If you use a gift cert and return an item, they insist on giving you another gift cert BUT you must provide your driver's license so they can tie yet ANOTHER gift cart when you walked into the store with a gift card!! Why can they NOT put your refund back on your OWN gift cert? All the staff says is they can't do it that way. WHY??? I also want to know what is Home Depot doing with customer's personal data and driver's licenses numbers, addresses, etc. How long is Home Depot keeping my data and how are they keeping it safe?? I had a 18 month same as cash coupon sent to my house that I initially thought I was not going to use however have decided to buy new appliances. Called the number on my credit card to get the 18 months same as cash offer emailed to me because I had thrown it away And was told that it's not going to be offered to me. I have had my Home Depot credit card in good standing for 19 years and even have a credit card of over $200. Jessica (customer service rep) said that she was not going to be able to give me the 18 months same as cash. When I told her that the $3500 I was spending on appliances well now have to be spent at Lowe's... She was fine with that.. imagine... just.... Piss off lady! Rent equipment from just about anybody else rather than Home Depot (Beavercreek OH)! Pulled a chainsaw off the shelf that I nor they could get started, tried another, then another until one started (I should have ran then). After work went home to do my job, and by this time it was late, and could not get it started. Had to do the work by hand but kept trying to start for next 5 hours without success. HD charged me for the rental, yes it's in the policy- So they are renting old and poorly maintained equipment knowingly! Rental manager said it was flooded - like hell ? This is a 24 hr rental and she couldn't start it either when I returned it - she still said it was flooded - Do yourself a favor and just go somewhere, anywhere else, these people don't know what they are doing. Home Depot delivery service for appliances is horrible, first they said that I wasn't home when I was, no knock, no door bell, no call on the same cell number saying on their way, nothing. Either they are liars and never even tried to deliver of expected me to sit in the front lawn waiting for them. Now they were supposed to deliver today and but instead we get a email saying it won't be delivered for another week. I called "customer service" like they care about customers ha! As all the Home Depot and Lowe's stores here are a bit smaller, I don't always find what I want, but they still try to stock interesting items. I can usually find a light or ceiling fan I want. My mum found some tile here, also. Probably the best thing is that they give those with military i.d. a discount, unlike some other Home Depot stores in the area. Home Depot isn't the most expensive but that discount helps. Staff has been friendly during returns, which says a lot. They're also friendly during sales and they don't sigh when you show them the military i.d. for a discount. read more

This is gonna make me sound like an unreasonable jerk. I purchased a Weber Grill online from the Fairborn, OH Home Depot on May 25th. It's been almost a MONTH and it still hasn't been delivered. I called Home Depot and asked it they could help me find out where the grill was exactly, and she told me it was on the way to my house. Which wasn't true, since 1) I haven't received it yet and 2) the email and tracking information says it's in transit it the UPS facility in Luckey, OH. Which isn't anywhere close to my house. The arrival dates started at June 4th, then June 5th-9th, then June 5th-10, then June 10, then June 11th. I asked to cancel the order and was told it could be canceled until it was delivered. Which makes no sense at all. However, they took the payment for the grill out of my account on June 8th, and I still don't have a firm date of when it will arrive. I was at this store on 4/7/2020 at approx 5:20 PM. As I was checking out in the self check out, several employees were gathered and loudly complaining about customers in the store. They continued to say things like "these people don't realize there's a deadly virus", "do we have to open Easter if Lowe's doesn't?" "Why are people standing in line to come in?" Well those people make it so you can have a job. You are fortunate you are part of a company that is considered essential and you are still getting paid. There are millions out there that would probably love to be in your shoes right now so they could pay their bills and feed their families. Two stars because manager Steve was a good guy who was reasonable and willing to work with me. Zero stars for manager Carol and tall rental manager who were both jerks. I rented a nail gun that did not operate properly and was not able to finish the work I had rented it for due to malfunction I brought the tool back within the appropriate time frame. I called the Nextiva and Steve said it would be no problem to rent the tool gun at no cost. All I had to do was tell them "Steve said it was OK". I picked it up no problem. Upon return the tour manager and Carol both said they knew nothing about it and would not process it. When I called to talk to Carol directly because the tour manager was rude in person... We had a telephone exchange where she raised her voice to me first and I responded in kind, and then she hung up on me rudely. I ordered a door with a transom back in July, and due to Covid it took 3 months to get it ordered and delivered. Tracy kept me updated every step of the way. The door ended up being shipped and delivered with no transom and Tracy made sure they got it back and found a way to expedite the service without having to completely re-order the door and make me wait another three months. If you answer yes and then get distracted and don't see the cash down by your knees, it doesn't remind you to pick up your cash. My husband and I just recently purchased our first home and we wanted to install some laminate flooring. We went to Home Depot and we received wonderful customer service from Tracy in the flooring section! She helped us schedule a measurement and talked us through the whole process. Today we went back and she was working, she remembered us from the week before and pulled up our quote and walked through each thing they were going to charge us for. She was so friendly and we didn't feel pressured to purchase anything. I didn't know of another way to thank her and show her how much we appreciated her help, so I'm writing this review! Made a good sized order on Wednesday 25 July they told me to pick it up Friday at 5pm and when I arrived they had not pulled my order and didn't even have the quantity in stock. I didn't get a call or notification that this was the case and when I talked to the manager on duty he didn't even seem to care that I had a problem. I do not think the diy customer really matters here when they aren't spending thousands of dollars at once. My $500+ order was just too small for them to even try to take care of. read more

They also thought they may have one or two in stock (they did, but were much larger than the one I needed). Went home to order. Couldn't use my store credit from this store (said it had to be used in store only). Called the store, customer service said they would check, but thought I would have to come in to pay for it with the store credit because it was linked to my driver's license (she came back on the line and confirmed yes, I needed to come into the store). This is your standard Home Depot. It is pretty well organized and for the most part staff is pretty knowledgeable. Customer service is pretty good andi am usually able to locate what I need. I was at Home Depot tonight September 13, 2017 I bought $280 worth of paint, so I can repaint my house. Also I needed one small plumbing part for my sink and I was having a tough time finding it. There was no one around, help was just nonexistent. Finally after walking halfway through the store I found somebody and they got someone for that department, what a pain. I got my plumbing part and I picked up the paint, the girl mixing the paint seem to do okay, I haven't looked at the paint yet. When it came time to check out I had to use the self-service checkout and I don't like to use the self-service checkout. When I pulled out my military ID so I can get a discount on the paint the man running the cash register, obviously a man who had made poor life decisions or he wouldn't be running a cash register at Home Depot, stated that I did not have the correct ID and that he would not give me the discount on the paint. I never have any problems at any other Home Depot that I've ever shopped at using my VA card. When I shop at Lowe's, any Lowe's there is never no issue with the military discount. I'll still come to Home Depot and by a role of Teflon tape or maybe a pack of screws, but I guarantee any time I want to spend any amount of "real money" I will do it at Lowe's or Mernards. So to the powers that be at Home Depot a cashier that was full of himself and the refusal of a $28 discount as cost you a good customer. read more

I hired Home Depot in Fairborn, OH to install Pergo wood laminate in our home. HD hires subcontractors for their installation. The installers immediately determined that the Pergo was defective; the boards didn't lock together tightly causing a gap which would allow moisture to penetrate. HD took a few hours to make a decision which was to reorder flooring. They left all the defective product in our home. It took two months for the replacement flooring and re-installation date to arrive. HD flooring department is essentially the general contractor, and I feel that they were lackadaisical in managing the project. HD botched the delivery date of the replacement flooring which would have caused me to miss our second installation date (Pergo has to acclimate in the home for 72 hours). IMO the flooring department doesn't seem to manage their client projects on a daily basis. I had to call and inform them when they missed their deadlines. Two weeks before the new installation date, HD told me that Pergo needed to inspect the defective flooring so that HD could receive a claim reimbursement. It took HD SIX WEEKS to file their claim with Pergo. I told HD that if my project wasn't installed as scheduled due to their Pergo claim, I expected a full refund. I paid in full for the flooring project and IMO three months is more than enough time to install it, especially when the product arrives within 10 days from the manufacturer. Ultimately the flooring was installed. But, when I attempted to return the excess, unused flooring products, I was denied a refund because HD said they wouldn't refund my money until they received they were reimbursed by Pergo for their claim. I emphatically do not recommend that you hire Home Depot's "pro" installation services. Find an installer yourself as HD can't seem to manage their projects. read more
