One of the worst harbor freight I've been to the manager that was there Saturday morning 11/30/25 was probably one of the rudest person I've had an interaction with at any Harbor freight. The young man at the register was nice but when he ask the manager for help he came over with a very rude demeanor,asking him "what now?". This past Saturday (9/3/22) I went in to buy ac Freon for my moms car and after getting it home, my dad had some technical difficulties with it so the next day I took it back to the store and a higher up employee replaced the can I bought with a better one that had a new hose attached to it (this can was $10+ more than the one I originally bought) and said if we had anymore problems with it, to bring it back again and we'll figure something out. This made my cheap o dad hella happy. The employee didn't have to do this for me but he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and I really appreciated it. In preparation for the San Jose power outage I called every store in the South & EastBay this morning. Each person answered with the normal greeting with and we are out of generators. I get that you've probably had hundreds of people calling but, isn't customer service part of your job description? Called the Los Banos store and the female who answered the phone was friendly let me know what type of generators were in store took my name and put it on hold. When we got to the Los Banos location we were greeted and asked if we needed help. This team did not miss a beat each customer greeted, assisting customers with any questions, phone ringing off the hook, they even helped load generators into vehicles. I can't get over the fact that they helped load the generator into the car never had this type of service from any other hardware store. Thank you to this entire team for the amazing customer service. Heather your patience was greatly appreciated as we had to rearrange the car twice to get the generator in the back seat. You all deserve a raise and some paid time off for your work today! I really hope that the store manager appreciates this team and relays this to the regional or corporate office. read more

I have had great experiences with Harbor Freight. I always get the extended warranty, though, because I USE my tools! The latest example of how much I appreciate this business: Last September, I purchased a planer, but didn't get a chance to use it because of an injury. Last weekend I started unboxing it, and noticed that there was a dent on the top of it. I was afraid that it would affect it because the mechanics are at the top of the planer. I stopped and didn't finish unboxing it. I called and spoke to Heather, and she said to bring it back. They exchanged it for another planer, and they were beyond helpful. I strongly recommend the business. I know that there are tools that are of better quality out there, but the price is much higher. For my purposes, Harbor Freight is a great value and I create quality products with the tools and accessories I purchase. read more

I purchase a generator, I was not sure what I needed the employees at harbor freights on the date I purchased the generator were helpful according to what I needed. I asked the employee at the cash register if I could returned the generator if it did not work for my needs. I was told yes. So I took my generator back after one attempt to used it, and it did not power my RV. So I took it back, the supervisor charge me $90.00 restocking fee she said it was on the receipt, she even circle the receipt, it clearly does not state the amount, and that's not what I was told.. very unsatisfied and would not recommend it.
