Specifically Schadt Road, Knoville, TN- Generally ALL HOME DEPOTS IN KNOXVILLE AREAS. Incompetent people who do not give specific details about delivery and quality of product you want to buy. Once they write down a few details then they walk the paperwor up to the Service Desk (they don't sign their nane to the purchasing form, which NOW I understand) and the poor CS agent fills out information, etc. and she isn't fully aware of all the ins and outs. I blame management of Home Depot for two very bad stores that I had the extreme displeasure of going to and suffering the ill effects of their incompetency. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. GO ELSEWHERE. The employees at this store are amazing! Shawn that I spoke with on the phone went over and above to provide EXCELLENT customer service! He was kind and understanding and took the time to resolve my situation and help calm a momma's heart. I am very thankful and this kind of service is why we shop this store for all our home needs. The Home Depot appliance delivery team couldn't be worst, even if they try. I received no notice of delivery window. They came to my house, left a note and left. When I call they said they knocked. No knocking, no bell ringing. They said in the note what time of arrival and departure, well, my Ring camera has the time stamp and they flat out lied. Lie #1 I called and a mannerless woman hung up on me. They unilaterally rescheduled it, again without any notice of delivery date and window. They called me today, at 6:20 am, stating they are 30 minutes away. Insane!!! They arrived at 7:10, actually 50 minutes away... lying again!! Lie #2 They installed my washer/dryer. They torn the brand new laundry floor. I am not even finished moving yet. This is a brand new, just built home. They did not say anything about it, just left saying everything is alright. Lied again!!! Lie #3 When my husband, kindly was trying to apologize for not hearing the door the last time (only trying to warm up to them), The main guy said: "that was the other guys, this is our first time here". Remember I have pictures of the Ring camera, with his face right in it. Lied again!!! Lie #4 To top that, they did not have a print of the paperwork, so I had to take a picture of the delivery paperwork. Can they be any worse?????? The answer is NO! Seriously, if they try to provide a worst service, I think they will fail, there is no possible way they could be worse. Went here for screws and a stripped screw extractor kit. Wanted to make sure I got the right stuff, so i went to customer service. Lady was on phone so I waited. She looked at me a couple times, then asked if I was waiting to checkout. I said I needed help on aisle 13. I went and waited & waited. No one came. Lots of employees standing around, but I guess no one works power tools/hardware aisle. Ace may cost more, but I now understand why my parents always went there. They actually help you and know what they are talking about, without the attitude. read more

The WORST experience with regard to the company they subcontract doing flooring and shipping the product--I had to pay extra to have it shipped to me. To make a long story short...too many people don't know what's going on to the shipping company charging me $100 to deliver the flooring and then to leave it out in the rain. THE SHIPPING COMPANY WAS I BELIEVE ESTES...ABSOLUTELY REFUSED TO BRING IT TO THE FRONT DOOR SO I COULD BRING IT IN FROM THE ELEMENTS TO...the floor installer who showed up and didn't want to do the work...I was super upset. Trust me, contact an independent flooring company in your area. These big box stores offer no quality service. PS Lowe's was even worse. read more

This has been my go-to home depot since I moved to Knoxville 8ish years ago, and for good reason. I am always blown away by the level of customer service I receive here from the moment that I walk in the door. Whether I am here just to peruse the garden department or I'm here on a specific mission, I am greeted with a smile by the employees and always leave with exactly what I need. I recently purchased a washing machine here and was shocked how painless it was. I was in and out. Steve, in the appliance department, helped me find exactly what I needed and helped me stay within my budget. He even talked me down to a lower priced machine than the one I was originally going to purchase and I have been thrilled with my purchase. He got me set up with a discount and delivery and I was out the door in 15 minutes. I was even surprised with a hand-written 'thank you' card in the mail. I don't love the idea of big-box stores, but when I need to go, I will go no place else. read more

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator from Home Depot in March of this year. I am three months in, and the product has been faulty. The ice machine has frozen itself inoperable twice already, and the solution is to call a Samsung tech, and wait without an operational refrigerator until they find a solution. Home Depot does not stand by the products that they sell, offering only a 48 hour return policy. With $3400 spent, I find it unfathomable that Home Depot wants to put this issue into the customers hands instead of solving the issue with the manufacturer. If there is a constant problem with an item (which I am now aware that there is) Home Depot should have had it removed from their shelves. Lowe's return policy isn't flawless, but it's much better than a 48 hour window for a garbage appliance. read more

I had a rather unpleasant experience at Home Depot. I've worked with home depot all over the country, and this is the only store bad enough I felt I needed to share with others. The experience I'm sharing below isn't my only experience here. In general, I've found the customer service in this store to be anywhere from lacking to poor. Below is an experience that partially illustrates why this store gets one star: I previously purchased some retaining wall blocks from this store. After completing my project, I had a few remaining blocks, which I loaded in my truck to return later. Recently, I was driving by the store and realized I hadn't returned the blocks yet. I didn't have my receipt, but since the store is about an hour and a half round trip drive, I thought I should try to stop by in case I purchased them with the credit card I had on me. Linda was working the return line and I asked her if she could look up the item from my credit card. I had brought a couple sample blocks for her to use for the search. She said she could look up the items by credit card, however I needed to unload all of them in order for her to do anything. **I reiterated my position very clearly: I did not have my receipt and I was not comfortable providing ID after Home Depot's security breach. Linda assured me that I could use my credit card, and if they weren't there she would be able to give me store credit if I would unload the blocks. James, from the garden center, helped me unload the couple dozen blocks and passed the information on to Linda. Linda checked my card and unfortunately the blocks were not found. She then explained that the only way to process the return was to use my driver's license. Astonished at the contradiction, I asked her why she had us unload. Linda was unsympathetic and flippantly remarked that all major retailers require ID and that my only other option was to load the blocks back up. James and another associate brought the blocks back out to my truck. James made a good effort to stay positive and neutral, however the other associate, that came out with James, decided to denigrate my concerns with multiple remarks of how there was no security risk in providing ID. Those remarks were far from welcome. A couple take aways others should consider: #1 If you like Home Depot, you should probably consider visiting one of the many other Home Depot stores in the area. #2 Buy with a card and not cash. Even if you're good at keeping your receipt, the printing often fades and becomes useless. #3 Beware of the risks involved when you give your Driver License to a major retailer. Home depot. The Worse store ever to have anything done. Had them send out a contractor to give me an estimate on my roof. 1st one never came. Another came but never gave me a quote. 3rd one told me it would be about $6000 just to replace the shingles? The house was not all that big a ranch to be exact. Found another contractor to do the job for under $1500 & that was with new 1/2" plywood & the shingles. Then I went back there to buy a front door. What a joke! They told me they would have to have it specially made & the door would cost me around $300 But they would have to send someone out. I said ok. The contractor came out right away. Nice guy & was very up front & honest. But the Labor just to hang the door. Was going to be another $300 not including the hardware that would be another $200 He said because I had a security storm door & they would have to cut the screws to get the storm door off. Wait it gets better. But if I wanted the storm door back on it would cost another $600. All & all just to replace the front door & put back up the storm door I was looking at around $1500 to $1600 Are you kidding me! Of course I said unreal & declined the offer. Bought a refrigerator April 2021 now a few days before Thanksgiving 2021 the refrigerator has stopped working. Called for help they will take a look at it on December 14. Well there is One holiday ruined and half of a month plus without any refrigerated food or drink. No fresh milk or cheese for you! If all of the people that repair Home Depot's failed appliances are busy Home Depot could offer a small loaner refrigerator so I don't have to go part of November into December without refrigerated food, you may only have prepackaged food and room temperature drinks, happy Thanksgiving person who bought from us. It may just be me but I do believe a brand new refrigerator should last more than seven months. Please keep in mind for your purchases it may not make it to the holidays and you will serve your guests crackers potato chips and room temperature drinks. Not to mention all of the food that is ruining that was Purchased for the family Thanksgiving meal. Would I purchase again from Home Depot, no not on anything electrical that I am dependent upon. read more

Since my home purchase in 2009, I have visited this store at least 3 times a week and there are many knowledgeable staff to ask for assistance when needed. Although sometimes I could find a better price at a competitor, it's staff and location basically help me always go to the 'Depot for what I need! I do not know where to start with our experience with Home Depot. We bought an appliance package with them at the beginning of November for a new house that we are renovating. I was hoping to have them in time for Thanksgiving. That was not possible and that was ok given the holiday rush. We were told that we would receive our LG applicances Dec 3rd and when I did not hear from them about delivery, I was asked if I had not gotten a call that they would not be in until the 16th. Ok... still earlier than Christmas. I then get a call that they would not be in until January 16th! We have a large family event and that was not acceptable. To repair it, the manager tried to order us nicer LG appliances that were available but after two days, we were told that that could not be approved. I called trying to speak to a manager was hung up on by two different people multiple times! My husband and I then took off work AGAIN to go directly to the store. We agreed to another brand of appliance that was not nearly as nice just so we could get them by Christmas. Well... the range came in damaged, the delivery people didn't want to take off the doors of the refrigerator and so said it would not fit and left with it and the door of the dishwasher will not close. We went back to Home Depot and they nicely agreed to give us a loaner stove that did not match but would get us through Xmas. They also sent the frig back out which was now damaged but the week after Xmas they delivered one that was not damaged but had yet another horrible delivery guy. I gave them the one star because for a while, they were trying. NOW... I called at the middle of January and asked where our range was. No one evidently ordered it! WHAT!? I was told that there would be a delay of a couple of days until they determined who was at fault! I don't care who was at fault. I paid for these appliances at the beginning of November and still do not have them all at the end of January! Today, I got an email that two weeks later, they just ordered my range. Why? They told me a week and a half ago that it was ordered! I could have gotten the beautiful LG appliances that I wanted two weeks ago! This is unacceptable!!! First of all KARYLE was amazing she deserves a pay raise or be promoted if not both!!:) Went in the store to see what I needed to do about getting my Ariens zero turn lawn mower fixed cause belt broke 2 times and it's only got 11 hrs on it and bought it 6/10/16 and Karyle told me I could bring it in and get it shipped off or refund me my money which is $3,276 and Karyle Asked him and he said bring lawn mower in to get it shipped off but the way he said it was VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL And before I walked out I said can you make sure before I drive back up here with the Lawn mower to get the refund cause it a long way and Karyle agreed with me it shouldn't have done that and now I can't even use it. So she ASKED TODD(The RUDE guy) if I could get a refund and he looked and me in front of her and said NO It has to be shipped off!!The way he said it made me wish I would have never came to Home Depot and even bought the mower . Karyle said she was sorry about the situation I told her it's not her fault but also told her Todd was Very Rude and she even apologized about him being rude. i went to buy a refrigator ,it was on clarance so i had to get a friend to come and pick it up we live 10 minutes from store i told the associate to go and get the frig. up front my friend was probaly there. so another lady comes in who had called but had never even seen the frig. and wanted it so the manager said since she drove her truck there she could have it even tho i had a truck there to, it was wrong for her to get it, just wrong! i will not buy from home depot any more,and if you dont drive a truck i guess you dont get to buy. read more
