Today I went to look for some lumber, and at first everything was fine as I shopped peacefully. When I reached the self-checkout, I saw an older white woman with blondish hair yelling at another employee with red hair. It was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness, and I hope the red-haired employee is okay. That's no way to treat a coworker! It made the whole environment feel awful. read more

Went to rent a brush hog with a trailer to transport it. Expected nonsense. Instead I encountered two nice employees. They were both most helpful and got me the Billy Goat that I needed. This HD is closer to my work and is not my usual HD for home projects. However, I believe that this HD has a better selection of items in the nursery and the people here are very helpful. It is right off the highway and would not be in an area you normally would think a HD should be, but it is always hopping with people. Really there is nothing negative to say about this place because they have their act together on selection, cleanliness and customer service. read more

This particular Home Depot is one of the worst managed HD's in our area. Phone calls get continually transferred to one department to another. Finally, no one will answer or get back with you for a concern. Do not expect to get a refund quickly even if all your documentation is in line with their procedures. Home Depots in other areas are much better managed and a pleasure to to. At this particular store it seems like no one is around to help purchase a product or answer a question. This store is definitely not the store to go to if service is important. read more

I moved to Greenville from Charleston a few months ago, and the S Pleasantburg Home Depot is now my "go to" for home improvement and gardening needs. Everyone I've interacted with is extremely helpful and pleasant. I've had employees ask me if I needed help vs trying to track down someone to help me. I ordered carpeting from this store (1339 S. Pleasantburg Dr.) in March 2024. The worst place to come and get your home improvements material. The man who came to measure the room was indifferent. He was discriminating and never answer any questions i asked. In short, his measurement was way over the width and length of our bedroom. Almost 1/3 was left over - way too much. I went to the store at S. Pleasantburg to make my complaint. There was only one answer "they do NOT make any credit or adjustments to your bill/statement right or wrong. I signed for a new HD card to avail of the $100 coupon/credit after spending over $2,600. I did not get my credit at the time of purchase and was that i can use the coupon on my next purchase......another SCAM............BEWARE of these people. HORRIBLE customer service in lawn and garden on 3/17/22. The two female cashiers working there that day were trash-talking about a previous customer when I walked up to the register, and lowered their voices but continued their conversation as I stood waiting. They were clearly feeling inconvenienced with my poor timing - you would have thought by the way they acted that I was the one being rude. Unfortunately, one of the items that I was purchasing - a small pot - did not have a price tag; which I didn't realize until I was checking out. One of the cashiers insisted that it was part of a set, and that it couldn't be sold separately. I assured her that it was not, and that the sign below the pot had read "$9.98." Then she told me that without a price tag, I couldn't buy it anyway - she said that she would ring up the rest of my items but I'd have to put the pot back. I said no thank you, I wanted to buy the pot because I had specifically chosen it for the plants that I was also buying. She then told me (clearly irritated) that I'd have to go try and find one with a price tag then. I asked if she would mind going (I was worried that none of the other pots would have price tags either, and at least if she went, she would see the $9.98 sign.) I pointed to the aisle that it was on, which was nearby, but she smugly informed me that she couldn't leave her register. I asked if maybe she could call someone else, and even though she did reluctantly appear to make a phone call, I waited 10mins and no one came. I finally asked if someone was coming and she nonchalantly replied that she wasn't sure because the person that she had called hadn't answered. There was a long line of customers waiting to check out, and she just stared back at me blankly - definitely didn't care in the least. This is probably the 3rd time in the past year that I have been really disappointed in the lack of customer service at this store. I asked an employee a couple of months ago to help me with getting a ladder and he told me that I could get one down myself - which I did - with difficulty because I am short and not-so-young anymore - and proceeded to drag it through the store to checkout and then to load it into my vehicle - I'm a grandmother and was obviously struggling. Couldn't believe that the employee I had spoken to would not help, and that none of the other employees whom I passed along the way, or the cashier who checked me out, had offered to help either. Just really disappointed with this store. This does seem to be an issue with a lot of businesses these days, and I have mostly accepted this as jut the way it is now - but this store in particular stands out as being one of the worst. read more

still seething after this trip to home depot today. word of advice, if you're offering a pick up service, maybe have employees with a sense of urgency running the customer service desk. i also work in customer service, so i understand someone can get bogged down with customers. this was not the case. there was a blatant lack of interest in serving customers and such a lack of focus. i had to wait at least 20 minutes before being acknowledged, and during my transaction, which was just me picking up items i purchased online, i had to continue waiting because the phone was being picked up and those customers were attended to before me. i understand phones ring, but maybe try to finish one transaction before starting another. read more

This place is ran terribly! Spring is the busiest time of year for a place like Home Depot because people are working in the yard, doing home projects, and spring cleaning. Why would you have ONE cashier in the garden center? Your largest plant inventory of the year but all people can do is wait in the line wrapped around the garden center to check out. The poor cashier had 0 help or backup. What's the best solution? Drag a cart full of plants to the regular checkout where two cashiers stand? The lady in returns stood there twiddling her thumbs and was rude. Worst customer service. A manager should have helped until the line was settled down. read more

Pretty pleased with this Home Depot location. Sometimes it can be a little hard to find someone when you need assistance, but once you do, the staff is friendly and willing to point you in the right direction or take you where you need to go. Random but worth noting that this location has a good succulent selection to choose from. read more

Horrible service. Wanted to purchase in lighting. No one to help and walked all around the store for assistance. They did away with the customer service button as too many persons pushing and not needing help. Never will shop there again and will use online!!! We expected to spend $800 there tonight. Very disappointed with this Home Depot. My family used Home Depot to avoid issues with independent contractors. However, Home Depot is slow to make corrections to mistakes made on a home improvement project my mother had done on her house. They keep saying they will get back in contact with us to correct the problems but never do. My mother has called several times and even had a rude worker speak to her. I even went into this store and spoke with a manager who said someone will get back with us. Two days have past and still no call. read more
