Plumbing department guys are top notch AMAZING! I'd give them 5 stars! They are so knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Garden people are usually helpful and friendly. Customer service desk workers are hit or miss. Some are downright rude and miserable human beings. They can be total annoyances and not give you your order you paid for online without your ID even though you literally have the email, credit card, and confirmation number signed in on your home depot account on your phone right in front of them. It's a rude power trip some like to play. The people doing the pickup area are hit or miss. Once a rude guy wheeled my order out on a big flat cart, checked my ID, and walked away for me to load my car and put the cart back so I left it taking up 2 pickup parking spots because it's not my job to do it's his. Lumber guys are good most of the time if you can actually find them. Paint people are usually okay. 99% of the time (I'm there A LOT doing DIY and gardening) it's self checkout no cash registers open. I've had good luck with buying dishwashers from them, toilets, tools, plumbing, mulch, and plants. Military discount available! read more

They don't even deserve one star. Trying to work with their Kitchen department and apparently they don't want business. I set up an appointment to meet with them and got multiple confirmations of my meeting with Patty. Once i arrived with all of my information and measurements the associate refused to basically even talk to me because she said i have to pay $130 for someone to come get a precise measurement first. My project is down to the studs and i tried to explain that there will be flexibility & it's a super basic kitchen. she wouldn't even look at anything or hear anything i had to say. They had 5 associates sitting around at their desks but couldn't give me the time of day after i set up an appointment and went there. what a waste of time. read more

I purchased, sign a contract for Anderson windows Sept 2023, to be installed in November 2023, $2,500 down. First contractor came to measure, blocked my entire driveway, wouldn't answer my questions and walked through my whole house with his boots on. When he finally got off his phone and was leaving, I told him he will not be coming back. Next they called, gave me a different install person, told me they'd give me some money back, their exact words, no real apology. Then they said the windows wouldn't be in as planned. Next I get a TEXT WITH A INSTALL DATE OF JANUARY 2024. GOING TO INSTALL WINDOWS IN JANUARY ???? finally Alexander called me as the girl I was told would handle this , QUIT !! April 1 was the next install date. I was taking down all the curtains 3 days before and a man from Rochester who took the girl who quit place, calls me and says the windows aren't made ??? Really, what was going to be out in in January ? Then the lady straw was yesterday 4/19/2024 when this man calls me again and said July they will be ready !!! After no return calls or text, I called the Jamestown store. The girl there, hung up on me. I called a 800 number and demanded my money back. I will never deal with Home Depot again. read more

Look I work at walmart in electronics.. I know good customer support and how to identify someone who is lost in the store and not sure what there getting. This customer service was awful. I asked someone by picture where to find a certain light bulb. he told me aisle and wherebouts it was. he did not ask if I wanTed help finding what I needed. Just sent me on my way. I also was not once greeted or asked if I needed help by anyone in the store. The only person that told me something was at self checkout to press pay now when I stood there thinking it would take my payment with cars inserted. Ordered flooring, with next day delivery. Couldnt deliver for a week, and hesitated to refund anything, and upon pickup, the people could not figure out anything with computers, inventory, loading, anything. I dont know how the store functions. I have worse to say but am trying not to be too mean to the poor people. read more

I don't believe the store manager will read this but maybe someone responsible to the owners or shareholders will. Some time ago, I received a 'Rigid' driver for Christmas. The drill developed a manufacturer's defect in the battery connecting port in the form of a crack causing a loose battery. I took the driver to the store and they turned me away saying I needed to send it to headquarters due to the 90 day store warranty being 3 days expired. I've returned items 3 times at this Home Depot location. Each time I do, I get major attitude at the main counter. This attitude still prevails despite my calm, professional demeanor. I do most of my shopping at Warren and Erie, PA, Lowe's now. SEARS just closed. Is Home Depot the next location? We just ordered items on Amazon that could have been purchased at this store. read more

If you want to go somewhere and talk to rude employees, then this is the place. Ask for help, you will invariably be told to go to some far off aisle where the product is not. The staff grumbles if they have to do anything. I was just now ready to walk out of the store because of bad attitudes. I have been to this store several times. I have been going to this store since they opened. I have always had wonderful experiences with the people who work here. After loosing my hubby to cancer I have so many questions on products and have always been treated so nicely by them. I never felt put out by them once ... so I give them a huge "thank you" ... your the best! read more

PRODUCTS: The selection of products is very good overall, but at closer inspection half the puzzle is missing. I went in with my partner and we were looking for a two piece plastic J pipes that goes vertical down into the floor for under the bathroom sink. Home Depot only sold one of the two pieces (the upside down J part was not available). They had a "full" box of the other though. The only way for us to get the part we needed was to spend more money and get the full kit, which doesn't logically make sense. It's like selling bolts in singles, but if you want nuts you have to buy a full kit. Home Depot lost 1.5 stars due to products (lack of). SERVICE: The service at this Home Depot was extremely poor on the sales floor. We visited this location twice during this day (1ST at 3PM and 2ND at 8:45PM) and during the first visit, we found a guy that works in the plumbing section. He answered a question of ours and then said that he had to go help another customer somewhere, but that he would be right back. After waiting for over 10 minutes for his return we figured it out ourselves and as we continue to shop around we saw him in the back of the store chit chatting (near carpets) with a female co-worker. During the second visit for more parts, we need help and pressed the help/call button (at 2 aisle locations), but no one came. We then proceeded to look down 75% of their aisle for an associate, but didn't find anyone. We then stopped a worker passing by for help in plumbing and he couldn't find anyone. Then we asked the guy at the self-checkout to call the store manager in charge. The store manager wasn't available, but person (a woman) next in charge came to our assistance. She had no experience in plumbing, but paged Dave and waited with us till he arrived (2 minutes & 43 seconds later). We asked Dave some questions and about the upside down plastic J part, but didn't sell it separately and verified that the full kit had to be bought. The lady that cashed us out during our second visit was very friendly. If I were to compare Home Depot to Lowes, then I would have to say I've had better service at Lowes. Home Depot lost 2 stars due to service. CLEANLINESS: The rest rooms weren't bad, but had 3 paper towel holders with empty rolls on them (3PM) and a 3/4 full garbage with paper towels. There was 1 automatic hand air dryer though and it took a while to warm up. Home Depot lost 0.5 star due to cleanliness. ATMOSPHERE: A typical large hardware store, but with dust shelves and products. OTHER NOTES: Their credit/debit card system is not user friendly. After swiping a card it automatically asks for a PIN number and to process it as a credit card you have to press the cancel button, which is not obvious unless the cashier tells you and we used self-checkout. read more

There is always someone saying Hi or asking if they can help. It can be tricky sometimes to find exactly what you need, but it's the same at every hardware store I have been to. Overall the service is always excellent and you can bet they have what you need. read more

My husband and I went to this store yesterday, May 10, 2019 to purchase a window air conditioner and a ceiling fan. We couldn't find the air conditioners, but we came upon a group of 6 workers in one aisle who were laughing and chatting. No problem with people enjoying their job, but.....We asked where we might find the air conditioners, and one of them pointed to the front of the store. We finally found them AND a person who could help us load it on a cart. We went to pay and found ONLY a self check out open. I do NOT do like self check out. (I don't get paid to work there!) However, we had no choice. Now, remember the SIX people standing around?? WHY could one of the not be placed at a register?? Shame on Home Depot for making their customers do the work they should be doing! We then had to locate someone to help us load it in the car. Poor customer service, to say the least. The store is well-stocked and the personnel helpful, but Home Depot promotes a "free" home water test, that is conducted by a Home Depot / Rain Soft "magician." When they set up an appointment to check your home water system, they make sure that "the woman of the houshold" (is this the 1950s?) is present, so they can attempt to scare her into buying thousands of dollars of water filtration; made necessary by the chemical tricks the Rain Soft salesperson uses; a drop of a chemical to make your water cloudy goes into the tap water, and a drop that does nothing (so that the water remains clear) goes into the "filtered" water. Google Rain Soft to check on this scam, and shame on you Home Depot for promoting and profiting from it! read more

do not buy potting mix or plants here! my partner and i come here at least once a week for household needs as well as garden and houseplant needs. i bought one plant from this store, a "burrito" plant, and he never flourished; he was already infested with fungus gnats when i got him and i didnt realize, which spread to ALL of my other plants and destroyed their roots completely. assuming i could get clean soil there, i ran out to home depot and got new potting soil- the natures care mix, and some perlite for drainage, and i repotted my plants. i still had one more plant to repot so i went back once more to the depot and after seeing some flies flying around the bags i decided to open the bag before i bought 6 of them, and as soon as i did several flies came out and when i sifted the soil with my hand i saw half a dozen sub-adult fungus gnats within a square inch. so basically i just put the plants in dirt which i thought was clean and now i suspect its infected just like the rest of them. everything there is infected with fungus gnats. the infected plants are sitting next to the soil bags, which are also infected. do not buy your soil here. i will never buy plants or soil here again. needless to say im switching to rockwool and hydroponics, and i will be buying rooted plant clippings without soil. read more
