Zero stars! Every time I go into this store, it's an absolute s***-show! They've got row after row blocked off with crap piled high and there is no way to get a cart through. It's next to impossible to get any kind of service from the employees because none of them know where anything is. They just get on their device to look stuff up on the juneau home depot website. But the website is ALWAYS wrong!! It's never updated correctly!! Example: The site will tell you there is 90 in stock of a particular item in this store, and it will give you a row and bay number, but the item is never where the site says it is!! So you just end up following a staff member as they wander aimlessly around the entire store for over an hour until they finally just give up and tell you "I don't know where it is". And forget asking for a manager because they end up just doing the exact same thing! So they end up wasting 2 hours out of your day and you end up so pissed that you just walk out of the store with nothing. I've been to home depots all over, in many different states and the Juneau Home Depot is BY FAR the absolute worst you will EVER encounter!!! And apparently I'm not alone in my disgust with this business. The reviews go back 9 years, and all but 1 review is 1 star. So they've made absolutely NO IMPROVEMENTS IN 9 YEARS!! Goes to show how little they care about the community they serve or their impression of this store. Home Depot has ONLY responded to the 1 review that gave more than 1 star. They've made no attempts at an apology for all of the rest of the horrible experiences going back 9 years. read more

The staff is nice but almost impossible to find someone that actually knows something. The prices are pretty good and definitely better than most in town. If they don't have it in the store and it says it cannot ship to store online they can still order it for you if you go in to the service counter which is awesome. read more

I've been waiting since October to replace the microwave I have that went out.... the in store guy told me I can't order one in the store, I'd have to wait for new stock. So I've called, tried to order online to no avail. I finally tried to use their "chat" and the guy tells me it's a special order item and to go to the store to order it. So frustrating! AT this point I may just fly to Seattle and buy one from anyone else! read more

Bought 4 piece appliance set. I was told all 4 pieces were in store. When we were picking up, they told us the refrigerator we bought was not in stock. Had to go with a different model that wasnt as nice. Got everything home. Unpacked the range and it was all smashed. Unpacked dishwasher and missing handle. Only item we didnt have an issue with was microwave. Called the store immediately and got runaround when a new stove would be in stock. Manager didnt really know anything.(We apparently got last one). Now I have to go in tomorrow and try to figure out this mess. read more

The Walmart of home improvement. Staff is omnipresent but largely ignorant. If you need help with something, google it before you go in the store, the answers online will be far more comprehensive and practical than anything anyone in the store is trained to tell you. The one plausible exception to this - Alaska specific code - they are trained not to help you with because they don't want to accept liability for dispensing advice that specific. If you need special order merchandise, don't let the prices lure you in. You'll be waiting 4+ weeks for an item that is almost certainly going to come in damaged, or won't be the right item / right specifications. Don't have to read too many reviews to learn that part.... Also, it's probably not worth your time buying lumber or building materials. That entire departments merchandise is left outside in all weather conditions, leading to boards warping and concrete bags hardening. You might save some money on these products, but you will have to spend your own time culling the lumber and digging to the bottom of pallets to find usable product. Can't even get around this problem by using their "buy online, pick up in store" options - they will happily sell you warped lumber and rock hard concrete as they will not cull the product on your behalf. As a final note - if you use their website to gauge inventory levels for a product you need, don't believe anything from them over the phone or online until you're physically holding the product in your hand. Their inventory is notoriously inaccurate. read more

Out of the 3 people to help me with shelves didn't know how to help me or what to do for me and just to get one of those three people I had to stand around and wait because I asked for customer service and Jean was standing next to a phone couldn't just page someone she told me to wait then 15 min later I received some poor customer service and people who don't know anything about wood, joints, shelves or lighting read more

Do not place a special order from the Juneau Home Depot. In one instance it took 9 weeks to find the flooring I ordered. Then I stupidly used them again to order a washer and dryer. It's been 8 weeks and they just told me the set just left the factory in Mexico. Up here it would be easier to order from Seattle and have it barged up. read more

I just can't say enough about the above and beyond help I received from both Cindy's at the Juneau store. I was looking for two house plants to give as gifts for friends in both Juneau and Skagway and Cindy in the plant department kindly walked me through over the phone all of the plants in stock and helped me pick the best plants for my friends (all over the phone!). Additionally, Cindy then offered to not only help me with my purchase, but to deliver these plants to two different locations in her own time after work (including a trip to Wings at the airport to deliver one plant to a friend in Skagway). Both Cindy's were absolutely FABULOUS and HELPFUL. I can't say this enough. I will definitely be shopping at HD more in the future. The great customer service made my day. Heh, where do I begin? Cashiers try hard but seem mostly new and inexperienced at actually cashing people out. Usually only one register open but the cashiers is off wandering around, they expect or hope you self check out. The selection of goods is fairly pathetic. The markups are MSRP plus 20%. It is very obvious this store is trying to make as much as possible on the mostly made in china garbage they sell. Their appliance warranty is 90 days...guys when my new freezer died? 92 days. They don't back their cruddy products and why should they. Buyer Beware. read more

They get 1 star for the original person helping me in the appliance department. I went in to buy a dishwasher for my rental and the guy in the appliance dept. was very helpful. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on it. He found a great priced one in the clearance section that I was fine with. When he went to ring it up, the tag didn't match the machine so he called a floor manager over. He said it was fine to give me the price on the tag, less than $150. Then when we were almost finished with the sale, some other manager comes over and accuses me of switching tags and tells me I can't have the clearance dishwasher for that price and I need to pay $350 for it. At that point I asked for her name to report her to corporate for accusing me of trying to change prices. I told her the sales clerk was the one that told me about the dishwasher being on clearance. Then she insists on me telling her my name before she gives me hers. What kind of customer service is that? She then tries to help me find a cheaper dishwasher, instead of selling me the one on clearance. There are no dishwashers in the warehouse, but they are in Juneau on the truck and she PROMISES that it will be available the next day. 4 days later I finally get the dishwasher, after calling every day. Don't let the guy with the beard that works in the paint department, mix your paint!!! read more

Home cheepo strikes again!! "In order to provide you with rock bottom prices we'll provide you with rock bottom service. DO NOT , I repeat DO NOT!!!! special order anything!!! even If it is stock item that they are sold out of. I made the mistake of ordering $1200+ stove that normally was a stock item but was currently sold out. The appliance sales person told me that orders typically come in 2-6 weeks ( the standard amount of time to receive anything here in Juneau.) when the item arrives he promised that someone would call me and set up a delivery time, so no problem, I pay for the order and go home. 9 weeks later I still haven't heard anything so I go to the store and inquire with customer service as to where the item is, customer service promptly tells me that if I haven't received a call then the item is still in transit, he tells me this several times very reluctant to look up the order even after I give him the order number, eventually he looks the order up and discovers that the stove is actually sitting in the back of the store and has been sitting there for the last three weeks, as it arrived as scheduled but no one could be bothered to inform me that it has arrived. At this time I am getting frustrated and wanted to set up a "free delivery" as advertised when I paid for the stove. Customer service is unable to scheduled delivers and since it's Sunday there delivery person is not it. I was told to call back Monday. Monday morning I call back and was placed on hold for 15minutes just to be told that the delivery person in charge was unavailable and that she would call me back. I wait all day for a return phone call to no avail. Tuesday morning I call back only to be told the same thing although this time they said they would set up a delivery. Something they don't foreclose with there "free delivery" scandal is they will put you in line for delivery and call you 30 minutes before delivery, with no date or time known. they expect you to answer your phone when ever and leave your job with no prior arrangements to meet them at your house to receive your item. I have decided to pick the item in store myself. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting a call back from these clowns. I will never order anything from home depo again. read more
