The Grafton Home Depot is a great store with helpful staff, great stock, and amazing community events. Today, they are cosponsors with my veteran group for a family holiday event -- Menorah building! There were children and families everywhere and fun was had by all! The Rabbi was running around giving out blessings, the Commander was passing out cookies, the veterans were snapping pictures, the Home Depot crew was handing out kits, the kids and families were banging hammers and laughing, and my poor service dog was trying to make sure I didn't pass out! It was a very successful event. Lots of kids. Lots of family. Lots of hammering and sharing. Good family fun. Thanks to community partners and old fashioned holiday spirit! For those who don't know the story of Hanukkah it is a story of miracles. In the true spirit of the story, miracles occurred today. Every time we thought we ran out of kits, a small stash would appear. And until the very end, every child was hammering and happily creating a Menorah. Children were able to even take the kits that were being tossed aside by children who wanted perfection (so they'd start over or abandon a less than perfect attempt). In the end, every child walked out smiling with a creation that they were happy to have. It was a sight to see! Nobody felt as if they didn't get what they came to get. Everyone was cooperating and taking what was available and creating a holiday miracle. I felt very happy to be a part of this day. read more

I went through this Home Depot location when I needed a new dishwasher. I purchased the GE product from David Robinson, and we decided to go with the installation service as well. The installers showed up on the day of installation and came to look at the connections. One installer claimed he couldn't do the installation due to a connection issue that he couldn't elaborate on. They also didn't have our product on the truck so an installation wouldn't have been possible anyways. The next time they came out it was a different person. We brought up how the previous person said there was an issue, but he couldn't explain to us for some reason. This new person said he made it work and that we shouldn't have any issues. Well, our product has always produced really wet dishes when the cycle is completed, so we used the extra dry boost. Fast forward to several weeks ago and our product no longer drains. I decided to get under the sink and really check things out after watching hours of dishwasher and general plumbing troubleshooting videos. What I found was that the Home Depot installer took a small diameter copper tube and fed it down into the drain line. They then bent the copper tube to feed into a standpipe. The copper tube they inserted into the drain line is inserted several inches into the drain tube and its physically impossible for most water to actually drain from the tube. I decided to call GE to have them look at the photos and the installation. They told me that the product was not installed according to their guidelines, and this was not a product issue. I then called my local city plumbing inspector who informed me that a permit is needed for a dishwasher installation, and one was never pulled. He was also appalled by the installation and asked that I keep him informed of the issue. I called the Home Depot line and asked them if their expectation of their installers is that they follow the manufacturer's install guide and that they meet all local codes. They confirmed that was indeed the expectation of their installers. I asked them very nicely to come and correct the installation and get the product to code as I originally paid for. I was told that since it was more than 48 hours past the install date that they were no longer liable for the issue. I reminded them that their policy does not overrule codes and standards and that they needed to fix this. The woman was kind but told me I needed to call the Grafton Store Manager. I called the Grafton store and asked for a manager and was sent to Michelle. I let Michelle know of my issue and that I just wanted the product fixed, and the install corrected. I never asked for a refund or replacement product. Michelle told me they weren't liable for the product due to the elapsed time. She told me the installers told her they would not come back out. I let her know of the issues and that I had two separate entities confirming a bad installation was the cause of my problems. Michelle was indifferent and made no effort to seem the least bit interested in the issue and gave me the number to their local distribution center for help. I called back the next day after the DC said the same thing. This time I got a gentleman who really seemed to care and agreed that it was a messed-up situation where his hands were tied due to Michelle. I was the Store Manager would call me towards the end of the week to discuss the issue. It's worth mentioning I have been very calm and kind to everyone thus far. I called back at the beginning of the following week after I decided to pay to have GE come and fix the product. Well, the GE tech through Bodewell, first name starts with a J (I am not giving his name out of respect) opened the area under the sink and I watched his shoulders sink. He turned around and looking apologetic and very sad as he came out under urgency to us not have a dishwasher for weeks at this point. He said it was one of the worst installations he had seen and that there was no way he was going to touch this and become liable. He informed me the product likely had severe damage due to the product never actually draining and the strain on the parts was severe. He said he couldn't fix it as if he did fix it, it would take a new install, and he wasn't licensed to install dishwashers and couldn't pull permits that would be needed for the work. He said it was reckless work and asked who did the install. I told J that it was Home Depot, and he shook his head before saying he wasn't surprised. He left and I still didn't have a dishwasher repaired. So, I called Home Depot again. This time I got Vicki. Vicki might be the greatest person over there. She informed me that a request for a Store Manager to call me the previous week was submitted but couldn't explain why no one did. I informed her that now GE wasn't even willing to touch the product due to the installation and that this was on them. Vicki listened, apologized, and at least made me feel heard. read more

Tried to return flooring, which THD online says is ok. Nothing in return policy says that you can't. Assistant manager John was unable to figure out how to return the product and did little in his way to come up with a solution. He just pushed us off and said we can't return it. Both my wife and I took a day off for a delivery, which they called off 20 minutes before they were due here. They refuse to accomodate our schedules now, forcing us to take more time off. It also leaves us without an oven for the weekend. Their dispatcher/scheduler clearly does not care. We will not use this company again. read more

I had a small hole in my LVP flooring ( not from this store) that was caused by my moving a ladder...I went to flooring center. Asked their flooring specialist what I could do, as I didn't want to avoid replacing a section of the floor. He walked me over to show me the repair tube they had & the various colors. He explained how to do the repair and wished me luck. I called the store back & asked for Ronald Peterson, the man who helped me, and told him I did as he advised,. This Home Depot has a terrible installation service . They call their installation service Crew two This outfit isn't interested in communicating with customers seeking an installation service. I bought a toilet from the Grafton store. Near the end of the job the plumber told me that a new flange was needed. He then proceeded to charge an additional $300 for for five minutes of labor. When I complained about the ridiculous charge to the store manager, he assured me that he would get back to me within a few business days. Horrible experience with carpet install. Carpet was installed with over 4 inch skew. Immediately called after install. Original installer cut pattern from prior carpet instead of measuring for accurate install. They sent over another crew after continuous calls since we have not heard back. Second crew was measuring with tape measure slanted and seemed just as incompetent as initial installer. Very unprofessional and incompetent installer and no help from the carpet sales/ manager at Home Depot. My wife contacted the store and basically told there is nothing they can do and was quite rude. I would highly recommend staying away from having Home Depot install your carpet with any kind of pattern. I personally could have done a better install then the people they use to install. From this experience and how it is being handled I will never use or recommend Home Depot for any service or products. read more

I just want to compliment the young man working in the paint department yesterday morning (Oct. 6). He was very helpful to me, and didn't laugh when I presented him with a lump of paint taken off my house to match. He was really busy, and working really hard, and, no offense, but you don't always see that at Home Depot. The service at this Home Depot is stellar. Every time I visit, in the midst of my wanderings through the store, multiple friendly employees ask if I'm finding everything I need, ask if they can help, or at least smile and say hello. When I've actually needed help, they'll stop and help me find what I need or solve my problem. Lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks work here. The outdoor garden area has improved in selection and in care of their plants, so I've managed to find some good landscape plants here. The vegetable garden section is good as well, though sometimes lacking in variety. Plenty of help loading heavy stuff outdoors, you might have to wait for someone, but they'll do it. One thing I love about this store is that it's well organized, which makes it easier to find things I need. I've visited a few other HDs lately & they made this one look even better. They may have less inventory than some other stores, but at least it's clean & well-displayed. Only grandpa really knows what's in his garage & where to find it, right? Really bad. I tried to buy their best zero turn mower and they knew literally not one thing about it. 3 associates. Then I wanted the 3 year warranty but they had no idea what it did for me. Out of brochures for it. I was dumbfounded and had to leave, go to equipment garage in cedarburg, at least they know what's going on. This location is newer and has a great parking lot right next to Target in Grafton. I work in the area so swing by here every now and then. The store is clean and the selection is always great. The staff (for better or worse) never approach you here. The other day I was wandering around the power tool section for the better of 20 to 30 minutes trying out different gadgets and had to interrupt several workers to ask them questions and then the one guy left. I had to get another guy who was talking with an associate the help me out for a few minutes. I felt like I was inconveniencing them when it came to asking questions or getting their suggestions on products. If you know what you're looking for and can grab it by yourself then stop by here otherwise go to another location if you would like some more direciton. read more

Taking time to leave a review for the Grafton Home Depot. There are some really outstanding and sweet people at this location. I've had so many experiences where the crew has gone above and beyond to help me. I appreciate their candid and honest replies too...even when they don't know the answer to my question...they don't let that stop them, they ask a more knowledgable coworker. I've specifically had numerous amazing experiences with Rick Henry in windows and doors. His knowledge is top notch and customer service is through the roof! Above that he's so friendly and a pleasure to work with. I wish I could recall some of the names of the other outstanding people but suffice it to say there are many. Really helpful employees in several departments! It is a shame so many people are giving bad reviews because of no masks. Home Depot is spacious enough to allow for proper distancing. It's nice to share smiles with human beings. Some employees wear masks & gloves that are more intimate with products like in the paint department. There is protective separators at all desks and checkouts. If anyone is that afraid of getting sick then they should know that ANY store with or without masks presents a possibility of spread (of whatever) through the products that other shoppers may touch. I would even suggest that those who feel so threatened by public scenarios should not be in brick & mortar stores and should probably order things from the online store. Same Day Installation doesn't mean what you think it means. Our hot water heater went out on a Saturday evening. I researched online and learned Home Depot offers a same day installation guarantee: If you order before noon M-F they will install it that day. I was so relieved to know I'd have hot water again by Monday evening! I placed my order Sunday afternoon and fell asleep dreaming of taking a hot shower the next day. By late morning I hadn't heard anything about a delivery/installation time, so I called them back. They checked and let me know my "same day installation" would be happening TEN DAYS FROM NOW! We went through Home Depot to do our flooring because of the carpet sale but whatever we saved in $ was not worth the absolute mess that we ended up with! From getting the product to scheduling installers (and actually getting them to do the work) was a study in lack of communication!! The product is fine, but the installation was terrible and we ended up waiting and rescheduling and then waiting some more!!!! I will not be using them for any services in the future!! read more

As a home owner, and just a guy... I should love this store. I do not. First, the registers are on the opposite end of the store as the entrance. Presumably an adult decided that was a good idea. ? So the solution is grab a cart by the exit, from the corral or by the door there is always one - and park there too, then walk in right under the exit sign. I'm not so lazy that I can't stand the walk, it's just a principal thing now. Next tip, if you ever use your debit card to pay for things and then need to return it - get store credit or insist on cash. Somehow, my refund of just over 20$ never made it to my bank. And of course their copy of the receipt is in Indiana now for some reason... Long story short, HD says banks fault, bank says never got it... 2 years later, still no 20$. I stopped calling cause they would just put me on hold and just let me sit there. Speaking of just sitting there - NEVER sign up for one of their classes. My wife and I signed up for one this last weekend. After they emailed me SIX times saying be prompt at 10:00 we arrived 5 minutes early. Good luck finding anyone that knows anything about this "workshop" that works there. Apparently "Dave" was supposed to work with us that day. We chatted with many people that were not Dave while waiting in the patio furniture area. Super fun... Super waste of an hour, because shocker, Dave never shows and people say he's over there- over here- doing this, doing that. Sigh. Thanks for wasting my Saturday morning Dave. Yes, I know it's a free class. A poke in the eye is free too - I didn't sign up for that. Lastly, if you ever need to order anything online and pickup in the store, prepare yourself for one pleasant experience. Especially if you like free pokes in the eye. I'm not Fabio or Prince Charming, but I think I'm easy to talk too and try to at least engage people with a hello or head nod. Not these service desk people. Yikes! I'd pay an extra dollar for a class that actually comes together before we leave after an hour of waiting... as well as I'd pay an extra nickel for a smile from the service desk people. Cmon. But if you need to interact with most of these people, you will leave frustrated and just generally disappointed. The wood guys are usually nice and the lady in lighting that knows A LOT about lights and is genuinely nice to talk with - I'm ashamed I forgot her name - she's there a lot and is a huge asset to that company. She was/is an electrician and it shows. If it wasn't right down the road from where I work, I'd probably never go there. Menards is generally cheaper, people are happy there, and their products are often of equal quality. Lowes has way better financing options and hardware. The last two things are mainly facts, the rest is all my opinion. But just think about this, I'm upset enough to find ways to complain about a hardware store. I am a man. I should love tools and tile, and lightbulbs. This place has found a way to ruin those things for me. Location and the "lighting lady" are the only two reasons to ever set foot in this store. This is by far the most useless and incompetent Home Depot. I recently bought about $2500 of Kohler fixtures for a bathroom remodel. The store contacted me that the items arrived and asked that I call 1 hr before pick-up so the items would be ready. Upon arrival, I had to wait another 40 minutes for the items to be retrieved from storage. The worst part is that the boxes were nearly destroyed and were already opened by shipping & receiving. My guess is that one of the guys on the dock opened the boxes to check for damage but apparently missed the cracked porcelain on the toilet which has now set the contractor's schedule back. I will never step foot in Home Depot again. They don't deserve my business. I've had other issues with this store involving delivery of damaged appliances that I won't go into. If you're buying anything that is considered special order, do yourself a favor and go to Lowe's or one of the other box stores. read more

We purchased a Dupont laminate floor in Dec 2013, professionally installed in Jan 2014. Now lifting and separating. We have been given the run around from DuPont and the Grafton Home Depot since September 2016. Phone calls promised, and not returned, claims are "being looked into", but no follow through. This floor has also been recalled by DuPont and discontinued because it lifts and separates- so why the nonexistent follow through. read more

On 7/6/2016 I went to the Grafton WI Home Depot to buy a washing machine after looking at all of the washing machines witch took about 15 minutes and still did not see any one to help me finally I had an employee walk pass me I asked if there was any one that could help me he told me she was helping someone with counter tops and walked away so I waited another 20 minutes in that time I looked up reviews on the washing machine I wanted to buy also during that time I saw other people looking at other appliances and they finally left because there was no one to help them finally I decided to call the store from my phone to see if I could get some help After about 10 minutes on hold and even hearing the department get paged with no help I had someone finally answer the phone that I could speak to I asked that all I wanted is to see if she could look to see if they had the washing machine I was looking at or how long it would take to get one (I was standing rite by the machine and had all of the numbers of the unit) She would not even look for me all I was told was to leave my phone number and they would get back to me I was so disgusted with the service that I just left and I bought one at another retailer From all the time I spent there they lost at least 4 sales from people leaving because they could not get any help This store is terrible read more
