I get due to the actions of a few folks who can't follow the rules, we all get punished, but unlock the cabinets so I can see something in detail. Stopped by here today and was pleasantly surprised. This place is my cup of tea. I enjoy shopping in places where you sort of have to hunt for the gems and this is exactly that! This place can be best described as the home of an organized hoarder. The place has multiple floors that are full of antique items for any of your needs/ wants. This is definitely a shopping trip that will take a couple of hours. I did not purchase anything, however the prices weren't too bad. Definitely more affordable than other vintage/ antique shops I've been to yet not priced like a thrift store or goodwill. read more

Ventured in this 3 story house for an afternoon of antique shopping. Around every corner, up and down each wall, was packed with nostalgia. Most items were reasonably priced, and there is something there for everyone. The staff was friendly, the booths are rented out. There are quite a few booths that have items enclosed in cases, however, there is an intercom on each floor that you can use to buzz the front desk when you want to take a closer look at something so you don't have to keep going up and down. I used to come here with my parents when I was a kid, and I remember it being huge. I came back for the nostalgia of the place. It's still huge with twisted and winding levels and rooms of offerings in unexpected corners. I was a bit disappointed with the overall selection, though. It's fairly well-curated, especially with clothes, and many prices throughout the store reflect that. They have some stuff but mostly junk. They do however have free lessons in horrible customer service. Stopped by today to see if anything interesting about an hour before closing. We were rushing to look at everything (we dig through stuff) and found a few things we liked but realized we were going to have to come back since they were closing. However at about 15 minutes before closing the owner comes down and tells us they're closing and basically runs us out. He turned off the lights before we were out of the basement, thanks! Then when I tried to ask about something on the way out he started getting really rude. We were going to come back but he basically yelled at us out the door. It was 8 minutes before closing. I understand wanting to get off work and watching the clock, trust me. If you want to close earlier, do! Change your hours, it's your business, dude. Customers are those silly people that keep you in business. I cannot ever imagine being rude to a customer, even at my JOB, but if you own a business why would you ever turn away a customer or make it difficult to give you money?? I just don't understand and clearly neither do you. I understand what should be though and so does my wallet, so see you never again. read more

This place is a lot of fun, even if you aren't big into antiquing. I don't like antiquing and going to flea markets very much, but this place is pretty unique. It's located right off High St. in German Village. It's pretty easy to spot. There's a pretty adequate parking lot right next to the brick building. What I love about this place is that it doesn't look very big on the outside, but inside it's huge! The inside just keeps on going and you wonder where it ends. Part of this is because there are five floors! It's kind of like a little maze in here with lots of interesting stuff to look at along the way. I think you could easily spend a whole afternoon here. It's pretty quiet inside and I was kind of afraid to touch anything. I always feel like I'm afraid I'm going to break something in places like these. The floors also creak when you walk so it was slightly creepy. Some of it was kind of dark. You kind of have to start on the first floor and then make your way up the floors in order since the building kind of guides you through it a certain way. It's hard to explain, but the building is full of rooms, instead of each floor just being one big room. If that makes sense. So there are hallways and little spaces that may have been closets. It's really cool. But it can also be a bit confusing to navigate. As for what you can find here, I don't even know. There's so much and it's not really categorized, so if you were looking for something specific you would probably have to have someone working there help you, if they could. I think it's more about just going and seeing what they have and then if something catches your eye you should get it before someone else does. Or before it's moved and you can't find it again. They really do have all kinds of stuff. Some things old, some older. There are toys, posters, jewelry, books, pictures, collectibles, etc. The list goes on. I was there for about two hours and didn't even come close to seeing everything. I didn't end up buying anything, but the people there were very nice. Part of the reason I don't really like antiquing is because I can't afford it. Things were expensive here, but I think it would be like that anywhere else they sold antiques. My friend who dragged me here was looking to buy some antique jewelry as a gift for his girlfriend. All the jewelry we found was really pricey and not really that great. So I wouldn't say this is the best place to buy gifts unless you've got a lot of money to spend. Some of the things might have been cheaper, but I wasn't really checking out the prices. So as far as antique shops go, this one was actually pretty fun. I usually hate these places but it was pretty neat. I might go back someday to check it out but I'll have to give myself more time this time around. read more

This German Village antique store is far inferior to the hipper Eclectiques Antique Mall in Clintonville. You might find it tougher to snag any neat-o finds at this place -- putting it below the Heritage Square Antique Mall out on Brice Road as well. All that being said, this place isn't so bad. It's in German Village (sort of), which is cool. It's also located in an old school. The numerous floors of the old educational building are packed with antique furniture, toys, knick knacks and the like. Nothing too hip is likely to be found here most days.. So don't expect any super-cool vintage clothes or conversation-piece home decor. This is mostly grandma's house stuff as I remember it. So sad. Depending on the day, you might find something, though. I must have said 'WOW' in this place at least a dozen times. The goodies just don't end. When you think you've seen it all, suddenly you turn a corner and there's another whole ROOM with antiques. Everything was laid out in a way that was easy to view and things were appropriately priced. Lots of vintage and antique items. You will find things you didn't even KNOW you needed! There was seriously so much stuff here that impressed me, but for some reason I was really impressed by the vintage postcards. Stacks upon stacks of them- from about every location you could think of. I wish I could have thought of a reason to buy a bunch of them... I didn't require much assistance from the staff, but they were very friendly and helpful when I did ask if they'd seen a certain item. This was my first time at the antique mall and I will definitely be back! read more

The only thing I would have liked better is if there weren't as many locked glass cases. I like to touch things and I like to be able to see things without having to page someone to come help me. One of my favorite places in Columbus, the GC Mall has a lot of long time dealers that are consistently well priced with collections spanning many time periods and genres. It is perhaps not has hip as Clintonville or as clean as the higher end places in the Village, but it is a great place to dig and find wonderful pieces at fair prices. Staff is always friendly, helpful and willing to work with you and the dealer if you want to negotiate price. The building gets really hot in the summer and very cold in the winter, dress accordingly because it takes awhile to make your way through this place. There is a soda machine and bathroom on the second floor, though hidden. I typically skip the attic. read more

Junk-junk-junk-junk AND MORE JUNK! What happened to this treasure trove of an Antique Mall? This place used to be full of wonderful vendors who had amazing pieces to catch the eye. I had been coming to this place since I was young. Having not stepped foot in this place in over a year, we decided to stop by and see what they had to offer. It was dismal. I'm quite certain their vendors are just buying random junk box lots at auctions and throwing them in here. You'll find bad knick-knacks (not in a good kitschy way either), really bad condition furniture, and just junk that doesn't deserve the word "Antique" to its name. Some of my favorite vendors have packed up and moved out and the place is becoming so barren I have noticed they have shut rooms off. The only thing worth mentioning is how cool the actual building is and some nice old photos and portraits hanging about, but other than that.. It's not worth wasting your time. You'll leave pretty disappointed and most certainly empty handed. read more

The prices are a bit expensive for antiques (I like to find the REALLY good, cheap deals on antiques) but there are some good quality hard to find things here that might be worth the price if you're a collector. Warning- do not go here with minors. I took my family here over the Thanksgiving break. While in the store, two of our children were approached by an older man who was one of the vendors (see picture). He asked our 17 year old daughter personal questions about where she lived and indirect questions to learn her age. She told him she was still in high school. I could see from a few feet away that something was not right - he was standing too close to them and they looked shocked. When I stepped over and asked what was going on, the vendor replied that he was stuck between "true love and the parameters of legality". He then proceeded to try to reach out and touch my 11 year old and asked them to stick our their chest. This disgusting dialogue continued and when I reported this episode to the employees at the front desk, I was told they thought they knew whom I was talking about because other people had complained. Apparently those complaints were not sufficient as the store continues to allow him to sell antiques there. Until he is removed as a vendor, I would not go there again. We heard him referred to as John and his picture is attached. read more

I have had a blast the many times I've gone to this Victorian home. It is an amazing experience, to see items from several generations (once I saw a very tiny Japanese spy camera, with a film roll in a can). Card said it was in working order. Yes, I agree, it is haunted, so if you are sensitive, you will have experiences, feel watched, be spoken to, see the back half of a gray shadow cat turning the corner of the stairs leading down from the attic. The attic has some mold damage, and I didn't want to stay up there, because even my sinuses are sensitive. Mostly there were old glass bottles, various flags, and porcelain dolls in poor condition, in the attic at that time. My son was fascinated with every trinket there, and I could not persuade him to leave when I wanted to go down. So, about halfway down the stairs, I thanked whoever was in the attic for letting us visit undisturbed. "Yeah," was the faint reply directly at my ear level, from above the handrail on the wall on my right. I tried to recreate the sound, but couldn't. Then I saw the back half of the cat turn left around the doorway, and later, read that the attic, stairs and the cat have been memorable experiences for a lot of people. The women's restroom was very uncomfortable, but I enjoyed sitting in the bench outside the office where ladies are heard talking to one another. Much of the jewelry gave me a "Do not touch" vibe, except for the newer things. There were several metal kiddie cars there one time we visited, and one of my son's friends recorded a voice saying, "Get off," as the teens were playing with the cars. I heard they may shut down this special place and was searching to find out. read more

I have no idea what Amy is talking about, these prices are actually pretty low for antiques. Maybe she's been looking at repro pricing before. This is a wonderful old mansion-esque building with tons of rooms to explore. They have a TON of turnover each week since there's multiple vendors inside, that means that even if you go once a month, the selection will change drastically. I was able to find more of my stuff (pre and early post-prohibition beer ephemera) here than at any other place in Columbus. read more

Great place to find all sorts of unique and unusual things. You might have to spend a lot of time looking though, this place is huge! 5 floors I think. My favorite stuff was up the first set of stairs right when you come in. There was also some amazing pieces of antique furniture in the basement. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I must have asked to see in 5 or 6 different locked cases and they never seemed to mind. I found a few things I didn't know I needed but am very happy to now own. read more

3.5. I love that this is in an old schoolhouse and it is SOOO much larger inside than the outside lets on. It's a maze in there and you could easily lose yourself in the rooms and floors. (Don't forget to go to the tippy top!) There is kind of a weird vibe in there though. We joked it was haunted. The people who work there don't seem overly interested in helping you but they have a runner they send out to help people. I think they have various phones that you can call up if you need help and need to see something. This is really between German and Merion Village. read more

I go to a lot of antique shops this place is not good. Its a bunch of junk, old glass stuff, nothing really that's in. They have a lot of stuff, I didn't think the prices were great. The floor plan of the place is really weird, and it has an odd twang of a smell inside.If you live in Columbus its probably worth checking out but don't go out of your way for this shop. read more
