This Home Depot has honestly become my go-to in Columbus. While it's the same distance away from me as many others, it's usually less hectic and easy to get in and out of in a hurry. I mean, Home Depot isn't quite the store you browse around (at least I don't, ha!). When I visit I'm usually looking for something particular and I don't like to waste much time. I always hit up the garden department, mainly to see if they have any cool plants on sale or to grab soil or garden/plant related things. I also tend to swing by for a few things I need for art projects. They have paint products that I use regularly and I purchased a torch there not too long ago for another art project I was working on. As with most Home Depot locations, their staff is friendly and able to help you track down a product rather quickly. Lastly, their Yelp listing says they are checking temps which I believe is inaccurate unless they mean their staff. I didn't notice that nor did I notice the checkout lines being sanitized before/after each customer or sanitizer being available for customers. At the end of the day, I take my own precautions and this location will continue to be the one I visit... until the day there's one in the center of town and not just in the suburbs. We paid $99 for Threshold delivery. A third-party deliverer brought the delivery, but initially refused threshold service, since their paperwork didn't show it. I called Home Depot in front of them, and they changed their tune fast. Not sure if Home Depot is at fault or the delivery service, but my wife and I came away frustrated with this process. Home Depot passed the information off to the door manufacturer Jeld-Wen when sent me a email stating the door Home Depote installed was a Hollowcore interior only door the same door is used on the back door I assume it is also a hollowcore door but have no proof of it because the sun does not shine directly on it. 1 star for "curbside" disability. You won't get curbside assistance...even when you pick it as part of your order. Read the print at the bottom before completing purchase...it will read "in store pickup" even though at the top of the same page, it will show you that you picked "curbside." I was impressed that after ordering 6 items online (all 6 the same) they texted me within 45 minutes to say it was ready. Arriving at Curbside spot #1...amazingly my flagship Samsung with Verizon, couldn't connect anymore...and after noticing the man next to me getting angry about his phone, I asked if he had Verizon, and he said T-mobile. WOW! AMAZING! Now we have 2 people who can't log into the Home Depot app and "check in." What an amazing coincidents....or ? Forget not, call them with my phone...yes-what a novel idea. And I was able to call out to the number HD had text to me earlier. And of course, an automated system answered...that could...at best...transfer me to someone with a job there. And it rang...and rang...and rang...and no one ever answered. Obviously, this call was for someone with a job there...but who knows. And, I stormed in to customer service and told them this service is beyond terrible without functioning communication and people here for curbside are unable to communicate with the store from curbside. HD: "I'm sorry, Sir. Can I have your phone number to find your order?" Me: "Sure. It's..." HD: "I'm sorry. We don't have that number in our system." Me: Amazed at the clusterfut this place had for curbside service and me unable to speak without letting the 3 female employees standing next to him feel interupted as they stood gossiping about 'he said, she said' online ...and I pulled out my amazingly-unable-to-connect-flagship-phone-that-works-in-elevators, but not in front of HD, and thanked myself for screenshooting the order number while my ears released my frustration as I prepared to make my point. Had an issue with an order that was to be today. that was a no go cause it was damaged. said could be 2 weeks before I get another delivery. I call the store no answer. then get hung up on this goes on for about 10 minutes. so just drove to the store, told them my concern asked for the manager. I'm waiting for 10 mins for the manager, or what I thought would be a manager. then send me a associate. Just returned from driving across town (from Canal Winchester to Grove City - suburbs of Columbus, Ohio) to buy a RYOBI product in inventory. My local store does not have the product. After walking the aisles and not finding the item and finding no store assistants to help I approached a gentleman from the neighboring department (PAINT) who promptly called for assistance for aisle 45 where the RYOBI garden products are stocked (though I had also checked neighboring aisles and endcaps for what I was looking for, Ryobi 40 volt Auger). After 10 minutes or so, I walked up to the front service desk to ask for their assistance and the person helping me used the intercom to asked someone from the GARDEN department to come to the service desk. I stepped away and stood directly in front of the service desk on the other side of the aisle waiting. 10 minutes go by and I again approached the person who had tried to help me. Interesting response from her, "Oh, I forgot about you, Did someone come? You are so quiet!" . I guess standing 10 feet away directly in her line of vision if she looked up wasn't good enough for her to notice me and follow-up on my request for assistance. I told her I was leaving and she went into high-gear offering to get the manager, etc. To be honest, is sucks when you have to work this hard to buy something and I told her no, I was leaving which I did. So 45 minutes of travel time (back and forth) and another 35 minutes in the store, I left empty handed. It is Monday, and store was in slight disarray but that can be expected after weekend shoppers rummaged through everything trying to find their needs. Anyway, the online inventory says they still have 4 of the item I want though I saw no sign they actually have it when I was there! Just proof that all stores in a chain are not the same -- my regular store in Canal Winchester is awesome as well as the one in Reynoldsburg. Just sucks when only one store in my area is identified with having the product I wished to buy. Anyone who knows the Stringtown Road area of Grove City (where are the stores are on or located next too) you know that area sucks from a traffic standpoint, etc. To put up with that and not be able to be helped, sucks more! read more

I find that it really is hit or miss here. Sometimes I have a super stellar associate who 100% is competent and then other times I'm ready to pull my hair out by the time I leave because they've frustrated and confused me. Finding blinds for my new home was the latter this past Friday evening. I had been needing 6 of a particular size for weeks and was hoping that this location would re-stock their selection. Every time I came in for something else, I would check their blinds supply, to see only 1 of the size I needed. Frustrated, I went to the front desk who assured me there were 6 at this location. I assured her there was 1 and there were 0 up above as I had spent many trips looking for any extras hanging in the rafters. I had to basically beg her to call another store as she told me many times that it was Black Friday (yes, I know!!!) and it was inconvenient. You know what's inconvenient? Coming in week after week the shelves not being re-stocked with more blinds as well as your stock system being completely incorrect!! We ended up finding out that the Hilliard/Truman store had plenty of what we needed and we drove the 20 minutes over there. And you know what? They were more than courteous and offered to cut them without us even asking! No one begrudgingly told us a couple of times that it was Black Friday and an inconvenience to help us. I get it - retail is rough on that day of the year, but service with a smile does go a loooong way :) read more

I shop at Home Depot and spend a lot of money there. My husband is in construction so everything he needs for his business, he can always find at this store. We usually shop at the location close to home, near Dublin, however we were closer to this location on Stringtown road today. Unfortunately, the employees here were HORRIBLE and harassed my husband and I. I tried looking for an associate to help me, but everyone seemed preoccupied and uneaten to help. when we got to the self-checkout lane, an employee came up to us accusing us of stealing and demanded our bag and receipt. He felt foolish and looked embarrassed, and apologized to us once he realized we were paying customers! I will NEVER attend this location again!! read more

I ordered the Toro 42" TimeCutter 452cc Zero-Turn Riding Mower, online on Tuesday, April 28th, and shipping to the house was free, but I opted to pay the next day delivery for an extra $80. At checkout, the website said the next day (29th) was not available. So it was going to be delivered on April 30. I decided that would be ok. They emailed a delivery window from 6 am to 8 pm! Only a short 14 hour waiting period. On the 30th, the website tracking said it was en route to home. I took the whole day off, and wait from dawn until 7:30 pm when it started to get dark. I was concerned about having to unload and getting the mower situated when it was dark out, so I called customer service at their 800 number. I was on hold for 45 minutes, when I finally got an answer. The service rep checked and said she had two conflicting systems, one which said the mower was already delivered the day before (the one, Home Depots order page said was unavailable) and the other one said it was still on the way to my house, but now it was going to be two additional days later on May 2nd. The person on the 800 line couldn't get any additional information because the store location was already closed. Her suggestion was to either call the store or call the 800 line again the next day. So, the next day I attempted to call the Stringtown location 3 times, and the line would give me a recording, which I listened to for a little more than an hour before it disconnected. My 4th call was back to the 800 number which only had a 20-minute wait this time around. This service person Kimberly was very nice but she could only tell me that the mower was delayed and would arrive until Saturday the 2nd. I explained that while I understand that shipping issues can occur, I had paid an extra $80 for next day shipping. Kimberly said she spoke with the store and spoke with the manager about this issue. She came back and said the manager was going to give me a discount and to check for a refund on my credit card. Well, I finally got that refund today. $10.26!! So I basically paid $70 to wait on the telephone for a total of 2 1/2 hours. Also, I lost 8 hours of pay for taking the 30th off from work and then ultimately got the mower on the date that it would have been delivered, had I picked the free shipping! And a follow-up note: The Toro mower I bought was supposed to come with Toro's white glove delivery service. Copied from the product page on Home Depot's website: "Toro's white glove delivery service - Toro product will arrive set-up and ready to go providing you with peace of mind, our goal is your satisfaction, upon purchase, a certified Toro dealer will set-up the product and perform a multi-point inspection, arrange a time for delivery at your home, deliver the mower in person and review safety and operational information with you" The delivery drivers just unloaded the mower, pushed it into my garage and they were gone. No multi-point inspection or going over operational info at all. Truly my worst customer service experience I've ever had with any company. (except for Kimberly. Today was my sons "BIKE DAY" at School. He some how managed to break the bike into about 5 pieces, not too long ago. I thought I would be able to repair it easily. I thought wrong. I went to purchase an alley wrench to fix the bike, when I got to home depot I was quickly greeted by two young ladies that told me where I could find the wrench. I purchased the wrench, went to the parking lot to fix the bike. (bike day was today so I figured I would fix it and drop the bike off at his school) well I could nit fix this bike. I called a friend and he suggested I go in the store and let them know my dilemma. Well I headed back in the store and the same two ladies that told me about the wrench also lead me to a wonderful gentleman named "ED"! HE WAS GREAT! not only did he fix the bike with the tools that I purchased, he taught me how to fix the bike and what other tools I may need! I was so happy. He just stopped what he was doing and helped me right away. This is the kind of customer service I will always remember and appreciate. I came in the other night 15 minutes before close and pressed the button for help. 10 minutes later I still hadn't been helped so I searched for some. Be cautious of purchasing live Christmas trees. We purchased an $80 tree that was dead within 2 weeks. We made a fresh cut and had it in water within 20 min of purchase but everyday it got worse. The store was unable to refund my money or provide a store credit. They offered to let us swap out the tree for another but we had already put up our old prelit fake tree in the mean time and didn't want to take the chance on another dying. My rating so far at this point: I think I'll have to give them a one or none. I went to both Lowes and Home Depot and for various reasons, I took the toss up and was swayed by the signage at Home Dep saying 'Call by noon and get it installed in one day' or something like that, so on Wednesday night, I go online at HD and ask to be contacted. Next day, their rep calls me and we arrange for me to purchase a particular 'In stock' heater unit that I saw online, and she says someone will contact me on friday. Which btw, like everyone always says "I took the day off for this" but I did. I specifically cancelled a vacation day later in the year to be at home on Friday, to ensure this got done. But you can guess I wouldn't be writing this if that were the case. Anyway that agent sends me a pdf of all charges but says payment arrangements will be done by the on-site techs with the usual possibilities of adjustment if they run in to 'Unusual Circumstances' which I say alright to--it includes extra charges for needing 2 people to haul the old unit out, which I tell 'em is 120 gallons, a kinda oversized unit for a small house, but it ain't enormous, and they know what to expect--I coulda given anyone who cared, the serial %, model #, manufacturer--it's all on the plaque of the old unit but noone seemed to care anyway--that's what the extra guy is for, therefore the extra money. Anyway, this is going long- so to get to it - the agent on Thursday says I'll get a call Friday morning and then be given a 3 hr time window for the techs to show up. I get a call friday and that agent says: "2-5 pm window of time" and I confirmed I'll be here (prepping the house: taking doors off for easy access up and down the stairs, making sure access to the critical valves aren't blocked by stuff I don't need, and making a pot of welcome coffee and tea). Then, with little time left to meet that window--I get 'The Call'. You know--the point where everything goes tees up. Yep, 'He' (I'll be nice and not use names here) says he is just calling to say he is far away but still may be able to show up for my 'estimate' and he'll be able to scope out the job for the future. Not 'do' the job--no that wasn't ever the intention--no he's just gonna scope it out and let the Powers That Be back at the shop decide when they may be able to get to it. He comes out (just about 5pm btw, so maybe barely 'on-time' sorta). I show him my basement. He says "Everything seems pretty standard except a valve and a bit of pipe, but of course, the Powers That Be didn't expect a big heavy unit, probably 300 Lbs" (it's a Vaughn S model btw) but he's got my info. I offer to just keep the old unit- let him just drain it and leave it sitting down there and I'll deal with it later, just get it done (I started this 1 day process two days ago). Well, he gives me an estimate of about the same initial price we started with online, dropping the 'extra guy' charge and adding the 'valve and piping' charge, but most importantly, although I'm bending over backwards to accommodate, he still can't authorize anything. I'm supposed to just wait another day hoping his company is able to help me out this weekend which is normally, according to him, reserved for emergency work, not 'we screwed up, let's get that fixed work.--I added that last bit. He was actually very courteously going to not help me at this time and maybe not this weekend either, I'm supposed to wait to find out. I'm not sure I will. I thought I could kill two projects at one time and get my outdoor spicket fixed at the same time if I had just called the company I normally call for plumbing who I'll leave nameless also I guess for review purposes. Home Depot Home Improvement Consumer's Beware of Home Depot's Deceptive Roofing Practices It's amazing that Home Depot cited "unforeseen conditions", when both the sales person and the installation manager were verbally told, by the home owner, that it was plank decking under the shingles of the roof. Seven weeks prior to the work beginning, at the signing of the contract, I invited the salesman into my home to view the exposed underside of the plank decking in the partially finished attic, and the day of the installation I invited the installation manager to do the same and they both refused. After the roofers tore away a large section of shingles I received a phone conference with the sales person and installation manager and they informed me they would not work with the plank decking and I would have to pay an additional $2000 in order to re-deck the roof entirely or the roofers would walk off the job. When the amended contract arrived with the same salesman the amount had ballooned to nearly $3000. It was mid-October, and getting colder, and their shady business dealings forced me to overpay for a site condition that the company was made fully aware of more than a month prior to beginning work. Where is the "unforeseen condition" when the homeowner, myself, demonstrated due diligence by completely informing the pertinent parties? I have requested Home Depot return my nearly $3000, along with the additional money it will cost to fix the extensive damages that were inflicted on my property by the reckless roofers employed by Home Depot. To date Home Depot has refused to accept any and all responsibility and they have cloaked their deceptive business practice behind the guise of "unforeseen conditions". read more

I am usually one that writes great reviews and high recommendations for places that I come across that I enjoy, I have never searched for a review site to tell about a negative experience I may have had. However, this experience happened 3 times over and still affects us after it was over. Me and my boyfriend took on the task of building a fence for his backyard by ourselves. We did all the research and decided to go with Home Depot for the supplies. Our first trip, there were only 2 fences left that we needed, after speaking to both a store associate and customer service, they assured us that more were coming within the next week. So we went on a bit of a trial run to see how we do it ourselves. We were successful. We came back on the day they said that they would receive another shipment of the fence panels. We arrived only to see that there was still only 2 remaining (both that were obviously broken). So we went up to customer service to get assistance. They were helpful to assist us in making an online order of both the panels and the posts and said that it will be mailed to our house in 7-10 days. About 4 days later we get an email saying that our transaction has been cancelled, however it was only in the amount of the panels that we purchased. After going back to home depot to speak to customer service, another lady helped us. She stated that we could not get the panels shipped to our house because they were not in stock of shipping or something of that sort, so she made ANOTHER online order just ordering the panels in which we were needing to pick it up at the store in about 7-10 days. About 4 days later, we received yet another email stating that our order was once again cancelled. So we went in and spoke to both the contractors desk and the customer service desk. At the contractor's desk, we met with an individual named Robert B. He appeared to be the most helpful to us thus far. After explaining the processes and such, it narrowed down to him saying that he is going to have our order shipped to this store from another store that had them in stock. We thought "finally!" After him making another online order, we were told they would arrive 7-10 days. Another 3 days past when we got another email notification that our order was cancelled. Soon after that email, Robert emailed us stating that the reason why this happened is because Home Depot is no longer making this product and will not be selling them. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW 3 WEEKS AGO AFTER WE ALREADY BUILT SOME OF THE FENCE AND MADE 3 PREVIOUS ORDERS! Somehow Robert made it work and put in yet another some kind of special order and had them ship it to the store...another transaction. Although even through the frustration, we were thankful to have someone follow up with us through an email..knowing that it wasn't his fault we already were having the biggest headache with this process. We FINALLY got the email after over a month of hassle saying that our order is ready to be picked up. We get to the home depot to pick up our order and we find that the fencing panels are not assembled and that we had to do it ourselves for all 9 of them. No big deal, we were still excited that we can finish our project. However, did we not expect that the process of assembling them was a complete and total (excuse my language) bitch! The panels had to be pried into the opening with such force and repositioning at angles.. it inquired us both receiving plenty of cuts, stubbed fingers, and other injuries just to assemble the panels. In comparison, building the fence in the backyard was actually easier. It didn't appear that the parts fit very well at all together. All and all, although the staff was a bit hard to find, each one we came across asked if we needed help. It was the incompetence of the knowledge that was frustrating throughout this process. Needless to say, I do not foresee our services going to Home Depot as a first resort. The reason why I gave two stars is because the store was clean and Robert was one employee that followed up with us. read more
