I have never been so impressed with Home Depot!!! I traveled to this Home Depot to check out there plants #plantmom. I have been told multiple times that they have a good variety of healthy plants, so I packed up the hubby and child and made the trip. When I walked into the garden center it was huge!!! I was like a kid in a candy store. All of the plants looked very healthy, they even have a special place where the house plants and seeds live just behind the double doors. I picked up a hibiscus plant a yellow mum plant. I will most def be back!!!! read more

Horrible customer service. I ordered a tool box ONLINE it was damaged big dent in the side. I called the store and told them we will either take a discount or a new item. They offered $50 back and said we can't get another one unless we come in store. I do not live near a store one of the reasons I ordered online. The delivered driver who delivered the item had to ask my husband for help he couldn't even manage it alone and didn't come with help. He then marked it as delivered. I called the store back to speak to the manager again they asked is this about the tool box? I said yes and they intentionally let it ring and ignored me! read more

They practice racism regularly and their rules and regulations are adjusted according to your ethnicity by those who are working at the time! Then, couldn't find help in hardware so walked to Customer Service to call for support - On overhead system. 20 minutes later placed phone call to store to see if I could finally raise someone and got a man who argued with me about knowing I needed help. Finally flagged down another employee asking for a manager. She put in a call...no response after 5 min. I wasn't in her department, but at least she was willing to help. HomeDepo is where we found this "licensed" Contractor named Francisco Juarez! Emerald Builders Inc or Evergreen Builders Inc. He is out of Gustine so if ANYONE comes in contact with him PLEASE do not hire him! He is a Con Man and convinced my 79yr sweet mom to write him $50,050.00 in checks over a period of 6weeks and NEVER EVER completed the work. He left my senior mom without running water stove or kitchen sink!The work Francisco Juarez did do is the WORSE crap I've ever seen in my life. I called HomeDepo to file a complaint and all the management did was NOTHING! How can HomeDepo RECOMMEND this person? Francisco Juarez brought his grandson and wife to befriend my mom so they could prey on her and take ALL her dream money for her kitchen/bathroom remodel. I have been very disappointed in this Home Depot, to the point that I will pay more at another store rather than go there again. I purchased a dishwasher that was defective and it flooded my kitchen, ruining the floor. Home Depot would not take the dishwasher back without a restocking fee, and refused to waive shipping cost on sending me a new one. There were numerous problems with my entire kitchen remodel order, and they did nothing to help make the situation any better. read more

WARNING: ONLY SHOP HERE AS A LAST RESORT. The employees here are so bad, that they overwhelm the few good ones that there actually are. I know it's sad for those decent employees, but I think it all falls back on the person who has overall say so of the store. If that person doesn't care about their employees, they sure won't care about you!! Expect self checkout when you come here, as well as some of the most laughably crappy customer service. It feels like you literally have to dumb yourself down just to communicate with the customer service counter. I wouldn't take their word for everything either even if they sound like they know what they're talking about, as they've been wrong MANY times before. There are still plenty of things I'd love to buy from home depot, just not this one. I think the drive to Merced and back is actually worth not having to deal with these fools. Last Saturday April 15, 2017 I and my wife where in the Los Banos store to pickup an internet order of Lexan Thermoclear. The checkout clerk was extremely hostile. She stood there and glared at me the whole process. A lady at the returns counter and that clerk both noticed this clerks hostility. I am a disabled senior citizen and needed help. Non was offered. My wife helped me and by Tuesday my back injury pain had mostly gone away from hoisting the two sheets of Lexan onto our car. What is your clerks problem? I wrote this incident up on the email survey I got from Home Depot. I am writing now to make sure this is not forgotten. Hostile, glaring stone faced, no help and damaged goods this is a new low for Home Depot. Update May 18, 2017 No response from Home Depot. Crooks and dirty tactics. I have never had a good experience at this store. In this instance, i needed dishwasher. I could afford a $320 dishwasher including tax. I enter their store into the website and settle on a frigidare brand that would be $315 with tax. Then i check stock on the dishwasher I am told they would have to order it and i would have to pay a $56 delivery fee "A $56 DELIVERY FEE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL DISHWASHER THEY DO NOT HAVE IN STOCK UNDER $400. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY DISHWASHERS IN STOCK UNDER $400 PER THE ON DUTY MANAGER CROOKS, DIRTY TACTICS! Take the extra 5 min and go to Lowes. Home depot is scum! Part two: Okay so i bought an evaporative cooler in 2016 for $600 and purchased the 3 year warranty for an extra $130. Seems like every time I go into this store (about once a month) all the employees are nowhere to be found. Today I was looking at ceiling fans. I had to go over to the paint section and get a guy to radio someone to come assist me. When I got back to the fan/light section I waited for about 10 minutes and no one showed up. This Home Depot customer service is TERRIBLE! We went in to buy a tool chest, willing to spend a decent amount, we asked for help about 3-4 times every time they had to page someone who worked in the department, I get it people know certain things about certain departments but it was just a tool chest! We literally waited 30 minutes just for help, then decided what we wanted and waited another 45 just for them to get it down. We were just going to walk out at that point. No one's written a review on this place yet? Well I guess I'll start it off. I just want to say service is more of a crap shoot than anything. In my opinion, the most reliable person in the store is George in the electrical section. He is super friendly, really knowledgeable in electrical, and his customer service is excellent. I have found other exceptional employees here and there, but George is basically the man when it comes to the electrical trade. Overall, I have had a decent experience. I do definitely miss Lowes, but I see some familiar faces from Lowes at Home Depot from time to time. read more

First of all, DO NOT buy a RHEEM hot water heater at Home Depot. It is the only brand of hot water heater they sell. Two months ago I purchased a RHEEM water heater. Last week it failed. Would not relight. When I called the local plumber, he said "It's a RHEEM, right?" Yes it is. RHEEM sent a new part-guaranteed to fix the problem, NOPE! Two days later, no hot water, can't re-light. Finally RHEEM sends someone from Turlock, they replace the heater, took it back to HOME DEPOT and was told, you need to pay an additional $5.00--price increase. By the way HOME DEPOT does not accept returns of hot water heater. This exchange was ONLY done because RHEEEM made the request. HOME DEPOT does NOT honor guarantees/warranties on hot water heaters. Terrible customer service!! Was here last week to buy paint and the employee working the paint desk was so angry he was actually swearing under his breath! Another employee came and relieved him but not before I waited for 30mins! I came back again today to buy more paint (clearly I didn't learn my lesson). # 1 of 2 reviews. Update: The day after I wrote this Home Depot posted on this to contact our "customer care team." I did and they have been calling my wife a lot. I finally spoke to them. They told me how much they cared about me. Wow thanks! It is 2 weeks since I have written this. Still no appointment for install. Their website says they have 99 cases of the flooring in stock. I'm about ready to just ask for my money back. This first review will address the poor customer service or perhaps just plain incompetence. We are getting flooring installed in our home. We chose this place because it's about the only option in Los Banos. My wife went in and set up a measure. A few day later a guy comes out and measures our home. A few days later, they start calling us. This is where it starts to fall apart. My wife pays with our credit card over the phone. They said they couldn't give us an install date until the materials came. About a week later, we get a call from the store. They say the order didn't go through, that they need us to come in to the store. My wife asked if she could just give the credit card # over the phone. Nope, gotta come in. So, she and I go in. We finally find someone from the department and ask to pay. He says we can look around while he gets the papers ready. Okie dokie, 10 - 15 minutes later, he calls us back to the desk. Can't do it, the place he has to call for the quote is closed. Can we come back tomorrow? I didn't go back the next day. A few days ago I call up there. My wife really wants to replace our carpet. I get the automated deal. I press the # for flooring. Rings and rings. Kicks me back to automated. I hit 0 for the operator. Rings and rings. Kicks me back to automated. I hang up. Keep in mind, it's now about two weeks since my wife went in and paid $50 for the quote, and they have called my wife at least 10 times trying to get our money. Finally someone called me. I was working and said we would come in that evening. He said okay, he'd be there until seven. At 10 to six I call, and speak to the same guy. I ask if he can call whoever he needs to and have everything printed up so I don't make another wasted trip. (I didn't say it rude like that)He says he's about to get off but he would leave a note for the guy at lunch to do it. I said, "What? You guys sound very unorganized. Never mind." And then hung up.(this time I might have been a little rude). I didn't go in that night. So we really want new flooring. We really like the materials we picked out. So, I give it another try. What the heck am I thinking? So, today I call up there and ask to speak to flooring. She answered the phone in a way that made me think it wasn't flooring. I said - can I speak to flooring? She said- you are. I tell her that I want to come pay for this. She tells me I can just pay over the phone. Wait? What? Okay! At one point during the confusing process I asked a question. She said she wasn't sure. She could get someone from flooring to answer it. Wait? What? I thought you were. Well, I am. I'm just the new Dept. Supervisor. But I've never worked in this department. If you come in later to pick up this paperwork I could look it over and someone that "knows what they are doing" will be there to answer any questions. This is just after I gave her my credit card number for a 7k purchase. I didn't know what to say, so I just hung up. I haven't gone in to look at the paperwork yet. read more

Not real pleased with Home Depot this morning... I needed to get some miscellaneous garden watering items, so I went to my local Los Banos Home Depot. I got a cart, as I wasn't certain what all I was going to get. As I was turning to go down the garden hose/sprinkler isle, there were two male employees in conversation with one leaning against a non-operating forklift (it was taking up half the isle), so I edged to the left as to avoid the employees...mind you, they did not move to get out of the customer's way! My cart got hung up on some cardboard from a box of hoses, and I had to extract myself out of it...all the while, the two employees continued talking. I had to push the cart well past them, as they were standing approximately right where the merchandise was that I was looking to buy. Again, they just continued talking, and me trying to find what I was looking for. After a few minutes of me searching and pondering, the two employees moved away to continue their conversation. Not once did either of them ask if I needed help! Oh, I forgot to mention that it was not a Home Depot related conversation... As I went to the checkout, there were three girls standing against the end of an isle chatting about someone and her baby. One register light and all the del-checkout lights were on. I moved toward the number 2 check out that had the light on, but it was empty of cashier. I looked over to the employees deep in conversation, but no one acknowledged me. This review is for the flooring dept. I went there to order bamboo flooring, on the model is says that it will be here in 5 days. ( I have a sch. installer coming in 11 days from then to install) as I am placing the order I asked for a delivery date and they said it needs to get in the system and should know by tomorrow and they will call me. No call, of course I have to call. Spoke to the same guy who helped me place order, he said it will ship next day and will be here no later the Tuesday guarantee. Well turns out he was wrong, the delivery date was past the date I needed it. I'm very frustrated because if they trained their employees correct they would know correct dates to tell their customers. I kept getting different answers from 3 different employees. I could of ordered from 2 other places that I KNOW for a fact would have gotten here within that time frame but I was trying to "shop local" since we do live in a small town. They did give me a refund without any problems but because of their lack of knowledge I need to re-schedule my installer which is going to be weeks out. We are stuck with concrete floors until then. Poor customer service. We were in the patio area for over half an hour and nobody came over to ask if we needed assistance, about 4-5 employees were gathered around the service desk laughing and having a good time. Nice that people enjoy where they work but to find someone that actually does work would be helpful. Also, employees watched while a customer let her little dog walk around unleashed and it peed on the floor merchandise. Gross, if your animal is that small, ask customers to carry them or place in a shopping cart so they don't contaminate merchandise and people buy it unknowingly and take it home. read more

Wow, another one star review! I hesitated to share because another single star may just go un-noticed but here goes nothin'. I visited the store yesterday to pick up a few items and could not find the garbage disposal cleaning pods. They are listed as a stocked item on the website but was unable to find any. I asked the associate at the door if someone was available to help and she agreed to call for that someone. I continued looking, and due to previous experience, started my stopwatch. Mind you, I had already spent 15 to 20 minutes looking for these cleaning pods. 5 minutes later, nobody has yet stopped to help. I returned to the door associate who, again, calls for help and suggests that I look in the appliance section near the garbage disposal display. I wait another 5 minutes, and nobody shows to help. So i wander around the store looking for garbage disposals and found them but still no pods. Walked back to the cleaning supplies and waited around a while and finally gave up. I thanked the door associate as I left and began to exit the store. As I walk away, I can hear her shouting to me. She is now pursuing me down the front aisle of the store asking where i looked and engages another associate in her pursuit. I'm done looking and just want to purchase the other two small items and leave. The new associate now wants to escort me back to cleaning supplies and help me. My question to him is "Do you have the item I'm looking for?" Neither associate can answer the question. I'm not sure anybody can. I left the store defeated and disappointed yet again, seriously. I have a justified aversion to Home Depot. I don't want to go there and it is my last resort. This same scenario plays out over and over again with different items, without the pursuit though. Yesterday was the first time i've had an associate pursue me. Most of the time I can't get anybody at all to help me. Only after I've searched for a manager does anything happen at all. Sometimes my questions or requirements are not a simple purchase and might require some creativity on the part of an associate yet I shouldn't have to escalate my questions to a manager every dog gone time! To top it off, the person pushing solar energy now walks around the store and is intentionally engaging people to sell solar energy systems. It's one thing to politely decline as I walk past their kiosk. It's entirely different and uncomfortable for me to be actively engaged in questions about something in which I am not interested. I do find it comical that this person is trying to sell me something I don't want while Home Depot is unable to sell me what i do want. I'll do anything not to go to Home Depot. Most of the routine home maintenance things I need are available at the small independent hardware store in town. I'll order the cleaning pods from Amazon and life will be good again. read more
