This Home Depot is probably the best I've ever been to and I've lived in several states. My parents, who travel around in an RV to basically everywhere hated Home Depot until they came to the Lapeer store. They still hate the rest of them but they (and I) are extremely impressed with the staff in Lapeer. I'm there all the time. 90% of the time any employee you run into is going to be able to answer your question. If they can't the will instantly hook you up with the right person who can. Even if it's not carried by Home Depot. In other stores my folks and I have had issues with getting them to do multiple cuts on lumber. Not here. I spent about an hour with a guy in the lumber dept planning a project and while it took them a couple of days there was no issue in having them do numerous cuts to fill the bed of a pickup. Everyone here is brilliant and every Home Depot nationwide should take a page from the people here. read more

We bought a package of new Samsung Appliances from the Lapeer Home Depot; a refrigerator, range, microwave and dishwasher. Our salesperson did not tell us that the refrigerator did not come with a connection kit for the icemaker, or that a power cord for the range was not included; we found that out the hard way when we opened the boxes and tried to make the appliances operational. We were outraged, and went to the Home Depot to obtain the needed parts and complain. To their credit, they refunded the money we had paid for the parts we needed. But the entire episode could have been avoided if we'd been given the correct information to begin with. We were only asked if we wanted installation for the fridge and range, which we refused. We were only asked about a connection kit in the case of the dishwasher. Also, Home Depot should vet their delivery services better. My wife was not pleased to find one of the delivery men urinating in her flowers next to our garage. read more

Tried to rent a truck... But that requires me to perform labor without compensation (do the employees job) which is a criminal requirement, but I also was required to use a facial recognition system that doesn't recognise faces. You could have just told me that you hate money. I'm going to your competition who actually likes getting payed. Have a horrible day. read more

Their prices are much higher than Lowe's. We always bought Cree light bulbs from there but last time we went to purchase some, we were told we would have to order them online. read more

Lisa, in customer service, was the absolute best! She returned a lot of "special order" items that were shipped to my home! Confusing to others, Lisa stepped up, without hesitation, and calmly did the confusing return. She was cheerful and so pleasant under stress and duress. If I owned a business I would want her to represent my company! read more

we drove a half an hour to get there and a worker named dale would not get the tool that we were looking for because it was not on the shelf up front and easy to get to it it was on a high shelf. we went to the manager and they said they would try to get it and they could not find it even though there inventory said they had 5 and I still have to drive another hour to another store if I could give them a zero I would. read more

We remodel our kitchen,and purchased the flooring, cabinets and LG HI-Mac countertop through Home Depot, our designer was very professional and knowledgeable, she did warn us about the LG HI -Mac countertops will scratch, we didn't realize every day use would leave a scratch, coffee cups, plastic jugs etc.. manufacture that's how this product works and there is nothing they will do about. So just letting other customers be aware!!! read more

I went in to check the price of a used generator. I was told by the manager that they could knock $200 off the price because it was used and returned. I came back a month later to find the same generator still there. I drove from Clio to lapeer to buy it and was told by the staff they do not sell their demo models. Then was told the would sell it for $50 off. When I asked to speak to the manager he said the could do 10% ($80). When I reviewed my text messages to my father-in law from the month before I had texted him the price I was told by the man at the service counter. I asked to see the manager in person to go over my proof of what I was originally told. When he showed up it was the very same man that had told me $200 off. He told me that was then and this is now. He had more money to throw at discounting it then he did now? I told them that would have been nice to know the first time I had checked on the price I would have called before driving an hour to make the purchase. I'm done with Home Depot. It's your classic go to place in Lapeer if you need any lumber or plumbing for your DIY project. Not really hard to navigate your way around the store. They have big banners hanging from the ceiling stating what section your in. read more

I went in to Home Depot today with a long list of building items (many 4 x 4's, 12 ft boards etc.) that I needed...I honestly felt lost walking in but was greeted by a very nice man named Jimmy...he was quick to help me and found everything on my list...he then, along with a great guy Travis loaded everything into my horse trailer (that was somewhat loaded with hay!)...I give these guys both A+ and thank them very very much...they helped me out a great deal and I truly appreciate them. This Home Depot was great because of the customer service. Every employee we walked by said hi! with a smile. After standing in line for a few minutes, an employee came over and got us to go to her line because hers was empty. Past experience, most people don't do this. They want to be lazy and to not wait on anyone, or basically, not want to do their job. This same employee even called someone to help us put our stuff in the truck. Outstanding I say! Visited the Lapeer Store on Father's Day to purchase some merchandise and get help with a Vendor letter which directed me to the Service Desk. The female employee at the Service Desk said she needed a Managers's assistance. Took almost fifty minutes for the " alleged manager " , Hank to show up ! The store wasn't even busy. Definitely lacking in people skills...Hank stated.." this isn't coming out of My Store...his attitude and body language quite hostile and belligerent. " Manager " a definite misnomer. Paid for and loaded purchase from main store. Went to Nursery and requested assistance loading some garden/landscape materials. Female clerk stated. .." you'll probably have to do it yourself...I don't think I have anyone available " Monday morning Hank the " Manager " called me..with his air of hostility...they will contact you and direct you to another location. I attempted to ask him a question and he just talked over me and hung up. These Big Box home and building products store are essentially large self-help " vending machines " And there is a push for $15.00 per hour minimum wage ! Both of these Home Depot employees would be overpaid @ $8.00 per hour. read more

I hate to sound so bias but usually every time I come here the male workers are a lot more helpful and kind vs the female employees. I went in there this past week looking for a bug spray repellant I saw online so I asked one of the employees for help because I didn't see it in the section where it is supposed to be. He was helpful and did as much as he could with his knowledge then passed me off to another employee in that department. He let me know that she'll be right over to help, no biggie I'll wait. 20 minutes went by and no sign of her so I asked a lady in the garden department and she was disgustingly rude and said "a girl was just over there and no one was there but she'll be back in a second." That's funny because I've been standing there for a good 15-20 minutes with no sign of help anywhere. I mean my dad comes in here on a regular basis, I guess next time I'll just come in here with him so I won't have to deal with miserable employees. read more
