Home Depot was less than a mile away from my house! Since my boyfriend and I have a lot of home projects on our to-do list, we visit quite often. Every time I visit, I've received quality customer service. The staff is very helpful and friendly - they're always willing to put your needs first and assist with any questions you may have. Since it's spring, I visited today (03/01) to buy some plants, fertilizer, and potting soil. The cashier was so joyous and chatted with me about the lovely weather we had today. I wish I knew her name so I could give her some recognition! All in all, this location is great and I will continue to shop there for all my home projects. read more

I truly recommend and I mean truly avoid this store with a passion. It's ALRIGHT if you have to go here let's say once every 5 months of blue moon,but to be a regular it's way too much.. First off the attitudes are TERRIBLE, they don't reprimand the employees,they come off annoyed and condescending to the customers, they snap at customers and overalls get away with behavior that wouldn't be accepted at any other department or chain store. I have seen employees get into verbal back and forth with customers... unacceptable. The layout of the store is outdated to an extent. There is no contractor parking, it's always like a game of pac man trying to get in an out..they NEVER have enough carts or any around you have to either search for one around the store or you have to wait for someone to get finished loading there material to get the one they where using.. My main thing is I can't spend money at a place I feel I'm constantly being disrespected at or I have to coddle and stroke the employees ego to get customer service. Too many bad instances here, one the employee walked off as I walked to the register went to the one on the other side and the cashier is just talking and talking, I had to stop her and say "can we check out"...another was when I was at self check out and the employee came and took the scanner out my hand, like is this not self check out? Another was when Im in line waiting to check out and another female employee comes and just pushes my cart out the way as I'm leaning on it...didn't say excuse me or anything, then another was when I asked another lady to back out the transaction so I could put my pro number in, she got an attitude and started bad talking me to another employee. I give this store a FIVE, because of Miguel, who is over the tool department. Prior to meeting Miguel I had spoken to two other store representatives that did not listen to me and did not help me. The lady at the door looking after sanitation for the carts gave me attention and gave me help. Miguel found in one minute what had been lost in inventory and it was not even his departure (Ryobi, garden equipment). One of the worker that did not help asked me to wait as he talked to another, I thought, customer. I later realized that this was the same person that he was talking to 15-minutes earlier. Miguel found six of the Ryobi low water pressure washer that I wanted. Thank you Miguel! You need to send half of your staff to midtown to be evaluated. I am sure that they will be let go. read more

After I purchased my home Home Depot was my favorite place to shop. It experience nostalgia every time walk down the aisle. Its like being a kid in a candy store, you want everything. The staff is knowledgeable but hard to find. The place is always busy so its hard to find someone to help. For that reason I recommend going to the website to search for the item your looking for and it will tell the aisle and bay of which you can locate your item. My odium with the company practice stems from the fact that they are replacing humans with machines. All the registers are now self checkout. read more

The Home Depot on Snapfinger Rd has got to be one of the tackiest Home Depot's in Atlanta. And it's sad because it has potential. Here are just two reasons why. The customer service is horrible, and they never have what you need when you need it. First, the customer service is horrible. My friend and I went to HD to just get a couple things to work on my yard. We bought a new chainsaw chain and two bales of Wheat Straw for the lawn. Simple right? WRONG!!! It became an ordeal. An unnecessary horror that never should have played itself out this way. Let's start with the pint sized cashier with the lime green nails and horrible attitude. She acted as if we were encroaching on her sister circle time with her two girlfriends up front when we told her we needed two bales of hay. She says: "Do we even have any?" To which my friend replied: "there is a whole trailer full in the parking lot! We already looked!" She rolls her eyes, walks over to the computer and started punching in codes and numbers like this poor computer had really offended her. It was embarrassing. Then she turned and glared at me as if to say: "you better not ask me for anything else." Mind you, there was nobody in line, and I didn't think our request was unreasonable so I don't understand where all this attitude was coming from. Okay, So I paid for the items then proceeded to get wheat straw! I went to the customer service counter to let someone know I needed someone to pull the bales of hay. The young lady behind the counter told Cletus with the orange and white shirt that we needed help. Who by the way was more interested in talking to some lady at the counter. Again with the attitude! I tell Cletus I need some paper to put in my car, he points toward a locked fence where behind said fence is a roll of brown butcher paper and he said: "It's over there, you can take what you need!" WHAT??? REALLY?? Who does that? He pulls the hay, sits it on the ground and walks away! No communication with me the customer, nothing. I guess he wanted to get back to his post at the customer service counter. On several occasions I've gone to this HD and asked for different products and gotten the answer: "Oh we don't have it We are out of it, if it's not out here we don't have it" etc. There is always an excuse. Never an apology, never anyone taking ownership to solve the problem. I don't know the screening process or the training process, but this HD could definitely use an overhaul seriously. I hope this scathing review will facilitate change in this HD. Because it is viable and needed in this community. I swear going to this particular HD is like stepping into an alternate universe. You can stand around this Home Depot for days and never be asked if you need help. But I guarandamntee you, you will find several people standing around making idle chit chat. And what's sadder, I can go to the HD in Buckhead, midtown or up at Perimeter and it's a very different experience. Even the HD on Lawrenceville Hwy is better- not much But better. I have vowed I will never go back to the Home Depot on Snapfinger. I will pay a little more or go across town to get the things I need for my house. I've had it. (Note: This review is based on a workshop I attended. This is not my neighborhood Home Depot.) I attended a Do-It-Yourself workshop on molding at this Home Depot. The instructor was informative and friendly and answered questions when he could while being honest when he couldn't. He also attempted to get someone with more knowledge on varied tools to help out, but this class was held on a weekend when the store was busy. In the class, our instructor told us about the various types of molding, the materials available and the most common usage. He also showed us tools that we could use to get the proper cut for the molding while also emphasizing how caulk would likely need to be used as a finishing touch. While I didn't leave the class with detailed knowledge, I definitely left with some great basics and a YouTube video will now make a lot more sense. You can easily register for the classes on the Home Depot website, and I plan on taking more classes at this Home Depot and would recommend the classes to a beginner, but to an experienced DIY-er, I would say pass. I visit this stores everyday in the last 2 weeks. I encounter several people who didn't want to help. They all seem to be headed to break or let me know it's not their department. I wanted for 20 mins yesterday for someone to help me find backer board. I went to tools section for assistance on a rigid tool. But unfortunately after pointing the tool out I was inform it was the guy break time. Now I have a $139 product with no battery. I went to the paint dept and was referred to flooring dept for wall primer for tile. The 2 guys in the flooring department never heard of this. I even had a customer jump in to assist. This store is a staple in the community and needs to do better with overall customer service. You choose to work here. So even if it's not your dept then simply walk me to someone that can help. As an essential employee myself, I could never tell a patient it's my break time to find someone else. I work in a hospital and the day I do that to someone would be the day I find myself with lots of free time and unemployed. I did finally get a manager last night to voice my concerns. I had 2 store employee make sure I was completely satisfied when I walked out last night. Emmanuel and Daijza went above and beyond to say I got you girl. Their customer service skills didn't go unnoticed. This is by far the worst Home Depot ever mainly due to the lack of care and customer service - I've waited for assistance and no one showed up a few times - I placed an order using curbside and sat outside for almost 30 minutes before I decided to go to customer service. The gentleman there his reaction was basically "oh yeah - we do do curbside" and my order needed to be pulled and then they finally brought it out. I don't hold Home Depot high on my list of places to expect a good customer service experience, but it honestly seems like this particular store doesn't even want your money. According to other reviews here, it seems like this place took a major dive a few years ago. There's frequently no check out lanes open, only self-check out. All 4 stations are held up while the employee in the middle is either absent or trying to figure out the computer. I have literally scanned items, got a "wait for employee" message, and walked over to the employee's computer and approved my purchase on multiple occurrences. Another time I was looking for a particular type of drill bit and stood in a circle of SIX employees while they talked about a basketball game and avoided eye contact with me. This went on for 5 minutes until my amusement of the ignorance of the situation started wearing off and I interrupted them. The response? "You need to go to a hardware store for that." Well, huh. The thing is, there used to be about 10 hardware stores in the area before Home Depot opened up. Isn't it ironic that I had to drive 30 minutes to Lowes to buy a $4 drill bit? I promise you, it will literally take you far less time to drive to a different store than deal with this one, even if it's for a simple purchase. If you're a shoplifter, this place is a dream come true. So there's that. read more

Unfortunately, this is now my local store. It's the most disorganized store in the chain. Most of the employees don't seem to care much at this location. I grit my teeth every time I come here, usually avoiding it, but it's now 10+ mins closer than other locations. Paint line is 4-5 deep with one associate. Product adjacencies are a mess. Provides no customer service and is flat out rude. Anytime you request the Manager on duty they are never available. Submitted complaint to Corporate. This store needs mystery shoppers ASAP!! I arrived today to purchase a lawn mower for my home. Spent 30 minutes in the lawn mower section, found the one I wanted, snapped a picture of the bar code and proceeded to Customer Service desk. Bernadette ignored me waiting in line. Another female associate finished assisting a customer then proceeds to attempt to help. I asked her for Bernadettes name so I could file a complaint with Corporate and she says she didn't know. Ma'am this lady works 2 feet away from you, probably helped train you, and you want to pretend you don't know who she is?? Okay ask for assistance getting the lawn mower and the young girl calls for an associate. Waited 10 more minutes and no one shows up. I asked the young lady if I could pay for the item since I had the bar code as I waited for an associate to get it off the rack. She inquired with Bernandette who continues to ignore me and tells the other associate I can check out at self check out once they get the item down. How do you have someone working Customer Service who offers absolutely no customer service? I then proceed to ask for the manager on duty. A female associate, I assume to be the manager, comes up from the back and approaches the Home Depot associate who called her. The associate explains my issue. The female manager advised the associate to tell me all managers were busy. I just shook my head and walked out. I came back to this particular Home Depot again (closest one to me) to purchase 3 boxes of "Bronze Solar LED Cage Pathway Light Set (6-Pack)" for my backyard and a T27 Torx Bit. I was a bit disappointed in looking all over the store to find a simple T27 torx bit to attach to my Ryobi Power Drill. However, out of all the brand names they had in stock, they did not have any single bits available except for a "Husky" one that contained the T27 torx bit welded into a 3/8" socket wrench attachment. The problem now was that I did not have a 3/8" socket wrench, so I ended up paying $12.99 + tax for a socket wrench I didn't originally plan to purchase. Anyway, I went on to locate the solar LED lights...I searched through the lighting department and saw every other brand name and model "except" the one I was looking for. So I asked a young man who worked there for assistance; he mentioned that it was his first day on the job, so he directed me to another staff member...another young man. So he walks me over to the LED lighting area and cannot find the product I was looking for...even after showing him the exact specifications on my phone. He sincerely tried it o assist me, but we were walking all over the store until he consulted with another staff member who knew exactly where they were located. Turns out they were displayed near the check-out aisles; somewhere I would not have looked as they seemed a bit out of place...they should have stocked them up with the other LED lights in the "lighting" section. Makes sense right...? At least I think it does! :-) Anyway, this location still has a lot of improvements to make, but I will give them an upgrade from 2 stars (from my previous review) to 3 stars this time around due to the young man's "effort" in trying to assist me. read more

This store I'm sure is popular with masochists and people who like wasting their time. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them, and neither are my handymen that are in my employ. I should NOT have to leave my office in Tucker to drive all the way down to this store just to figure out what the hour long hold-up is with my handyman picking up some stain for a customer when the entire process was pre-arranged! Literally two minutes after I show up, clearly annoyed, lo and behold they "magically" find the stain...that was sitting right beside the person behind the Pro counter! I dislike very much giving bad reviews but you better believe this Home Depot deserves it. Either find another HD store, or try an Ace or Lowe's. I went into the store feeling confident that my absolute lack of knowledge would not be a hinderance in my pursuit for lawn equipment, as I've been told the staff at my local Home Depot is more than willing to ensure that I receive all the assistance I need to find the best equipment for any home improvement job. However, this proved not to be the case. My requests for any type assistance went unanswered. Of the four staff members I asked for assistance, none were willing to offer more than the assurance that they would find someone else from the lawn equipment department. One of said staff members simply told me that they were short staffed. Finally, a fellow customer answered as many of my questions as possible, loaded the equipment onto my cart, and finally loaded the equipment into my car. The only assistance I received from HD staff was at checkout when she took my payment. This adventure ended with me returning my purchase for several reasons that all could have been avoided with a little help from staff read more

Crooks!!!! Rented a concrete cutting saw from them yesterday. You have to rent the machine for $40 AND rent (not buy) the blade for $49. They only carried the expensive blades in the store and not the $40 cheaper blade that they had on the website so I went ahead and rented the blade which they said was "new". They mentioned a damage protection option for $13.50 which I said I didn't want. Got it home and the blade was really worn out. Took twice the time to cut through the concrete than what it would normally take. Finished my work and took it back. When they handing me the receipt, it had the $13.50 damage protection on it that I didn't want. The guy at the register said that I would have to track down a manager and maybe get a credit. If you have ever been to Home Depot and tried to track down a manager, I hope you have the rest of the day free because you will be there a while. Not a pleasant experience, so pretty typical for a Home Depot experience. read more
